This was our third time in Mexico, We love the food, the culture, the fact that it’s close to the US and it’s affordable, but this time the resort was a failure. Where to start? First of all the information they provide on the hotel description is false. It’s not a short walk to Quinta Avenida, it’s about 10blocks and it goes to the begging of it, so for the center it’s about 30min walk or 90 to 100Mx pesos taxi As soon as we arrived they offered us a “free” night on their sister hotel the Reef 28, since the location is better we decided to go there, we didn’t know they would ask us to go to a 90min presentation for what they called a better option to book it next time but it’s a time share sale. Not worth it! Their restaurants hours are off, we never got to the buffet since it was always close, the only open food place you will find during the day it’s the snack bar with “fast food” like hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, chicken wings, etc. Save the hustle the burger is the only eatable thing there and it’s not even real meat!!! The ketchup is watery, the vegetables old, and the wings lemony. The four bars have off schedules too, the beverages are sketchy, we heard from other guest at their sister hotel that the liquor bottles are adulterated, so we test it, we ask for a Fernet Branca neat, this liquor is usually thick, syrupy texture, bitter, sweet, herbaceous and spicy, but the one served at the Coco Beach was watery and lack of the distinct flavor. Every morning around 8am the noise of construction won’t let you sleep, it goes on and on until 4pm. When you call front desk they would say they can’t do nothing about it, the staff is not friendly at all and you would be lucky to find someone to speak English. Ants are everywhere inside the room, we ask for housekeeping everyday because of it, didn’t help so much. I don’t want nothing to do with them, just warning you to don’t waste your money and time here, it’s plenty of resorts cheaper and better than this, don’t let you fool by the pictures, photoshop this days is easy! Read other reviews and make your research (yelp, google, etc) before you go, 3 starts of 5 should have been a red flag for me.

Everything was good. Cleaning is a little slow. We went on excursion and came back about 4:30 and the room still wasn’t clean. More options for food . Vegan choices should be added as well. Good enough for the money spent.

A fantastic trip

A total of 9 persons went on this trip and we all had good remarks about the hotel. therefore to summarize our vacation the rooms at the Reef Coco beach hotel was clean properly which firstly made me most comfortable together with the pool area. The ground staff worked really hard and were always seen maintaining the hotel. The buffet food needs a little improve in terms of the variety of the food but the Mexican restaurant food was excellent..but overall it was a great vacation.

Great beach! Found lots of shells. Service was excellent. Didn't care for the food that was all inclusive. Drinks were watered down. Only offered a local beer. Other than the food and drinks it's a great place to lay in the hammock and relax on the beach. Nice pool. Wasn't overly crowded!

Save your time and money don't go here. Horrible food, service and rooms. It was so bad we left early. After complaining from the first day to the day that we checked out no one listened or cared. Gave us a double bed on our honeymoon. Room had mold. Limited food options, can't go in ocean by the resort and lobby is nasty. When we checked out three days early, the manager said he had no idea why. What a joke. Photos on the website are mostly of a sister resort that is 10 times nicer. I wish had photos to share but the WhatsApp messages I sent my photos in to the hotel company's main boss, he deleted my photos. So no point. If you wish you enjoy a vacation, don't go here.
