Outstanding Botique Hotel in Puerto Vallarta!
ROBERT M.
Jan 14 2017
My partner and I had an outstanding "all inclusive" experience at the Villa Premiere Botique Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, January 2-9, 2017. This was the first time we have stayed at this "gem" of a hotel and we now will be returning to this little piece of Mexican paradise every year from now on! We used to stay at a much larger hotel out in the "Hotel Zone", but there is no comparison to the Villa Premiere (VP)! This is a lovely, much smaller and more intimate elegant hotel. The staff is wonderful--courteous, upbeat and genuinely friendly. Our Honeymoon Suite was fabulous with our private roof-top jacuzzi and beautiful view of the pool area, beach and the Pacific Ocean. The room was impeccably clean, thanks to the attentive staff, and we enjoyed twice daily visits of the staff to refresh towels, clean the room, and for bed turn-down service. Our butler prepared our jacuzzi, including lighting the candles on the roof-top terrace, which we totally enjoyed as a way to relax before turning in for the evening. The three restaurants all were gourmet quality with delicious entrees artfully presented with outstanding service. The pools were great, and we enjoyed the poolside bar in the smaller of the two pools for afternoon refreshments and snacks. One evening all three restaurants were closed and instead there was a five course "Vintage Dinner" poolside, complete with candle-lit tables and the large pool lined with luminaries, making for a lovely evening as we enjoyed our gourmet dinner under the stars. The Ceiba Restaurant is open air next to the beach and served lovely breakfasts. I ordered Mexican breakfasts each day and they were delicious! The La Corona and Murales restaurants also were top notch and the servers at all three restaurants were attentive, professional and made us feel very welcome, as did the staff and concierges in the lobby. A very nice touch was a complimentary glass of champagne as we arrived from the airport during our short wait to check in as there were other couples ahead of us checking in. Upon our departure, we were given a small bag of cookies with "Have a nice trip" printed on the outside. It was these and many more little touches to detail that really made our stay such a fabulous and memorable one. We can't wait until we return next January! Also, our transfer between the airport and the hotel was right on time and very smooth, thanks to the Apple Vacation's representatives attention to detail. Thank you!

We can't say enough about the hotel, accomodations, food and service The food was strictly gourmet. yet we enjoyed many excellent Mexican dishes. The staff was exceptional in every way. Our room and bath were clean and the view was beautiful. We will certainly recommend the hotel and hope to return soon. We have been to PV and to many other hotels, and we both agree this was the best. The location being downtown was exactly what we were looking for.

Hotel was great, Apple was a little disappointing

We were on our honeymoon and Apple offered the option of "honeymoon package." We were disappointed to find out that the hotel did not honor this, and were expecting just a little something special. We were also disappointed that Apple quoted us $640 for an upgrade to all inclusive and we were told that we didn't need to make the upgrade right away, when we called before our trip we were told that we needed to change the reservation directly through the hotel, when we got to the hotel suddenly the upgrade was $800. We contacted Apple and were told there was nothing that can be done. Overall the hotel was wonderful, just disappointed in Apple.

Your staff should be updated on hotel information. For example, pool hours are later than told by Apple rep.; Apple rep. was not clear on what the hotel meant by "all inclusive".I called the hotel to find out directly from them. As to hotel bar service, it was non-existant. Maid service often had to be reminded for face cloths and hand towels. The tours were not adequately explained as in the hike to the falls in Yalapa...should have been told a steep hike and wear proper shoes...several people almost fell. But it was a good trip and thank you!

At check-in, which was late due to Frontier Airlines getting us to PV two hours late, we were told there were no rooms with king beds. The next day we upgraded for $240 less our $50 room credit. Found out hotel was only 40% full which basically meant they could have given us a free upgrade when we checked in with a king bed. Our room Saturday overlooked a vacant lot which wasn't very pretty. Staff at check in were very indifferent. Food at restaurant good but limited. Only one restaurant open per night. Frontier Airlines late coming and going. On departure date, Apple rep never informed us flight would be delayed until midnight and then finally cancelled until after we were at airport. Other passengers stayed in their hotels and were then shuttled to another hotel for the evening. We basically had to sit at airport from 6:30 pm to approx. 9:30 p.m. Never will fly Frontier again. They were also late leaving Sunday. We had a hotel in Chicago overnight and lost that money. After being up 15 hours on Sunday, we had to drive 4 hours home to Iowa. Not a pleasant experience. No one seemed to care. No Apple rep at airport on Sunday to let us know the plane would once again be delayed from 10 a.m. to noon departure.

A comfortable hotel. Good location.

We just returned from a very pleasurable time at the Villa Premiere. The hotel was small and quiet with a few nice perks (like turn down service, good food, and great beach towels). The pool area is on the smaller side, but I never had trouble finding a chair and people were very respectful with noise level, so it was a very relaxing place. Plus, it may seem like a small thing, but the beach towels they provided were great- huge and fluffy. We'd actually brought our own because I hate when hotels give you small, dinky towels, so this was a nice surprise. The beach was okay, but very rocky and there was a strong current when we were there, so it was not good for swimming. Even without the strong current though, it wouldn't be too safe for swimming- too many rocks! We were on the European plan and were really happy with it!!! There are MANY great restaurants and taco stands close by, and it was nice to get out and explore. We did eat the the hotel several times, and found the food to be quite good and very reasonable. We stayed in the honeymoon suite; the room and bathroom were pretty small and standard, but the deck and outdoor tub more than made up for it (if you are looking for a luxurious room though, this was not it). If you're looking for a resort feel with discos and entertainment and lots of activity this is not it. But if you want a comfortable, quiet place to stay and are the kind of traveler who likes to get out and see things- this is a great hotel.

