Beautiful look, but everything else was cheap/low quality

Time share push was too much. Time they tell you is a lie. 90 min is 3.5hrs. Food was marginal. No place close, need a cab to go anywhere. Broken blow dryer in room. Overall quality poor. All inclusive is a bad deal.

We arrived and our bellboy took our bags they were outside 30 min and we had to go pick them up ourselves. We checked in and when we went to our room we discovered that we did not get what we paid for. We paid extra for ocean view and had garden view instead we went and talked to them about it and they said it was the agencys fault (apple vacation). We also had joint rooms and did not get that either we spent the first 2 days trying to get what we paid for. Dulce the receptionist gave us attitude and rolled her eyes, when we would approach the desk she would say you again and roll her eyes. We spoke to an apple representative and he did not want to help us because he was "scared" he was going to get kicked out of the hotel. The service was horrible and we ended up getting whatever they wanted to give us. We had gotten this vacation for our anniversary and also to see a relative we hadnt seen in two years and it ruined our whole stay. Nonody tried to help us, they would just say its apple vacations fault and apple vacation did not help us out either . This is our second trip with this agency and we have one more in november we arent even looking forward to due to the bad serviced the hotel and the agency gave us

The hotel was gorgeous! The staff was eager to please, courteous, and efficient, with the exception of perhaps the front desk staff who were very slow and not quite as friendly. The food was mediocre. My one complaint: we did not know that this was a vacation ownership/timeshare facility. We experienced very high pressure to purchase a timeshare, attend a presentation that was supposed to be 90 minutes, but turned into almost four hours (lost vacation time). They were high pressure about this and we were pounced upon at the airport to schedule this presentation. I would consider this purchase, but was unaware that this was predominantly this type of resort and did not like the 'unrelenting pressure'. I would definitely return to this hotel/resort but think others should know what they are facing when they arrive as far as a strong sales push. The spa was beautiful. If one is looking for 'night life', this is not the place to go unless you go off of the property to nearby towns. Pretty much quiet and deserted by 9:00 p.m. and their lounge was in the lobby with seating for six people. Otherwise, a beautiful place with amazing pools.

Time share people galore...they are ruthless!

We were there for my daughters wedding with 45 guests from all over the US. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean. The staff was wonderful and very attentative to our every need, especially Conrad. The food was just ok, with very little variety, especially the breakfast it was the same thing every morning, never changed. After we checked in, we were directed to another desk. They gave us a map and some information about taxis and shopping, then it was time for the time share speech. It was really a time share sales person, not hotel staff. When we told them we were not interested, they became very rude and the pressure to go on a tour was strong. My son arrived the next day, I went to greet them. They asked me where they should go and I pointed to the front desk. And then pointed to the other desk and told them that is where they needed to go to get their vouchers for the towels. I told them that they would get a pitch to go on a time share tour and if he didn't want to go they didn't have to. I guess they overheard me, I was then approached from one of the sales people from the time share and was given a really hard time for telling my son he didn't have to go. After all we were there for a vacation and vacations are never long enough. The time share people were all over the airport as well. After we got our bags, there was a long corridor that you need to go through before you get outside. There are people on both sides, telling you that they are your ride to your resort. When in fact they are time share people and are ruthless. Just some advise just tell them no and keep walking or don't even make eye contact and keep walking to the double doors. That is really where the ground transportation people are. It would have been helpful if we were told to look for the apple vacations people in the flowered shirts. Once we got to them it was smooth sailing. When we went shopping at the Mega Mart, we were greeted by a man asking us if we needed a cart and if he could help us find something. Again, time share person...they are all over. All in all it was a wonderful trip with many family and friends. I would definetly go back, but to a different resort. Just because of the variety of food.

I was very unhappy with the men who met me at the airport, pretending to be from the hotel, telling me I was getting a free breakfast, etc. and discounts on trips, when they were setting me up for a "timeshare" experience. They took money and I had trouble getting it back.

We acquired a groupon NOT FOR THIS PLACE, we got a groupon with their sister company further south in Puerto Vallarta. Upon arrival to their sister hotel we were informed that they do not have a room for us, and made us wait around upwards of an hour to take a 30 minute taxi north to Nuevo Vallarta. Their sister company said we would stay there for 1 night, and then would be made to go back south. They would "give us a breakfast for our troubles." Our vacation was only the weekend and was last minute, we absolutely did not want to waste that whole first night traveling on top of the whole of the beginning of the next day repacking and traveling back south. When we got to Villa del Palmar Flamingos we were very upset, and asked to speak with someone in management. After expressing our story and concerns both agents jumped to action to tell us that they were going to try their absolute best to get in touch with people who could help. They went out of their way to contact the reservations manager (and it was 11pm at this point, I think one of the gentleman is named Israel. Very sweet, great customer service.) By morning we got a phone call saying that we could stay there all 3 days, and we were all set. From there on out it was just enjoying the last 2 days of our vacation. The pools and resort were very clean, the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The only downside was that if you wanted to do a day of work the WiFi wasn't available in the rooms (or when it was working it was 10 dollars per device) and you had to go sit in the main lobby for WiFi (free but very spotty.) It seems like little things can be forgotten too like a TV remote or putting a phone in the room but if you let them know they'll quickly come to fix the problem. Walls also seem to be paper thin and families come here so be prepared to hear people screaming at 8am. Thank you Palmar Flamingos for turning our trip around.

