Relaxing!

We vacation with another couple and have high standards for our final choice of vacation spots. We were so thrilled with the laid back, quiet, simplicity of Sunset at the Palms. Because there weren't 500 people staying at this resort we received excellent personalized service. The staff was went out of their way to accommodate our needs, but did not hover, allowing us our privacy. The facility is small and gave us the feeling of being in the rain forest with our individual cabins. Highlights include Paul, "the piano man" in the martini bar sharing his talents. Alvin, a personable hard-working young man we enjoyed talking with everyday. Finally, the beautiful white sanded beach and turquoise water with not a wave in sight. This resort isn't for the "party all nighters, but for the adults looking for a relaxing, quiet vacation.

It was decent but I would not stay here again. My girlfriend was eaten up by bedbugs and had to go to the Dr to diagnose and get something for the itching. The choices of food were not the greatest and was not available all day. Been to much better places. Was disappointed.

Not Impressed with Apple Vacations.

Apple website was misleading, hotel is not on the beach and the beach that it has access to is not "7 mile beach". Bathroom had NO bathroom door, had to change rooms. Room had view of a concrete slab construction site. AC in the room did not work properly, room fridge was not restocked by staff. The restaurants were rarely available for us to use, and we had to eat at the buffet (which was average). Food at the beach bar was disgusting. Had problems with the water sports office, charged us for a sailboat lesson that we didn't take and wouldn't refund the charge.

We really did enjoy the facilities. Thought there could have been a few more bells and whistles for the 5 golden apples. However the Apple staff at the airport was extremenely unorganized and uniformed. They really had no idea what was going on.

Me and my wife's vacation to Sunset at the Palms for our birthdays was our second trip there. It was everything we expected, exceptional vacation. The staff was so friendly, the food was dliscious, and the beach was clean. The only complaint we have, which we should have expected do to the dense garden surrounding the rooms, were the amount of lizards and bugs in our room each day/night. This often caused us to lose much sleep hearing them scattering around and often waking to get a few bugs out of the room. Also, we will try not to fly Delta again, the trip home was on time, but on the way down the pilots were 45 minutes late on our first flight causing us to miss our connection out of Atlanta by fifteen minutes and forcing us to wait an additional 5 1/2 hours to catch the next connecting flight. Overall it was a great trip, this being our second time to SATP.

A Wonderfully Unique Hotel

We have traveled to many countries and hotels around the world but, never have experienced anything like Sunset at the Palms. The bungalows are nestled in the gardens of the property, making it feel like you are staying in the jungle. You are always surrounded by trees, palms, flowers, and tranquility. Falliing asleep and waking up to nature was truly amazing. The rooms are clean, fashionably updated, making you feel like you are staying in luxury. The property is always well manicured and the hotel itself is well taken care of. I highly recommend Sunset at the Palms.

The resort was beautiful. The only issue we had was on the beach the close contact with the locals who were constantly allowed to hound you to buy products. It gets frustrating quickly.

Things to know about Sunset at the Palms

The property is gorgeous--lush plants that really make you feel you're in a tropical paradise. The rooms do not have glass windows, rather, screens w/ wooden slats. That means you hear loud tropical birds, traffic and other noises during the night (and others can hear you). Although the hotel info mentions movies at night, they no longer do that. The food is good and plentiful. Fun having a grill at the beach so you can spend all day relaxing there if you choose. And the nicer restaurant that's only open 4 nights a week is wonderful. We did a couple's massage, and only one massage therapist was good. The other was so bad the hotel ended up not charging for that half of the price (though it would've been nice to have the whole thing free). If you're looking for a VERY laid-back experience, this is a great property.

Just got back and I tell you if you are looking for a laid back comfortable resort this one is spot on. The staff was great and really went all the way to make sure you were taken care of. A great week. Met a lot of great folks from all over the world. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. I’ll be back.

We had a wonderful time at the Sunset at the Palms. Food was excellent in the buffet and we truly enjoyed the Chef's showcase and Lotus, fantastic food and service! We loved the grill at the beach with the best Reggae nachos and jerk chicken. Loved the beach and always a place to sit. We have to agree with other posts stating that the rooms could use a refreshing, especially the soiled lamp shades, small amount of maintenance could make it much better. Rooms could use some better lighting as it was dark and hard to see in your suitcase. Only other complaint would be with the RUDE people who don't go to the designated smoking areas. People smoked on the beach and even on their balconies which we could smell while trying to enjoy our coffee. More needs to be done to correct this. Sunset is an amazing, quaint resort with lots to offer. Had a very relaxing time and met some great people from Germany. We would definitely return to Sunset.

After spending a week at Sunset At The Palms in Negril,Jamaica. Here is a heartfelt letter for anyone wanting to visit this amazing resort. To all employees and management at SATP. I wanted to write this letter letting you all know about the excellent service my friends and I received by your staff while we were vacationing in Negril. It was a fabulous week for all of us, we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful settings, We received a glowing welcoming from the front desk and we couldn't have been happier every encounter with the personnel was excellent. Beyond the relaxing beach and the atmosphere of the resort with all the plush vegetation, the next best part was the fantastic food and excellent service at all the eateries especially the Lotus Restaurant.. The menu has a great variety of food choices and the preparation made for superior tasting. The staff was very attentive, professional and friendly. If you are interested in staying in a 400 room resort this is not for you. If you want long food lines, and food prepared for 800 or more people this is not for you. But if you want special attention,no lines, food prepared daily for about 200 people this resort is yours. A very special THANK YOU to the following staff. Lynette Williams, Sharon Morris,Sherice Williams, Erica Williams, Brenda Gray, Kadian McPherson, Gloria Allen, Claudette Hunter, Alex, David Kenroy, Stacy, Darrius, And the bartender that stole the show David “Ja Dino” We have stayed at many resorts and have never come across any employees that are so helpful and willing to go above and beyond for a guest. I'd just like to say thank you again, and we will be highly recommending the SATP Resort to all of our family and friends. Phil & Cam Stanley Lynchburg,Virginia

Excellent resort! This was our first time at an adult only resort and it exceeded our expectations. This was my husbands first time in Jamaica. My husband is Guyanese. The staff are outstanding, super friendly and accommodating! The staff made sure we were always comfortable. Hats off to the chefs; my husband and I are vegan and we couldn't stop eating. My husband is a very disciplined eater and fell in love with Jamaican cuisine. They made entrees we had never even imagined could be made vegan. (Ackee, the national dish). We took in all that the resort had to offer including the gym, the beach, the spa and the nightly entertainment and we had no complaints. It was a home away from home only in paradise. We did get a lot of rain when we were there but that didn't lessen our positive experience. Our experience was fantastic and we would go back.
