We were a large group of 27. My wife and I are Travel Club members and used our nights for all of our family. Unfortunately, the check-in process was not as smooth as we would’ve hoped. Some room requirements were not able to be met in the process was a little confusing as some of the benefits had changed. there were some confusion in the Travel Club area on how the Palladium dollars were being handed out and the process wasn’t smooth to get points onto the app. We were very happy with the resort and the food. We also had a special 85 birthday celebration that went above and beyond our expectations. At times the music around the main pool was a little too loud. There is an à la carte restaurant that overlooks the pool and it would be nice for the music around the pool to be turned down, so the people having dinner can have a conversation. The music was supposed to be turned off at 7 PM but we talked to our waiter and he was able to accommodate turning it off around 7:15. In many of the resorts we have gone to in the past we bring local currency and go to the lobby to get exchanged into smaller bills for tipping. The lobby had no small bills in this instance, and we had to make a special trip into town and had to convert a lot of pesos for the 27 of us. Overall, the resort is small, but was very nice different areas that you can go to to unwind. The beach area was very nice. Not very many rocks.

Wonderful experience! Most people we met have been here several times! Quiet Bar, adult section, special mention to Bernardo our bartender. Smiles, professionalism and great advice. Will come back again 🇨🇦

This is a lovely spot. Glad there is an adults only pool, would have hated being on the sidede facing kids pool. Loud.
This is a lovely spot. Excellent food and drink. Although we tried to book a la carte restaurants on our first day, we could only get into 2. This was disappointing. Glad there is an adults only pool, would have hated being on the side facing the kids pool. Loud. The resort needs to turn the music down on that side a lot. Also the water sports section on the Sunwing site is misleading. Surfboards are not included in the free equipment at this resort anymore. Also the “panoramic” deluxe room is great, although the balcony is small and it is not always a round balcony, not truly panoramic. So the description of the resort needs to be updated on the Sunwing website.

Great resort!
We liked the size of this resort as it had everything we needed but as still small and private. The beach was fantastic and it was so cool to sit on the beach and watch the whales in the bay in front of us!

Feb 07, 2026Wouldn't recommend, really poor service killed the entire trip
I write this review with mixed feelings. This resort came recommended by three different people. The rooms are comfortable and clean but in need of some basic maintenance. The caulking around the tub is covered with black mold and there was black mold on the inside of the jets in the tub. The staff coming to clean the rooms did a decent job but in the two weeks we stayed, the floors and countertops were never washed. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained with lots of a little sitting areas, including hammocks. They have these cute little red car strollers for use while on resort and the kids club is awesome for getting littles out of the sun and into air conditioning while still being able to play (parents are allowed to stay which was great). The food in the buffet was tasty and there were plenty of different options, however, three different people in our group got food poisoning (two of these people weren't drinking so its not the liquid flu bug). The a-la-carte's are very difficult to get into and you have to use an app which isn't an issue for us but for elderly folks, I can see this being frustrating. The food in the a-la-carte's was just ok and the service was not good. We did a tour for their chain's "membership" package whereby you pay a little shy of $13,000 USD and even if we didn't buy in (which we didn't), you get points to enjoy a meal and wine at their exclusive restaurant The Nest. The meal and service at The Nest was very, very good. The staff at their exclusive club are very nice. The service from the front desk and poolside bar staff was HORRIBLE, emphasis on the front desk staff. They are extremely rude, slow and even went so far as to argue with other staff members. There was an issue with the free meal we had at The Nest and the front desk was trying to charge us for it. The club staff told them we weren't to be charged but they didn't care, they were trying to force us to pay. In the end, the Club staff took care of it but I told them that if they are trying to sell memberships, their front desk staff are doing a good job at turning potential members away. We signed up for service at the Spa and were told we would get buy one, get one free and our third one was to be 1/2 price. We were charged full price - it wasn't worth the argument by that point I was done. The spa experience itself was good, the hydrotherapy for an hour prior to the massage was nice. The spa was clean and the staff were friendly. We were warned before we left there were a lot of stairs to get to the beach and that it was a "surfers" beach. They were wrong. The beach is pretty close to the main pool and we've stayed at resorts with way more distance/steps to the beach. The beach is also beautiful, yes there were surfers/paddle boarders but it is also the perfect beach for relaxing and having fun with the family. Its clean and well maintained. If you want chairs though, head down at 7am to reserve a spot or you won't get one. Lastly, if you are trying or expecting to sleep or have small kids who need to sleep, this isn't the resort for you. Every single night at 8pm until 1 in the morning, they play very loud music with an impressive base!! The base is so impressive it will cause items in your room to rattle and vibrate - not great if you are trying to sleep or have a child trying to sleep. If you are young, looking for a mid-grade resort to have fun and party, this is for you. If you are a family or have younger children or are expecting good service and a quality experience, then keep looking.