Christmas in Paradise

This was our first year spending Christmas in Mexico. We arrived PVR airport on Christmas Eve. The resort is about a 20-30 minute drive from the airport. We took a taxi to the resort - price ranged from $30-$40. My husband was able to negotiate the price down to $30 - so negotiatate! As soon as we arrived at the resort, we were warmly greeted with a smile. Check in was quick. We were then directed to a group of ladies from the concierge for a brief information of the resort. There they offered us a few vouchers for complimentary drinks and of course they also informed us of the timeshare presentation. We’ve been through a few timeshare presentation, and I like the fact that they weren’t “pushy” at all. After talking with the ladies, we headed to our room. We booked this resort about a month before and was worried because we were uncertain of what room we were going to get. When we got there, all rooms have a view of the pool/beach/ocean. We were in tower two, 2nd floor. We booked a two bedroom suite with three bathrooms. It’s actually two connecting rooms. There’s a separate entrance for both room A and B. Rooms, kitchen, living and dining room, restrooms, and patio were kept very clean. There’s room service every day. We opt out on the “all inclusive” deal as we wanted to venture into town and try out different restaurants. We did have breakfast everyday at the resort. We ate at El Patron. It was very good. We love the omelet station. I wish they would have more variety of juices. They had orange juice, pineapple juice, and “green juice” - which was very good. We also had lunch at El Patron and ordered their seafood special. It was vey good and portioned well. My son enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries. We also tried their lunch “street” tacos. My husband had “pastor” tacos and he said it was good. My mom and I were not too impressed with the carne asada tacos. We did like the shrimp and fish taco though. They were pretty good. We joined the Christmas celebration as they served buffet dinner with varieties of food and bottomless drinks. Again, we weren’t too impressed with the food, however they did put on a good show. I liked that they got the guests involve to participate and the kids. We also had the pleasure of visiting the spa and got massages. The spa is a must. The gym had cable machines, free weights, dumbbells, elyptical, threadmill, and served refreshments with lots of towels. They had yoga classes too. The cab rates from the hotel are very affordable. $3-$4 to the Mega/Comer grocery. $5-$6 to Bucerias where they have very good restaurants. The resort has a mini mart/deli that’s open from 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM. Prices are very affordable and variety of souvenirs. The resort is maintained very well. The beach was packed - plenty of lounge chairs at the beach and in the pool area. They have one big pool with an area for kids. Overall, this resort is a great for family, but I would not recommend it for honeymooners. My only one complaint is the cell reception/WIFI. It’s very weak, even with the “paid” WIFI. Even having the international plan, it didn’t help, because of the reception. It wasn’t a big deal for us, but for my 16 year old son, it was a big deal for him not having good WIFI. Other than this, we have no other complaints. Now, would we ever come back to this resort? DEFINITELY!!! Staff were very friendly. Beds were comfortable. Resort is well maintained and beautiful. Food needs a bit improvement. Spa is amazing. Prices for this resort is well affordable. As a matter of fact we came back home, owning another timeshare.

Worst stay ever in puerto Vallarta to begin with we were offered a package of discounts and we would only have to do a supposedly called “TOUR” which was only an hour and a half which turned out 5 hours all a LIE!!! Which we ended up in a sales room trying to get a $60,000 membership sold. Which they were very insistive with. Made a complaint with staff and asked for a manager which was never available all they had to say was sorry, they didn’t bother to make our stay better. WiFi SUCKS. Food is not good at all not much variety only 2 restaurants. Activities for kids were not all inclusive like promised we had to pay for the kids to do paintings. Only positive is the SPA (massage) I would NEVER stay here again!! Even if they would give me free nights. If you are not a member you will get treated very differently! The all inclusive is NOT all inclusive you have to pay a portion for steak and lobster. Entertainment is very limited.

We vacationed here years ago for a duration of several weeks and found it perfect in all aspects. Passing through with an overnight stay proved to be equally perfect. We especially appreciate the balcony that allows privacy from other balconies as well as a slight view of the ocean. Our room even had a kitchen with a 2 burner stove, microwave, dishes, etc. However, we chose to eat lunch at their taco stand (labeling sauces with mild, medium or hot would be helpful) and enjoyed the breakfast buffet in their restaurant (a bit pricey by Mexican standards). Staff is reasonably versed in English and always helpful. Underground parking is secure with generous spaces. We would definitely return again for a longer stay.
