Great week at this hotel ! Everybody was very nice. What a great animation team ! Big thanks to Jordan, Lima, Carlos, Chocolate and the ladies, Nicki, Mary, Jennifer and the best singer on that team ! They are all amazing. Simply love Latina musica ! Also great to have yoga on the site. Please remind people to change towel after session because mosquitos are pretty hungry ! Yoga shouldn't be on the grass on my review. Room was very nice and well cleaned. The whole site is clean. Food is great and the buffet have plenty of choices everyday. Great staff there too. Drinks could be better in tasting and have a full glass. Unfortunately, too much wind to enjoy fully the ocean with kayak and I'll need to go back ! Would be great to have local artist to sell their own creation.

Great vacation

Hi. My husband and I (early 50's) went for a week in early August and truly enjoyed our experience. Due to the seaweed problem in Punta Cana we opted to try another destination - hence found ourselves in Samana - and had no regrets. Beautiful and lush part of the country. You feel you are truly on an exotic island (as compared to the grandiose mega resorts crammed side by side in Punta Cana) The resort is smaller and more intimate than we have been used to - which is really a positive thing as this resort truly is geared towards relaxation. Rooms were very clean and nice - good housekeeping service. Nice bathroom. Just big enough for 2 people. Adequate storage (closet and night stands). Majority of the rooms have a view of the ocean to some degree. Ground floor mini pool rooms are not worth it in my opinion. Very little privacy and not a good view of the ocean - honesly I see where they were going with this room category but it failed. Beach and pool were wonderful - getting shade was a bit tricky and required us to wake up super early (6-7AM) in order to get a spot with adequate shade all day. Other than that the ocean is spectacular, and pool beautiful. Food was excellent in our opinion. Not as much variety as in the larger resorts but that goes with reason - less people / less variety, however, the quality was very very good. Same with the drink - excellent quality. Bring your large insulated cups as the ones they provide are extremely small and flimsy and the warm air will warm up your drink in no time. Entertainment still were lovely - there was always something happening somewhere and you could be as involved or as un-involved as you prefer. Shout out to the amazing Gizzy - miss you honey and hoping you're well! Bring mosquito repellent with a good degree of deet - you will need it especially if you are eating dinner in the restaurants down near the beach. My only gripe was the evening entertainment - or lack thereof. They had really good evening entertainment (singers, etc.) in the lobby BUT they stopped at 10PM. After that you had a choice of returning to your room or going to the "disco" - which is an indoor airconditioned space with horribly loud and horrible music - assuming you are 40 plus of age or more - which the majority of the guests are. The evenings would be much more enjoyable if they would have outdoor evening entertainment until at least 11PM - and convert the disco to simply a bar for drinks after is outdoor noise is a concern. Really - hardly anybody was ever in the disco - only the ones who were bored silly and figured that it was better than nothing. TV - we had literally one english channel - maybe. Fortunately we brought a laptop and unplugged the hdmi going to the cable box to our laptop and watched netflix in english. I wouldn't bother with the tour/bus into Las Terrenas - nothing much to see in my opinion - or worth even the walk around. We walked around and ended up buying lunch and a couple of drinks while we waited for the return bush (which was surprisingly pretty expensive - which we could have had back at the hotel for free!!!) We were truly happy with this resort and highly recommend to others BUT would have to think twice about coming back because of lack of evening entertainment that is suitable for us. 10PM bedtime is way too early and we just aren't the rap music/disco kind of people.......I hope they change something in this respect in the future.

Great week
