I booked the trip in August, so that should have been ample time to book flight and hotel room type. My wife and I sat separately on long flights and hotel room had 2 small double beds...not great for couple splurging on vacation. The hotel was full and no option for queen or king bed was available.

We had a recurring ant problem. The ants entered our room via a small hole under the sliding glass door. Maintenance came and sprayed, but the ants continued to return. And, I was disappointed that there was no nighttime entertainment (e.g., dancing). We were told that it is only done during the high season. The resort was nearly full and filled with millennials and everyone sat around the bar drinking. We could have danced the night away instead of sitting and drinking. Had it not been for the ants and lack of nighttime entertainment, I would have given it an excellent.

Although the staff was quite nice and helpful and the hotel is adequate, you will not find the typical Marriott quality at this hotel. We had lots of plumbing and water issues. The staff tried to assist as they were able, but there were in going issues throughout our stay.

I was supposed to get $200.00 resort credit, I had it on my documents. I was advised that I didn't qualify as my package was based on 4 nights with 3 free nights. When I asked about it at check-in they said it would be deducted at my bill when I checked out. My wife, a travel agent booked this trip. She will not tell her clients about resort credit, as it is not honored.

Arrival at St Kitts Airport

We were advised that transportation would be provided by Apple Vacations from airport to Marriot Hotel...we were advised more than once. There was no one from Apple Tours at the airport. Took cab and paid $16.00, after waiting 40 min.for Rep from Apple. Island Tours apparently represents Apple..there was no sign letting us know that. After we registered at the Hotel we booked a trip to Nevis, the Rep for Island Tours gave us a $16.00 credit for the cab fare. Very poor communication regarding pick up at airport. You cannot correct a problem if you do not know it exists. That is the reason for my complaint.

Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. We had the all inclusive plan added on and every employee was well-informed of what that entailed and explained to us what was covered and what wasn't so we wouldn't have any surprise charges. The hotel the perfect place to spend our honeymoon, right on the beach, lots of food and drinks and lots to do.

The staff at the resort, while moving at their own pace, were very friendly and wanting to please. It is not a resort for people who want instant service. Various aspects of the resort buildings showed, overall, poor maintenance. The pool was not a good one for swimmers. The beach might have been all right but seaweed was coming in at such a rate the staff could not keep it clean. There was very little entertainment in the evenings other than the casino. We have been on many other Apple tours which provided better resorts for less money.

Typical Marriott beach resort

We spent a week this January in the Royal Ocean Suite. It was actually more room than we needed for two people but loved have the space to spread out. The staff kept the room spotless every day and did a fine job of stocking the coffee. We were on the 5th floor so we had a great balcony to look at the ocean and plenty of seating. The pool, spa, and resort staff were always very friendly and had not issues during our time. The beach is not a great swimming beach as the resort is on the Atlantic side so it's pretty rough and windy. The workout room could get busy in the mornings so you had to time it properly. If you want drinks before dinner, the best place to get them is in the Casino at the Sky Ultra Lounge as they had half price drinks during Happy Hour. Also, if you want to play tennis, the courts are not in the best shape so we didn't use them.

Huge hotel on one of the best beaches on St Kitts. As a gold member we were upgraded to one of the executive suites which was a really big room. Had some issues with the mattress which they rectified immediately by replacing it with a better mattress. After going around to all the beaches on the island I have to say that the beach was one of the nicer ones. There was a bit of seaweed but then all the beaches had that. My only gripe is that the drinks and food at the pool bar/restaurant were overpriced and the food wasn’t very good. Asked for a gluten free grilled fish and they came back with heavily battered deep fried fish. I would definitely return.

