The most amazing friendliest staff and service we've ever received at any island we've been to in the carribean. We never go to the same island twice we've been to 12 different islands and Cayman island Ritz Carlton is by far #1 on my list to visit over and over again....we felt like we were royalty at every inch of the hotel which ever way we turned.

Amazing beach vacation

The Ritz is a dream come true! We had such a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. We used all the accommodations and enjoyed the nightly extra treats - like the champagne ceremony. It was a perfect vacation and we highly recommend you check out the Ritz in Caymen for yourself!

Just spent three days at the Ritz Grand Cayman. Pros: - The staff (housekeeping and beach / pool attendants mostly) were ALL so nice. - Pools and beach were clean and well taken care of - Food and drinks were expensive (but that's expected) and I had one meal that was pretty bad at Andiamo and they comped it for us without any issue. I didn't even have to ask. Cons: - It's BUSY but the property is so large and spread out it never felt overwhelming - Our room #274 faced the lagoon out back and was the furthest room from the beach side. The walk was about 10 minutes which was fine but the smell from the lagoon at certain times of day was awful. The water is dark brown and not appealing to look at. There was also a bridge right at our eye-level right off the balcony that was noisy and not a view you expect while on vacation in the Cayman Islands. All in all a nice trip but for the points/money not worth it. The first three nights of our vacation we stayed at a huge 2 bedroom condo next door, steps from the beach and would choose to do that again over staying at the Ritz. I can't say enough good things about the staff!!! Especially, Franklin (beach attendant) and Natalie (housekeeping) and so many others but I don't know their names. In a nut-shell: Avoid room #274 unless you like to look at dark brown water, no view, low tide smell, traffic driving by at all times of day, and being as far from the beach as possible. The rest of the resort was nice.

The Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman is a truly special place. The staff, the setting and the service are spectacular. My wife and I traveled with our two young kids (under 3) and the staff went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. This was our second time visiting, my wife and I went alone last year – and honestly the resort caters to both perfectly. If you are traveling with a family – there is no better property on the island - but if you’re looking for a romantic getaway it’s also a perfect spot (and there is an entire section of the beach that is “Adult Only”). We are Platinum Starwood (now Marriott) Members, and even though we are still getting used to the new “Bonvoy” program we were upgraded to an Ocean Front Suite – in the front-building which was a lot easier for us shuttling back-and-forth to the room for naps etc. When we arrived, we were welcomed with rum punches and the room was already setup with a crib, beach toys – and stuffed animals for the kids - there were even two Ritz hats waiting us that we wore throughout our stay. Yes, there is an $85 dollar daily resort fee, but kids eat free at every restaurant on property – and the resort provides everything you’d need for a day by the pool or on the beach. Sunscreen is everywhere (SPF 15-50) along with “After Sun Gel” and “Aloe Vera.” Water stations (bottled water is free) and beach towel stations are also easy to find near the pools and beach. Clean snorkel gear, hobie-cats, paddle boards, kayaks and ocean bikes are all free to use and you can take them out anytime you want. I also think it’s worth mentioning that the Ritz sits on the best section of Seven Mile Beach. The Kimpton - while newer, is about a mile down the beach – and it's not as nice, but they do have a cool open-air bar (Coccoloba) that is fun for a drink. There are also great restaurants very close to the hotel as well (check out "Grand Old House"), and taxis are easy to get and fairly inexpensive (they charge by the person). Several restaurants are within walking distance - but Calico Jack's is right down the beach (.9 miles past the Westin) and it’s THE ONLY truly local tiki-bar on Seven Mile Beach, and drinks are cheap! The area around the resort is very safe – we walked back from dinner twice, and never felt unsafe. PRO TIP: There is a local liquor store right across from the hotel – where we bought Tortuga Rum and the local beer “Caybrew” that we put in the fridge in the room. I also recommend booking a “Stingray City Excursion” directly through the Ritz – ($90 per-person). The boat leaves from the private Ritz dock at the back of the property – and they are a lot less crowded. “Red Sail Charters” also offer daily tours from the Westin (right next door), but the boats are really crowded. We had the boat to ourselves – PRO TIP: Pack a cooler, they have water and snacks on board, but we brought wine and cheese and crackers – because it’s also a gorgeous boat ride through the Caribbean Sea. Never had a problem with anything in the room – the maid-service was excellent, and always prompt. The Spa is also really nice – and you can use the locker rooms any time you want. The hotel is spectacular – even when you compare it to other Ritz Carlton Resorts. We will be back!

Since the place was sold out the hotel gave us free breakfast every morning at Andiamo. The most pleasant and friendly staff work there...and at the entire hotel really. Although the place was sold out we did find it easy to get a cabana when we wanted one. Or beachfront daybed. Personally I loved how all the chairs had their own shade. My wife loves sun and I love shade so we could be by each other and have what we wanted. I didnt feel it was too crowded at all while it was sold out. My definition of too crowded would be Disney Aulani in Oahu. The staff really were always helpful and fun and friendly. Too many of them to name...the cleaners were always smiling and friendly ass well. We absolutely recommend this place. It made for a perfect spring break Easter Vacation.

We stayed at the Ritz in March. We were at the Marriott for the last 6 years in a row. This year the Marriotts beach had been wiped out with the storms and couldn't take the chance because of that this year. We used a ton more points and a lot more money than we wanted to.The hotel is beautiful but, large. We were oceanfront,it was gorgeous as would any other hotel be. We had to walk to the other side of the hotel which is harbor view, to eat breakfast at Andiamo every day, which got old. The beach is crowded and you get a chair with a canopy on top,not an umbrella. They used to have umbrellas but now they can squeeze you in closer together. We just got chairs on the end every day in order to have more room. Did not eat at Blue but have been to Seven another year.Over rated. Our favorite restaurants are The Wharf,Grand Old House,Blue Cilantro,Lobster Pot,Copper Falls Steakhouse and Agua. We've also have been to the Westin over the years but it's hard to get in there with points. So sadly, I think we will be back to Aruba next year, where you get more for your money. We LOVE the Caymans ,but they have gotten TOOOO big and expensive in the last few years.
