Sirenis is not the glitziest hotel in Punta Cana and is located a bit far from the airport (about 40 minutes drive), but the staff more than makes up for it! Everyone, from desk clerks and concierge to entertainers and managers were extremely friendly and helpful. Our family (2 adults and 3 kids, ages 13, 11, and <1) had great time at Sirenis. There is a pretty nice water park on premises, which the kids enjoyed.

This waa a most dissapointing resort compared to the last resorr ww stayed at tgecExcellence. The food was poor at best, swimming pool closed at 600pm each day and the room was the worat we have staywd at all our times in Canxun and Punta Cana. Most people at the resrt felt as we did. aAlso we were limitto onlyvtwo reservations at the better restaurants. It Wevwerecalso tricked into seeingva vacation club opportunity, we were told if we ate breakfast with a rep we would get 80dollars credit and another reservation at an upscale restaurant. We got neither. This may have been a nice place 15-20years ago but now it needs a complete make over. We strongly strongly recommend savingvyour money and staying at Excellence if you don't have kids and the Nickelodeon or Hard Rock if you do. This was overall an awful place not up to what wecarecused too when staying in the Carribean. Finally thecemployees were nice by and large but they had little to work with.

Reviews are worthless. I read 100s and still believed I would have a great vacation. 1 week of hell. Bloody diarrhea, paramedics, sick in bed for 4 days, closed water park, entertainment staff called out Americans during a show and the crowd got nasty, don't touch water or fruit, no refrigeration used in DR. Remember, the country is neighbor to Haiti. Enjoy your stay

First and foremost ...The Outstanding staff!! Karla and Lenny made us feel like we were at home, and made sure we had everything to make our stay enjoyable. When we brought the party inside, we could always count on Pasqual and Evelyn to keep a smile on our face and cold drink in our hand. and we can't forget our newly adopted son, Rolando. He made sure we always had the best seats in the house for the wonderful shows. We can't wait for our next trip to the Dominican Republic!!!!

I would encourage all people who travel their hard working money to NOT go to this resort. The food was terrible. The cleanliness of the pool was terrible. The resot actually had no running water for a day and a half. They make customers feel stupid when questions arise. If I knew how to get a porion of my money back, I would do so. There literally is ONE bar open in the lobby in the evening. ONE! There also are two others if you have a "restaurant" visit scheduled but no place to sit if you do not. The staff actually refused me a conversation with the manager. READ THE REVIEWS ON TRIP ADVISOR. The speak the truth. Take your own playing cards. That is all there is to do in the evenings. Every table and chair was filled with people playing cards because they were bored out of their minds. JUST AWFUL. Sadly, i booked through APPLE before with BARCELO RIVIERA MAYA and expected the same AMAZING experience. Go to Barcelo....stay away from this skanky joint.

We had two switch rooms because our first room was completely disgusting. The toilet didn't work at all. The room was very old and everything was gross. After complaining enough they moved us to a new room. It was one of their updated rooms but it wasn't updated. The shower had mold in it, and again the toilet or the sink didn't work. The whole resort speaks Spanish and very few people here speak English. I found it so hard to talk to people there or tell them my concerns. We knew they couldn't understand us anyways. We went on an excursion and it was awful! The first shuttle picks us up and drops everyone on the bus in the middle of a town. Of course they don't speak English so we have no clue what's going on. We were stuck there for 45 minutes before another bus picks us up. Then we get to where we are supposed to get our boat and our tour guide or doesn't speak English is arguing with the guy at the dock. It was very scary for us and our kids. Once we got on the boat the rest of the excursion was great until the ride home. We get on a bus to go back to our hotel and the driver picks up random hotel workers and drops them off places for money. All while my family including kids are on the bus. It was very inappropriate. We were over an hour and a half late because of this so we missed our reservation for dinner. Honestly the trip in a whole was horrible. I will never got back there again. I need to make sure I do a better job at researching the place we are staying because I wouldn't recommend that resort or any excursions to anyone.