Problems

We liked the hotel itself but had several problems. Our key card would not work consistently in the door lock and we went repeatedly to the fromt desk and even talked to the manager. The porblem was not solved until the 5th day of our 7 day stay. Also, the phone did not work properly, the promissed hot tub in the "honeymoon suite" was not functioning and we had to ask for service to fixe the light on our patios. Also, the airconditioner was uncomfortable loud.

The resort I believe tried to be too fancy. Every time you ate or had a drink you had to sign for what you ordered no matter how busy your waiter or bartender were. This to me was very annoining.

My husband and I came here on the all inclusive package. It was fantastic. Never had to carry around money (except for tips- although you can add the tips on the receipt and pay at the end) and was so easy. They had two or three restaurants which were included in the package and also the room service was too. The staff were amazing and the food and cocktails were also really good. Would definitely go back again

Good location, drinks, so-so food

I came here with a romantic interest to spend 3 nights and 4 days in PV. The hotel itself is really nice and centrally located. We both did the All Inclusive package but ended up eating most of our meals away from the hotel as the food was passable but nothing amazing. If we hadn't paid $100 per night per person for the all inclusive my review would be 5 stars. That said the guacamole was bland and lifeless (like what you get at your local supermarket), and the themed dinner night food was also limited. On Thursday it was Spanish night where there is a set menu. The food was delivered but it was lukewarm as everything was sitting out in hot plates just waiting to be plated. There was also little flexibility regarding the menu (my partner doesn't eat meat and there was no seafood option). Needless to say on Friday when it was Mexican night we skipped the set menu and went out to eat. You're able to have a great meal for two at an authentic restaurant for $30-40 in PV (including drinks). I would recommend taking this option as the food will be much tastier and you'll get to see more of the city. In the end all inclusive for us meant that we could drink all we wanted at the ocean or by the pool which was still great but we overpaid. The Hotel features an older crowd but we didn't feel out of place as 30 year olds.

Quiet and small resort, great food, fantastic beverages, super service. Beach is very nice. Bed very comfortable, room very clean. Close to Malecon and shopping. Close to airport. I would do European plan next time, lots of place to eat at reasonable rates close by

Lovely boutique hotel

I've been coming to PV for 25 years, courtesy of a timeshare I bought in my younger, foolish days. This was my first time staying in a hotel that was not a timeshare. I chose this hotel because the location sounded good and they offered a European plan where you don't have to pay for the all-inclusive food option (because really, why would you when you're surrounded by so many awesome places to eat). Upon our arrival and throughout our stay the staff was very friendly and helpful, always speaking to us when we left and returned. The hotel is a small boutique hotel that is first class. The small lobby is comfortable and inviting. We were given 5 minute chair massages while we waited for our room to be ready. We got a "deluxe room" which is apparently just a basic room. The room was very nice, marble floors, excellent pillow options, a cold air conditioner and a beautiful view of the ocean. My only complaint about the view is that we were on the 4th floor and just below our level was a canopy so we couldn't see below to the pool area, just the top of a brown canopy. That's what you get for a "basic room" I was told. If you want a room where you can see both the pool AND the ocean, you have to upgrade. Well, that's a minor complaint. They offer an aromatherapy menu where you choose a fragrance to be sprayed into your room. That was a unique offering, except it was only sprayed in the room when we arrived and never again. However, the stick of incense in the bathroom made up for it. Another unique feature. Too bad they didn't replace the incense after we burned it. One curious thing about the room is that they have 2 tiny closed trash cans with foot pedals-like you would have in the kitchen but 18 inches tall. That is super annoying in the bathroom and clumsy trying to open the tiny can with a big foot. Obviously not a deal breaker but an odd thing to have in a room that is so well appointed otherwise. The hotel is very quiet (it's adults only) which made everything more tranquil. The location of the hotel is excellent-easy walk to almost everything. It is on the beach but not a public beach so sitting in beach chairs listening to the waves was very relaxing. Overall, this is an outstanding hotel and we will definitely stay here again next year but maybe we will upgrade so we can get the full beautiful view of everything.

31st Birthday Here
Henry N,

Came here to celebrate my 31st birthday and got all inclusive The staff is excellent they are very informative and helpful from the concierge to the bartenders. Since this is a smaller hotel, the staff remembered my group throughout our trip and would greet and help us each day. The bartenders are great! they make some amazing, refreshing drinks. I was surprised with some of the drinks they made for us. There is a mint drink that was very refreshing. This place is more of an older crowd so it's quieter. But clubs and bars is in walking distance if you are looking to party. Rooms are facing the ocean so you'll get a nice view, you can hear the waves at night time which can be soothing for some or bothersome. Overall I had a great experience here. Food and drinks were good, good location for nightlife.
