The newly remodeled resort more than lived up to mine and my friends' expectations!

After a two year hiatus to attend a wedding in Jamaica, and Breathless during the remodel last year, I was very excited to get back to Temptation. The new lobby captured the resort's modern styled renovation with a fantastic oceanfront view and open floor layout. I did treat myself to a Master Suite so my friends and I would have a location to party whenever we wanted without the risk of getting security called on us like in the Dominican Republic last year. Everything about the resort was clean, stylish, and roomy. Positive improvements across the board; the food and service was beyond exceptional. Huge thanks to Franco, JJ, Romero, and Omar. My room was well equipped and comfortable and Ruben and Daniela, my hosts, went above and beyond making reservations and the chefs did an excellent job accommodating my Vegan friends. I was delighted with my stay, and Temptation Resort will continue to the destination for our annual Framily vacation!

I would not book this resort again too trendy and front desk not good at all but the people that work there are very good I'm sure they are wanting tips so they can make a living for their family

Resort was not ready for opening week

When we arrived the hotel was half way done. No air in the lobby or mirrors in the bathrooms. Mid week the ceilings were leaking everywhere from the air conditioning. It's a beautiful resort but was not ready to handle the capacity. Wish they were more accommodating to that being that we paid full price.

This was the second time i have been to the resort. We were delayed 28 hours due to a missed connection flight due to weather. I called Apple to set up the new transfers. I was informed that they would let the hotel know. Whilst the transfers were switched to our new time great, we got to the hotel 28 hours late only to find they had no idea we weren't showing up the day before as Apple hadn't contacted the hotel (temptations) and had given our room away. Only as we argued hard they magically "found" a spare room to stick us in for the night after telling us they had none left. The next day, about 1:30pm after having only 1 drink (in the sealed plastic cups available from the gift shop), i was slipped a GHB/roofie by the pool side bar staff. I know this as he was the ONLY person who had access to my drink. The only one. Within 10 minutes i was violently ill and uncontrollably sick. In the bathroom, poolside on the lounges, in front of the 250-300 people that were there. The staff threatened my girlfriend that they were going to send me to jail. Whilst i understand keeping the integrity and safety of the main pool, that is absolutely the wrong approach. I lost the entire saturday and still have burst blood vessels in my eyes. This is all due to the roof drug slipped into my drink. The first time i was there i actually heard a story of someone else boyfriend had the same thing happen, obviously i didn't think much of it as i am safe and it was super far fetched. Now i realise there is something going on. We were so fed up with the entire Apple and Temptation experience we left at 2:30am Sunday morning to get out of there. I am very unlikely to use, or recommend Apple or Temptation again. A shame, as my first experience there was great.

The one complaint I have is that the hotel had a raw sewage smell, which made the first few days very uncomfortable. I've been to this resort many times and that has never happened, very disappointed.

This was my 5th trip to Cancun and my first to Temptations. We were really impressed with the resort layout. Everything is so conveniently located. 3 different pools within a few hundred feet apart, the beach, restrooms, restaurants and guest rooms are all very close and convenient to move around the resort. Staff attitude was very nice and the place was kept super clean. Lots of fun entertainment going on too. The drinks were flowing constantly but I didn't see anyone get out of hand. Age of guests ranged from 20's to 70's and all shapes too. People go there to have fun and there's more interaction than other resorts. Kayaks, catamarans, paddle boards, jet skis all provided and available on the beach. It felt like one big party with great hosts making sure everyone is comfortable. Food was good and served non stop. If there's another resort that is this much fun I'd like to know about it. Otherwise, we will be back to temptations.

It has been quite some time since taking a vacation absent our children and we are glad we chose Temptations. Temptations resort offered exceptional all around service in a fun, pleasant, and highly upbeat environment. The resort was designed to allow us to party, relax, or do just about anything we desired at our discretion. From the many events at the sexy pool, various theme nights, and party at Paty O's each night, to the sports and quiet pools, Temptations kept us entertained and maintained a high pleasant/pleasurable environment. We will be going back!!

