Incredible resort

The resort was absolutely amazing! The room was beautiful and I loved the swim up pool. The food was absolutely fantastic, the choices of restaurants was vast and the quality was top notch. This service there was second to none, Randy our Butler was incredible. It was our honeymoon and he set up a romantic hot tub experience with Rose petals, food, and alcohol. Can’t wait to go back.

The hotel was pretty, but the food made as both very sick, the beach had a foot deep six foot wide strip of Dead Sea weed everywhere. You would think they would clean that up. Our room was terrible. The toilet is literally in the room with a glass door for privacy. Lights in the room did not work and the staff was so loud every morning that we didn’t need an alarm clock to wake up.

Beautiful Place, but be prepared for lack of communication
HOWARD G.
Aug 01 2018
Everything is very pretty and our room and grounds were gorgeous. It was disappointing to find communication with waiters, especially, very difficult unless you are fluent in Spanish. Also, it was difficult to understand why there was such a wait for service at most of the restaurants considering the large amount of wait staff. Can only guess that kitchen was not staffed as well.

The butler service at this hotel went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Carlos and Jerson were great and very friendly. This was our third vacation to Punta Cana and our first to this resort. This is by far the best and we hope to return.

For the past seven years I have stayed at the Grand Palladium Bavaro. This visit Bavaro was full. I ended up staying at The Grand Palladium Royal Suites, an Adults Only resort. I was slightly familiar with TRS since it is on the same property as Bavaro. The staff was nice and helpful as Bavaro. The pools were nice and as always the beach was great!! The new restaurant "Heilos" was nice. Food was good considering the "newness" of it. The only problem I encountered was with other tourists. The Grand Palladium booked a group providing a comedy show, music themed and other events. People from that group were loud, rude, complaining and demanding. It kind of spoiled the quiet, laid back, tranquil atmosphere of TRS. But, I ignored it as best as I could. I had never seen Grand Palladium book such an event before. But, overall I had a great time as usual. I will return and hopefully to the very familiar surroundings of Grand Palladium Bavaro.

renovations needed

Rooms require renovations such as new air conditioning system. Restrooms at the restaurants have peeling wallpaper, broken faucets. Spa is constantly out of towels and bathroom products. New bracelet key system at the TRS while very convenient, the bracelets get wet and rub the skin.

We stayed at the TRS Royal Suites for 5 nights. It took a while to get checked in and we noticed no AC in lobby and no welcome drink (as we usually get from other 6 golden apple resorts). We were directed to our room (walking 3 flights of steps - no elevator in bldg.) and our room was very warm. Thought it just needed some time to cool down. After a couple hours we found out that the AC was out in a good portion of the resort. Thought that was strange not mentioning that to us. We ate dinner in the very warm French restaurant (not authentic I might add) and was happy that the AC was back on when we got back to our room. Rooms was very nice and clean but food at this resort was not that good. The meal we enjoyed the most each day was the BBQ by the pool area. Other than that we didn't enjoy the food at the other 4 restaurants we tried. In my opinion this is not a 6 golden apple resort. There is no night life unless you go to the other resorts that are within the complex but they are not adults only and the shows are geared toward children. Not much going on by the pool either. Just a 30 min activity at 11 am daily. The staff is very nice and does a good job in remembering your name. Just wished we had more to do.

Judith Butler was outstanding.always there for all of our stay very welcoming. The restaurant capricho angel and Aldridge’s young waiter very friendly and good service.I had not so good service in Helios but I told my butler Judith who forward the complaint to frank general restaurant manager who dealt with everything in a very professional manner would really recommend this hotel highly.

My wife and I just got back from TRS. A few comments. Checked in and taken to our room. No sign of the butler to show us around. Kind of annoying when you look from your balcony later and see other guests with their butler getting a tour of the suite.... Did have Plutarco (sp?) the next day he was AWESOME! Asked if possible to upgrade to swim up. NO. Didn't see anyone below us at the swim up rooms all week... We had a romance suite in building 54. The room was tired... Shower leaked and towel hanger comes out of the wall. Food very hit or miss. Japanese and Italian were good. Others not so much. . BBQ at the beach was great. Beach was nice although the sales pitches could get annoying at times... Pools were great (foam party at The secret pool was a lot of fun. Great service overall. We paid $4700 CDN for a week. Not worth the cost. Not convinced it deserves 5 stars. Might go back on a very good sale.....

TRS Turquesa is a fabulous all-inclusive. The resort is truly beautiful - rooms, grounds, beach - everything! But my husband and I agree that the staff are among the friendliest, most accommodating and professional ever. There are so many who went out of their way to make our stay truly memorable. Yaque, our butler in Villa 58, was wonderful! We celebrated our wedding anniversary there and when he found out he had the hot tub in our suite filled with a bubble bath one evening with flowers strewn around the tub, a bottle of champagne on ice, and flowers artfully arranged on the very comfortable bed. An anniversary to remember! We can't wait to return to paradise!

