the resort peacock was weakening us up every morning at 5:30 AM one night we could not sleep because our neighbors upstairs and downstairs were having a very loud party in their balconies. Called the guest service but the party continued till 2:00 am. You felt like you were lodging in a cheep motel..

The hotel, staff and food are top notch, but there was no useable beach since it was caked with seaweed so deep that it came up to the workers knees. There was no watersports or adventures available as a result. It rained 85% of the time and there were no activities to do since most were weather dependent. The challenges we had with the forgotten reservation for our special dinner were settled in a professional and helpful manner.

Zoetry resort was amazing. We had a honeymoon package and not a single meal or interaction went by that our celebration wasn't celebrated! The staff at the resort make it their mission to remember you as a person, your favorite foods and how you like things. We felt so welcome and accommodated. Apple made this vacation so relaxed and no stress at all.

We loved this beautiful and beautifully maintained resort. Relaxation is key with only 90 rooms, limited guests, and very few children. Magnificent rooms all with ocean view. Staff is extremely accommodating. We would love to go back.

The staff at Zoetry were extremely accommodating! They were always in a good mood, & friendly! The food was great! The rooms were some of the nicest rooms we have stayed in, very spacious. We had room service for breakfast a couple times and the food came within 30 minutes each time with fresh flowers and everything we could have wanted or needed. The grounds were nicely maintained and great atmosphere! We will definitely return!

First Impressions Are Everything

My fiancée and I booked our trip relatively soon to departure after another exhausting work week. We were searching for an upscale, romantic and relaxing experience that was quick and easy to get to for just a few days. Zoetry had great pricing and we were thrilled to find it and excited for the trip. Jolly Trolley picked us up at or home – no way we wanted to drive to the airport at 4am! Easy drive, easy check –in, easy flight and we landed in Cancun ahead of schedule. We weeded through all of the people trying to sell us excursions in the airport and searched until we found an apple rep. He did not have our name on his arrivals clipboard but once we said Zoetry he took us right to our private hotel shuttle where they offered us water and sparkling wine and off we went. It was a quick and easy trip to Zoetry. When we checked in there were 2 front desk agents. One was busy and one was taking care of us. They went through our items and handed over keys to a room with, and I quote, “two double beds”. I quickly said no, we had booked a room with a King. The guys helping us said no, its 2 doubles and the other gentleman jumped in and said it’s a room with 2 queen beds. Upon hearing that my husband said we can make that work. We got a tour of the hotel and then were loaded into a golf cart and taken to our room. All of the rooms in the resort are suites and have sweeping ocean views - stunning! Of course at that time I noticed there were in fact 2 double beds. We unpacked some and went to find lunch and then circled back to the front desk where I asked to be moved. I was informed I needed to “prove” in my paperwork that I had requested a King Bed. My apple paperwork didn’t spellit out. That night, my fiancée and I spent the first night of our vacation in separate beds. Not very romantic. In the morning I went again to the front desk. I was told then, without the gentleman ever looking at a computer or knowing what I had spent, that it was $100 more to upgrade. I told him I was trying to reach my travel agent to confirm our booking anyway. That was at 9am. At 2pm we had eaten lunch and wanted to nap. We went back to the room hoping to have a message that we were being moved. We did not. Not knowing what to do I went to the front desk, again. At that point I was completely stressed out. After ranting about the room I was told there had been a room for us and they had been waiting for me to come to the front desk. Why on earth would you wait instead of reaching out to us on the property or leaving a message for us in our room. Every other part of our journey was so wonderful that this part being bad manages to tarnish it all. The food and beverage at the restaurant is hands down the best food I have ever had at an all-inclusive! We were always asked by the attentive staff if there were any allergies or preferences and all items were noted with vegetarian, healthy, or gluten free. All changes I asked for were quickly and easily accommodated. The margaritas were amazing. My fiancée enjoyed his first ever pina colada pool side! The wine cellar features fantastic wines from all over the world and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy our favorite French wines while eating delicious Mexican inspired dinners! One of the other features that really makes this hotel stand out for me is the marina. We had an all-day boat excursion to Isle Mujeres included as was an evening Catamaran cruise for approx. 1.5 hours with sparkling wine. There was an entire fleet and professional crew ready with a large selection of boats and trips or plan your own. Yoga is offered every day and Fabby who teaches it is friendly and warm and works with everyone; from faithful practitioners to those who just want to try it out. Gym was small but user friendly. We had to wait a few times for a piece of cardio equipment. The earlier you go the better of course. The spa was overpriced, being almost double what we are used to living in an upscale resort town. We did not opt to use any of the services. We did hear some guests who used it raving about it. We would absolutely go back and make more use of the marina and enjoy the exceptional food and beverage team but we would confirm our room type 3 times beforehand and I will share this story with everyone so they don’t have the same situation, which I believe will just discourage some people from booking.

