Won't Go Back

This hotel was definitely not the star rating that was advertised. We upgraded with Apple Vacations to an ocean view room, and the hotel said this was not communicated to them, resulting in a big delay upon arrival, and changing rooms 3 times - The whole first day of our vacation was wasted. Almost every one of the staff at this hotel was completely rude and seemed unhappy and/or lazy. No one came to clean our room for 3 days, and when they finally did, had an attitude towards us. The cost for this vacation was overpriced, and although the hotel was all-inclusive, we ended up going elsewhere to eat most of the time since the food was less than par. The beach was pretty during the day, but I didn't feel safe going out to the beach at night, since someone was always waiting to sell drugs or hit on me, and would get angry when they were denied. I would not recommend this hotel to friends, and I most likely won't be going back to Barbados.

The staff could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable! We were bothered by the birds who constantly attempted to compete for food on our tables. This would be considered a health hazard in the United States!

As return customers we were greeted warmly and welcomed with a bottle of bubbly in the room. They even had a belated birthday card for me as it was my birthday the previous week. The facilities are great: kids club with really nice staff, large pools and games. And that's before the brilliant watersports from the impressive Captain Sam: a nice sailing trip to see the turtles, kayaking and lots of boogie boarding. The food is superb. Always a local dish such as fried flying fish, jerk or barbecue chicken and pepperpot stew. Great selection of salads, veg, rices and other sides. There's plenty of European and American dishes too as well as a separate Italian restaurant. Not to mention Half Moon, a coffee shop and bistro whose quality leaves others in the shade. Staff are attentive, courteous and friendly and paid lots of attention to my daughter. Well worth visiting Dover, Oistins and Bridgetown to see more of beautiful Barbados. How can I last before booking to come here again?

This is a good hotel and without a doubt the staff make it! They are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much for them. Saying that there was one barman that should have found another job, he just ignored people that is unless you were female and aged about twenty. He was the exception to the rule. ( I know some people complained the the management about him). ALL the others were great! Our room was spacious had plenty of wardrobe space and lots of drawers. It seemed that it had recently been updated, however the bathroom really needed a refurb. We had a little moan about it and the same day the maintenance team come in and done a good job of replacing anything that was tired or not up to scratch. There was gallons of hot water which never ran out! This hotel is right on the beach and there was never any problems getting a lounger even though it was full when we first arrived. Not quite as many loungers around the pool but there was also some in the gardens to choose. The food was very good and the Italian restaurant was our favourite, different choices on the menu daily, the Sandtrap restaurant which was near the beach served good food but the menu stayed the same. In busy periods they had two breakfast restaurants open which gave you the choice of the bigger one or the smaller one which was the Sandtrap. There was entertainment every evening except one and that had a local musician during late afternoon. There are too many staff to mention that went out of their way to help and they seemed to enjoy their jobs not like some other hotels where they just do their job. The bar served premium brand drinks which sometimes are extra but not here. It was a bit breezy on. The beach but when it's 30 degrees everyday that can be welcoming. Will we return? Most definitely!

A lovely hotel that is so very welcoming. Don’t think I’ve ever experienced such natural, genuine and friendly staff. Their service is outstanding and they tserve you as equals - seems all Bajans are so wonderfully warm and welcome you to their island. The hotel has everything you need. The rooms are large, comfy big beds , lots of hanging space and drawers, safe, fan and air conditioning, large bathroom, balcony. Perhaps a little bit dated but spotlessly clean. Food is good and varied. Been here 10 days now and there are still different dishes every mealtime- even different juices for breakfast! Only draw back is the rough sea. Red flags on many days and having been in the sea once on a yellow flag day I found I couldn’t stand up with the waves and haven’t been in since. But that’s not the hotels fauly! A lovely hotel - such a shame that if I come back I will choose to stay further up the west coast so sea access and snorkelling is easier.

Unbelievable hotel

Stayed here for a week but could have stayed for a month! The food and entertainment was one of the best in any resort that we've ever been in. The beach is stunning, waiter service on the beach and the best pina coladas I've ever tasted. It's small enough to be classed as intimate but you definitely couldn't get bored. Also just a short walk to the Gap. Can't wait to go back!
