Tucked away on a secluded 100-acre peninsula on the southeastern coast of Antigua, the St. James's Club Resort & Villas exudes a casual, club-like ambiance. This all-inclusive hideaway caters to couples, families, and singles with its plethora of amenities and activities. The family-friendly resort has a long-standing reputation for exceptional, caring service. Here, guests can retreat from the world or enjoy a wide array of island- and water-based diversions.

St. James's guests have several choices when it's time to refuel. The Docksider is known as much for its panoramic water views and charming nautical décor as its Caribbean-inspired dishes. Thursday evenings feature steel-pan performers who turn up the heat with Caribbean Calypso music. Those who wish to dine in a more tranquil setting may do so at the resort's signature fine-dining restaurant, Piccolo Mondo. For casual dining, the informal Coco Beach Restaurant & Bar offers sea views and a selection of salads, soups, burgers, and pastas.

St. James's Club Resort & Villas has four lounges and bars. The Reef Deck bar beckons adjacent to the main pool. The two beach bars (Mamora Bay Bar and Coco Beach Bar) feature the resort's signature rum punch. A beach cart with soda, beer, rum, and fruit punch also provides refreshments to sun worshippers. The Jacaranda Lounge features nightly entertainment.

Two white-sand beaches offer a host of fun-filled activities. Coco Beach is like an aquarium for snorkelers, while the calm waters of Mamora Bay are ideal for swimming. St. James's Club provides complimentary non-motorized watersports such as kayaking, pedal boating, and catamaran sailing. Tucked into a quiet corner of the The Club area is the Tennis Center, with four hard courts and two artificial turf courts. Four courts are lit for night play.

Guests can also sunbathe, take a dip in six distinctive swimming pools, and succumb to the pleasures of a spa and salon. Spa Tranquility is an expansive and elegantly appointed hideaway for pampering and restorative treatments for the body and skin (fee). The seaside gym has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the ocean, providing an inspiring setting for workouts.

Young guests getting restless? The St. James's Club Kidz Club is situated in the heart of the resort overlooking Coco's Beach.

St James club honeymoon
RUSSELL M.
Nov 29 2011
The hotel facilities were average. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. The beaches were clean and quiet. Plenty of palm trees on the beach if we wanted shade. Also the drink cart that came around serving beer, wine, water and soda was an added plus. For the adventurous: there is excellent snorkling about 200 yards off of the beach. We snorkled out three days and saw everything from Barracuda, to Lobster, Hawksbill turtle, octopus, gruper, and all sorts of brillantly colored fish. Antigua is definately a choice spot to vacation. St James club is great!

Phone in room did not work the whole time we were there. The staff should have offered to move us. The room was not cleaned one day because when we got back to the room at five o'clock to get ready for dinner reservations the room was not cleaned yet and we settled for just clean towels. Pools looked cloudy. Not enough service at the beach. We rented a car and left the facility on two days to find nice beaches, which we did. We will definitely go back to Antigua, but would not stay at the St.James' Club or book through Apple.

Our extended family has been going to St. James Club for the last decade and every year we enjoy our vacation! The food is always spectacular and the staff members are amazing. When we decided to get married, we knew that we wanted to say our vows on Mamora Bay Beach at St. James Club. Paula is an excellent wedding planner—she is very caring and she is passionate about her work. Our wedding day was so beautiful and magnificent thanks to Paula. Paula is very resourceful and has great working relationships with many of the local vendors. Paula helped us find the perfect team for photography, videography, music, styling and florals. Paula even helped to outfit the groom and make sure his suit was altered in time for the big day! She went above and beyond to source decorations for our wedding day. We were blown away when we walked into the wedding reception and saw the setup Paula and her team had organized. The meal at Piccolo Mondo was so amazing that one of our guests even asked for seconds! We would also like to thank Paula for helping to arrange the memorable charter catamaran trip for our friends and family. We cannot express how grateful we were to Paula for being such a positive and uplifting presence as we prepared for our big day. Thank you Paula for being so accommodating and calming as we finalized our wedding plans. You provided us with everything we asked for and more! We will always remember your insistence that the grey skies would clear and the sun would shine for our ceremony! You were right! With love and appreciation, Maddy and Nick

An upgrade to the Royal Suites will assure you of larger accommodations, a private pool and bar service - no kids and, more importantly, no Atlantic 'breezes' (Imagine a hair-dryer on full blast - warm but mighty!) Rooms in the block nearest the dock suffer from noise as staff set up the party and dive boats. Buffet meals were ok - (not my preference) - although a la carte options were worth booking in advance in terms of quality/selection and service. Breakfasts were outstanding - and plentiful. A small joy - afternoon tea outside the Rainbow Room. The staff are what makes this place such a jewel in the Caribbean's crown - well-trained and almost universally welcoming. (Quite swift on the wine refills, too - excellent service!)

