My daughter and I were very pleased with every aspect of our trip to Cabo! The hotel is gorgeous all of the staff friendly and helpful. The food was over the top especially at Bella California and we cannot wait to return to this beautiful place!

The hotel was beautiful but the beds are crazy, double beds for adults is just too small. The bell hop's were fast and did a great job, other then the day of our arrival, took a little longer then average to get the bags, had to wait an hour.

I will never recommend or go to any of the Villa Hotels, it took 3 rooms before we got one that was ok, it took the whole day so we lost a whole day of fun in the sun, Never Never Again!!!!!

Horrible experience, I travel all the time and will not be using Apple Vacations again, there was never a rep available the whole trip, the hotel mgr told us they are never there, this was a big mistake choosing this vacation and very costly, everyday someone else would say how terrible the place was also......Our suitcase went flying out of the back of the van that we had on our way home and is totally damaged the door opened because it was never securely shut....from beginning to end...utter hell.

When I booked my vacation it was understood that I requested a deluxe suite, like I had on my last vacation. When I arrived I had a queen size bed when I know I requested a King. I didn't get the requested suite nor was I offered and up grade. I called apple twice and never got a response from anyone at Apple Vacations. Let it be known from this day forward I will not use or recommend Apple Vacations. I paid in full at the time of my reservation, I was very unhappy with my accommodations.

Worth it if you don't mind the timeshare push

The hotel was great! It was on the beach, had three pools, lots of food choices, and great rooms. We were treated very well there. My kids, aged nine and twelve loved it. The only drawback was the hard sell to attend a timeshare seminar. It seemed everyone was being pushed into it.

My travel rep did a great job in booking and the transfers were great. However the hotel was not what I expected. The food quality was not great, the "all-inclusive" aspect was not effecient and frankly a waste of money. I would not blame my travel rep for this, probably my fault for not researching it further. We were co-mingling with non all inclusive guests, so the benefit of being all inclusive was not a benefit at all. You still had to sign everytime you wanted a drink, this includes coffee, orange juice and bottled water. The restaraunt selection was very poor. Our room was excellent and the facilities were clean and well maintained.

When we first arrived, we were assaulted by a variety of salespeople pretending to be our concierge, etc. They were trying to sell us timeshares, tours. Our room was good. The all inclusive was only at our hotel, even though there were 3 in the property, and was limited to a sports bar, buffet, and Italian restaurant. Food quality was poor. The pool area was quite crowded, so difficult to relax. At night, the shows were quite loud and late, so hard to sleep, since they were outdoors. However, I want to mention that after 2 days, we contacted our Apple rep and he was fantastic-moved us to a different hotel, which was great-we loved our room, the food was great, the pools were large and peaceful and relaxing. He also recommended activities, which we enjoyed-different than what the personnel at Villa del Palmar recommended. The vacation was salvaged, but this original place was so bad, my husband wanted to go home immediately. I thank you for helping us have a great vacation for the last 5 days.

Most screwed up system ever for an all-inclusive. Had to sign for every drink or eat. Absolutly ridiculous. Couldn't just get a drink or food. Had to wait forever in THEIR system. Orders were generally wrong and long delayed. One waitress for all beach area. STUPID STUPID So if someone was to have 50 beers during their stay of a week needs to sign over and over and over.

THE PERSON FROM APPLE WHO WAS SUPPOSE TO CONTACT US AT THE HOTEL NEVER DID. WE HAD TO CALL THE PICK UP SERVICE AND MAKE OUR OWN ARRANGEMENT. WE EVEN CALLED HER CELL AND LEFT A MESSAGE WITH NO ANSWER. IF SHE WORKED FOR ME SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED!!!!!!!