Please do not ever send anyone to that terrible resort. It was the biggest waste of money which I plan to get reimbursed for the nightmare. The pictures are false advertisement. I only went for the beach. The beach was worst than a pond. I took tons of pictures to prove it. I called And complained the day we arrived and Bridgee; some lady from ddds department was so unbelievably rude. I was so upset and she just talked down to me. She did send Hugo from Ameristar to meet me the next day at 11. I spent more money on this vacation thinking I would do something really nice to celebrate my birthday on the 17th and for what? I got nothing out of it but a headache. One disaster after another. Zoetry is a joke. The pictures on Apple website are false advertisement. If those pictures were even ever accurate then they must be from 5 or more years ago. When I researched places to stay my main concern was the beach. All I wanted was to walk out to the beach with my kids and look both directions and see nothing but white sand and that pretty blue water. Zoetry advertises this but it is not accurate. They also advertise in wellness, boat rides, etc and that is not the case either. I arrived on Saturday July 15th. Our plane was an hour delayed so by the time we arrived to the resort it was about 11:30-12. Our room was not ready and they told us it would be around 3. They held our bags outside on the curb in the direct sunlight. No one greeted us to tell us what we could do while we waited. I had no idea where anything was. I wanted to get my kids and myself something to eat since we had been up since 3:45 am. It appeared that everyone was too bothered to accommodate us. We grabbed some food at the pool bar and a iguana jumped on my bag. Those things along with birds are everywhere. They claimed they would find me when my room was ready. It would have been nice if they would have made us feel welcomed. I let the kids swim in the pool which had very loud annoying parrots at both ends. They are beautiful birds but the noise is obnoxious and that is all that you hear because there is not any music. I could tell people were annoyed. They had a coconut hour that would have been nice to know about since it is only on Saturdays. When I think about a wellness resort, I think about fresh juices and healthy smoothies and this place did not offer any or that. After grabbing some food and trying to kill time before I could get organized we checked out the beach and I was in shock at how awful it was. We have lakes and ponds back home that look better. I could not believe my eyes when I saw this. What make me more mad is that I talked to a couple of Apple reps before I left on this trip and I even called the resort before I left to ask about the beach since this was my main concern. When I called Zoetry to set up my airport transfers I had asked about the beach and if they provided sand toys for my kids. Zoetry told me that they had sand toys for them, which I actually packed an entire separate bag of sand toys and snorkel gear. At that time they should have mentioned the terrible seaweed problem they have. I had to go to the front desk at 3 and ask about our room. At this point I am beyond upset. I am pretty much in tears that I just spent almost $6000 for a total dump. Not to mention my room has a huge bird house for those noisy parrots out the front door. I had the room with the plunge pool which I did not want because I was supposed to be able to upgrade for free but when I booked supposedly that was the only room available, which the resort was not crowded so I have a hard time believing that. to think I had to pay more for the plunge pool room to be right by the huge bird cage. I called Apple to complain. I tried to call the insurance that I purchased but trying to make and receive phone calls while in Mexico is difficult. I had tried both numbers for that Avok insurance and I just got a recording. After talking to Apple's customer service, which she was nice but then I was transferred to Bridgee from a DDDS department and she was the most awful lady I have ever spoke with on the phone that is supposed to be in customer service. I really hope that our conversation was recorded for training purposes. I am upset that I did not record the conversation myself. She was soo rude and hateful. She was like " I told you to go to the front desk and talk to them and I told you that the apple rep will be there in the morning". Which the front desk said they do not have an apple rep there ever. At that point it being the first day I had spend several hours on the phone trying to figure out what to do. My kids were In bed and I had wasted the entire evening trying to figure out how to get out of there. I was told that Hugo from Ameristar would meet me at 11am on Sunday 16th. Also the pool guys had started taking the cushions down from around the pool at 5:45 and all I wanted to do before I went back to the room to start making phone calls was to just sit and relax for 10 minutes. The pool guy seemed bothered that I asked him to put a cushion back. I asked for a towel to put down and he looked around and said " I am sorry we do not have anymore for today". It was then that I thought to myself and was like " I just spent $6000 for this terrible beach and I cannot even get a towel"!!! So then Sunday I kill time and waste more of my vacation waiting for Hugo. I tried to go to the gym which was pathetic. My home gym is better. Again, I thought this was a wellness resort. The treadmills stop in the middle of my running. I tried two different machines. Hugo does arrive at 11am and he was really nice to talk to. I explained everything and I said I wanted a beach like described. He said that there was nothing he could really do since it was Sunday and that reservation departments are closed on Sundays. Which to me does not make any sense. People check in every day of the week. I said I want to move to a different resort. Again we came here for the beach. I have a pool at home. He then told me to go to Apple website and search for some resorts that I would like to go to. I am thinking "Seriously" I am on vacation and that takes hours to do. I had send hours and