I wanted to do something special for my birthday and knowing I would be travelling alone, I decided to stay at TheBodyHoliday during their September Solos month. The property was very recently renovated and I was greeted with a room upgrade, cake and a hand-written message from one of the staff members wishing me a pleasant stay. The room was impeccable - clean, comfortable with a luxurious giant bed. You could connect your phone to the speakers and listen to your music. The room also had a smart tablet which you could use to view the activities schedule, menus and all services and place an order if wanted. The staff is truly exceptional. They are very professional and go above and beyond - even swimming out to the lillypads in the ocean if you want to have a drink there! Housekeeping tidies up the room twice a day and brings each night a different kind of evening tea to help you sleep better. The Wellness Center is beautiful and the treatments are fantastic. I got a sunburn on my first day and the staff was flexible in changing my treatment to an aloe vera body wrap which helped soothe my skin. I ended up requesting the same therapist for all my treatments (Lawrencia) as she was phenomenal and this too was accommodated by the hotel. I also booked the Full Back Recovery and Acupuncture treatments additionally, which really helped my wellbeing. Special thanks to Pascal (General Manager) who personally wished me a happy birthday, Lawrencia (Wellness Center) for taking good care of me, Keron (Beach Service) for making sure I am 100% comfortable on the beach, the entire Water Sports team (especially JD and Scott) for giving me extra time whilst sailing and tubing, Melissa (Diving) who accompanied us to the dolphin/whale watching trip and let me drive the boat (!), Joy and Alice (Restaurant) who always made sure to check in on me whilst dining, Prabhakar (Executive Chef) for sending me the delicious birthday cake and all other staff members who worked hard to make this a truly remarkable stay. The guests were wonderful too and I have had the privilege to meet many kindred spirits who have made my stay even more enjoyable and I hope to stay in touch with. Suffice to say that even though I just returned from St. Lucia yesterday, I am already planning my next visit. I have met many return guests (which is always a good sign) and now I know why they keep coming back to TheBodyHoliday. I hope to be back soon!

The Body Holiday at Le Sport is magic

This was my third trip. But I've met guests who have been here 9, 12, 20 times. It's that good. It's that special. An all-inclusive resort on the northwest corner of the island, Body Holiday, aka Le Sport, seems to have achieved an undying loyalty among visitors with its gorgeous location, fantastic island food and exceptional staff. Then there are "the treatments." The spa huts lie at the top of a gentle hill overlooking the Caribbean Sea. There, they administer to your body with massages, scrubs, water therapy, facials, yoga classes, you name it. It's all included. You can get a massage every single day. Or just lie on the beach and drink yourself silly. Or go offsite and spend a few bucks to gawk at the still-smoldering Soufriere volcano or tool around the island on a Segway, a zipline or a horse. The mostly female spa staffers are the sweetest. In fact, the secret sauce to the Body Holiday -- if I may generalised a tad -- is the generous, pragmatic nature of the Lucians employed here. They made my time here exceptional. As a female traveler I never felt unsafe. In fact, lots of women of all ages show up together or form tight bonds. It's a big honeymoon draw, too. The sporting activities include boating, paddle boarding, hiking, bicycling, scuba diving. They offer tennis, golfing and swimming lessons. The big achievement is to climb one of the Pitons. The most crowded/costly period seems to be Dec. to April. Carnival time is also good, but it's in July and HAWT. The times I've visited: Sept. and Oct. As for the crowd: It's a lure for many Britons because the owners are British. That means you get to have 4 o' clock tea. But the guests are diverse and get along super well. The boat cruises and nightly parties draw a crowd. Everyone should do both at least once. A few downsides: the ride from the airport can be longish if you hit traffic, and there are "extras" for the asking when getting treatments, but I simply ignore most of them, choosing what's right for me. I always dread leaving, knowing that I'm exiting a special slice of the Caribbean that I want to keep secret but can't. Amazing place.

