Honest review – we got married at Dreams Curaçao in May 2025
We stayed at Dreams Curaçao for our wedding in early May 2025, with 43 guests who stayed 7 days at the resort. We were quite nervous beforehand, especially after reading some of the negative reviews online in recent months. That’s why I wanted to share our experience—to help others who might be in the same situation feel more at ease and maybe reconsider the resort, which surprised us positively. Rooms: Spacious and clean, with fresh white linens and towels. Housekeeping came 1 to 3 times a day. The room view was truly beautiful. Food: Varied and tasty, mostly local dishes, with just the right amount of seasoning. Dinner always had a suggested soup, starter, main dish, and dessert. Three restaurants were open at night (Italian, grill, seafood)—all were good, and guests had different favorites, which means all of them were pleasing. Special mention for the ice cream (Oreo, strawberry, vanilla, chocolate) at the back of the snack shop by the pool—it was everyone's favorite. That same place also had sandwiches. Room service took longer, but those who tried it liked the pizza and sandwiches. Drinks: Frozen mojito and piña colada were the most popular. Aperol and a coffee liqueur cocktail were also ordered a lot. Drinks weren’t watered down, and they didn’t overload on ice (which is often a trick at other all-inclusives). Beer was on tap at bars; bottled beer only in the room’s minibar. Service & pace: Staff were kind and helpful, but the island pace is slower than some might expect. Meals, for example, are served step by step—you’re offered water, then drinks, and only after that do you order food. Not a problem, unless you’re in a rush. Same for the bars. We learned to order multiple drinks at once, which helped. Activities: Fun animation team. Our group joined painting classes, beach volleyball, pool games, and water polo. Evening shows were also available. Some guests went diving with the on-site diving school and had a very positive experience with good instructors and new equipment. Hotel infrastructure: The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport. Easy to find taxis (most are large vans, $20 to the city center). The property is well maintained. The lobby is open-air with plenty of seating. There’s a glass elevator to the beach. The pool is large, and there’s a separate kids' area (which is great). The beach is small but stunning—clear water and tons of fish, even in the shallow area, perfect for snorkeling. There’s a hot jacuzzi in a quieter area near the gym, and an infinity pool with sunset views. Some guests used the gym and liked it—modern equipment and a great view. The spa was very relaxing—we did the hot stone massage and loved it. Wedding experience: We were lucky to have Indiomar coordinating our wedding. He was responsive, flexible, and calm, both during planning and on the big day. He tailored the details to our preferences and executed everything beautifully. The wedding was flawless. Arrival & welcome: Since we were a large group, we were welcomed with cold towels and sparkling wine. We had a welcome meeting to explain how the resort worked and to handle check-in. Some rooms were delayed, but the staff offered lunch and drinks while we waited. It could’ve been a downside, but it was handled fairly well. All-Inclusive: For us, it was worth it. Food and especially drinks are expensive outside the resort. We did a couple of excursions (one day visiting beaches around the island and another to Klein Curaçao), but most days we enjoyed relaxing at the hotel. It was a great mix of adventure and rest. Final thoughts: We’d honestly choose the same resort again. The slower service is a weak point, yes, but everything else—location, beach, food, cleanliness, and staff kindness—makes up for it. We travel a lot and wanted our guests to have a great Caribbean resort experience—and they did. When I read old negative reviews, I truly don’t recognize the resort we experienced. Thank you, Dreams Curaçao, for an incredible week! We hope many others will discover this improved and welcoming version of you.