This hotel was not the most elegant hotel as far as fixtures go but the staff was the best of any hotelI have ever stayed at and we where there for 14 days and NOT once did we ever have a problem. Our bathroom light went out and I called the front desk to have someone change it and I'm telling you within 5 minutes the repair man was there with not one type of bulb but 3 just in case. We didn't like where the T.V. was when we first checked in. What did they do move all our baggage into another room with T.V. in the right place and all with a smile. I'm telling you the service was above and be on any we ever had. Pool girl would meet us ever day and check if we needed anything and get our towels for us. Pool was always in top shape, food was great as well. I would recomend this hotel and for sure we will be there again in March,2012 and again and again. We just loved our 2wk stay. Oh and the weather was just as perfect. The only problem we had was the resturant named the Office was closed until Oct.and the owner takes all her employees on vaction. So how great is she! But we know she closed from August 13th until Oct. So we will vaction when she's open. If you have not been there you must try!! Let me add I do own a time share on the marina but will not be staying there. It will be villa del palma from here foreward. Thank You for reading and please check the place out.

We travel a lot, but this was our first luxury resort experience. We were here for a week. The staff (not the time share staff) was great, the facility is beautiful, the beach is nice, and the pools are nice. The hiking trails are very scenic, the golf course is beautiful and the weather in early Jan. was wonderful. So why wouldn't we go back? Because we prefer a location where we can drive to a number of locations and see various things. The only real side trips we took (we had a rental car) were to the mission San Javier and into Loreto several times (it's about 1/2 hour away). So if you like to just stay put at a resort and sit on the beach or by the pools or play golf (about $200 a pop) this place will appeal to you. For us, not so much. Also, they are very persistent about having you go on a "tour" but what it really is is a time share sales pitch. We declined, but when they persisted (called our room twice) I asked to be upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom (twice the size of the studio and much larger kitchen) and they agreed so we went. The time share sales guys are a piece of work. All smiles until they finally accept your "no" and then the smiles disappear, the looks get frosty, and you are curtly shown the door. What a way to make a living. The upgrade was worth it though because I can say no with the best of them. Just be ready for it. We ate no meals at the resort restaurants. The prices are somewhat high and the reviews indicate the food quality is uneven at best. We went into Loreto and did our grocery shopping. There are two fairly good-sized grocery stores in town and they accept dollars or credit cards. They're not quite like the Safeway, Albertsons, or whatever store you're used to, but they have a lot of stuff and are safe. We had dinner out twice, once at Pedro's in Loreto Bay/Nopolo on a Tues. night. and once in town at Super Burro. Super Burro is a very 'local' place and some Spanish on your part will be helpful. They will take dollars, but not credit cards. Pedro's on Tues. was a blast. Older crowd of Americans and Canadians, live music, dancing, cheap margaritas, and good food. Pedro's takes credit cards or dollars. The prices for food at both places was very reasonable, almost cheap by American standards and certainly compared to the restaurants at the resort. This area is currently a safe part of Mexico, so no worries there. So, while we enjoyed our time there and while we were treated very nicely, we'd probably opt for something else next time. But when next winter rolls around and the dark, gloom, and rain set in, we may change our minds.

A Love/Hate Resort

The Islands of Loreto is a very special spot on the planet. The views are breathtaking, The air is pristine, not even light pollution so the sky pops at night. The Sea of Cortez is a natural wonder. The rooms are spacious and all face the sea. The staff is largely drawn from the town of Loreto, 35 km to the north. This little village produces some of the warmest, nicest people on earth. Smiles are frequent and genuine. These are hard-working people that you would love to have as neighbors. These lovely people are handicapped by abysmal training and coaching. The only exception is the housekeeping staff that operates like an elite military unit ( in a good way). The kitchen and other hospitality staff is strictly amateur hour. The people who call themselves concierges are anything but. They should look up the definition of concierge as a minimum.Amateur performance is not what is expected at a top-notch resort. The food varies from truly awful to mediocre with rare occasional flashes of quality. The "all-inclusive" plan is anything but all-inclusive. Yoga classes, for example, are not included and are $18 per person per day. The water-sports area claims to have glass-bottomed kayaks but there was only one and it was broken. The umbrellas on the tennis courts were all broken. Internet service is a joke. There is one hot-spot. The golf course is extravagantly priced and extremely difficult. It is beautiful and the tour of the course should not be missed but it is not a resort course by any means and it is way too pricey for what it is. If you are an owner in this timeshare as we are, you get a bribe in return for a 90 minute sales pitch to upgrade your membership. Members should be able to opt out of this torture session and still get the "members rewards". I want this place to succeed but my fear is that it will take a radical change of top leasdership to make the kinds of improvements necessary.

