Fabulous fun, beautiful people and a marvelous hotel!!!

I always write too much; but I just can't help it. The hotel is wonderful. It has everything you could possibly want. Jesus Garcia is great - he takes care of business. If you have a concern, he will try to solve it immediately. The management staff (Cintia, Neri and Jose Luis) are wonderful. The Entertainment Staff is beyond description. Incredible is the word I would use..Alex stands out because he goes out of his way to please. Ramiro,Himer,Havy,Jesus and Alejandro are fabulous. Every day they join in all the activities to make the days special for you. The bar staff is always friendly, no matter how busy they are. The drinks are always very tasty. The Explorer's Club takes care of your little ones. Ursula,Marie and Carina will have balloon fights in the pool, build sand castles, have camp outs and the kids love them. With all the different restaurants, within the hotel, you can always find something delicious to eat. The wait staff are absolutely unbelievable!!! They are friendly, quick and very professional at their job. The hotel has excellent security. Adan is on the job. The lifeguard (Gabriel) is on the alert whether it's the pool or ocean. The Beach Concierge is Fernando. He really keeps his eye on what's happening. The Sun Club is a great new addition for personal, friendly service. It's a nice get-away for relaxing. You can have a drink, watch TV or have a snack. It's a lovely place to go!!! First thing in the morning visit the Coco Cafe. You have the selection of many different coffees, sweet buns and fruit. The big smiles come courtesy of Karina and Dina. We have been enjoying the Sunscape Dorado Pacifico for many years and will definitely continue to do so. In fact, instead of once a year, we now stay twice a year and love every minute of every day. We feel like we are coming home every time that we arrive. More>

Traveled April 9th-20th with friends first time to Ixtapa Zihuatenejo and Sunscape properties enjoyed every minute from arrival staff where friendly and helpful. We were on the 17th floor room was nice and view was wonderful we left room by 9 or earlier and every day but 1 room was always cleaned by 11 not like some places it can take all day. Food enjoyed it all especially the potato salad wow it was awesome :-). Beach was nice sand was very hot though and the water well was to rough for me to go in although my group did almost every day pool was nice and warm. Grounds nice and clean one of the best part's was our beach bar waiter Antonio he was very polite friendly and fast boy he could look after half the pool area and not miss a beat also very helpful was Mark very accommodating and helpful with any questions we had. The area around the hotel is nice a lot of shopping and restaurant's across the street from hotel very safe clean area to walk day or night. Would we go back you bet I think I have found my second home the area of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is smaller and not so commercial and traditional which I loved looking forward to the next time we go :-) More>

