Very nice with one improvement needed.
Hotel is in a great location with a nice family atmosphere. The pool, beach and garden areas are well kept and nearby there are plenty of restaurants. Rooms are clean and comfortable with good facilities. I have to dock one star because the balcony, the chairs and table were full of bird excrement so we couldn’t sit outside.

Maui dream vacation.
You are staying in a postcard! The rooms, staff, common areas, pools, restaurants, views, beach and black rock cliff, just perfect! Perfect sandy beach with wildlife galore. Selection of restaurants and casual dining. Close to the local mall for shopping and more restaurants. I do recommend contacting Waiola Surf Academy for lessons, they didn't have lessons on property. We will be back.

Perfectly on brand for Sheraton: Outdated, Overrun with Families and Variability in Service
Good - Location at end of long walkable beach, west facing perfect for sunsets, and wonderful service and attitude by a waiter named Gavyn. Bad - Very dated exteriors, kids all over the place (which is fine is you’re on a “kids all over the place” vacation) and variability in service, expensive (like you pay $12 for a small “Pina Colada smoothie” that is actually pina colada mix with ice) Overall - want a kids family vacation mega resort, then this might be your place, but if you are looking for a couples relaxing vacation you should absolutely avoid this place.

Paid additional for ocean view but given resort view.
We recently stayed at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa for 10 nights to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We booked an ocean view. We checked in after being up and traveling for about 20 hours. We had a 9 ½ flight and a 5 hour time change. We were told we were being upgraded to a deluxe room for our anniversary. Of course we thought that was great. We did not see what was deluxe about it. It looked like any other hotel room we have stayed in. After our jet leg wore off and we took a 12 hour Road to Hana tour we had more time to spend at the hotel. We started realizing we were actually downgraded not upgraded. We were given a resort view. We could see only a tiny bit of the ocean in the distance if we stood in the corner of our room in front of the sliding door. We let the travel agent know that we wanted a refund for the additional money we paid for an ocean view since we did not get one. We were told if we could see any part of the ocean from our balcony that is considered an ocean view. If we had been told this we would not have paid for an ocean view. We did enjoy our stay. It is a nice hotel and good location. We prebooked the breakfast buffet which was very good. The pools are nice. But you do have to save a chair by the pool early since they sell day passes to the hotel.

Exceptional Service in a Beautiful Location
Our stay was made truly memorable thanks to the incredible service—especially from Anjelica! She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable from the moment we booked through our entire stay. Anjelica is the kind of person who never says “can’t”—she finds a way to make things happen, always with a warm, positive attitude and great communication. She truly elevated our experience, and we’re so grateful. The location near Black Rock is unbeatable—snorkeling with sea turtles just steps away is something we’ll never forget. The rooms are a bit dated overall, but very clean, and it looks like some renovations have been done, especially in the bathrooms. We tried a few on-property dining spots, which were convenient but a bit pricey for the quality. That said, the area is full of great local restaurants we enjoyed exploring. We actually prefer to support local anyway, so this didn’t take away from our experience. We’ll absolutely be back—thanks again to Anjelica and the team for making it such a great stay!
