My only complaint is the 4 + hr layover in Miami on our way back. When I first got our itinerary I called and asked about the long layover. I was told it was because we had to go thru customs in Miami. Well, we went thru customs in St. Croix before we boarded.

Everything we could have wanted to have or do at the Buccaneer was provided. The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay flawless! Their personal attention made it feel like a boutique hotel and we mattered. We will absolutely stay there again!!

Despite a beautiful property the service was inconsistent at best and several moments that were very, very poor. Some areas of the property were simply ignored by housekeeping including feces that were left in the main stairwell more than 24 hours. I regret the decision to stay at the Buccaneer.

Absolutly 1st class. Hotel is managed by a hands on manager/owner. The Buccaneer treats all of the guests as part of the Buccaneer family. The wine and snack basket delivered to your home upon arrival is a most welcomed treat. The golf course has many beautiful views of the island and ocean. I have stayed at The Buccaneer for the past 30 years and every year the improvements continue to enhance the experience.

Beautiful Buccaneer!

Best resort on the island, and still working at high standards as the island continues to recover from the hard hitting hurricanes of 2017. We were a family traveling for spring break, and met lots of other families with kids of all ages. Eventually they all grouped together and tried out the kids club which was a big hit! The family cottages were perfect for the kids and parents to each have some space. They are also located centrally on the resort with great views. This is a walking resort so be prepared to walk the hills, although they will send a golf cart for a ride if you call the concierge. The beach is beautiful! The pool is slightly small but most people are at the beach anyways. A few recommendations, perhaps, Open the beach Restaurant at night, to allow families to 'stay and play' rather than forcing tired kids into the more formal Restaurant upstairs. It's okay food, but the service is so incredibly slow that children can not sit for three hours waiting on butter noodles. If this is going to continue to be the only spot on property open, it should atleast have kid friendly options like chicken. I've seen other resorts that change up the restaurants open and try buffet style theme nights. You could charge by the head and just let folks come and go in a much more casual setting on the beach. The buccaneer did have fire dancers one night and the owners reception was great. But the other 5 nights of the week there was nothing but one place to eat. Wish they would have had the crab races like advertised on the website! Taxis are cheap into the town so we ended up going out to dinner because the resort wasn't the best option. However, after dark, organizing a taxi is important since they don't want you out past 9pm in the city center. Great food at angry nate's and rumrunners. All and all we do appreciate St Croix and this beautiful resort. We've been all over the Caribbean and this top of the game. We've already booked a trip back in July so let's hope they open that beach Restaraunt by then!!

From the cleaning person (Edith) to the Sales and Marketing Manager (Rebecca) service could not have been better. Every need or want was met with a smile and a can do attitude. The beach house at Whistle Point is a wonderful way to spend time with family or friends. The rooms and common areas are beautiful and well equipped. Every expectation was exceeded.

The Buccaneer has thrived!

I have just returned from a trip to St.Croix, and have stayed at the Buccaneer. The two hurricanes that passed through the Caribbean last season may have been devastating to the islands, but the Buccaneer appears to have thrived on it. It appears to be better than ever before! The grounds are beautiful, the restaurant serves delicious food, and the staff are courteous, helpful, and a delight to talk to. I will definitely return!

Fabulous Culture of Customer Service

The room was great, spectacular views of the ocean and property. This is a repeat trip and the Buc never disappoints. They pay attention to details and every employee from the top to the bottom wants you to have the greatest experience possible. It is a very relaxing destination and I do not thing of it as a hotel. It is a great property. I got to experience the Owner's reception on a Tuesday evening with beverages, food and local entertainment by a steel drum band and mojo dancers. This was great to see local culture. The owner Elizabeth Armstrong gave an overview of the property and talked to everyone in attendance one on one. It was a truly unique event. The beach, pools, golf course and property do not disappoint and are well maintained daily. This destination does not disappoint.

Worst service I have ever experienced

A potentially enjoyable evening was completely ruined by a rude, incompetent and disrespectful waitress. In over 40 years of dining out, I have never experienced anything like it before and I hope I never do again. After a poor start with it taking an hour for her to serve our drinks, things only got worse once the food arrived. She served our main course without clearing the table of our starters and then left us sat without any cutlery. When we complained she became argumentative and rude. To cap it all she even argued with her Manager when the bill was reduced to compensate us for her appalling performance. The excuse of `she is new` was totally unacceptable and the entire experience left us completely disappointed.
