My wife and I stayed at the Turtle Inn during our second trip to Placencia in Nov. 2015 after hearing good things about the hotel. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. We stayed in a Garden View Cottage, which we found spacious, clean and well appointed. Despite some other reviewers' concerns, we did not find the lack of air conditioning to be an issue. Staff members were friendly and engaging throughout our stay. Pool staff continually asked if we wanted drinks, etc. without being intrusive. Our snorkel guide was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Front desk staff were quick with answers to our questions. The activities director, Conway, was a well meaning but a bit disorganized. We were delayed on our snorkel excursion because we hadn't been told about possible bad weather and then when we decided to go out, were made to wait for another couple. We ended up going out and having a good day but we would have liked better communication. We dined in town in Placencia so I can't speak to the food at Turtle Inn other than the provided breakfast which suited us fine. Having previously stayed at Robert's Grove in spring 2014, I don't think it'd be fair to directly compare the two. Turtle Inn delivers a higher level of luxury and service at a higher price point. Depending on your budget for your trip to Placencia, I think travelers would be happy at either resort. We were very happy with our stay at Turtle Inn and would certainly consider it again.

We stayed for 2 unbelievable nights. My wife loved the shell phone. It's a very upscale unique experience. Sleeping feet from the ocean in a villa with a screen porch is incredible. No tv. My kids and I played scrabble. We played big dominoes on the beach. Go swimming or kayaking or paddle board and a staff member meets you on the beach with a towel. Service was incredible. Our overall experience was truly one of a kind and great memories for our teenagers. I could keep writing for days. It was an unbelievable experience and I hope we can return one day for a longer stay. I don't remember being more relaxed on a vacation.

Great place!

My wife and I were blown away by this resort! Truly a one of a kind luxurious resort for two. We had a cottage right on the beach with an out door shower in a garden. The screened in porch with thatch roof was just terrific! Bar on the beach, pool nearby, great staff, relaxed atmosphere, it was Devine! Highly recommend Turtle Inn!

Coppola resort much more compact than Blancaneaux with 3 restaurants, although two smaller restaurAnts not always open. Room, food and wine selection and preparation, staff, and recreational options were all excellent. We went for a 1/2 day snorkel and a full day bird watching session. Beach equipment and snorkel equipment are all free. Beach toys are kayaks and a tricameran. Two infinity pools are immaculate. There are specials at the restaurant such as 2 for 1 pizza night and Indonesian food night with a rijstaffel. Rooms are clean with a bedroom and ceiling fans. Mosquito netting does not prevent bites at night because it enclosed the mosquitoes inside the net. There are multiple leaks that prevent a mosquito free zone in the rooms. There is both indoor and outdoor shower which can prevent arguments when rushing to bathe before dinner. One suggestion is that there should be maximum hot water temperature controls for both showers and basins as I got scalded a couple of times in the shower. M Use the complimentary bottled water in the rooms to avoid diarrhea due to different bacterial flora despite the use of filtered tap water. Amenities of shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body lotion are all top-notch. Staff are superb, genuinely want to please, are happy, so their enthusiasm shows. The long service time that guides such as Melvin, snorkeling boat captain like Bertrand, and managers like Terri Ann and concierge like Alphonso as well as serving staff in restaurants suggests that resort treats them well in order to retain them. We also enjoyed a private 2 person yoga session with Stephanie. This is beach yoga in the morning on the jetty like you would imagine it in your dreams. Stephanie was great balancing challenge with relaxation and customizing the class to recognize different flexibility in the participants. She is fantastic.

We've been to Turtle Inn several times and love it! The people are so friendly and nice. The ambience is great. The food can be a little bland, but generally is quite good, especially the Belizean lunch. I would recommend Turtle Inn to adults and children.
