Dated Caribbean Condo Hotel

The studio room we stayed in was old, but very clean. We always stay in condo resorts and this had the worst stocked kitchen we've ever seen. There were 2 pots and 1 frying pan. Since we weren't doing any cooking, this didn't matter to us. We did ask for a full size coffee pot and it was delivered the next day. The one supplied was a 4 cup. Housekeeping came daily and did a good job. There was no room safe, but there were safe deposit boxes in the lobby, free of charge. The bathroom was very small and would get steamed up quickly - no exhaust fan and the window didn't open. There was no problem with the wifi, even on the beach. The food in the restaurant was good, servers were friendly, and prices reasonable. On Sunday night there is a local band at the Dockside Bar and attracts a mix of visitors and locals. The drink prices are also reasonable. It's a few minute walk to the Strip, where there are numerous restaurants and bars. You have to go to the lobby to get your beach towels and they often run out. The towels are extremely threadbare and need to be replaced. TBR has 57 units and there are only 6 umbrellas on the beach. The beach chairs are old and sagging. You feel like you're sitting in a sling. We asked if there were any more umbrellas and were told that's why the platform was built - so you could sit in the shade. This is a platform with a canvas roof and open sides. There are about 15 lounge chairs and it sits behind the beach across a narrow road. The problem with this is that the first step is 17" up from ground level and has no handrail. There is a pool with a nice water view, but it also need some attention. This would be a nice place to stay if they would update, replace, and repair. The location is very convenient to town, restaurants, water sports.I was there mainly for the beach and unfortunately this is the main area where the resort falls short. I wouldn't return.

Just returned home from our week at TBR.

We loved staying there. The room was very clean and updated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food in there restaurant was good. The strip is right there for food and drinks. We loved the food at Vibe and everyone was friendly. Down the street is a good place for coffee and food. We loved the roosters, chickens, cats and moneys that are at TBR. I really loved the roosters and chickens. Can't wait to go back next year.

Great value for money

In search for some winter sun, my boyfriend and I went to St Kitts in early February 2018 and found a good deal with Timothy Beach Resort on the Caribbean coast not too far from the capital Basseterre. We really enjoyed the stay at this hotel even though we were given a room on the ground floor with no terrace. The upper floors and the rooms overlooking the sea have a good size terrance with sunbeds and table/chairs. You can ask for an upgrade at an extra cost, however we didn't find this necessary as the room was clean and we spent most of our time outside. The hotel is right next to quite a few bars, cafes and restaurants (located on 'the strip'), which can get quite noisy on a Friday and Saturday night. However, the area draws locals as well as tourists, which is charming especially when comparing the hotel to nearby Marriott. The hotel is also an excellent base for exploring the island as it is a short drive to nearby beaches in the south, the car-ferry to Nevis and Basseterre. I would recommend the stay at this hotel. It is located by a nice beach (which also offers lots of water-sport activities), within walking distance to a good range of restaurants and cafes, a short drive to beautiful beaches and the hotel staff are very friendly. The only drawback would be the hotel breakfast, which is OK, but a little expensive. I wouldn't buy breakfast included upfront. Overall a great stay at Timothy Beach Resort and we would stay again.

We had a fabulous time at the Timothy beach resort.... very relaxing and all the staff was so friendly... even when the Monkey Jimmy came up to us (which we didn't want him to and asked him to leave) the staff was so cooperative to make the owner move.... We can't say enough for them.... Everyone was wonderful... they are always trying to help you out.... we started out on the first floor and wanted to be on the 3rd floor for the better view... and they accommodated us.... No problems and we will be back... loved the friendliness of the staff.... And I am sure it is hard for them since we are tourists and I understand it.... we come from a tourists area in NJ and We only give respect to the staff... Looking forward to coming back and have given great reviews to friends who want to visit the island.... Thank you for such a great time on our First Visit.... room #31

We went to this beach from the ship because it was the closest one. The beach is not nearly as nice as some of the other ones we visited while on our cruise. But the bar in this resort allowed my husband to sit there and nurse his beer the entire time we were at the beach. Sand is his enemy so he’s always looking for a place in the shade to read, and this resort bar was perfect for him. Giving the place a four rather than a five because the beach is just so-so. There must be prettier beaches on the island, and if we were coming there for a vacation, we’d want a better resort and beach than this.
