So we had a gentleman have a heart attack while swimming in front of us. After bringing him to shore as we started to CPR and asking for an AED. Only to find out the wasn't 1 on the property. Then the staff watch with no idea of what to do. Then they told us we could stop CPR because the ambulance was on its way. Witch it took 30 minutes to get there. All resorts should have AEDs with the age group of people visiting these resorts.

This was definitely a place for families, relaxing and lots of beach time! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort was extremely clean! Don't get pressured into doing the time share thing, we did and it wasn't at all what it was made out to be. Enjoy it's a great place and we would go back.

This is not an over the board hotel, but all rooms overlook the ocean and it's beautiful views, I have been to this hotel 5 times now and would not change it, the staff is very polite, friendly, they welcome you and everyone fits right in, you really can not have a bad time. the facilities are very clean and there is plenty to do. or you can just relax. the only down fall is WIFI service it does not always work but you can still enjoy yourself. love this hotel and Happy Island

First time to Aruba
Feb 08 2018
Stayed at the Tamarijn for a week in January and we were absolutely pleased. The lay out of the hotel we loved compared to the high-rises that flood the beach. Food was always acceptable. Only suggestion is that they change up the breakfast bar from time to time and offer mimosa's everyday instead of just Sunday. The requirement to reserve one of the specialty restaurants is acceptable but we were always told that they only had opennings at like 6:30 or again at 8:30 and while we opted for the 6:30, realized that several tables sat empty the entire time we dined and felt like they could have accomodated more reservations. This was at all the restaurants we ate at in the resort and we observed this while walking past the others as well on our way to the buffets when we didn't have appointments. Disappointing to be told there are no reservations available but then you look in and see more than a hand full of open tables. Other than that, everything was just wonderful. Special thanks to bar tender Diego at the snack bar. So on top of things. Highly recommend and anyone who stays at Tamaraijn with complaints probably isn't satisfied anywhere.

The front staff and concierge were not helpful and very unfriendly. No transportation to and from the airport was not provided although it was supposed to be included. We had to take a cab at the cost of and additional $50.00. Our room was directly behind the entertainment venue and the resort was almost empty, we should have been given a different room. We were informed that there has not been an Apple representative at the hotel in over two years. We did not see any advantage to booking through Apple Vacation. We will let our travel agent know about this after the holidays. We experienced air delays resulting in the loss of an entire day at the resort. We will be contacting American Airlines regarding a refund of our lost day cost. We have booked with Apple many times over the last 15 years but no longer feel that there is any advantage to continue to do so.

Not the service you would expect from an all-inclusive
Sep 07 2017
This was our first all-inclusive experience so we didn't know what to expect, but the hotel lacked basic things like room service. Almost everything needed to be booked through the concierge and they wouldn't allow bookings, even for the hotel restaurants over the phone. Local calls from the room were not free and were significantly expensive. They charged a $1 per night fee that they deem optional for the local YMCA. From what our friends have experienced at other all-inclusives drinks are brought to you on the beach, or available in the room. There was nothing more than an empty mini-fridge in the room. Drinks were not brought to you, you had to go to the bar and for us that was pretty far from our building. Are room air conditioning was great and the maid service was good, I felt like they were very tight on the number of towels they would allow you to have. I enjoyed being able to check-out bicycles without a cost. The proximity of the hotel to downtown and a grocery store was great. We went to the store to get soda because it wasn't easy to get anything other than hot coffee in the mornings at the buffet where the service was really poor. I felt like the resort was under staffed and during buffet meals "servers" were often struggling to just keep tables clean much less bring you drinks. The one really redeeming quality of the resort was the phenomenal beach. The beach was the best we came across on the island. Beaches in Aruba are very rocky, or have rocks under the sand and that was minimal for large areas of the Tamarijn coast. But because we were in the last building of the resort our piece of beach butt up against an open beach and locals would often come in to the resort area and use the chairs or hang out ruining the atmosphere. I loved Aruba, I'm not sure how I feel about the all-inclusive. I enjoyed it, for our honeymoon it was a lot of fun but I didn't think it was worth the cost. I don't feel like I got the all-inclusive benefits I expected to have for the cost.

