Sunset at the Palms Resort far exceeded my expectations! I will definitely stay here again upon my return. From the time I stepped on the resort until I departed, I felt like I was at home. The hospitality was superb! I highly recommend this resort!

We vacation with another couple and have high standards for our final choice of vacation spots. We were so thrilled with the laid back, quiet, simplicity of Sunset at the Palms. Because there weren't 500 people staying at this resort we received excellent personalized service. The staff was went out of their way to accommodate our needs, but did not hover, allowing us our privacy. The facility is small and gave us the feeling of being in the rain forest with our individual cabins. Highlights include Paul, "the piano man" in the martini bar sharing his talents. Alvin, a personable hard-working young man we enjoyed talking with everyday. Finally, the beautiful white sanded beach and turquoise water with not a wave in sight. This resort isn't for the "party all nighters, but for the adults looking for a relaxing, quiet vacation.

It was decent but I would not stay here again. My girlfriend was eaten up by bedbugs and had to go to the Dr to diagnose and get something for the itching. The choices of food were not the greatest and was not available all day. Been to much better places. Was disappointed.

Not Impressed with Apple Vacations.

Apple website was misleading, hotel is not on the beach and the beach that it has access to is not "7 mile beach". Bathroom had NO bathroom door, had to change rooms. Room had view of a concrete slab construction site. AC in the room did not work properly, room fridge was not restocked by staff. The restaurants were rarely available for us to use, and we had to eat at the buffet (which was average). Food at the beach bar was disgusting. Had problems with the water sports office, charged us for a sailboat lesson that we didn't take and wouldn't refund the charge.

We really did enjoy the facilities. Thought there could have been a few more bells and whistles for the 5 golden apples. However the Apple staff at the airport was extremenely unorganized and uniformed. They really had no idea what was going on.

Me and my wife's vacation to Sunset at the Palms for our birthdays was our second trip there. It was everything we expected, exceptional vacation. The staff was so friendly, the food was dliscious, and the beach was clean. The only complaint we have, which we should have expected do to the dense garden surrounding the rooms, were the amount of lizards and bugs in our room each day/night. This often caused us to lose much sleep hearing them scattering around and often waking to get a few bugs out of the room. Also, we will try not to fly Delta again, the trip home was on time, but on the way down the pilots were 45 minutes late on our first flight causing us to miss our connection out of Atlanta by fifteen minutes and forcing us to wait an additional 5 1/2 hours to catch the next connecting flight. Overall it was a great trip, this being our second time to SATP.

We have traveled to many countries and hotels around the world but, never have experienced anything like Sunset at the Palms. The bungalows are nestled in the gardens of the property, making it feel like you are staying in the jungle. You are always surrounded by trees, palms, flowers, and tranquility. Falliing asleep and waking up to nature was truly amazing. The rooms are clean, fashionably updated, making you feel like you are staying in luxury. The property is always well manicured and the hotel itself is well taken care of. I highly recommend Sunset at the Palms.

The resort was beautiful. The only issue we had was on the beach the close contact with the locals who were constantly allowed to hound you to buy products. It gets frustrating quickly.

Wonderful resort for a relaxing honeymoon!

My husband and I spent a relaxing week at Sunset at the Palms for our honeymoon. The atmosphere of the resort, especially the tree house theme, was exactly what we were looking for - relaxed, beautiful, and calm. From the moment we walked onsite, every staff member was friendly, genuine, and accommodating. It was a pleasure to get to know the staff! We both thought the food was excellent, and we appreciated the variety every day. The fish tacos at the beach bar were also great. Although you do have to cross the street to get to the beach, it is no big deal - there was always a guard to ensure that traffic was stopped before you crossed. The beach itself was picturesque, and we never had to wait for chairs or an umbrella. We loved the availability and convenience of free watersports - kayaking and stand up paddleboarding are a must! The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and very relaxing. We loved the comfortable balcony. For some people who are complaining about getting bitten by bugs, I have to wonder why they are surprised by this - it comes with the territory when traveling to a tropical island! If you bring some bug spray you'll be fine. We would love to go back some day!