Disappointing and Not as advertised

We recently stayed at Sirenis Resort. Our room needed updating.. The bathroom on the third floor leaked into our bathroom requiring two separate visits from imaintenance. The maid service was great the first day, however they neglected to provide washcloths daily. The coffee station was not restocked with milk substitute. Used glassware was never replaced. The pool was dirty and a light fixture was hanging loose in the pool. The pool was too small for the crowd.There was no adult pool and children hung around the swim up bar. The lounge chairs should have been hosed off daily, due to the bird excrement on them. The beach towels were too small to cover the dirty lounge chairs! The aquacenter was closed two days during our stay.The nightly shows are enjoyable. The buffet staff worked hard to meet our needs. We were only permitted to make reservation at 2 restaurants which was not as advertised We were asked several times to take a tour of the grounds to sell us a membership. We were not interested.We would not go back to this resort! We are very disappointed!

This resort was the worst I have ever been to. The staff was not accommodating when we presented the MANY issues we encountered during our stay, the manager proceeded to get defensive and argumentative with me. She acted as if we should have expected to lose power, have no water/toilet functionality and the overwhelming smell of smoke in our non-smoking room. Our room was dirty and consistently smelled of smoke and sweaty socks, much of the smell came from our sheets on our bed. We went to speak with the Apple Vacations representative the day after our arrival to see what our options were. He claimed he would look at other resorts and that he would come in the next afternoon instead of researching them the same day to discuss things further, but we were told to give the resort another day. We both decided that we would much rather spend the remainder of our Honeymoon at home and cut our losses than be stuck there another night so the following morning we flew home 3 nights early. We were treated poorly by the staff and were not offered any sort of refund for our stay. This was the first and last time we will ever be using Apple Vacations.

We traveled as a family myself, my husband, Daughter and mother-in-law, nice resort, very big and only the club members got driven around n golf carts. Beds were very hard and tons of little ants in our rooms if you left some pop or some of your drink in your cup overnight it was full of ants in the morning, bathroom was ok but we had issues with our toilet not always flushing and not being able to drain our bathtub. Food was good, people were good, vendors very pushy at night time. I will not be returning to this resort.

Rooms are located in several three storey buildings. Location is central to beach, pools, lobby and restaurants. Buffet has plenty of variety for adults, vegan and kids. Dining room is well staffed, clean and mostly friendly staff. A la carte restaurants are difficult to book. We had to keep checking with concierge but managed to get reservations in 3 of 5. Food was very nicely presented and tasty. Beach and pools are well maintained -- ocean is shallow enough for children to play. Great family activities held at poolside every day e.g. foam party, dance lessons, etc. Lots of excursions available. Country Express was a great experience for our 13 and 14 year olds. The rooms are clean but very tired. (H block). Housekeeping is VERY inconsistent. Replenishing water, mini-frig, towels, coffee etc. was hit and miss. Repairs were not done quickly but were done eventually. A/C worked, there was plenty of hot water and good water pressure for showers. Water for drinking is provided in bottles.

My experience at Sirenis was very enjoyable. There were many people there that made my time at Sirenis lots of fun and very welcoming like one of the members of the animation team which was Alex Tolentino he was kind, helpful, fun and made everyone around him very comfortable when you were speaking with him. I would say that he was one of the people at Sirenis that made my trip more enjoyable then i thought it would have been.