Comfortable, Lively, and Convenient home base in St. Kitt's

My husband and I spent the New Years holiday at the Marriott St. Kitts and had a wonderful experience. The Marriott has all of the comforts of an American-style hotel, with the jovial atmosphere, friendly attitudes, and relaxed approach of the Caribbean. We spent a lot of time off the property exploring St. Kitts and Nevis on our own, and the Marriott was a perfect home base for us. Here are the highlights: Location: The Marriott is within walking distance (10-15 mins) of "The Strip" and the beach at Frigate Bay. This is a popular local spot with some fun and casual beach-side restaurants. The beach on The Strip is on the Caribbean side of the island, so the waters are calmer with more of a sand bar. We were also able to walk (Hike, really) to Timothy's Peak, which has an incredible view of the southern end of St Kitts, Nevis, the Atlantic, and the Caribbean. It is a popular spot on driving tours, but we preferred to hike it ourselves. As others have mentioned, the hotel is near the airport and Downtown Basseterre, as well as being a short taxi ride to Cockleshell Beach and Christophe Harbor. Getting Around: There are always taxis available at the Marriott and you never need to call in advance or wait. This is a huge convenience! Remember to have cash, and the taxis accept USD or EC currency. There is also a Hertz rental car outlet in the hotel, which we found very convenient. You can rent a car for a 24-hour period, which we did. That way, we were able to drive ourselves to the northern part of the island to see Black Rocks, and the Brimstone Hill fort. We didn't need a car for the whole week, just that one day, so renting from the Hertz was great and easy. The Property: The hotel itself is clean, modern, and very comfortable. It was recently renovated, and there are many spots in the lobby and public areas to hang out and relax. We loved the different array of hangout spots - all very nicely appointed. The beach was great too! As anyone who took the time to look at a map before booking would know, the beach is on the Atlantic side of St Kitts, which means it will have bigger waves and winds. I feel no sympathy for the people on here complaining about the beach at Marriott ... they should have known what to expect! We loved the waves and the ocean breeze at the Marriott Beach, and had several beautiful bright sunny days there. The views of the mountains at the beach are incredible too. Plentiful cabanas and great service from the pool bar completed the experience. The pool area is very nice as well, although the pool does not seem to be heated, which was a bit of a surprise. Not that it stopped us from enjoying the swim up bar! An area of improvement for this hotel is the dining. The hotel restaurants do not appear to have been included in the renovation, so the ambiance leaves something to be desired. The breakfast at Cafe Calypso was always very crowded, and the organizational system could use some improvement. If you are a certain level of Marriott points you can get the continental breakfast for free, or upgrade to buffet for $9 USD. We usually upgraded to the buffet for the better selection of food, and faster service. We found the staff to be warm, welcoming and helpful, and they gave us lots of local tips, including alerting us to the annual New Years Day carnival parade in Basseterre, which we LOVED. This is a lovely property that strives to exceed expectations, but remember that there is more to see and do on St Kitts and Nevis than hang out at the hotel! So don't be afraid to venture off the property and get to know these beautiful islands.

We had been planning our 30th wedding anniversary for months, and decided on St. Kitts (partially for the location and partially for the well rated Marriott). I reached out to the St. Kitts Marriott with some questions and Marcie (Bernadine) P. got back to me promptly. From then on, I peppered Marcie with questions and process clarifications about our trip. She helped us with a Points and Cash upgrade to one of their finest rooms, as well as restaurant recommendations for our anniversary night and New Year's Eve, etc. During our stay, we had issues with our car reservation which she helped us with, along with numerous little things throughout our trip. She, and many of the other staff, greeted us by name as we went through the lobby, making us feel welcome and important. Overall, Marcie's kindness, professionalism, expertise, and knowledge of the island helped make our stay wonderful. Thank you Marcie, and Thank you Marriott St. Kitts! Best, Nick PS. Only tiny suggestion for the room is that one or two hooks in each bathroom would be nice...there were no robe/clothing hooks anywhere in the room.

We stayed at The St Kitts Marriott Resort (in the hotel part) for a week at the end of November, 2018. (11/25/18 to 12/2/18) We were celebrating our friends' 30th wedding anniversary and our 28th wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved everything about this hotel! Our rooms were beautiful, clean, and overlooked the pool and the Atlantic. Please try the Bohemian Rhapsody drink at the pool and beach bars. They are FABULOUS! We would like to give a shout -out to the following people: Armond, Michael K., Joshua, Ashmo, and Damaeon. All of these wonderful people made our stay extra-special! My friend and I had massages at the spa. I had the Kittian massage, and it was by far, the very best massage I have ever had! Thanks Akima! :) We also adored the wonderful native "Kittians." They were friendly and sincerely enjoyed sharing their beautiful island and culture with us. We cannot WAIT to get back to this Marriott. It was pure paradise!