We have just returned after a 2 weeks stay at St James Club, we flew from Gatwick with BA. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a rum punch, and were checked in quickly - we were luckily upgraded to a reef suite, which was huge! - the suite had a lovely ocean view, sofa space, kitchen, and seperate bedroom, and a large bathroom. the room generally was nice, but could do with a really good deep clean. - The maids did the basics. swept the floors, and changed towels and sheets - but the room itself was a little dirty and needed a good refurb as it was on the tired looking side. Dissapointing as there wasnt a minibar service, as we have had in previous hotels in the caribbean - we brought our own water bottles and kept topping up the complimentary bottles with cold water so we had a flow of water to drink when in the room - tap water is safe to drink in the hotel, and we brought our bobble, filter bottles to be on the safe side. Food at the hotel was great - good selection in the Rainbow garden for Breakfast, and mainly kept to the salads, and wraps/panini bar at Lunchtime - the lady on the panini bar was super friendly! Afternoon tea was a lovely shade treat for us - nice piece of cake or a cookie! evenings were harder to work out, as you had to book your restaurants the morning before - was a bit strange, it would make more sense to arrange on the morning of. We tried Rainbow room steak night, and seafood night - our first evening was the best, and service was excellent - however our 2nd and 3rd evenings we booked the Rainbow rooms, service was incredibly slow for both food and drink. Docksider restaurant was lovely, buffet selection for dinner, and service was always fast for drinks. great musicians and singers in the bar area and a great view across mamora bay. We tried Cocos one evening, but wouldnt rave about it .. standard burgers, and chips etc.. Piccolos was worth the visit, with great service, and you were able to get your AI drinks from the bar. cost was 75USD for 2 of us - would have been nice for the hotel to give the AI guests perhaps a token to use for the one evening! Beaches were nice, however on our first week, cocos beach was SUPER seeweedy - the staff were working tirelessly to clear the seaweed, however it was piled up on the beach and the smell was so bad we didnt stay long. - the 2nd week however the seaweed had died down and it was more bearable to sit on the beach, however the sea was tricky to navigate through the weeds. Mamora bay is the quieter 'hot' beach, there is no breeze which makes it difficult to stay on the beach for too long due to the heat. - plenty of fun watersport activities to try out, we tried everything out over one morning! If you are looking for that clear caribbean sea - this is not the resort for you! - we were lucky enough to experience some of the beaches on the west of the island during a trip which were incredible... white fluffy sand, and clear seas - its a shame the st james resort is the Atlantic sea... Lots of small pools over the resort, all very quiet - we tended to stick to the reef pool as there was music throughout the day and it was a bit livlier. - you could come and go as you please and no one reserved sunbeds which was nice. Good selection of drinks and cocktails to choose from at the bar! - recommend the milkshakes! It was nice to not have to wear an AI band, and not have towel cards - you could swap and change your towels as many times as you wanted throughout the day. All in all, we had a nice time in Antigua - and the hotel staff were generally all helpful - sorting out trips, taxis and shuttles into st Johns for us. It was a nice hotel, and we had a lovely holiday, but I'm not sure we would return in a hurry...

Fantastic Time

Our third visit! Fantastic Time, stayed in the Royal Suite twice and last visit Beach front which was just as enjoyable. Last visit to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary ,Pearl looked after us at Piccolo Mondo which made it extra special. Chiseida and Reba, among others, remembered us from our previous stays which made us feel valued and welcome. The general manager , Antoine Brown was very professional, informative and always ready to help and easy to approach. The activities where wonderful, especially the water sports. Hotel is layed out very well to allows full enjoyment of all amenities. The "windy side" deposits seaweed on the beach which is cleaned off everyday, first thing. Food and drink,in all restaurants,is excellent. We though the supplement was well worth paying for an extra pecial evening at Piccolo. With elite we have always been more then happy and are going to Galley Bay this year are are very excited. We had to perspon due to the hurricanes last year.

This is a very nice place, good food at the many restaurants .We stayed on the bay side the Atlantic side had lots of sea weed even though they were working hard to clean up .I understand that certain years this happens .The water sports and dive shop people were great to work with .The only down side I had was the snorkeling was not good do to poor visibility.
