A Little Piece of Heaven on Earth!!

Sunset at the Palms Resort far exceeded my expectations! I will definitely stay here again upon my return. From the time I stepped on the resort until I departed, I felt like I was at home. The hospitality was superb! I highly recommend this resort!

We vacation with another couple and have high standards for our final choice of vacation spots. We were so thrilled with the laid back, quiet, simplicity of Sunset at the Palms. Because there weren't 500 people staying at this resort we received excellent personalized service. The staff was went out of their way to accommodate our needs, but did not hover, allowing us our privacy. The facility is small and gave us the feeling of being in the rain forest with our individual cabins. Highlights include Paul, "the piano man" in the martini bar sharing his talents. Alvin, a personable hard-working young man we enjoyed talking with everyday. Finally, the beautiful white sanded beach and turquoise water with not a wave in sight. This resort isn't for the "party all nighters, but for the adults looking for a relaxing, quiet vacation.

It was decent but I would not stay here again. My girlfriend was eaten up by bedbugs and had to go to the Dr to diagnose and get something for the itching. The choices of food were not the greatest and was not available all day. Been to much better places. Was disappointed.

Not Impressed with Apple Vacations.
Jan 15 2017
Apple website was misleading, hotel is not on the beach and the beach that it has access to is not "7 mile beach". Bathroom had NO bathroom door, had to change rooms. Room had view of a concrete slab construction site. AC in the room did not work properly, room fridge was not restocked by staff. The restaurants were rarely available for us to use, and we had to eat at the buffet (which was average). Food at the beach bar was disgusting. Had problems with the water sports office, charged us for a sailboat lesson that we didn't take and wouldn't refund the charge.

We really did enjoy the facilities. Thought there could have been a few more bells and whistles for the 5 golden apples. However the Apple staff at the airport was extremenely unorganized and uniformed. They really had no idea what was going on.

Me and my wife's vacation to Sunset at the Palms for our birthdays was our second trip there. It was everything we expected, exceptional vacation. The staff was so friendly, the food was dliscious, and the beach was clean. The only complaint we have, which we should have expected do to the dense garden surrounding the rooms, were the amount of lizards and bugs in our room each day/night. This often caused us to lose much sleep hearing them scattering around and often waking to get a few bugs out of the room. Also, we will try not to fly Delta again, the trip home was on time, but on the way down the pilots were 45 minutes late on our first flight causing us to miss our connection out of Atlanta by fifteen minutes and forcing us to wait an additional 5 1/2 hours to catch the next connecting flight. Overall it was a great trip, this being our second time to SATP.

A Wonderfully Unique Hotel

We have traveled to many countries and hotels around the world but, never have experienced anything like Sunset at the Palms. The bungalows are nestled in the gardens of the property, making it feel like you are staying in the jungle. You are always surrounded by trees, palms, flowers, and tranquility. Falliing asleep and waking up to nature was truly amazing. The rooms are clean, fashionably updated, making you feel like you are staying in luxury. The property is always well manicured and the hotel itself is well taken care of. I highly recommend Sunset at the Palms.

The resort was beautiful. The only issue we had was on the beach the close contact with the locals who were constantly allowed to hound you to buy products. It gets frustrating quickly.

We have been to Negril 7 + times. This is on our top 3. The resort is super quaint. So many tree frogs. So relaxing. The fact that the beach abscess is across the street never was an issue. It was actually kind of nice to just have a few extra steps back to the room. The rooms where always super clean. The only negative was the staff was friendly just not overly helpful to go out of there way to get you something. They would offer guidance just never said let me go get it for you. We will stay here again. We just loved the atmosphere.

Great beach, good food & friendly staff

These charming bungalows are tucked into lush and well maintained grounds and we enjoyed looping around the walkways checking out all the beautiful plants. Loved the small day bed on the deck for watching the rain. The rooms themselves are cute but a little outdated. Would recommend getting a room with glass instead of screens as if affects noise and A/C retention. The bed and pillows could have been more comfortable and we also had issues with the shower/hot water. The staff are hard-working and friendly, everybody in the restaurant was especially great and we also loved chatting with Novlett who ended up giving us an amazing massage. The food from the buffet was good, the Lotus Leaf better; excellent dinner and service there! The beach was huge with plenty of room, shady palapas and trees and we loved the bar & grill being right there. The only drawback is that it is across the street and closed from 7pm to 7 am. The best perk was being able to use the small sailboats (with no prior experience) to try our hand at sailing across the bay, very cool! Overall we had a great experience here but as a young couple would probably stay elsewhere in the future.