hours before I came to Mexico doing that. I just randomly picked some locations along the hotel zones in Cancun and said I just want what is described. Hugo said he would get back to me about the cost of switching. I stated that I am not interested in paying anything more. I have already forked out $6000 for this place that is misrepresented. Hugo said he would get back to me. I told him that my birthday was the next day and this is not how I had planned on celebrating it and that we were leaving on the morning of the 19th so time is running out. At this point the day so far has been wasted and I wanted out of there with my kids. I went into the reception area and told them again how upset I was that their beach was not as described. How they won any awards is beyond me. For what? I told them again that I came there for the beach and what am I supposed to do? So they suggested I take a cab to Playa Delfines Cancun. So I pack up the sand toys and a beach bag which again defeats the purpose. That is soo much extra work for me and now I do not have food since they are sending me to some public beach. They made a box lunch for the kids. turkey/cheese sandwich and some fruit in a paper bag. The cab ride cost me $100 round trip. We get to the beach and it is sooooo crowded its awful. Again I thought I picked a nice quiet private resort to relax on and here I am in the middle of the locals public beach with two kids by myself. I could not even enjoy myself because I was afraid to leave my bag unattended so I could not enjoy anything with my kids. I wanted to get back to see if they could switch me to another resort. When we arrived back I asked the gentlemen in the reception area his thoughts about the beach since the beach there was disgusting. I have attached many pictures. I love taking pictures and documenting everything and this is the first time I have nothing to show for it other than all of the pictures documenting how horrible it was. So the reception guy sells me on seeing a Tulum and beach and Xenote on my birthday. I had high hopes that my day would be better. The reception guy showed me pictures and said it would be very good. This however was going to cost me $200 round trip. It was not about the money it is the fact that the idea was not to leave the resort. It was supposed to be convenient to stay there. So on the 17th which is our 3rd day we took the cab ride over an hour away to the Tulum. I assumed no one was going to back to me about switching resorts and if they did it would probably be time to go home. I was almost tempted to just book 2 nights at the Ritz or the JW Marriot or something. We get to this Tulum and the cab driver says he will wait for us. This made me extremely nervous. I really did not understand what we were doing. There were people everywhere. Here I am by myself with a 6 & 10 year old. We start walking which is about a 10 minute walk. There are tons of people forming a line. There was no way I was going to wait in line. It was so unclear what we were doing. YOu would have thought that the cab driver would have been our guide or that Zoetry would have set that up. So basically we just used the restroom and headed back to the cab that drove us around the corner to the beach that we were promised was amazing. After all we just drove over an hour to get there. The cab driver parks and says just call me when you are ready. I am like- my phone may or may not work. I made him walk with us to the beach and thank goodness I did- It was filled with seaweed too. I was like forget it and now I am beyond upset again that we have wasted yet another day which was my birthday this time in a taxi. I said forget it lets just go back. The driver did stop at a Xenote on the way which was really super crowded and I could not get in and just leave our bags unattended. It was not safe. I asked the driver to take us back to the beach we went to yesterday but he said no so I called Zoetry and told them the situation and how upset I was that we just wasted over 2 hours for nothing. They talked to the driver and had him take us to the same beach as yesterday. We did not go to the same exact beach but it was close. At this point it was getting late in the afternoon. We were again surrounded by locals and seaweed was everywhere. When we finally got back at the Zoetry place I just wanted to get dinner since I did not have any food really. Zoetry packed some stuff in a paperbag. They said they did not have any ice or small cooler for us. So yesterday, Tuesday being the last day we just sat at the pool with nothing else to do. There was no way I was going to be stuck in a long cab ride again for some crowded beach. At the pool they had some ceramic painting table that was also set up on the first day that we were there and the kids painted a small ceramic box. So yesterday they told them they would have to pay to paint something. Also- I was under the impression that I would have a $200 resort credit that I tried to use and never seemed to be able to. I had to ask Zoetry about it, never did they once offer it to me or a boat ride or anything for that matter. They did not offer anything. They did not have nice land scaping or scenery or anything. The room may have been spacious but I have stayed at resorts that were a fourth the price and they offered ten times as much. The trip was terrible, it was soo disappointing. There is no way I am going to fork out $6000 for that place. I have already posted on so many social media sites on how terrible that resort is. I do not want anyone to waste their money on that place. I have not posted about Apple Vacations. I am assuming that we will come to an agreement for a refund. I have never written a bad review or posted anything negative on social media until now. I am beyond upset that my trip was a disaster. I was looking forward to this trip more than anything. I could probably list about 20 more negative things. Please contact me 314-307-8055. I want to dispute the entire thing. Another thing I was told was that the seaweed is out of there control. Which I can understand that but it should be noted and pictures should be updated. They are not even close to being accurate.