Great holiday despite a few problems

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the body hotel and loved it despite shortcomings. The setting is incredible and the resort itself is classy, nicely laid out and immaculate. The food is very average in all restaurants. In the main you will not find any expensive ingredients and there is a lot of hot (casserole) type dishes, or roasts on offer which is not really ideal when it’s so hot. The BBQ consisted of chicken or sausages! Very basic indeed. The deli is restricted to wraps or basic salads, it could do with more variety of food. Having said this it’s the Caribbean so I guess we can’t expect modern Mediterranean food that most of us have become accustomed to. The lifts didn’t work, the stairwells were still being worked on, and there was still building work going on above and behind the deli which caused slight noise disturbance if you were in that area. We had a luxury sea view room. It was passable but the bathroom was outdated and overall we didn’t get a wow factor! HOWEVER and it’s a big HOWEVER, I probably had the best holiday I have ever had and will be returning next year. The sports/spa facilities, cocktails and service are excellent and the staff are amazing, especially all the body guards who work tirelessly to look after you and keep you entertained. They are a major asset and we loved spending time with each and everyone of them. They get to know all the guests and they bounce around smiling all the time. They are without question the foundations of this hotel. The management are always wondering around ready for you to speak to and one night the owner and his adorable little boy sat next to us at dinner. This is a family run hotel and you can tell. The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed and very friendly. It feels like home and gets under your skin. It speaks for itself because ( at a guess) probably 80% of the guests return over and over again and I will be one of them. The problems just pale into insignificance after a day or so ( they will get sorted) and funnily enough just end up creating more chuckles. The laughs, fun and friendships I had, and made are way more important than what type of lettuce I eat or if my bathroom has two sinks!!! I think you get my drift. Go you will love it.

Another impeccable trip! The staff were amazing as usual, major shout out to Kurlina who manages the fantastic beach team; the lovely staff in the restaurant and not forgetting everyone in the spa and at reception. This is probably one of the main reasons why guests keep returning - you become part of a huge family. Management: were regularly visible on sight and approachable to talk to; they also took feedback on board with interest. Spa: there are some fantastic therapists who have been named in previous reviews - wow!! Overall treatments were brill and relaxing. Food: given that the place was about to close for refurb, I felt that on this trip, it was not as consistently brilliant as previous trips, however I also understood the reasons for it. Actually I think I need to stop telling people how brilliant this place is, otherwise they may not have space for me when I go back!!! 🙂

Great staff - shame about the way the masseuse team are treated

Stayed here for 9 nights with my partner. Positives 1. Restaurant and beach staff are very helpful and are always smiling and friendly 2. Good as my boyfriend is always active so he could go off and do loads of sports 3. Very sociable place, but beware you will continually be bumping into the same people, and will have to make chit chat when sometimes you just want to chill out Negatives 1. Lunch always the same- salad, pizza and pasta. Very little variation 2. Only 75 percent of hotel was actually renovated. Drilling and building works still going on with scruffy areas and a sewage smell on the stairs leading to the rooms- see photo 3. Lift not working! We had to climb 75 stairs to our room every day to the top floor. Knackering and meant we couldn’t pop back easily during the day. There are also nearly 100 stairs on the other side of the resort leading to the spa area with no lift. So be prepared to do a lot of climbing or I would highly recommend requesting a lower floor room 4. LAST BUT NOT LEAST- you get a spa treatment included daily but if you are a ‘no show’ to the treatment the poor massage ladies do not get paid. They are only paid per treatment so if you get caught up on the beach and do not attend they are sitting around with no pay. A lot of the ladies travel 2 hours to work and back each day, so a 4 hours commute and may only have 3 guest turn up out of their 8 appointments. I feel this is particularly bad of the hotel owners as we do pre-pay in our package cost for the treatments so this means they hold the money back and under pay for staff. Please do attend your treatments as otherwise the masseuses get their pay deducted and have families relying on this money coming in.
