My friends and I recently stayed at this resort (June 14-18). Upon arrival the resort seemed nice. The lobby/atrium is very large. Check in was a bit slow. And we stood waiting for a while. Upon check-in we found our room. The main living space of the room is decent. The bathrooms are dated and need upgrades. The food here is not good. The various restaurants were mediocre to say the least. Bars closed at 11pm..for an all inclusive resort this was mind boggling. There were not many options for late night eating. I'm fully aware we were in Mexico, but the language barrier with the staff was frustrating. Calls to the desk either were unanswered, were misunderstood, or they just never showed up to address your concerns after being told they were sending someone. The weather was bad the entire time we were there and that's totally out of the resorts control, but nearly EVERY place at this resort we went to had leaking ceilings and soaked/ falling sheetrock. Towels and buckets were placed everywhere catching/soaking up water. The staff didn't seem to be bothered by water being on the floor all over this resort. I'm truly shocked no one was seen slipping and injuring themselves. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Major renovations are needed here.

First time visit to Mexico was great.

Great trip!!!!! My husband and I had a very nice stay we especially enjoyed our dinner at Benazuza. It is an awesome resturant the food was out of this world and the service was devine. We just wish the weather had been better it was pretty nasty. There should have been more indoor activities and a indoor pool but besides that it was a great vacation. We went to mostly all of the resturants and experienced most of the shows ..Kinky was great...The Red Circus was a very nice cultural change. All of the staff was very helpful and nice we would visit again providing the hotel adds a indoor pool and incorporates indoor activities. Carla C77

We visited the resort in June 2018, 2 couples. The first thing you notice is the sheer size of the complex, with restaurants, bars, clubs that fulfill everyone’s needs. The coverage of the pools is also enormous, with in-pool bars, you almost have no need to go to the beach. (The water was pretty agitated all the time and the algae was omnipresent). Overall, the complex is clean and the staff helpful and kind. We had rooms at the Playa 2 building with sea view at the second floor, at the level of the palm trees photo attached. (Worth it). From our point of view it is an excellent option if you visit Cancun. P.S.: The Oasis complex has multiple hotels, we stayed at The Pyramid, for which you will get a black bracelet with free access for all the bars and restaurants. I recommend it because with reservation, you will have access to the Black Hole restaurant and Benazuza restaurant, which are amazing.

Great Vacation!

Booked a SunWing Package from June 4-9 as a group of 10 medical students. We chose the Pyramid (Gold band for SunWing but others had Black band which is the same thing) based on the reviews here and we were glad that we did! Pros: 1. Check in was easy and simple. We got rooms on the same floor nearby so we were grateful! The VIP lounge was great for drinks and to relax away from the general crowd. Also, the exclusive cabana access on the beach for Pyramid guests was the best thing ever. I really appreciated the extra effort staff gave to us, especially the beach bartender who catered to our needs. As people noted, you need to have the black/gold band since it gives you access to multiple restaurants, cabanas, exclusive bars, etc. I felt bad for those who were told to pay for the beach bar on a hot humid day since they had a blue band so definitely get the black/gold band! We didn't encounter mosquitos and the heat was bearable (at least for me). 2. The beach was beautiful. White sand and postcard worthy, everything we could have asked for! The waves were rough and lots of seaweed but still we had a blast! I was happy to see that there were a lot of beach loungers available on the beach. There are lots of things to do from parasailing, jetskiing, speed boating. You won't be disappointed and bargain with the vendors, don't pay full price! Some people have noted that there are drug deals going down on the beach and we saw some too but its near the water rather than the gate of the hotel. Lots of security and policia patrol the beach so it didn't feel unsafe but I wouldn't recommend kids at this resort. 3. There is a young crowd feel at this resort and although there are certain areas that are family friendly, I wouldn't recommend this to families with young kids. There are better resorts that are family friendly than Grand Oasis, and the party scene here is wild! The Oasis Beach Club is always bumping and loud, especially with Brits/Irish. Coyote is rowdy and the strip is party central (love Mandala beach!). This is perfect for a 20s to early 30s crowd but nothing else. 4. The food was great! I loved Sarape, Bites, Le Buffet and White Box. Make sure to make reservations early for White Box on the same day since it is limited and not everyone gets one for the same day. As the only vegetarian in our group, I ate at Sarape and Le Buffet 90% of the time since it tasted SO GOOD and loved Pablo at Sarape! The food was great for the rest of the people in my group and the meat options were apparently great! Cons: 1. The restaurants closed early and there wasn't a 24 hour food joint. I've been to other resorts that have 24 hour food options and this was a major drawback, especially when your hungry after late night clubbing. 2. The rooms were good for the most part expect the bathroom seemed dated and worn down. There was a lot of rust and things falling apart in the room. Housekeeping was great though, always responded quickly and was great at preparing the rooms! 3. It gets loud from 7-9pm due to the shows so you won't be able to socialize in the pyramid or sleep. On the other hand, the shows are great and definitely worth watching. 4. Please be aware that you should have your band on your hand at all times. The cost to replace it is $150 USD (ridiculous) so keep that in mind. Also, water isn't available everywhere and only at certain bars which I find weird. Alcohol/soft drinks are everywhere though. 5. The WiFi is decent but slow for streaming so we weren't sure why they had netflix on the TV since it wouldn't load. The channels are mostly in Spanish but that's expected. Staff spoke English so we didn't struggle with communicating. Overall, I found this a great experience for us to relax after a stressful year! We loved the experience and definitely will recommend to others! Don't be shy to throw a bachelor party/young people getaway here but definitely wouldn't want kids/family reunions here. For the record, I wouldn't want my parents here with me haha

First: Let me say that once we got there the process of checking in was simple and fast. Want to give a shout out to Melissa who was very professional and explained everything in detail and she gave us our room way before 3:00 PM. Second: The room view was AWESOME great ocean view however, I feel that it was a little to small. Also rooms need be renovated and the wall paint was peeling off and for this I give room quality 4/5. Third: House Keeping where very nice and aything you wanted the will go out of there way to get for you. Fourth: I want to make sure the the management of this hotel reward Antonio the Barista at the coffee shop for his service. Awesome youg man. Fifth: location (Hotel Zone) very nice lots to see in downtown. Make sure you take the Bus not the taxi. Bus is $1 USD Taxi $10 USD for the same amount of distance. The food is excellent Le Buffet have to eat there. The rest was ok I prefer Buffet though due to coming back from the excursions. Now make sure you go to Mercado 28 there you will get really cheap Mexican art work for souvenirs. Oh and before I forget the shows are beautiful need to see. Other than that the best vacation ever. Will be back again.
