We had a recurring ant problem. The ants entered our room via a small hole under the sliding glass door. Maintenance came and sprayed, but the ants continued to return. And, I was disappointed that there was no nighttime entertainment (e.g., dancing). We were told that it is only done during the high season. The resort was nearly full and filled with millennials and everyone sat around the bar drinking. We could have danced the night away instead of sitting and drinking. Had it not been for the ants and lack of nighttime entertainment, I would have given it an excellent.

Although the staff was quite nice and helpful and the hotel is adequate, you will not find the typical Marriott quality at this hotel. We had lots of plumbing and water issues. The staff tried to assist as they were able, but there were in going issues throughout our stay.

I was supposed to get $200.00 resort credit, I had it on my documents. I was advised that I didn't qualify as my package was based on 4 nights with 3 free nights. When I asked about it at check-in they said it would be deducted at my bill when I checked out. My wife, a travel agent booked this trip. She will not tell her clients about resort credit, as it is not honored.

We were advised that transportation would be provided by Apple Vacations from airport to Marriot Hotel...we were advised more than once. There was no one from Apple Tours at the airport. Took cab and paid $16.00, after waiting 40 min.for Rep from Apple. Island Tours apparently represents Apple..there was no sign letting us know that. After we registered at the Hotel we booked a trip to Nevis, the Rep for Island Tours gave us a $16.00 credit for the cab fare. Very poor communication regarding pick up at airport. You cannot correct a problem if you do not know it exists. That is the reason for my complaint.

Hotel is "tired" for a Marriott. Rating should be a 4 apple at best.

Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. We had the all inclusive plan added on and every employee was well-informed of what that entailed and explained to us what was covered and what wasn't so we wouldn't have any surprise charges. The hotel the perfect place to spend our honeymoon, right on the beach, lots of food and drinks and lots to do.

The staff at the resort, while moving at their own pace, were very friendly and wanting to please. It is not a resort for people who want instant service. Various aspects of the resort buildings showed, overall, poor maintenance. The pool was not a good one for swimmers. The beach might have been all right but seaweed was coming in at such a rate the staff could not keep it clean. There was very little entertainment in the evenings other than the casino. We have been on many other Apple tours which provided better resorts for less money.

I came here for a visit with my family. We came back after going to the movies around 9 pm. We were all tired and sleepy but we decided to have some pizza. We wanted to order a small individual cheese pizza. So we stood and waited in line at the pizza shack. We waited and waited for 30 minutes. Then when our turn came to order, they tell us that they don’t accept cash and we have to walk over to the front desk and pay the cash there, come back with the receipt and pick up the pizza. So we did. Except there was a really long queue at the front desk with only two receptionists who paid no attention whatsoever to us, we were tired and hungry. But we waited. Finally one of the receptionist, Kimberly I think, actually paid attention to our presence and took our order. Long story short, we paid and got the receipt around 10 pm. When we came back, we had to wait another 30 mins for the pizza to be made. So we waited. And waited. After 30 mins, when we asked, it turned out that the pizza had already been made and was kept away. Finally, at 10:30 pm, we received dinner. What we got is attached as image below. If this is what they treat us like? I’m never coming here again and definitely not recommending people this place either.

Very average better places to stay at on the island

When we booked our trip I was between staying at the beach or in the mountains/rain forest but usually Marriott's are a safe bet so we decided to split the trip in half and do two nights at each ending the trip at the Marriott. I want to say that I would like to review it as "poor" but I do not think that's very fair as I was comparing it to where we left (The Belle Mont farm) which was probably the nicest place we have stayed in the world (seriously so nice). We were on a kid free vacation and this is definitely a family friendly resort (not a fault to the Marriott whatsoever). The food was ok nothing special but I will say we ordered pizza by the pool to only find out you can just go up to your room and for an extra 4$ have more food options and just have the food delivered to you. The pools were OK but as I said earlier full of families. The jacuzzi at the pool we were at (the smaller pool) literally was a cold water jacuzzi (I did not know that even existed). The room was nice and clean however PLEASE do not pay to get a better "view" or any of that upgrade nonsense from their website because it was NOT worth whatever we paid to have ocean front because it is a tiny sliver of the ocean and there are only two small chairs and a mini table on there so you cant even sit out there for a meal. Our friends had a mountain/city view which was beautiful at night and they had a HUGE balcony however they didn't even have chairs to sit at out there! Check in took FOREVER. The staff was hardly of any help! We were having trouble trying to figure out how to return our rental car and they were of 0 help trying to assist us. The casino was a fun activity to do at the end of the day. If you want an average vacation hotel go ahead and stay here... Side note: do not go to this hotel expecting to be able to swim in the ocean (not the Marriott's fault per say) there is a TON of seaweed and the water is on the Atlantic side so it was dark and choppy. After 51 years of being away from his birthplace, I booked a vacation to St. Kitts. What an awesome time! We stayed at the Marriott in Frigate Bay. You want to talk about great service? Ask for TROY...and this young lady from room service, if anyone knows her name please let me know. She is 31, petite, dk. complexion, mom of 6. I would like to send her a tip. Needless to say, my husband said this was the best vacation ever. He saw his childhood friend, from way back then. We took in all the sites. And we even took a ferry to the sister island Nevis, where we saw the Culture Parade. St. Kitts NICE st. 🇰🇳

