COZUMEL, Mexico (November 30, 2005)
A fully renovated El Cid La Ceiba Beach Hotel will open its doors,
March 15, 2006, in Cozumel.
"The El Cid La Ceiba will be remodeled entirely, using the
highest standards of excellence," says Carlos Berdegue, CEO of El Cid
Resorts. His announcement followed a
comprehensive evaluation by El Cid Construction Company of hurricane-related
damages.
All hotel common areas, including the pools, restaurants, and beaches,
will be rebuilt from scratch, according to Berdegue. Room interiors will be refurbished as well, with brand new
appliances and luxurious furnishings.
"I'm confident that guests will see and feel the difference
immediately," Berdegue notes.
"We'll actually be going up a notch in quality, with no expense
spared. All this will come at no
additional cost to our guests."
Cozumel city officials have joined forces to restore tourist
services as quickly as possible. Water
and electricity have been fully restored to the island, and airport service has
increased steadily. In addition, many
cruise ships have resumed service to the island. Numerous dive sites have reopened too, and the majority of
island-certified dive operators are back open for business.
"Our goal is to come back stronger than ever," Berdegue
asserts. "We can't wait to present
the new face of El Cid La Ceiba. The
magnificent new hotel, combined with the great hospitality and service of our
employees, will enable us to remain a top choice of our guests."