6th trip, 1st after the refurbishment.
Meggies63, Grimsby, United Kingdom

Our 6th trip, 1st at the newly refurbished resort. Grabbed a last minute bargain, flew in New Year’s Eve in time for the big event. Had a Trendy Garden View room, nice & quiet (this resort still struggles with quiet rooms). Loved the new beds & pillows. Only gripe was there is no drawer space. Large TV - lots of English speaking TV & movies, usual 'adult channels' ($12 for entire stay), can also order room service etc from here. Free safe. Nice bathroom, but struggled getting any amount of hot water in the mornings, had to let it run for ages (complained 5 times). Housekeeping was amazing, clean sheets & robes everyday, floors cleaned, shiny wardrobes polished, tons of towels & mini bar well stocked with water. Hotel has a completely different feel now, trendy, slick, but not plush. A big plus for us is that there are now tons of places to be indoors if the weather isn’t great. Reception has plenty of sofas & chairs with waitress service from the lobby bar. The new coffee shop is an amazing addiction, with snacks changing throughout the day, cookies, sandwiches, cakes to die for. The new sports bar is huge, with loads of TV screens, pool tables, card tables etc. The new Sexy Pool. Not so sexy. It’s big and separates itself out into the quiet end, where we hung out, and the pool bar end where it was too loud to hear yourself think, the DJ needs to tone it down a bit during the day, we like to talk to the other guests, not shout at them! And it’s way too deep. I’m 5’2” and the water comes up to my neck, impossible to drink a cocktail whilst in the water. Consequently when the pool games were on, people (ladies particularly) were cramming themselves on the ledge near the bar to watch. The days of the pool being packed with guests cheering on the contestants seem over. At least the water was warm, even in January. A nice addition are the in pool beds, sitting half in, half out of the water they’re a great place to chill. The ridiculous looking pool loungers aren’t so bad, apart from the fact that the mattresses aren't going to last 5 minutes. Already half of them have the strapping broken, so they don't stay firmly attached to the base. Plenty of towels though, and none of this ‘ticking off your room number’ business. However this meant that guests tended to just leave their towels anywhere, when you’re done, take them back and free up a bed people!! Poolside waiters/ waitresses in abundance. Foam Party. Disappointing. Seems like the company they hired to run it also provided a guy on stilts and 2 girls that stood and danced on the poolside for and hour or two. Seems very…sterile? Where were the Playmakers? Why weren’t they in the pool pouring shots? Where were the floaties? Bash. Seem to have sorted the silly furniture issue, now with tall tables & stools. The raised dance area is just an accident waiting to happen. Again, DJ is just too loud, conversations impossible to have. Same music. Every. Single. Night. Waitress service was amazing. Shows were very professional, very slick, but again, a bit sterile? A bit like every other resort? We hanker after Michael the policeman stripper, the scavenger hunts they used to have in Nice Shoes, now we are just the audience, not an integral part of the entertainment. Security was all over it. Everywhere. In the day time escorting anyone without a band off the premises double quick, shutting down anyone taking pictures at the Sexy Pool. Good. Not so good though, stopping people taking pictures of the shows. Why?? They’re on a raised stage, it’s not like taking pictures of guests. A couple of the Playmakers were dancing on the bars, only the bar staff behind them, again “No pictures!!”. I get we need to respect other guest’s privacy, but can we have some photographic memories please? The Playmakers. 11 of them. Eleven! All wonderful. Young, gorgeous, both the girls and the boys, and all super energetic & friendly, always had time to stop & chat, and did a pretty good job of running the games under JJ’s guidance. (Why yes, I am Miss Wet T-shirt 2018!) A lot of the games were familiar (Mr.Temptation, Iron Woman, Belly Flop etc, but still lacked a bit of edge, but I expect this will grow as the resort and it’s new staff finds their feet. Guests. 50% newbies…wow…… The average age seems to have dropped significantly to maybe 30-40 rather than the 40-50 we’re used to. A lot of ‘beautiful’ people, a lot of whom were too busy taking selfies all day to have any actual fun. But of course there were still a lot of great, fun, cool people there, we met some smashing folk, both old & new. Restaurants. Big, big improvement. No reservations (apart from She & the Hibachi grill), after all, who needs a schedule? Sea Flirt for waiter service breakfast was a nice alternative to the buffet. We tried, and enjoyed every restaurant. The ‘She’ experience was amazing. Will we be back? For sure. At a price. But (for UK readers) when you look at the full brochure price, especially if you upgrade to a Tower Room (an extra £3K for 2 weeks!) it’s crazy expensive for what you get, however improved it is. There is still that “you’re not members you can’t have that” attitude (yawn), so it’s still not a proper 5* resort, unlike our next (cheaper) Mexican holiday in April……