Food was excellent, and hotel was right on the beach. They needed more beach chairs as some days if you did not get up early you did not have one.

Tamarin review
Apr 01 2017
Overall, we loved this resort- especially the access to the beautiful beach, the food and drinks, the ability to use the sister resort, the Divi. While we were there they closed the pool for emergency repairs, and the nearby bar, so we had construction mess and noise. The hotel room was old and could use some updates, and the staff wasn't quick to take your drink orders.

At first, some of the pictures made my husband a little skeptical, however, this property in person did NOT disappoint. EVERY room is ocean front allowing for there not to be a bad view. The rooms were clean and cozy, not overly fancy but we were on the beach and only used them to sleep. We were greeted with smiles daily from all staff members. Access to other properties allowed us to explore more than just our resort. We only ate at the buffet as it offered something different for all us to enjoy daily. We can not wait to go back.

Every room has an Ocean view

I don't believe there is a bad view in this place. The design of this resort gives everyone an ocean view and you can sun bath right outside your room. Although this is an older building the rooms remain comfortable temperature wise, you will only need your fan in the evening we found the ac made the room too cold. Unfortunately, the choice of room furniture makes the space crowded, I would suggest they edit what is in there to create a more visual appealing space. This resort is going green and I thank you. At check in you receive a bag to use for shopping or heading out to different beaches. In there are drinking bottles, since they have ice machines and water stations through out the resort so you can refill any time. No waste plastic or messy bottles lay around. The bar staff will put your favourite drink in it. Try the Aruba Ariba. Since they are reducing their waste there are no small bottles of personal products in your room just dispensers for soap and shampoo. Oddly no conditioner and the shampoo is not an all in one. So bring some. There is a ton of free items available to you that are unique for a resort. Bikes , floaters for the ocean, wind surfing classes, snorkeling equipment, yoga, pilates, books in the front lobby by the bathrooms, Wednesday was a bike and snorkeling tour, parking for your rental car. That was just what we found. Through out the resort the staff was friendly and helpful. It has been a few resorts since we have been so fortunate as to have non creepy water staff. These gentlemen need a pat on the back they were lovely not off putting like at too many resorts , thank you. Others who did thier job plus were engaging and made our vacation a little better where, Luisa Rivero at the 2 main bars, Isa at breakfast, Doris in the Italian restaurant, Santa Rosa and Jennifer at the Palm Grill. Thank you As with any where there are things that need work. Evening entertainment, love that there is music with dinner and that the shows were different than other resorts. Not the same old same old. Unfortunately, the switch between the entertainment in an evening was rarely smooth and guests would leave thinking the night was done or because they were bored waiting. This is a shame because we all want to enjoy every moment and people often missed out on some great shows because of the lag time. The main bars were clearly short staff. Too much counter space to cover per person. It left customers wondering if they were not noticed and lead to some being rude. A lack of allergy training was apparent. I am accustom to adjusting for my allergy when traveling but the staff often didn't know how to help me order. Staff needs a policy in place to handle severe allergies so they can be successful helping the clients. I had a mobility issue ( accident and surgery before our vacation ) while I was visiting. The resort was wonderful placing us in lower adjoining rooms close to the main area. There is a lovely boardwalk that runs the length of the resort with an ocean view, wear sandals it is hot on the feet. The challenge at the resort was locating an accessible spot to get into the ocean. No sure how they can resolve this issue but do know this could be a challenge on your visit. I would love to return

Great bang for your buck$$$

Tamarijn is nice – right on the beach, access and shuttles to the other resort, Divi Aruba. Good choice of restaurants and actually, for resort food, it was pretty good! We only had one bad experience at the Italian place but that was more due to the waiter vs the food itself. Breakfast got a little monotonous, so we ventured off site one day for breakfast and found a great place to eat at Dushi Bagels and Burgers in the hotel/Highrise area. That’s also a great shopping area – but shops don’t open til 5 or 6, so it’s more for night life. We did parasailing which was right outside the Hyatt, so we hung out at their beach for the morning which was also a nice change of pace. I would totally go back, and perhaps next time stay closer to the hotel zone. It seems like that’s where more action is. Tamarijn was a lot of older people and couples.