My husband and I went for a couples get-a-way week to reconnect. We hit the jackpot here. Attentive staff, comfortable room, great food. We snuck over to the Seafood restaurant on the resort - literally the best piece of swordfish I’ve ever eaten in my life. I had no idea swordfish could melt in your mouth!! The restaurants on site were all great - no complaints. There is a great little Indian place just off the resort. As well as a great seafood place called Rock Lobster just a short walk down the road (and well worth the walk, I might add). There is a little grocery store just outside the resort as well - it takes both Eastern Caribbean money and US dollars. The concierge can book all sorts of local tours for you - it’s worth the trip over to Nevis if nothing else to say you’ve been. The local drink is the Killer Bee - if you aren’t a “serious” drinker, have one and quit. They are blackout strong after 2 of them. :-(. Delicious, but STRONG. We used a taxi to and from the resort - you really don’t need to rent a car if your planning a lot of relaxing there. The Island is small and local taxis are plentiful.

Amazing Food and Service, Terrible Beach

This was our first trip to St. Kitts. When we arrived at the resort, we were impressed by its size and by how beautifully maintained the property is. The rooms are standard hotel rooms. We had an ocean view room in the main building. It was rather far from the water, and most of our view was the pool and some shorter hotel buildings. PROs: + They had the best food of any resort I've ever visited. The seafood restaurant had lobster dishes each night, and that was included in our all-inclusive package! There is also a steak house, an Italian restaurant, a buffet style restaurant, a cafe,a pizza shack, and a poolside restaurant. Each one had delicious food and excellent service. We did not get tired of the food as we have at other resorts. There was truly no need to leave the property for meals during our week-long stay. + The housekeeping staff was excellent. The room was kept clean all week. We never had to beg for towels. (It's not required, but always tip your housekeepers. They work really hard.) + The location was very convenient to the airport, to town, to local restaurants, to a great beach (off the resort property), and to a grocery store. + Friendly, helpful staff + Beautiful property + Attractive, large, modern casino + A Hertz rental car is located office on the hotel property. It doesn't get more convenient than that! CONs: - The beach was terrible. The surf was rough. The water is not clear and turquoise. It is murky and smells awful because of the seaweed. It is also rocky. In the brutal heat of July, not a soul was in the ocean at the resort. That says a lot about how bad the beach is for swimming. There was a good beach (Cockleshell Beach) about a 10-minute ride from the hotel. Even that wasn't turquoise due to the darker, volcanic sands of the island. It was emerald green, calm, and clear. You won't find a Corona commercial kind of beach on St. Kitts. - The pool is large and has a swim-up bar, but it isn't very deep. Most of the pool is about 3 feet deep. At no place was the pool deeper than 4 feet, as far as I could tell. - There wasn't much nightlife at the resort other than the bar and casino. One night they had karaoke by the pool with one of the worst sound systems I've ever heard. - Many of the shops on the property only take credit cards, so you'll pay a currency exchange fee on merchandise that is already marked up in price. Overall, we had a good time. The staff could not have been nicer, and as I said, the food was truly scrumptious. One of my favorite snack was the Bohemia seafood platter (conch fritters and coconut shrimp) at the poolside restaurant, Bohemia. Out of this world! The island has a good infrastrucure--roads were in good shape, were well lit at night, and had clear signage. It is lush and mountainous (due to its volcanic origins). There are rotaries/traffic circles everywhere you go, so I highly recommend taking a taxi from the airport to the resort. We picked up one right in front of the airport and paid about $20 for two people. There is a Hertz car rental office on the property of the hotel, which is super convenient. Just be sure to reserve one in advance. When you do so, specify the Frigate Bay location, NOT Basseterre, which is in the city. Have a great trip!