Don’t waste your money
I was hesitant to stay here with my daughter after reading reviews, but we hoped that the experience would be worth the chance and we were so wrong. This hotel is in need of some serious changes to their approach to customer service and to the facilities as a whole. We upgraded to the preferred club in hopes of receiving an elevated experience and to have the opportunity to use the “preferred club” and “adults only infinity pool” which led us to believe it would be an elevated experience and that we would have access to the new pool near Il Mare. The preferred club is a huge waste of money, and the only pool you get access to is the same pool where anyone and everyone can go, as no one monitors or restricts kids. The preferred club beach area is a joke; half the loungers are broken and missing cushions, only one day bead had all the curtain rods up and most were work, dirty, and missing pillows and anyone has access to use this area as it is not monitored in any way. The check in experience with the preferred club was especially disappointing as the gentleman proceeded to flirt with my daughter and asked me if she was a good girl or bad because he was looking for a partner in crime, and continued to flirt with her and make us both uncomfortable. Twice during our stay, there were no limes, mint or other garnishes for drinks, the snacks sat out for hours on end when we asked to have a empty bottle replaced and soda water refilled we were made to feel like it was a bother to staff. Aside from check in, not one time were we greeted by female staff upon entering or exiting the area or spoken to in any way, as staff seemed not procured with their personal conversations. The poor service carried over to the female bar staff, who were incredibly unfriendly and also made us feel like we were a burden anytime we politely asked for a drink. The only good interaction we had with any female staff was with the lovely hostess at the morning buffet. The lunch buffet is awful with cheap, low quality food and the room service food is even worse; microwaveable pizzas, overcooked fish, and a grilled cheese and what tastes like cheap canned soup took over an hour to be delivered. On our second night, two of the restaurants weren’t even open, and we had to leave to get a decent meal for dinner. Half the equipment in the gym is broken, including the treadmills and weight machines, there are no towels, no cold water, and most of the dumbbells are missing the matching set of weights. The pool area is also showing major signs of age, with pieces of wood board sticking up that catch your feet or make you trip/stub your toes and many of the chairs are broken. The most disappointing factor by far was the false hope of an upgrade experience at the preferred club and most notably the complete lack of customer service and we felt like the female staff in particular had no concern for providing a good experience and act like any request is a complete inconvenience to them, again with the exception of a hostess and the gentleman who did pool activities during the day who did seem to embrace providing a great time to the guests. For the price of our stay, we felt this hotel showed no value and we would never return nor would we recommend anyone stay here until there is a major shift in the level of service and a major overhaul to the facilities.

Worth a try
The bungalows at Dreams Il Mare are great but the butler service was lacking. The food was OK. The other staff were nice. We also had access to Zoetry restaurants and the food their was ok. However, the beach access from.the bungalows made the entire trip well worth it. I would gladly stay at Il Mare again. I'll just ask for a different butler.

Hopeful 2026
Dreams Curacao reviews are a bit deceptive - the good ones usually refer to the new Il Mare Adults Only section - guests at the original resort are not allowed to go onto that property - there is an actual security guard preventing this - guest at the original resort are also prohibited from eating at Il Mare or Zoetry, even though the food at Dreams is edible at best - the birds were not an issue for us - loved being outside since it was snowing at home I have asked Hyatt to separate the reviews for the two properties that are actually beside each other, Il Mare and Dreams Curacao (Zoetry is up the street a bit), but so far they have not done so - all reviews about the outdoor furniture and towels are true - hopefully soon to be remedied. The entertainment staff at Dreams were fabulous, there was always something going on (not sure about ocean sports) - our room was very clean but housekeeping was inconsistent - towels seemed to be an issue both inside and out! The Dreams property is beautiful - gardening staff work very hard all day - the pool is gorgeous, and vacuumed cleaned each morning I will be returning next year with much hope that significant changes have been made.

I Would Definitely Return
If you choose this property, choose the Il Mare Bungalows. They're really nice and come with butler service. If you can get Sudry as your butler, you will NOT be disappointed. She was AMAZING! I traveled with other family, and between us, we had a total of four bungalows. Unfortunately, the service wasn't consistent between us. My butler was great. My sister's butler was nonexistent. My cousin's and the other couple , their butler was okay. Apparently, each bungalow should have a bottle of Blue Curaçao, bittle of champagne, a cheese plate, a Snickers Bar, and some Pringles. We didn't have any Pringles nor did my cousin. We didn't get a cheese plate, but one was sent a bit later My sister didn't have any Blue Curaçao. Food was decent. I wasn't blown away, but I definitely didn't starve. Drinks, whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic, were DELICIOUS! Bungalows are spacious and situated right on the beach. They also come with a dedicated pool, restaurant, and bar. All were nice. Casino was a little on the crappy side. Very outdated and not inviting, but I'm not a gambler of that magnitude, so it wasn't a deal breaker. Other staff were kind and helpful. Any issue I had, my butler took care of it.
