This is my Second year going to this resort, ( the first time i came for 4 nights, 5 days — this time i stayed longer) and i must say —/ it just gets better. The room cleaniness and the food never dissapointments me. My conceirge Yarol was the best, his wanting to accomodate me and make my stay the best was very obvisous. Yarol went on and beyond and he made my daughters birthday one of the best. He made my reservation to all the best restaurants and made sure that i knew all the shows and events that were happening within the day so we wouldn't miss it. Everyday i would find the jacuzzi with bubbles and balloons for my childrens and little fun notes, there was nothing i wouldnt ask— that i wouldnt get— AND ALWAYS WITH A SMILE— ALWAYS. From bringing my bag in my room to me checking out, he didnt leave my side and was always ready to serve me and help me with whatever was my need. He really is a very hard working person and i hope leadership/ managment recognizes this because he deserves it. At the pool Naomi was amazing, very friendly and always willing to help, she made all the events that were poolside much more fun as well as her partner Raynol. Jose the pool side waiter was an amazing person, always ready to serve you and ALWAYS smiling no matter how hot it was and how many times he had already came to you. Jose was very friendly and serviceable. At the restaurant one waiter stood out Juan Peguero, he was our waitier in 3 restaurants and he was very pleasant, very friendly, very knowledgeable to the menu in which he was serving. He was so extremely nice and serviceable that we often found oursleves changing our reservation to go to where he was serving so he could be our waiter—- really a very nice and humble person. The last thing i witnessed was the “kids club” since this was my second stay, the faces were familiar and they seem to remember my daughter from the year before. The location was super clean- like the year before and as usual the personal was extremely friendly— my daughter loves staying at the kids club. Overall my stay (8days-7nights) was very pleasant not only because the resort was pleasantly clean, the food was amazing, but the personnel that works here make your stay memorable. I will be coming yet again next year—- and i will be bringing more of my family so they may have a good time as i did.

This is our fourth year in a row and we never get tired. Its always a great time. Leidy Elizabeth in the family concierge always goes above and beyond to show us a stress free time. The staff in the entire resort are wonderful. We will definitely be back!

It was our first time at The Reserve Paradisus Punta Cana and it did not disappoint. The grounds and landscaping are immaculately maintained and beautiful from inland to the beach. The pool areas are beautiful, clean and well maintained. People work throughout the day and night to maintain the resort and it shows! Our room was clean, nice and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the pool and convenient to restaurants and bars. The planned activities from live Latin music and dancing (the signer sounded like Gloria Estefan and the band sounded like Carlos Santana) to the EDM dance party at the beach were awesome! The best part of the experience was the staff. My wife and I only had positive experiences interacting with staff. They were joyful and more than willing to serve us. Our concierge was Luis and he took great care of us from the moment we arrived until we left for home. He often went out of his way to help us with reservations, transportation and advice. The office staff, Angie and Lex, helped with communications and refreshments. The spa was a great, relaxing experience. We spent numerous days at the beach relaxing and Ramon Ramirez and Santos Frias took care of us to provide us comfortable seats, towels, music and special drinks. Luis Santana and Pedro filled our cups at the beach bar. We had a great rum tasting at the Winery with Gustavo Ramirez. Our server and bartender Carmen, made us yummy drinks and kept them coming. She even stopped to help us with learning some Latin dance moves. Our Latin dance teacher, Raynold was amazing. My wife and I are not great dancers but he spent a lot of time with us and was incredibly patient to help us learn a few dance steps that really helped to make our trip special. Ask for Raynold if you want to learn to dance, if he can help me, he can help anyone! I highly recommend splurging on a night at Passion restaurant. The meal and wine pairing were remarkable and our servers Bienvenido, Martin, Olsen, Richy and Julian were incredibly attentive and superb. It was high class with a great atmosphere. Our bartender, Juan Diego, was serving at the pool bar near our room. He was amazing to talk with and his gin and tonics were fantastic. I mention all these names because resorts are resorts. They're generally all pretty good but it's the staff that makes the difference. These are the people you should look for if you choose to visit The Reserve Paradisus Punta Cana. They will make sure you have a great, unforgettable time.

Great family vacation however......

This hotel is our favorite hotel thus far. We have been here 3 times. We had a great family vacation. The staff were super friendly and we felt at home! The food and service were great. However, i have to be honest and pinpoint the changes that this hotel has been thru. I know that the week that we came to this resort it was a off peak season and there were about 500 people in the whole resort. I have notice that the hotel began to be cheap with the liquor. Before, i would call room service and ask for a bottle of wine or a bottle of champagne and they would bring it to me. Now when we went, i called room service and ask for wine and they only brought me a cup of wine. I had ask the gentlemen that why only a cup and he stated the the hotel doesnt give bottles anymore cause the economy crisis that the hotel was going through at the moment. I was shocked when he said that. So ok i got over it and didnt care about the bottle. Then i notice that they were stacking the refrigerator with cheap snacks. So again i didnt pay no mind to it. I just want the hotel to know that people see when there is a change of service and that is what affecting the rank and rating of the hotel. This hotel was always number 3 now its number 6. Another thing i would like to mention is that the hotels needs more activities after 6:30. People usually go to dinner from 6:30 to 7 and after dinner there was nothing to do since everything started after 9. So after dinner we would go back to the room and wait till 9:30 to go back to the lobby or back to the place where the activity was going to be held. There were times were we would just stay in the room since we would get lazy to go back out. Overall beside those 2 observations, everything was great!!!

Recent stay at the Reserve - family concierge and hotel not worth the money

My family and I recently stayed in a family concierge master suite. PROS: beautiful property, some very nice people and AMAZING kids club. I would suggest people stay here ONLY if you have a child under 5 and want to use the amenities and kids services (club, pool, dining options).CONS: We did not feel pampered or think that the family concierge service was worth the money. Our cabanas were never pre-reserved (others had their names listed on the cabanas so that no one used them). We asked for ours to be reserved, but it never was. We did not have an issue finding an empty cabana, but we were 2-3 rows beyond the beach. The major issue we had was that the property did not honor the 1000 USD credit as advertised on Melia.com. We mentioned it to them towards the end of our stay and we were told that we should've gotten it during check-in and because we hadn't, we could not use it. The front desk blamed the family concierge, the family concierge blamed the front desk. I asked one of the staff members (Sandra) who knew about the benefits and she said, 'yes this is what you're supposed to get'. When I then ask her to communicate this to the front desk staff since we didn't get it, she mentioned something, then quietly walked away as if she did not want to point out that they did something wrong. In the end we were told that this problem would be fixed for future guests but there was nothing that could be done in our case (or even for my parents, who booked a separate room and arrived 3 days after us but did not receive their benefits either). General note: We did enjoy some nice benefits of family concierge (reservations at the restaurants completed by the concierge, nice bubble bath for our daughter, and general friendliness of the concierge) but it was hard to get in contact with her (only through WhatsApp or when we saw her). She was still friendly and we liked her, also other concierges were very helpful when I couldn't immediately locate my concierge.Full assessment: the property is beautiful, the service is great when it's an off-peak time (the beginning of our stay was during a holiday and service and food was moderate to poor, but towards the end of our stay the service and food was much better). Some staff members tried really hard to make the experience great, but many didn't care or try at all (e.g. front desk staff). I'd definitely suggest choosing another property in this area because the overall experience was just okay, not great.