This resort was absolutely beautiful! It was stunning in its decor, and pictures do not do the property enough justice. From before our arrival such as setting up the MoBay representative, until the moment we left, we received excellent attention and care. The MoBay representative met us as soon as we got off the plane in Montego Bay. She was very kind and courteous. She led us through all of the customs and immigration lines, we did not have to wait at all. The MoBay Lounge was comfortable and everyone was very helpful. Upon arrival at Sunset at the Palms (around 2pm) we were immediately greeted by the concierge. We were checked in and told we would need to wait a short period for our room to become available. We went to the buffet and enjoyed lunch in the resort restaurant. The property is very well maintained, clean, and beautiful. It feels like you are in a Botanical garden. We did not like the fumigation everyday at 4:30pm, but it indeed helped with the bugs. We stayed either inside our room during the fumigation spraying. The pool was nice, a perfect size and the swim-up bar was very nice and never looked too crowded. All of the bartenders were nice and quickly got us drinks. The food at the beach grill was our favorite! Always very flavorful and very convenient with being right on the beach. We had no trouble getting shaded lounge chairs and drinks were available by waiter and bar service. The water and views were stunning. The people on the beach did not bother us as the guard was watching to make sure we were not being disturbed. The singers on the beach who walk up and down the beach enhanced our beach experience as they were funny and actually did sing quite well. We gave them a tip for singing to us. In my opinion, there are two cons with this property. 1. The bathroom door in the room has no privacy. It did not lock shut and the actual door was not solid and you can see through into the bathroom. 2. The selection for food was scarce. You have food available almost all day at the buffet, and select nights you can eat (with a reservation) at one of the two specialty restaurants. We were staying at the resort Friday-Monday and could only enjoy the Chefs Showcase dinner on Sunday as there was no dinner option besides the buffet on Saturday. I grew tired of the buffet food very quickly as I was eating it for all my meals. I also feel the snacks/desserts were not many and was missing the basic desserts like ice cream and cookies. Overall, I would recommend this resort and I would definitely stay here again. The service we received, and the stunning property is definitely worth visiting again.

I must say, if you are not an outdoor person this resort may not be for you. Upon arrival my partner and I were greeted by the bell hop and receptionist welcoming us to Jamaica. We were then escorted to the check-in area where we received cold towels and their native fruit punch garnished with fresh pineapples and cherries. It was refreshingly delicious! After check-in, the bellman escorted us to our tree house (room) which was in the back of the resort so we received quite the guided tour. The scenery, the gardens and the trees were beautiful and labeled for knowledge of the kinds of things growing on the resort. They have a wonderful spa, a gym and a swim up bar by the pool. When we arrived to our tree house it was pleasantly cool (air conditioned) with a king sized bed and TV mounted on the tree wood. Our balcony had a lounge area and a separate table with chairs to eat. They also had what looked like a tennis racket that zaps bugs. Like a swatter with enough electricity running through it to kill mosquitoes. We had a loaded fridge and a spa shower.... everything was pretty relaxing. The food at this resort is exceptional. I truly enjoyed every meal served here whether it was at the buffet, one of the restaurants or at the shack on the beach. On the beach they have lots of vendors to the right of the beach and nude beach to the far left. The water was beautiful and clear. I saw sting rays lol. You can even get a massage on the beach. Truly amazing! They have an activity board in the lobby listing all the activities they are doing on the resort that day. They offer yoga, shuttle rides to some excursions and private dinners at an additional price. The people here are truly wonderful. Overall good vibes and great hospitality. I felt at home here and I would recommend this resort to anyone.

This was our second trip to Sunset at the Palms. The "treehouses" create the ambiance, but it is the staff that really makes this a special place. We would be remiss if we didn't mention some of them that went above and beyond with their hospitality. Marlando, our concierge, took care of any arrangements we needed to make for excursions, dinners, rides, etc. We loved joking around with Clevon and Sean in the water sports department. Stacey was pleasure to see every morning in the coffee bar. She always knew to get a Jiggy Coffee and Diet Pepsi ready for us. Out at the beach bar, Kerry (and Akay) would get our drinks and add a lot of fun conversation. Last, but not least, Lynette from security was fun to be around and would always make us laugh. There is a special dinner for returning guests, which is hosted by the Hotel Manager, Sharon. She runs a tight ship, but is a very warm person. She was assisted by Kadian, a beautiful, soft-spoken woman from the front office. The grounds of the resort are impeccable.