From spending time enjoying drinks on the beach, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, enjoying the amazing food choices in the on site restaurants, lounging by the pools, luxuriating at the spa, hiking up to the spectacular 17th hole for the breath-taking sunrises to quiet evenings in our gorgeous, comfortable room - our stay at Villa Del Palmar in Loreto was beyond amazing! Every member of the staff feels like family - Oscar's greeting at breakfast, being spoiled by the pool boys (Manny, Roberto, Julio & Mario) entertained by the activities team led by Mauricio (Duvis, Eduardo, Liz, Carmin, Danny, Oman, Ramon, Tany, & Iz) and when we are at VDP Loreto, we are home!

While at Villa del Palmar my husband and daughter compare our holidays to a dream. The management was so kind to honor my request for 3 ocean view rooms close to each other and with honesty reimbursed an over-payment. This place is perfect for a family with grandparents, parents and young children: excellent service, delicious food and spectacular scenery. Plus this resort has excellent features not found at other 5 stars facilities we used berfore: the hot tub is hot; no key to loose, it is on your wristband; not necessary to reserve lounge chairs with towels (there are plenty of chairs with clean towels placed on them), the kids pool is very well designed, the pools do not have restricted hours. Thank you to all the people who work so hard with all their heart at Villa del Palmar to make Loreto a memorable place in Mexico. We shall remember you Jorge and the paddle board guy at the beach, Dhom; Gregorio, Edgar, Marcos, Christian, Roberto, Miguel, Gerardo, Luis, Abraham, Jose, Ventura, Jonathon, Ricardo, and mostly Oscar because my grandson’s name is Oscar. I am impressed that the General Manager Sr. Sixto Navarro came in person to see me on the last day. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested to experience with luxury the beauty of the sea of Cortez before it gets popular like Cancun area.

We visited VDP last March on a time share promotion, all inclusive, and it was great. Liked it enough to book our own week last October. First the highlights of the resort: BEST snorkeling we have ever done... better than Hawaii. We were just one boat, and only 6 snorkelers, so we had the who area to ourselves. Don't miss the snorkeling. The area is a national refuge, and the government is very protective of their environment, so the area is pristine. The resort is remote, so quiet and peaceful. The only resort activities are kayaking and paddle boarding. It would have been nice to have a little hobi cat to sail around the bay in. Rooms are large and well equipped. Downside of the trip: The vacation went well until check out. I encourage you to carefully review your bill the night before. In the morning, we found that every group checking out had a problem with their bill, which held up the shuttle to the airport (which was not the problem... the shuttle gets you to the airport hours and hours ahead of time.) The problem was with the bill. we had pre-paid some excursions prior to our trip. We were told we would get a 10% discount by doing so. Not only were the prices the same at the resort as pre-paid, we were billed double. After several written communications with the resort, the duplicate bill was removed. I had to send copies of pre-paid voucher and credit card bill to verify. The second issue was the resort's written promise of $450 resort credit and 25% off activities if we took the time share presentation. An offer too good to refuse, we thought... and it WAS too good to be true. Even thought the written offer included prepaid excursions and other prepaid activities, such as our all-inclusive days we pre-paid were included in the $450 resort credit, the resort refused to credit our bill in the amount promised. They only refunded$168. They said they were "unable to refund more than that." I spent weeks faxing, and refaxing the written offer presented to us at the resort indicating the refund amount, they just wouldn't budge.So my rating for the resort has diminished, as I just cannot trust that even what VDP put in writing, on their letterhead, is not to be believed, or trusted. Calculating the bill is also difficult. For example, the resort credit was quoted in US dollars ($450), yet the refund was given in pesos (bank calculated the $168 refund.) The resort tried to tell me that currency rates fluctuate, which they do... but not THAT much! And my bank has no extra fees. So, as beautiful as the resort is, just be careful of what you are paying for.
