Fantastic hotel now fully refurbished and run by Elegant Hotels. There are some lovely design features dotted all around. It is for adults only so you are assured of a relaxing time. Our room was a suite overlooking the garden on the ground floor with its own patio. At night the lights from the restaurant and bar with the sea in the distance cast a lovely romantic glow. There was the occasional band as well. If you want more you can go the other Elegant Hotels, The Tamarind or the Colony Club. The grounds are beautifully kept, the staff were all so charming and helpful. The food in the restaurant at night was delicious with real flavour that we had missed on our Seabourn Cruise. Yes they are expensive but Barbados is London prices (The dish we had at Daphne’s next door was more pricy and no better) The sea was rough when we were there so we couldn’t swim in it and the complimentary water taxi which connects to the other Elegant Hotels couldn’t run. It’s worth mentioning that there is quite a lot of coral on the beach particularly at the waters edge, so we will bring those shoes you can wear in the sea next time. Complimentary cocktails in the happy hour a different type each night is a great idea. Thank you everyone at the hotel for a lovely relaxing break.

Our first vacation in Barbados over the new year holidays. Location of the hotel could not be better, situation a few steps from a lovely beach, water perfect for swimming, not ideal for kids as the beach has a steep gradient and deep water, but no problem if confident swimmer. On the other side of hotel is a main road, plenty of buses to take you in either direction. Busy road and poorly lit at night. Hotel has been recently refurbished, rooms are generally very good but fixture and fittings have not been installed correctly as all were found loose a poorly fitted, could be considered a minor point but worth a mention. Water pressure in the shower is very poor and not so warm, room had a sink where the water flow was merely a trickle. Food in the hotel is average and prices are eye watering high, much the same as the bars and restaurants close by. Hotel staff were very friendly and keen to assist. Great place for a relaxing time. Water sports are free curtesy of the hotel, water skiing, booking required, kayaks, hobbies cats, paddle boards. Independent water sports in same location, reggae boat for snorkelling with turtles recommended fantastic 2 hour trip, turtles and fish a plenty, jet skies. Fish night on Friday at Oisten, good atmosphere food overrated and over priced. We found all locals very friendly, Bridgetown is busy with cruise boats and shops reflect this market. Some defects in the room but after a while the beauty of the area makes you forget and relax into a fantastic location.

First time visitors to Barbados! A fantastic hotel. Magnificent suite with terrace. Wonderful sound of surf and tree frogs at night. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was of a good standard although if you were staying longer than a week you will have had all the dishes on the menu however there was a special each night in addition to the menu so something for everyone. Can recommend doing one of the catamaran trips to swim with turtles. We used the company Stilletto who were fantastic. Would definitely return to this little piece of peace and tranquility.

Lovely hotel with all rooms as suites. Almost feel you are sleeping on the beach as all rooms are so close. Lovely Caribean decor, simple but chic with a great sitting room, outside balcony and large bathroom. Staff are the best, delightful and attentive with many staff having been there for years. The sundeds on the beach and poolside are excellent with beach towels and waiter service. Complimentary fruit and iced towels were a lovely touch. Breakfast and all food in the reaturant was lovely with views out over the pool and ocean.Very well situated, being close to evrywhere with a short taxi ride. The small, clublike atmosphere made for a great relaxing stay.

A long time 32 years but although we have visited barbados regularly over the last 15 years and had lunch here most times this was an 11 night say . we found the "suites " pool or sea view a little small for us so chose the wonderfully named hemingway suite a very large suite of rooms with a large covered terrace large lounge and bathroom - someone mentioned that the late michael winner stayed here whilst the sandy lane was refurbed some years ago-we could imagine this . The staff are what makes the hotel richard in the bar, all the restaurant staff and the beach guys - we like the breakfasts and lunches - a word for the spicy gazpacho the excellent flying fish , blackened fish (mahi mahi !!) and burger with the very best crispy chips on the isl;and. Dinner was less attractive in the too brightly lit restaurant - a bit of a downer but - and I guess most people would not realise this - next door at the tamarind cove a very short walk there is life , music often , very good service and good food- we frequently went there . The group that owns this the elegant hotel group - has just bought the treasure beach as another reviewer has said lets hope they keep what is charming about treasure beach - the staff - whilst upgrading the facilities. Look forward to seeing it next year-incidentally the setting with that large mahogany tree in the middle framing the sea view is magical .
