The most amazing friendliest staff and service we've ever received at any island we've been to in the carribean. We never go to the same island twice we've been to 12 different islands and Cayman island Ritz Carlton is by far #1 on my list to visit over and over again....we felt like we were royalty at every inch of the hotel which ever way we turned.

Did I Find MOLD in my Room's Air Ducts?
SLMCDO,

My wife and I spent seven nights this past week at the Ritz-Carlton in Grand Cayman. We believe this was our seventh trip to island and we have stayed at the Ritz each time. I have always considered this hotel to be a great place to stay until our visit last week. Here is why we will not be back: 1) We originally were placed in a second floor room although my Marriott Lifetime Titanium Elite profile specifically requests a high floor room. We had to get a manager involved to go from the 2nd floor to the 4th floor but I felt like I was in the wrong for asking based on the way the manager made me feel. 2) The room we had overlooked the pool area where there were three night events held over a seven night stay. These events included loud noise and music and I came away with the sense that the Ritz is much more interested in doing large events with groups than they are about having their guests have a pleasant experience. 3) Most importantly, the HVAC duct work to our room (445) was filthy and covered in what I believe to be mold. It’s funny how hard the Ritz tries to promote a high end experience and then to be exposed to potential toxins that mold spores can present? I was quite surprised to find this level of poor sanitation present at the Ritz. I started looking around the room when I noticed I was waking up with a headache and a very stuffy nose. We will not be staying at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman in the future.

We stayed as a family over the New Years, and we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is so beautiful and well-maintained, and the customer service truly amazing. We have already booked for the following New Years and are looking forward to returning. This is a first-class, first-rate hotel.

Ritz Trash-a-ton

The amount of plastic trash this place generates is astonishing. Management should take a page from next door Westin where every single drink is served out of reusable glasses. Just kidding, they all belong to Marriott International who (that's right, corporations are people. People who don't give a shot about anything else than profits) couldn't find the courage to preserve the environment they benefit from. Shameful.

Umbrellas please

As a frequent traveler of Cayman Islands, we have stayed at many hotels and always add a 5star review. Wanted to splurge and booked the ritz for half of our stay. Great hotel but will never come back because of the beach issues. 1- no umbrellas.2- its too small. Your chair has this shade attached that cannot possibly cover you. People have to move their chairs and cover themselves in towels! When I asked why no umbrellas, the response is it will block the view? The view looks terrible with the cheap shades all over the place. I attached a picture. What a shame since the hotel itself is great as expected from a ritz. Service was outstanding as well. But when you come to one of the best beaches for vacation, this is a deal breaker for me. Happy we stayed elsewhere for the first half of the trip.

Our stay at the Ritz Carlton was nothing short of amazing. Our room was clean, well appointed and we were center property overlooking the pool and ocean. The bed was so incredible and slept so well. Everyone we encountered from their staff were so friendly, used our name and genuinely smiled while taking care of us. Really special. Highly recommended!!