Return visit for 10th anniversary
PalladiumBride, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Sun Dec 02 14:40:38 EST 2018
Ten years ago my husband and I got married at the Grand Palladium (and we stayed at both the Palace and the Royal Suites). It was the perfect destination wedding/honeymoon with our family and friends and we always said we’d return on our own to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I was slightly concerned about going back after all these years and perhaps being disappointed and tarnishing my fond memories, but since the whole point of this trip was to go back to ‘where it all began’ we decided to go ahead with it, keeping in mind that things may have changed since our first visit. And they had, but in good ways, and we couldn’t have asked for a better, more relaxing vacation. After a 20 minute drive from the airport we were greeted with fresh coconuts and refreshing wet washcloths while checking in, and then escorted to our garden view Premium Junior Suite on the ground level of building 50 by our butler Charli, who got us settled in and set up with wifi (which was pretty good everywhere, even on the beach). Conveniently, the hotel wristband is also your room key. Brilliant! We loved not having to keep track of an actual key or access card. Also, the room is stocked with nice L'Occitane products (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion). The entire complex is huge: 1) the adults-only TRS Turquesa; 2) Grand Palladium Palace; 3) Grand Palladium Punta Cana; and 4) Grand Palladium Bavaro. Grand Palladium guests have access to all sections except for Turquesa, which is private for TRS guests only. We enjoyed walking around to see what we remembered and what had changed and never used the shuttles that are available to drive guests around. I was disappointed that the spa was closed for renovations during our stay, but Jean Carlos showed us the building that was temporarily turned into a makeshift spa so we kicked off our vacation with a couples' massage. Apologies to the girls who did our massages for misplacing their names, but I'd like to thank them for going out of their way to give us a wonderful anniversary surprise by creating a special pathway to our massage tables with candles and flower petals. We’re ‘beach people’ vs. ‘pool people' (although the foam party looked fun) but we couldn't believe how much seaweed washed up some days (despite efforts to clean it up). But that didn't bother us and we enjoyed going for long beach walks. We never had an issue getting loungers and there were plenty of shaded areas. At the pool, keep an eye out for for Miguel, an innovative young man who started a cart for guests to leave books and suntan lotion. My husband donated a book that he had finished and we noticed someone else reading it that very same day. I hope it's still getting shared for others to enjoy. But beyond the beautiful, well-manicured grounds and the amenities and food, it's the staff who are so welcoming and friendly that help make it special - especially the lovely Yandys and the happy-go-lucky Nilson (who knew we liked our morning coffee "solo negro, no leche") at the Helios beachfront restaurant; and Carlos Casanova, the hardworking beach waiter who made sure my husband always had a beer and that I was never without a Banana Mama or Dirty Monkey. Since it was our 10th anniversary we stayed for 10 days, which gave us an opportunity to try many restauraunts. The TRS restaurants don't require reservations; we always went for dinner between 6:30-7:00 and never had a wait. Helios - Breakfast 7-11 am, Lunch 12:30-3 pm, Dinner 6:30-10 pm - We ate most breakfasts/lunches here. (Also had one breakfast at Capricho and one at the buffet in the Palace section, and one lunch at the buffet in the Punta Cana section). The live guitar and violin music was a nice touch. Hostesses Suleica and Ramona always had a smile despite having to wear ridiculous black tights in that heat! Helios is close to the beach and pool but you must be covered up (not just a bathing suit) and no bare feet allowed. There's also an outdoor grill nearby that served delicious paella and seafood, chicken and burgers. Capricho - Breakfast 7-11 am, Lunch 1-3 pm, Dinner 6:30-10 pm - Shout out to our waiter Angel who tried to teach me a little Spanish; I should have worn bug spray the night we sat on the patio for dinner though, but otherwise it wasn't an issue the rest of the trip. La Boheme (French) - Dinner 6:30-10 pm - Very nice. Kusko (Japanese/Peruvian) - Dinner 6:30-10 pm - Good recommendations from Wilson (who is a passionate Toronto sports fan!) Your butler can make reservations for restaurants in the other sections of the resort but if we were to do it again, with the exception of Sumptuori and Bhogali, we wouldn't bother going to the Palladium restaurants because we felt that the food and atmosphere at the TRS restaurants was better. El Dorado (Steakhouse, 6-10 pm) - It was okay but very dark in there, not as good as the TRS restaurants. Sumptuori (Teppanyaki, 5:45-10 pm) - If you're never tried teppanyaki, it's fun to watch your meal prepared on a grill in front of you. Shout out to Luismil and Ramon. Bhogali (Indian, 6-10 pm) - Nice decor and good service from our waiter Israel. La Adelita (Mexican, 6-10 pm) - Disappointing. We actually left without even finishing our dinner and after that we decided to stick with the TRS restaurants. Other than one dinner at La Catedral (buffet in Bavaro section) we didn't want to bother with any more Grand Palladium restaurants (such as Bamboo for Asian cuisine, Lola for Spanish, Portafino for Italian). There were donut milkshakes available in the lobby at 3 pm (decadent indeed, but I had to try it once!) and a chocolate buffet at Hemingway's on Wednesday at 4 pm. The dessert options have greatly improved since our first visit! There is also a nice wine bar (additional cost not included in all-inclusive) next to the sports bar in the Bavaro section, a few shops and vendors, and more souvenir shopping down the beach past TRS. Locals are allowed to walk down the beach with parrots and monkeys for photo ops (please don't!) but beach security guards make sure they don't hassle guests. I am so glad we came back here. I didn’t want to leave and miss it so much!

Amazing Anniversay Celebration

Sun Dec 02 08:03:40 EST 2018
My wife and I just completed a week at TRS Turquesa celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and we couldn't be more pleased! From the prompt response to our email inquiries before our arrival, to being made at home during our stay. Mr. Carlos Reyes and Ada at reception made us certain that it was going to be great stay right from the start! We were given a complimentary room upgrade from a Premium Junior Suite to the most amazing beach front suite (5216)! We were able to watch the surf with our morning coffee and were mere steps away from the pool as well. Pair that with the superb service offered by our butler Ramon M. we did not want for anything. Ramon, we hope you have a great visit with your family from Ohio later this month. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the attentive service offered by our housekeeper Ana and ALL the bar and pool staff who made certain we were never without a full glass of champagne, "Salud"! I can't forget the hard working landscaping crew that are always working and keep the grounds in terrific condition. Finally, the gym (for those interested in such things on vacation) was excellent. A wide variety and good number of modern equipment was available and several classes were going on (spin and yoga). We will be back!