Amazing Vacation

I spent the week with my girlfriend and boy was I glad she picked this. The resort was gorgeous, peaceful, and except for the frogs quiet at night. The food was great and had no complaints. I must say the staff was amazing and always friendly. If you go make sure to visit Oshaine at the martinie bar, he will put a smile on your face and If you need anything he is the man to ask. Craig is one of the wait staff and again if you need help with anything or want a smile put on your face just take a few seconds to say hi!!! The only complaints I had was being constantly asked to buy marijuana, cigars, and if we want to Para sailing by local hawkers. NO!!! want to sit in my beach chair and relax. One last thing that might not be mentioned is the walk to the beach, you do have to cross the road but thankfully they have a crossing guard.

Beach is paradise

Just my husband and I went for a week. We are tired of the bigger resorts and were looking for something different. We found it at the Sunset at the Palms. The cabins are like living in the jungle. Listening to the tree frogs all night was wonderful. The place is small and you get to know all the wonderful staff and most of the guests. We made some great friends. The food was good. Nightly entertainment. Paul the piano man was excellent. The beach is across the busy street but no big deal. They have a crossing guard to make sure you cross safely. Bar and snack shack at the beach. Food was good here too. The beach is clean and water is clear and so calm. Just grab a floatie and watch the rays glide by. It was heaven. The vendors on the beach are a pain cuz they don't discourage easily. They think we are all rich. You have to be forceful in saying no thanks I'm good and then ignore them. They are wonderful people but unrelenting. The Ricks cafe tour was the best. Only $58US and the huge catamaran picks you up on the beach and it's a beautiful ride with music and drinks. Snorkelling on the reef. Swimming in the caves. Time spent at Ricks Cafe and on 7 mile beach at Magaritaville. Then the ride back watching the most gorgeous sunset. It was a great vacation. Will be back. Only negative we have is the cabins need some updating...and fixing. Didn't spoil our holiday though.

8 days of paradise

I have to say that this place hands down had the most friendly and helpful staff we have ever encountered. This alone was made trip worth it. Shout out to Sien(?) and Nic at the beach, Kerri, Cornelius, Alex, to the awesomely talented lady that sits in the gate of the resort that could remember our room # after the first day (110 LOL!). There are soooo many others including the executive chef and his crew, to everyone that works at Sunset and the Palms, THANK YOU!!!! The rooms are a bit outdated but very clean....not even a complaint as we didn't go to Negril to sit in our room the entire time. The grounds were gorgeous, lush vegetation everywhere. The private beach was great, plenty big and plenty of huts and chairs so there's no need to go down to reserve seats at 7 in the morning. The food was top notch, never had a bad meal and the choices were amazing. The buffet had a different theme every night which was great. The Lotus Leaf was also delicious both times we went. We did have reservations for chef's showcase but we forgot about them so we never had a chance to try it. Seafood buffet was amazing on Saturday night, even lobster tails on the buffet!! The bars were all great, great top shelf selections, great bartenders, the guy that plays piano was also great! My only complaint for this place was the night time entertainment. We knew that this isn't a party resort whatsoever but the people that were playing music at the pool bar at night were not good. One group even used a synthesizer for words of the songs. That would be my only suggestion. I will definitely come back to this place, by far one of the most relaxing vacations i've ever been on! We did use Eris's Chillout Tours for taking us where we wanted to go. Eric was awesome! His # is 876-790-3154 and has a website too, ericschillouttours.com. We also did a snorkel trip with Mike, he's the one with the red and white glass bottom boat that is down at the beach on Bloody Bay. The shopping along the beach was also great, they have most of the stuff you'll find in town and everything was cheaper too so go give them business because they work their tails off.