First of all, let me start out by stating that I only write reviews in very rare occasions. The purpose of my review is to war and help other tourists, and give advice on your resort decision. If after reading my review you still go there, good luck :) Let's break it down. 1) Ocean: They do clean the beach from seaweed, however the ocean is rather muddy and wavy in this area. The beach is nice 2) The pool and water-park areas: The pool is near the ocean, and it often smelled like a public washroom. With the right amount of drinks it is possible to enjoy it. They did have a pool bar, and various in-pool activities. The snack-bar by the pool requires you to wear a shirt, so there's that... The water-park is in an entirely opposite direction from the pool and the ocean. It's about a 5 minute walk from the lobby, and the lobby is another 7 minute walk from the beach. They do not have golf carts driving people, unless you're VIP (which is a whole other rubric which I'll get to) The water-park was nice and fun, although many other tourists did complain to have gotten injured there, particularly in the "bowl" ride 3) "Regular people" versus "VIP" people: The resort is split into 'regular' and 'vip' sections. VIP people get a different area of the pool, beach, and extra restaurants in which food doesn't taste like garbage :) But if you select VIP, prepare to pay up and be dragged into various "shareholder" seminars. 4) Staff: If you're bringing your daughters over the age of 12, be ready for every second male employee to be offering them sex. It is absolutely disgusting, and after a the first few such offers I started being very rude and they seemed to go away. They do not care about your age. It is completely unprofessional. The kitchen staff were very nice and worked very hard, tip them well The bartenders are also nice, and made great drinks. The housekeepers did their best, but rarely brought new towels, and never changed t=your bed - they just tidy it up, and you sleep on the same sheets all week. Plus when I checked in there was other people's hair on the sheets. Considering the rest, I did not make a big deal of it. Privacy is also an issue. They do not have "do not disturb" signs on any of the doors. So whether you're on the toilet or butt-naked a housekeeper feels perfectly fine walking in and doing her job...No privacy. 4) Food: Some food was really great. The pasta was good, all the veggies, salads and fruits and fruit juices. However the eggs in the morning ALWAYS had egg shells in them. The meat tasted like car tired, no lie. I pretty much went vegan for the week... The "A la Cart" restaurants were very good however, so try to get as many of those as you can. They also have "tex-mex" mights and the guacamole was absolutely perfect! 5) The lobby/management treatment: They do not like people who complain about anything, even though the tourists pay a lot of money to be there, and are trying to help improve their current situation. They shut you up by convincing you that everything is fine. No thanks. I have been to other 5 star resorts in Punta Cana, and NEVER have I been so disrespected and humiliated as in this resort. I also broke a tiny bottle of Mama Juana in the gift shop and they made me pay for it. Apparently accidents do not happen in sirenis. Cheap bastards. 6) Entertainment and animation : These guys deserve FIVE stars!! They worked their butts off. They are great dancers, and they were the light in the dark tunnel who made the stay bearable. If you can - tip them. They engaged the public very well, and their energy was incredible. I sincerely hope they look for jobs at other resorts where they will be appreciated much more. 7) Rooms: The "non-renovated" rooms are crap. Ants, bugs, one person found a dead rat in the closet. The balcony door was so hard to open that a small child definitely wouldn't be able to do it. The mini-fridge made horrendous noises. And the renovated rooms had issues with hot water (people didn't have it for 2-3 days until it was fixed) or their TV's didn't work etc. Plus I paid for a renovated room and still got placed into a non-renovated room. To sum up: If you're set on going to Punta Cana - go to Bahia resorts or RIU resorts. Emotions and Breathless are apparently good too (or so I've heard). Do not go to this godforsaken place. Whoever the owner is should wake up and stop being so cheap. If they worked on their issues I'm sure it would be a great place to stay, however I just do not see them doing anything about anything. Never again. Best of luck.