LOVELY PLACE TO VISIT, EXCEPTIONAL HOTEL

We stayed at the Sunscape Dorado Pacifico from April 6th through 20th/16. Prior to booking we reviewed hundreds of locations and hotels in Mexico on TripAdvisor. This trip would be our 11th time to Mexico. We enjoy the All Inclusive hotels and many of them have their own attributes that make them enjoyable. We booked the Sunscape Dorado Pacifico for a few reasons such as the 24 hour coffee/snack bar, no wrist bands, unlimited a la carte restaurants, beach front. Our main focus for a vacation is a comfortable room, good service, variety of food, nice beach, smaller resort (do not care for crowded 1000 room resorts) and an abundance of activities off the resort within walking distance. The Sunscape Dorado Pacifico offered and delivered all of this and more. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with smiles and helpful staff. We decided upon our arrival that we would upgrade to the SunClub. It was $24.00 USD per night per room (not per guest) and it was well worth it. We were led the Sunclub lounge for an express check-in. We were given room 2117 on the top floor. It had a king size bed with a new mattress that was on the firm side but not hard. The view of the ocean was spectacular! The room was very clean, stocked minibar, clean bathroom and plenty of towels. I had no complaints about the cleaning staff the entire 2 week stay. If you require something extra, just ask. My husband loves the orange Fanta pop that is supplied in the mini fridge (1 bottle per day). We asked them if we could have 4. From that day on, we always had 4 stocked in our fridge on a daily basis. My sister and her husband were also travelling with us and they did not opt for the SunClub. They were not disappointed with the hotel. They had a nice room on the 18th floor with a partial ocean view and were treated very well by the staff (they booked the "room deal of the day"). The food in the buffet was good. We ate 14 breakfasts and never really got bored of the food. The omelet station was fantastic and will make your eggs any style you choose. The crepe, pancake, waffle station was made to order as well. Besides the two stations, there was plenty of food options in the hot tables to enjoy. Fresh fruits, yogurts and juices too. Seating was indoors or on the patio. Blue Water Grill was open for breakfast (smaller version of the buffet), lunch and supper. The steaks were tender and flavorful and the fish was perfectly cooked. Italian restaurant was very nice. Food was above average (steak was a little tough) but the chicken was very good. Mexican Restaurant was good as well. They all offer a different menu of food items. We tried most of them between all of us in our party and some items were just ok and some were very good. Barefoot grill by the beach/pool area was great for a quick snack during the day. Hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, taco's, popcorn and sodas were readily available. The COCO Café was exceptional. Coffee, Latte, Espresso, cappuccino, pastries and mini sandwiches were available 24 hrs a day. Just a side note, they do not have splenda so bring a supply of your own. They do however, have stevia (I found it a bit on the sweet side). The coffee cups are paper cups and on the small side. We brought reusable starbucks plastic cups with lids (available for 2.00 at starbucks) with us and they were well used during our trip. Across the street from the resort are plenty of Pharmacies, shops, restaurants, bars. All very reasonably priced. There is even a casino which we visited 2 times. Very nice and clean and safe to walk around town at night. We went swimming with the dolphins and was an incredible experience. (100.00 USD). Hubby went zip lining (60.00 USD) and we went to Ixtapa Island twice which is a MUST SEE when you are there. We had one of the best vacations every at this resort and I would recommend it to any of my friends or family. I feel I need to give a special thank you to Ricardo and Elizabeth in the SunClub. They both are so accommodating. We were in the Sunclub lounge for a drink and a snack one afternoon and Ricardo asked us if there was anything he could do to make our stay more enjoyable. My husband let him know that our stay was incredible so far and we had no concerns. However, he did ask if there was anyway for us to have some flowers in the room as it would brighten things up. Ricardo indicated he would see what he could do. That evening there was a beautiful vase filled with 6 Bird of Paradise and greenery waiting for us to take to our room. In our eyes, Ricardo went above and beyond to fill this request and we were very grateful. Elizabeth was always there to greet us with a smile and was very knowledgeable answering any questions or concern that we had. They are truly an asset to this establishment. All the cleaning staff, bar staff, entertainment staff, food servers, spa, Sunclub etc were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to visit soon. More>

Super Vacation! Just Do It!

Stayed Apr. 24th through May 2nd, 2016 First some context: - 9th trip to Mexico; 1st time to Ixtapa/Zhihuatenejo - 6 couples: age range 20 to 54yrs (Eg. Previous Areas: Mayan Riviera, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta; Huatulco. Eg.Previous Properties: Bahia Principe Tulum, Grand Palladium White Sands, Dreams Huatulco etc. - Have also been to Sunscape the Beach in Punta Cana DR) How does Sunscape Dorado Pacifico compare? We all loved it! Would go back in a heartbeat! Smaller property with outstanding customer service which sets it apart. Odel at the front desk; every request accomodated! Freddie at the concierge desk... incredibly friendly! He'll jump through hoops to make your stay perfect (BTW...Mr. Doug say's hi); Simon at the pool bar (Thanks for taking care of Jackson, Tanner, Alysha and Emma - those 4 kept you busy but you more than had it handled!) Victor at the Lobby Bar and Raymondo at the Beach Bar Thanks for looking after me. :) Our special waiters Martin and Allan; we appreciated you putting up with our "less than stellar" attempts at Spanish and coaching us along. Your service was impeccable. Entertainment staff? Great job! Loved the beach volleyball, pool games, tennis and Guacamole making contest even though I didn't win. :( The Food: Very good for an All-inclusive. We always found enough variety. Italian Specialty Restaurant Yummy. None of us experienced any tummy troubles and we ate and drank everything. Rooms: clean and fresh with good air-conditioning (1707/1708/1709) and partial ocean views. Beautiful for our morning cup of Java on the balcony. Location: Great beach with no rocks or coral; Waves can be high (mostly red flags while we were there) but we liked the body surfing. (People with little kids just stayed closer to shore) - Easy access to Zhihuantenejo and La Ropa Beach or Playa Linda by cab or Micro (little bus) and ferry to Ixtapa Island for snorkeling. Clientele: Wonderful gracious Mexican People, Canadians and some Americans. Didn't meet anyone from the UK while we were there. Parting words; Go have a fabulous relaxing time and don't sweat the small stuff. After all...you're on vacation in a sunny warm beautiful part of the world! :) Thank you Sunscape Dorado Pacifico staff for making our stay fantastic! Donna (and the gang) from Vancouver Canada More>
