the room was very nice.. similar to other resorts as far as the room.. they have lots of food options and drinks.. the pool area is massive so privacy isn't hard to find if your not into the party scene.. the beach was beautiful and clean.. employees were very friendly and helpful as much as they could.. the only complaint would be a better late night food options.. after the dance club there is only one spot to eat with limited food options.. outside of that I had a blast and would return in the future..

Nice great staff - great shows - noisy guests

CHECK IN: Wonderful diligent VIP reception staff mainly Alex (Alejandro) who helped us a lot and was very respectful. Andrea from VIP was great to us too. We had some issues checking in with technology mainly but they were quick to resolve. Rodizzio restaurant - Pablo is greatest waiter and spent a lot of effort making sure we get exactly what we wanted. Only issue is noisy guests but I can’t see the staff being able to control that. Drunk young people are intimidating. I would suggest it for older teens and adults. Best bracelet is black or Orange (Sunwing). Shows at pyramid centre were stunning and engaging. Quality performances.

I have been traveling to Cancun for years now around the Thanksgiving weekend. This hotel has always been my number one pick. It’s kid friendly yet fun for Adults. There’s plenty of restaurants to choose from. This year my family joined us for the fun. My sister hosted her 25th wedding anniversary there as well. We had such a great time that we are now talking about making this a family tradition. We plan to go next year. I would like to thank Gonzalo Palafox and Ricardo de la Paz. They were both very attentive to our needs and made sure that our stay was pleasant and memorable. Truly appreciate their time and help. I look forward to our next vacation!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at this resort. We stayed for 10 days and got home a week ago. The black wristband was a necessity, the quality of food and drinks at pyramid-exclusive restaurants and bars is so much better. Take advantage of the 1 free dinner at Benazuza, the gourmet molecular cuisine. It was honestly the best dinner I have ever experienced in my life. We went to White Box and Careyes a few times for lunch and dinner, they were both exceptional. Maki Taco was delicious but we ate lunch at Bites for the most part. The food served at the Sian Ka'an Beach Club makes for a decent quick lunch by the ocean if that's where you are. The room service is decent, you pay $8 American for 2 meals or $10 for 3. Overall, the restaurants available to everyone were of average quality. We had a decent dinner at Dos Lunas, which is the Italian restaurant exclusive to black wristband guests. We found that breakfast options were limited; we ate at "Le Buffet", a black wristband exclusive, all but one morning for breakfast. There is a decent selection of food but it doesn't vary by day and by the end of our stay we were tired of it. We tried to eat at Tatish (buffet) the first night and actually could not eat the food, it was kind of gross. The late-night tacos at Maria Bonita, as well as a snack at Cocoa Hippie Chic, made us sick. "Coffee and Me" is an awesome spot if you want coffee, tea, a pastry, or bottle of water from 7 am to 10 p.m. A couple of times in the evening we got a coffee to go and got it topped off with tequila and kahlua (makeshift Mexican coffee) at Fontainebleu cocktail bar WHICH IS AMAZING. We discovered this gem on our second night. Luis and Roberto were our favourite bartenders; they are hardworking, amazing people that looked after us many nights (and days) of our stay. A few dollars in tipping will get you a lot of amazing, quality shots that you don't even have to ask for. Delfino at the bar in Benazuza was our favourite bartender, we sat at his bar a few nights and chatted with him and he made us phenomenal drinks. We were truly sad to leave these people behind and hope to see them again one day. The pool is huge and there is a swim-up bar available to everyone, although the quality of liquor there is not the best. We often found ourselves getting out of the pool and walking to the black-wristband bar by the Sian Kh'an Beach Club for drinks to bring back to the pool. You can buy large mugs in the gift shop for pretty cheap that you can fill with about the equivalent of 3 plastic cups that a drink at any bar would usually come in. We were very disappointed to find that Bailey's was considered a premium liquor and could not get Mudslides at this resort (vodka, kahlua, Baileys, and milk blended with ice) which was my go-to beach drink included in my last stay at the Riu Caribe. Most of the bars only offer Dos Equis included; you could get light beer but you had to pay for it. The resort could definitely improve by offering a better selection of beer and spirits. The hotel itself is beautiful on the inside, rooms are clean but we expected a bit nicer for a 4.5 star hotel. This hotel is VERY NOISY; the walls are paper-thin and music plays in the atrium from about 9 am to 9 pm. The way the hotel is shaped you can hear people coming in from the bar (downtown bars; the hotel bars close at 1) in the middle of the night. Our water did go off once one night before we went to bed, we had read reviews of this and panicked. However, we went down to the desk and they assured us that the problem would only take 3 hours to resolve and we were going to bed anyway. When we got up in the morning our water was back on and thankfully we did not experience any more plumbing issues. Overall, there were no major issues with this hotel. We had an amazing time and 99% of the staff were extremely courteous, friendly, and went above and beyond our expectations. Improving the food and drink quality would be an asset but this is a good-quality hotel and provides a great party atmosphere if that's what you are looking for. The casino and Kinky nightclub in the hotel are a great time, as well as Coyote Loco in one of the neighbouring hotels. Thank you to the Pyramid staff for an amazing vacation!!

We had a wonderful time here. One of the waiters, Aureliano, at the Bites location was awesome!! He helped numerous times throughout our stay, was very courteous, and went out of his way to help my friends! Was very happy with his customer service.