We booked this vacation for our family of 5 as a Christmas gift/surprise for our 3 kids. We have never gone all inclusive with the kids (11, 13 &16) and were very excited to do so. We wanted a water park so the kids had plenty to do, big rooms or joining rooms to fit our family together and different food options. We thought we found all of this at Sirenis but we were WRONG!!!! The beach was beautiful and the bar tenders were great, once you tipped them they seemed to pay more attention to you but remembered you all week. HOWEVER if our kids was something other than water or Cola they were more than once told No, my kids loved the Chocolate Monkey drink and were told at the swim up bar they were out or couldn't make it, minutes later other kids magically had that same drink, and were less a couple dollars. Our travel agent sent an email requesting joining rooms and we did as well. We both got the same response from the hotel saying they would do their best to accommodate our request which we thought was great....we booked and paid for 2 rooms as we hoped to all be together. When we checked in our room numbers we not sequential so I asked if they would be able to switch us to a joining room anywhere in the resort and we would not require the family suites (which I will come back to) the response was "we don't have joining rooms here" Good to know before booking...or when we sent two emails requesting this. We arrived around 8pm, were given a map and told to take the second left for building "K" no one showed us to our room, we saw signage telling that building K was to the right, we took it and of course it was wrong...two building K's at the resort but no signs for the other building that we could see. We arrived to our "Family Suite" made for families of 5 or larger, who are they kidding?!?! Thankfully we booked two rooms, you cannot fit 5 comfortably in these rooms. Our rooms did not look like they had been cleaned when we got inside, we didn't have hand towels or soap in the bathroom, no pillows on the couches, no blankets for the pull out couch and one room our AC was not working and the sliding glass door would not close so could not be locked. We called down to the front desk to have someone fix this, we waited half an hour called back and asked if we could go have dinner while someone came to fix this. After dinner it was still not fixed and nobody answered the phone at reception so we walked down to the desk, they finally sent someone up to look at this. I had settled the kids all into the room with AC, took all the pillows and blankets from the other room and everyone was settling to get some sleep when we got a call and were told we had to switch rooms. It was almost midnight I asked if we could wait till morning bc my kids were going to bed and I was told "No, we are sending someone up to come help with the bags now" Our new room had a light over the table that was not connected to any light switch we had to climb up on the couch and unscrew the bulb each night to turn it off and back up in the morning if we wanted it on, make you wonder how other things were wired. Sunday morning we met with our Air Transat Rep, Hugo who was fantastic for us, we told the kids they could go to the buffet while we did this and found that breakfast ended at 10am...lunch wasn't until 1pm. We went to book our A la Cart dinners we were looking forward to JADE which we were told was only open Saturdays and Sundays and it was fully booked for that night, PERFECT! We couldn't get into the Brazilian restaurant either for any night that week as it was closed. We were offered Route 66 which is burgers and fries, awesome glad we travelled all this way to eat food we can get every 5 feet back at home and Italian was available for Friday night at 9pm. None of this information was stated on the website. The water park is about a 4 minute walk up out the front of the resort, still inside the gated area but seemed to be open to other people not just hotel guests. They had a lot of the slides closed the week we were there which was disappointing for my kids, and for us as this was one of the main reasons we booked this resort. They did have a buffet for breakfast and lunch food there. You were only able to order Beer at the water park, no fruity drinks, no slushie ones just beer water and pop. Again disappointing. This was NOT stated on the website. The buffet food was okay. However you need to be very careful about the labelling of the food. Twice they had things mislabelled that I noticed and one unfortunately I ate, it said it was spinach filled mini ravioli and it was actaully stuffed with "beef" I do not eat red meat. When ordering drinks for dinner, buffet or a la cart, your ONLY options are Beer or Wine, kids can get pop or juice but if they want juice you have to get it themselves. The entertainment staff was great for the most part, there was always stuff going on and they interacted with the kids, put on shows at the pool and played games. We made it to one of the evening shows, "The Movies" which was fantastic. My only issue with them was the day my two youngest were playing volley ball in the pool (with the entertainment staff) they announced they were having an ice cream party at the beach as well, when my kids went to get ice cream they were told they could not have it as they were not participating in that particular game at the beach...I'm pretty sure this is ALL INCLUSIVE resort and who tells kids they cannot have ice cream?! The grounds keepers did a great job with the gardens and keeping them beautiful, I wish I could say the same for the maids for the presentations in the rooms and the hallways. The floors always seemed to be over looked, our maid dropped our garbage can outside our door on Thursday and Saturday we still walked by a french fry and an Advil that fell out. There was a bag of garbage at the top of the stairs that sat there for 5 days. Anytime I had a question and went to reception to ask I was sent to the other reception desk, didn't matter which desk I went to first they always seemed to pass me off to someone else. WIFI is only free for an hour a day, it cost $40 for the week for ONE device. Bank machine didn't work on site, you had to take a taxi with your passport and credit card to get money out at the "bank" off site...that doesn't sound dangerous at all. At the end of the day we made this vacation the best we could with what we were given. We will not return to this resort nor would I recommend anyone else to travel there.