Its not been the first time I have visited this hotel but it is since the huge refurbishment and many of the changes are great but also equally negative. The main night bar (bash) is much bigger and much wider with the breeze coming off the ocean which was really needed BUT the dance from is in the wrong position and the wrong direction so it invades the main body of the room too much instead of being more across and leaving more room, also its raised so you cant really see across the area if people are on it. However the main guy keeping keeping people entertained Alejandro Hernandez is the bomb, always moving around interacting with guests laughing, joking, dancing and performing. The girl staff entertainers are always in the bar area dancing on the stage and the bar again making everyone laugh and feel at ease. Daytime fun I just that, so much fun. Entertainment all through the day with fun and games and quizes and even live bands on poolside. These guys work hard let me tell you (love you Laura Pullen and Shelby Rinehart ) its just a shame the guy section of the staff are not as visible at nights and putting themselves out there more. Food is top notch with just about everything (but not the rib eye steak (bad very bad) with 4 great specialist restaurants and the buffet too. Breakfast at a buffet on holidays is as you would expect but eggs are made anyway you like fresh and made to order. Pool bar and swim up very big since remodel but little under staffed when really busy (bigger bar same number of staff ) but there is waitress service too. The guests throw themselves into all activities day and the theme nights and its just the friendliest hotel I have ever been too hence my 6 trip there. And for those wondering about the price its all inclusive and if say you went to any of the canary islands most hotels are half board, so think what you spend extra on food and drinks and then weight up the better weather you will have and the outstanding service and facilities you get and its really a no brainer .

first timer here.

Got threatened by the sales staff on our honey moon
guelph_flyer,
Sun Jan 14 11:19:31 EST 2018
Let's start off with the good. The resort is beautiful, and it is a a lot of fun. The food is just absolutely amazing. The staff here try hard to please and do a great job. They work hard and deserve the respect. My wife and I came here on our honey moon, for 10 days. One of our friends has a time share here and sent us in on a referral with VIP benefits. One of the things you are forced to do is sit in on a time share presentation for the couple that referred you. We started off wanting to buy into the time share and realized after sitting down with the numbers that it doesn't cater to Canadians as we are at a 25 percent loss of buying power because of our dollar. After being held hostage for 4 hours of our vacation. We were told that we have to sign a form that if we discuss the prices that we were told outside of this room, we would face legal action. I felt a little angry that if I'm here paying for a service and I don't want to buy I will be facing legal action. Rick the sales manager started off as a nice guy but after he threatened me started sounding frustrated with us not buying. I have been to many resorts and this was probably one I would have considered making my regular go to destination but I refuse to be threatened by sales staff. I love the resort and the fact many of my friends have time shares here. The way they treat you once you buy the time share is pitiful. Some of the people I know are considering selling them for a fraction of what they bought it for just because of the way they were treated. If you want to come to this resort do not buy a time share and fly with Expedia or any other website instead. Once they have you roped in you will be treated like garbage. For the cost of the resort there are many other places you will get way better treatment and save a lot of money.
