Beautiful look, but everything else was cheap/low quality

Time share push was too much. Time they tell you is a lie. 90 min is 3.5hrs. Food was marginal. No place close, need a cab to go anywhere. Broken blow dryer in room. Overall quality poor. All inclusive is a bad deal.

Ruined my vacation

We arrived and our bellboy took our bags they were outside 30 min and we had to go pick them up ourselves. We checked in and when we went to our room we discovered that we did not get what we paid for. We paid extra for ocean view and had garden view instead we went and talked to them about it and they said it was the agencys fault (apple vacation). We also had joint rooms and did not get that either we spent the first 2 days trying to get what we paid for. Dulce the receptionist gave us attitude and rolled her eyes, when we would approach the desk she would say you again and roll her eyes. We spoke to an apple representative and he did not want to help us because he was "scared" he was going to get kicked out of the hotel. The service was horrible and we ended up getting whatever they wanted to give us. We had gotten this vacation for our anniversary and also to see a relative we hadnt seen in two years and it ruined our whole stay. Nonody tried to help us, they would just say its apple vacations fault and apple vacation did not help us out either . This is our second trip with this agency and we have one more in november we arent even looking forward to due to the bad serviced the hotel and the agency gave us

The hotel was gorgeous! The staff was eager to please, courteous, and efficient, with the exception of perhaps the front desk staff who were very slow and not quite as friendly. The food was mediocre. My one complaint: we did not know that this was a vacation ownership/timeshare facility. We experienced very high pressure to purchase a timeshare, attend a presentation that was supposed to be 90 minutes, but turned into almost four hours (lost vacation time). They were high pressure about this and we were pounced upon at the airport to schedule this presentation. I would consider this purchase, but was unaware that this was predominantly this type of resort and did not like the 'unrelenting pressure'. I would definitely return to this hotel/resort but think others should know what they are facing when they arrive as far as a strong sales push. The spa was beautiful. If one is looking for 'night life', this is not the place to go unless you go off of the property to nearby towns. Pretty much quiet and deserted by 9:00 p.m. and their lounge was in the lobby with seating for six people. Otherwise, a beautiful place with amazing pools.

Time share people galore...they are ruthless!
DAVID P.

We were there for my daughters wedding with 45 guests from all over the US. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean. The staff was wonderful and very attentative to our every need, especially Conrad. The food was just ok, with very little variety, especially the breakfast it was the same thing every morning, never changed. After we checked in, we were directed to another desk. They gave us a map and some information about taxis and shopping, then it was time for the time share speech. It was really a time share sales person, not hotel staff. When we told them we were not interested, they became very rude and the pressure to go on a tour was strong. My son arrived the next day, I went to greet them. They asked me where they should go and I pointed to the front desk. And then pointed to the other desk and told them that is where they needed to go to get their vouchers for the towels. I told them that they would get a pitch to go on a time share tour and if he didn't want to go they didn't have to. I guess they overheard me, I was then approached from one of the sales people from the time share and was given a really hard time for telling my son he didn't have to go. After all we were there for a vacation and vacations are never long enough. The time share people were all over the airport as well. After we got our bags, there was a long corridor that you need to go through before you get outside. There are people on both sides, telling you that they are your ride to your resort. When in fact they are time share people and are ruthless. Just some advise just tell them no and keep walking or don't even make eye contact and keep walking to the double doors. That is really where the ground transportation people are. It would have been helpful if we were told to look for the apple vacations people in the flowered shirts. Once we got to them it was smooth sailing. When we went shopping at the Mega Mart, we were greeted by a man asking us if we needed a cart and if he could help us find something. Again, time share person...they are all over. All in all it was a wonderful trip with many family and friends. I would definetly go back, but to a different resort. Just because of the variety of food.

Hotel was OK, but Time share ambush was deceptive, unprofessional and upsetting

I was very unhappy with the men who met me at the airport, pretending to be from the hotel, telling me I was getting a free breakfast, etc. and discounts on trips, when they were setting me up for a "timeshare" experience. They took money and I had trouble getting it back.

