Tucked away on a secluded 100-acre peninsula on the southeastern coast of Antigua, the St. James's Club Resort & Villas exudes a casual, club-like ambiance. This all-inclusive hideaway caters to couples, families, and singles with its plethora of amenities and activities. The family-friendly resort has a long-standing reputation for exceptional, caring service. Here, guests can retreat from the world or enjoy a wide array of island- and water-based diversions.

St. James's guests have several choices when it's time to refuel. The Docksider is known as much for its panoramic water views and charming nautical dιcor as its Caribbean-inspired dishes. Thursday evenings feature steel-pan performers who turn up the heat with Caribbean Calypso music. Those who wish to dine in a more tranquil setting may do so at the resort's signature fine-dining restaurant, Piccolo Mondo. For casual dining, the informal Coco Beach Restaurant & Bar offers sea views and a selection of salads, soups, burgers, and pastas.

St. James's Club Resort & Villas has four lounges and bars. The Reef Deck bar beckons adjacent to the main pool. The two beach bars (Mamora Bay Bar and Coco Beach Bar) feature the resort's signature rum punch. A beach cart with soda, beer, rum, and fruit punch also provides refreshments to sun worshippers. The Jacaranda Lounge features nightly entertainment.

Two white-sand beaches offer a host of fun-filled activities. Coco Beach is like an aquarium for snorkelers, while the calm waters of Mamora Bay are ideal for swimming. St. James's Club provides complimentary non-motorized watersports such as kayaking, pedal boating, and catamaran sailing. Tucked into a quiet corner of the The Club area is the Tennis Center, with four hard courts and two artificial turf courts. Four courts are lit for night play.

Guests can also sunbathe, take a dip in six distinctive swimming pools, and succumb to the pleasures of a spa and salon. Spa Tranquility is an expansive and elegantly appointed hideaway for pampering and restorative treatments for the body and skin (fee). The seaside gym has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the ocean, providing an inspiring setting for workouts.

Young guests getting restless? The St. James's Club Kidz Club is situated in the heart of the resort overlooking Coco's Beach.

Originally due to stay at Verandah but changed to St James Club. Lovely setting. Only just opened because of the Sargassum Seaweed problem. It was quiet on the resort as it has just opened and they are working hard, painting everything on site, pruning the coconut trees etc., and the staff are a credit to the management. Every one of the staff we came across in all areas were very pleasant. Very little seaweed on Coco beach and nothing on Mamora. Food on the beach a bit limited but Fish was wonderful. Restaurants were all good. Pizzas at 11/11 the BEST.

After being switched from this hotel to the Verandah and then back all within a few months we were very happy with this hotel. They upgraded us to a 2 bedroom villa right off of of the beach on the bay side. It was absolutely perfect and more room then we needed. This hotel just reopened a few days before we got there due to the seaweed issue. We stayed from Sept. 29, 2018 - Oct. 6, 2018. This was our 6 yr old sons first beach vacation and he loved it. We did not go to the ocean side as the water seemed a little rough and there was still some lingering seaweed around. We spent most of the time on the bay side. The waters on the bay are calm and the water turned clearer each day. The staff at the water sports area were super helpful and friendly. The pools were on the small side. My wife and I had a vowel renewal ceremony to celebrate our 9th Wedding Anniversary and the staff and location were excellent. The staff throughout the hotel were hands done the best staff I have had the pleasure to be around. I can not say enough good things about all of them. Since the hotel was not crowded the dining options were somewhat limited. The only complaint I would have for this hotel was the food was just ok (except for Piccolo Mondo, which you have to pay extra for).If the food was a little better I would have given it 5 stars. The only option for breakfast was the newly renovated Rainbow Room. After the second day we were not looking forward to eating there. Almost everything tasted like cinnamon and I could not eat the eggs from the buffet as they were super watery and runny so I had to have them prepared from the grill if I wanted them. The ride from the airport was about 30 minutes and costs $31 one way for up to 4 people by taxi. St. Johns was about 30 minutes away as well and costs $50 round trip for up to 4 people by taxi. This is the place to go if you are looking to get away from the resort. Although it is a little hectic if there is a ship in the prices for gifts and alcohol are much better there. Shirley Heights was about a 10-15 minute ride and is a most to do when staying in Antigua. I believe it costs us $24 for 3 people round trip by taxi.

Wonderful!!

We recently stayed at the St James from Thursday 27th September - 7th October 2018. The resort had been closed due to the Sargassum seaweed which has been blighting one of the beaches and the Management decided to take the opportunity to do some upgrading of the facilities at this time. They used Docksider Restaurant for all meals and also CoCos and 11-11. Rainbow was being refurbished but this reopened on Sunday 30th and looked lovely. A coffee and cake bar has also been added out at the front of reception and an ice cream bar both of which look gorgeous (my husband says the coffee is fabulous). We didn’t bother going to the beach where the seaweed had been a problem as our favourite is Mamora Bay. The water sports are great here and apart from the hobby cats, wind surfing and kayaks they now have what looks like wind surf boards without a sail but with pedals and a handle so it it is kind of like a bike on the water! As always though the staff are the biggest asset - Roan, Jo-Ann and Andra in the Jacaranda bar are wonderful and Bobby who seems to be working in which ever bar we go in (has he been cloned and there is really 5 of him??!!!) The water sports guys are great and Alfred who drives up and down the beach delivering drinks is a joy and made us laugh every day. Martine the events guy was brilliant! All in all we had a fabulous time and look forward to returning - hats off to Rob Barrett and his team, you are doing a wonderful job!!

Ten out of ten for reopening...

St James's Club was closed for three months while Mamora Bay was swamped by Sargassum seaweed. It reopened just over a week ago after a day by day fight to remove the seaweed. This was a vicious act of nature and I must take my hat off to the owner and the management on their efforts to get the resort up and running again. Mother Nature takes no account of flight and hotel bookings but St. James's have done their very best to make good. They have taken advantage of the closure and have done a lot of other upgrade work. A gold star to Rob Barrett and his team.

We have just got back from another holiday at the st james the best ever. We did start off at pineapple Beach but wasnt anygood for us as have arthritis and theres alot of steps so we moved over to St james when it opened and we were upgraded to a Royal Suit which we really loved staying in so comfortable and a lovely view from our balcony. We would like to thank Rob Barratt for that. Also Mr Brown for being so kind to us and recognizing us as returning guests. We enjoyed the adult pool in the royal suit and Rushell was lovely always suppling us with lovely cocktails and the porters on the buggies were so friendly and helful. We would defernatly go back again and would recommend this wonderful place with lovely resturants pools and beaches 😊😊😊😊😊