EXCELLENT Resort. Cannot say enough good things. If you want a beautiful, quiet, relaxing resort, this is your resort. We were on our honeymoon and could not have been happier with our choice. Food OUTSTANDING!! Alicia went above and beyond to make our private dinner memorable, even though the weather did not cooperate, it turned out better than the beach! We enjoyed Fransico, "The Cheese Man," as we called him. Gorge made our last evening on the resort fun and memorable. The only negative comment we have is the high pressure we received to tour Secrets Maroma Beach. We were contacted three times by someone, even found us at the pool, pressuring us to go. We were told, only 90-minutes, and no-high pressure sales. Absolutely incorrect. It was two hours and had three high-pressure sales people who would not take no. We were livid when we left there. We wasted a morning of our honeymoon for this. While we received a spa certificate and the spa was awesome, this was VERY disappointing. We could not believe that Zoetry, the class resort that it is, would subject their guests to this type of treatment and pressure them to waste their time with this nonsense! That is the ONLY negative comment we have. As I said before, outstanding resort, went above and beyond all our expectations. That is the ONLY negative

Beautiful hotel let down by poor housekeeping

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Lots of wildlife - parrots, peacocks, lizards of all sizes, even a crocodile all on site. However housekeeping was poor. Poor replenishment of supplies - shampoos etc, toothpaste, coffee, glasses. Even laundry stated to be 24 hour turnaround was often 48 hours. All this needed us to constantly chase. Even complaining did not change things so gave up so asnot to waste holiday time.

This is my husband’s and my sixth visit to Zoetry. After all these years they have been able to consistently present a fabulous experience for their guests. The secret to Zoetry’s sucess is surely the people. They are so kind and warm. They seem to smile with all their heart.

Lovely place. Very relaxing and peaceful. Outstanding staff. I contacted the manager before visiting and she made sure everything was perfect for our stay. Food and service were very good. Staff was very attentive. Love this place and will visit again.

My Wife and I returned for our 15th visit to this Zoetry and our stay was better than ever... We stayed in an impressions suite with a pool on our balcony, personal Chef in the “red kitchen”.. the room was amazing, food was exceptional but the best part was the staff... our personal butlers Carlos, Edgar and Issac were very attentive and polite. They were always there tending to our every need. Victor, Frederico, Francisco, Antonio, Andreas, Manual and everyone else from the world class chefs to the house keeping staff made our home away from home special. This place is heaven on earth and we highly recommend it... as a matter of fact we are planning our next visit and will make many return trips to our Home... thank you to Mr. Goslin and his Family for their continued Hospitality...

My friends and I recently enjoyed our third stay at Paraiso de la Bonita. We had some problems but the extent to which management responded to our issues was extraordinary. These are people with exceptional integrity. It is a pleasure to be treated with such a grand level of service. They lived up to their reputation as a five-star property. We look forward to many more enjoyable visits.