Beautiful property, but no free WiFi

This is a beautiful hotel, excellent location, friendly staff, great view from every room. We were approached by a sales person as soon as we finished checking in, for attending a sales presentation. In return we were offered 20% off on all purchases made in the hotel property. There is a small market in the premises, with 30-100% higher cost than other grocery stores, but if you accept to attend the presentation you can offset some of the cost. Your discount card won't work on their cab services and they are also 20% more expensive than the street cabs. We heard that Uber has a fairly good service and much cheaper than regular cabs. Internet service is very frustrating, first off, your room does not have free wifi, it cost $10 US per person, per day. The only free wifi is in the lobby, but it never worked for the length of the time we stayed there. Also we noticed other people frantically restarting their tablets or smart phones with the hopes of getting it work. Eventually we purchased a couple of SIM cards for our phones which only cost $25 for 30 days, and came with unlimited calls to Canada, Mexico and USA, as well as unlimited WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and SMS. Our room was a studio, included a kitchen with pots and pans, a stove, coffee maker, blender, dishes and various glasses. We also got a dresser with a tv, a king size bed, a large balcony, and a beautiful view. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and located in a safe neigbourhood. Recommended.

My husband and I recently (Nov/Dec 2018) returned from Villa Del Palmar Flamingos and it was absolutely fabulous. My husband parasailed, took paddle board lessons from Betty (who was fantastic), took dance lessons (again from the group including Betty). We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Presidential Suite because my bother-in-law is an elite member. It was incredible. The amenities were unbelievable, the balcony to die for, and the views were out of this world. We enjoyed the sunsets every night. We walked to Bucerias down the beach one evening and then taxied back. Taxis are abundant and inexpensive, even to and from the grocery stores. We loved feeding the lemur-like creatures that live in the wild outside the resort and the iguanas who live on the pool island. It was a fantastic trip and I highly recommend the VDP Flamingos. All staff are friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the elevator went out of service on our second day there and was not repaired the rest of the trip. It meant walking quite a way to the only other elevator in that building and lots of waiting since it was the only one for both guests and staff who needed it for maintenance and cleaning carts, etc. Since we were on the 8th floor, walking up the stairs every time was out of the question. I did it a couple of times, but some folks in our party simply could not. Overall, the stay was great. The breakfasts were amazing. We did all-inclusive for three days. Not sure I would recommend that since things are inexpensive and there are lots of places to eat nearby that are more cost effective. The pool area is gorgeous and we spent a lot of time sitting out there or on our balcony. We will probably return. Avoid the time share folks at all cost – they are even in the grocery stores. Just walk away and say no thanks!

Another excellent property by the Villa Group!! This is one of 12 spread around Mexico. My wife and I have owned a time share with these resorts since 2006 and love this property. Perfect getaway, more secluded than most but yet only @25 minutes drive into the busier town of Puerto Vallarta

A week of pampering in a beautiful resort.

A beautifully maintained resort with super-friendly staff. I REALLY am sick of spending my first day of vacation in a 5 hour sales pitch to invest even more so we can get a better room location, etc. Outstanding spa - clean, serene, had an excellent Swedish massage from Rosey. Food is ok - it's easy to stay there and have dinner, but better food and better value in Bucerias, a 10 minute cab ride.

The hotel is ok but not a wow experience. The pool is basic with nothing extra such as a floating river. If you just want to lay next to it, you’ll be fine if you don’t mind unsupervised children splashing you. I love kids so that isn’t the issue. Pool servers do a great job once they get to know you. WiFi is close to nonexistent. If you need to work or be available, this is not your place. The restaurants are not good. We paid for all inclusive so felt obligated to eat here. Even though we spent a lot of money for all inclusive, we still ate elsewhere several times. Also, all inclusive is not all inclusive. There are many restrictions so before you buy that package, ask for them in writing and make sure it meets your needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Be prepared for the up-sell and sales pitch at every encounter. Do not use the excursions office. You will be misguided and over charged. We, sadly, bought a membership to The Villa Group Resorts last year so are somewhat stuck unless we can sell it or walk away and accept the loss.
