We had a recurring ant problem. The ants entered our room via a small hole under the sliding glass door. Maintenance came and sprayed, but the ants continued to return. And, I was disappointed that there was no nighttime entertainment (e.g., dancing). We were told that it is only done during the high season. The resort was nearly full and filled with millennials and everyone sat around the bar drinking. We could have danced the night away instead of sitting and drinking. Had it not been for the ants and lack of nighttime entertainment, I would have given it an excellent.

Not your typical Marriott

Although the staff was quite nice and helpful and the hotel is adequate, you will not find the typical Marriott quality at this hotel. We had lots of plumbing and water issues. The staff tried to assist as they were able, but there were in going issues throughout our stay.

I was supposed to get $200.00 resort credit, I had it on my documents. I was advised that I didn't qualify as my package was based on 4 nights with 3 free nights. When I asked about it at check-in they said it would be deducted at my bill when I checked out. My wife, a travel agent booked this trip. She will not tell her clients about resort credit, as it is not honored.

Arrival at St Kitts Airport

We were advised that transportation would be provided by Apple Vacations from airport to Marriot Hotel...we were advised more than once. There was no one from Apple Tours at the airport. Took cab and paid $16.00, after waiting 40 min.for Rep from Apple. Island Tours apparently represents Apple..there was no sign letting us know that. After we registered at the Hotel we booked a trip to Nevis, the Rep for Island Tours gave us a $16.00 credit for the cab fare. Very poor communication regarding pick up at airport. You cannot correct a problem if you do not know it exists. That is the reason for my complaint.

Hotel is "tired" for a Marriott. Rating should be a 4 apple at best.

Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. We had the all inclusive plan added on and every employee was well-informed of what that entailed and explained to us what was covered and what wasn't so we wouldn't have any surprise charges. The hotel the perfect place to spend our honeymoon, right on the beach, lots of food and drinks and lots to do.

The staff at the resort, while moving at their own pace, were very friendly and wanting to please. It is not a resort for people who want instant service. Various aspects of the resort buildings showed, overall, poor maintenance. The pool was not a good one for swimmers. The beach might have been all right but seaweed was coming in at such a rate the staff could not keep it clean. There was very little entertainment in the evenings other than the casino. We have been on many other Apple tours which provided better resorts for less money.

Marriott St. Kitts family trip

We just left the St Kitts Marriott resort. It was a family vacation with our 3 teenage daughters. We had adjoining ocean view rooms. Looked like the furnishings had been updated. The open air lobby was in good shape and all of the staff we encountered were friendly. The pool area was large but in need of a major updating. There was a huge pirate ship at the entrance to the pool area but it was on cement. Looked like it used to be in water but not anymore. The pool was very dirty each day and the awning over the pool bar was missing. The public pool restrooms were awful. Dirty and old. The swim up pool bar was nice and there were 3 casual restaurants to eat lunch. The beach was very expansive and there were plenty of huts so you could lay in the shade. The biggest disappointment was the Atlantic Ocean. It was extremely rough, rocky and lined with seaweed. The resort staff tried to clean it up each day but it was basically unusable. We went to the carribbean to enjoy the ocean but we’re unable to do so at this resort. There are carribbean beaches nearby and they offer a free shuttle but it was kind of a pain to have to leave your beachfront resort just to enjoy the ocean. Not to mention when you go to the other beaches you have to pay a rental fee for the chairs and umbrellas. There were many great restaurants located close by, within walking distance or a short cab ride. There were always plenty of cabs outside the entrance and all of the cab drivers we had were friendly and helpful. We ate at Marshall’s, Rock Lobster, Rituals, Carambola and Cathy’s. We enjoyed our meals each night ( some were a little pricey). Ciao Italian restaurant had no atmosphere and was overpriced for average food. We also took an ATV tour through the botanical garden and rain forest set up by the tour desk in the Marriott. It was amazing and so much fun. Our guide Ivan was super. Overall we had a very fun family trip with the exception of the hotel being located on the Atlantic Ocean. If you’re looking for a carribbean ocean experience, stay somewhere else in St. Kitts.

Not the Marriott we were expecting.

We stayed here last week and while the lobby looks beautiful and the front desk staff was excellent the rest of the hotel is a major disappointment. There is a huge half a ship that looks like it used to be surrounded by water but now it’s just an empty pit. It’s very odd. We had an ocean view room that was well decorated but had a dirty floor (crumbs, etc.) and other people’s hair stuck all over the shower walls and sink. Our outer sheet had a stain on it and every single day housekeeping left us 1 single fresh bath towel. Not hand towels, foot towels....just 1. That’s it. Just 1 towel (and they took our mound of dirty ones so they knew there was more than 1 person in he room) so everyday we had to call the front desk to ask for towels and wait for them to be delivered. On the last night there were 2 roaches in the bathroom. The pool area is bad. Most of the lounge chairs are broken, the pool was dirty and the bar area has no awnings just the metal framing. We waited 2 hrs for pool towels. They didn’t have any clean ones.... from the looks of them most of them were laying on abandoned the lounge chairs dirty. There was nobody on staff on the pool deck at all to take drink orders or clean up trash and dirty towels. It was a ghost town. There was trash all over the grounds. We even saw staff walk past it. The bellmen however were fantastic and such a wonderful group to welcome you! Outside of a visit to the spa which was great we didn’t spend any time at the hotel really. Nothing to do and the pool area and beach were uninviting. I’m surprised this is up to Marriott standards. We were very disappointed and will definitely stay someplace else next time we are on St. Kitts which is a shame since my husband travels extensively and is a loyal Marriott customer.

Dated hotel with no personality

Stayed here on vacation with my family. We stayed in an ocean view suite. The room was large but looked like a stripped down version of the room in the website photos. That's kind of how the whole hotel looks, really. It feels unfinished. The room feels like there's some furniture missing. It's odd. The bathroom needed updating. Particularly the shower door, which was a daily source of frustration as it was so poorly designed/maintained it was almost impossible to open or close. The hotel grounds have the same sparse quality. Huge open concrete spaces, etc. I don't know how else to describe it. It's clean but lacks a personality. We spent very little time at the hotel. The restaurants are on par with pretty much every restaurant we visited on the island. Be aware, it's expensive to eat on the island (for what you get) and the hotel restaurants are no exception. Service around the hotel was generally excellent. We didn't spend much time at the hotel though, as there was very little to do there. All the Atlantic facing beaches were inundated with seaweed during our trip. It made the hotel beach basically unusable. We stuck to the Caribbean beaches. It sounds like this seaweed plague is hitting many of the islands and is particularly bad this year. This hotel has so much potential but feels like a missed opportunity right now.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the St Kitts Marriott. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They seemed genuinely interested in making sure you had a good time. The resort is older but still in good shape. The restaurants on site were good but a little pricey. There are many things to do on the island and the tour desk was very helpful in setting them up. The one negative about the resort is the seaweed on the beach. Very often there is a funk in the air and the beach is basically unusable. They do offer free shuttles to local beaches but it is a shame that you have to leave to use the beach. There is nothing the resort can do about the issue other then remove the seaweed, which they do. We loved St. Kitts and will come back in a few years.

Our family vacation at the Marriott was made so much more special thanks to Khalid Ras, an activities director. In no time at all, Khalid felt like a new friends. Always with a welcoming smile, he taught us about island traditions, made great recommendations and provided fun games! Thanks Khalid!
