Visit St. Nicholas Abbey, one of the three remaining Jacobean mansions in the Western Hemisphere, or take a solar-powered electric tram and enjoy spectacular views of sparkling pools, hanging stalactites, and gorgeous limestone caves.

Satiate your appetite at Sugar Cane Room for a fantastic, complimentary full breakfast buffet including waffle and egg stations prepared just how you like it. Eat your fill with an assortment of breads, muffins, and pastries, as well as more traditional breakfast items and local Bajan favorites like flying fish, fried plantains, and pumpkin and corn fritters. Rilaks Deck is another delightful option. This South Beach Miami-inspired outdoor lounge serves light snacks and cocktails in a festive ambiance. Music genres like jazz, soul, and R&B add a Caribbean flair that gives this pleasant hangout vitality and life.

We had an ocean front room on the third floor and it was excellent. The room was very spacious and clean. Access to the beach was amazing along with the three pools. The hotel ambassadors were very friendly and helpful. We really liked the location on the west side of the island.

Brilliant holiday!

We have stayed at a number of hotels on the west cost, including Sandy Lane and Royal Fairmont, we (actually it was me as I worry a lot) studied the reviews both from this site and others, Those reviews some good some not so seemed to suggest that the resort was slightly old and tired. (slightly concerning huh?) well we didn't have to worry, the room and resort was lovely, staff were warm and friendly, breakfast (omelettes by nice lady called Either) was great nice selection and the birds kept at bay, Lunch and Dinner good selection (but the same every day it might be nice to see rotation) team on reception were great and Joy just could not have been more helpful booking restaurants and taxis. There had been some really bad weather in the days before we got there which meant the beach had a little less sand than we expected, and the waves were the largest we have seen in our many trips to the island, but when the sea settled the swimming was fine. They have a large range of activities and water sports, but we did not use them, and we brought our own diving kit, but those we saw said the equipment was fine. The Hotel was in the process of felling trees and resetting tiles and concrete, this was a little noisy, but although a slight pain they have to do it sometime we were just unlucky, it really it did not spoil anything.. and the cold towels, and the ice lollies made up for any problems. all in all, we had a really nice stay at a quality resort, well done Tamerind !

We have visited Barbados several times over the years ,and chose this year to move further up the Westcoast. The attraction being beach and water sports. On check in we were told we had been given an upgrade, however we had booked a Pool/ Garden view ,and that's what we got ! Whilst the Tamarind and adjacent properties (Treasure beach & The House) share this beach, the weather has not been kind ! From early season there has been heavy beach erosion and therefore swimming in the sea even for the accomplished should be approached with care. This is something that we had not in several years experienced, and were not advised about ,although having now read several reviews ,it's been an issue! Overall it's a question of research,we came to the Tamarind as part of an extended stay, we would normally stay at the Gap. As a couple it's not great value in comparison. Families may find it worthwhile.

Perfect

We loved our stay at the Tamarind Had a problem with the loo and were moved/upgraded with no fuss Really friendly staff, great food and service We ate out at other hotels and restaurants but found the food at the Tamarind was right up there with the best. Would definitely return there
