Discover Poipu Beach's newest playground at the 391-room Sheraton Kauai Resort. A $16 million revitalization has brought new energy to the guest experience at this 20-acre retreat. A modern, refurbished entry leads to the beautifully landscaped open-air Ocean Courtyard lounge. Adorned with tiki torches and six conversation areas - three with fire pits - it's the perfect spot for cocktails under the stars.

Sheraton Kauai Resort's 391 rooms, including its 11 suites, are housed in eight buildings no higher than a mature coconut tree. Grouped together in three different locations, the room categories are identified according to their primary view: Garden Wing, Ocean Wing, and Beach Wing.

The expanded, multi-level pool sits just above the beach and is lined with eight private cabanas equipped with chaise lounges, a flat-screen TV, and ceiling fan. Lava's on Poipu Beach, the resort's new open-air restaurant and beach bar, is just steps away from the pool and ocean. Rum Fire is the island's newest hot spot, serving up nearly 180-degree ocean views from all 240 seats. The innovative Rum Fire menu features Hawaiian cuisine with global influences.

Kauai is a wonderland of outdoor activity and adventure, and Sheraton Kauai Resort serves as your base camp. Naturally, given the perfect oceanfront location, you will find unlimited beach activities right outside your door. Scuba and snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, and beach cabanas are available at the Activity Center adjacent to the Ocean Pool. The resort offers two swimming pools: a brand new oceanfront pool and a tranquil garden pool. You also have access to a fitness center and a news/internet library. Excellent shopping and numerous local attractions are within walking distance.

The supposed garden room overlooked the parking lot on on side and a construction site on the other. There wasn't a garden in sight, even the lawn was torn up. I am sending photos to your office for you to see I definitely am not exaggerating.

You just can not get a better Hotel/Resort from the check in, conceire Roxy was the best, Maid service, to the breakfast buffet, Rental car agent and the Valet { they were great}. This Hotel was on point everyday of our vacation. We loved it and will be back!! The Restaurant lacked pizzaz! Food was mediocre at best it just wasn't what you would expect from an SPG hotel!

This was one of many packages that we have booked through Apple vacations. I was a travel agent and use Apple for 23 years personally. This, by far was the worst resort that I have been too. The trip began with a delay in our flights which we totally understand. Unfortunately during the flights been delayed our luggage was lost. After two days without our luggage, and the girl at the front desk when we checked in Who just didn't care that we have been trying to get there for the past 36 hours. She informed us the room that we had rented (because we couldn't make it to the hotel the night prior because of the flight delay) was given to another couple. I explained that I had contacted via email the concierge four times and they knew that we would not be making it at night because our flight was canceled. Unfortunately she did not care and gave us a room with two double beds's. (King room was requested) after we complained the next morning they didn't move us to a much better room with a king size bed. I was not happy with the resort altogether, especially with it being a Sheraton, the rooms were small outdated, the air conditioning kept going out, the TV reception kept going out. And with no change of clothes we were pretty much stuck in a room until her like it's arrived. At 3 o'clock the day after we arrived I contacted United because we still had not received our luggage. They stated they located the luggage in Los Angeles and we would be receiving our luggage by 9 PM that night. By 4 o'clock the next day we still have not received our luggage and I again called United. The very helpful woman on the phone explained that it was delivered to the Sheraton at 9:23 the night prior. I called down to the bell desk to ask if they had our luggage the gentleman on the phone said he had no idea, but he would go look in the storage area and see if it was there. 30 minutes later a knock on the door and the Bellman was there with our two bags. I threw my hands up in the air and said yes we can finally go to the beach ha ha Ha , Thank you so much for bringing it finally! His reply was nothing he turned around and walked away, no apology for keeping our luggage for an additional 13 hours, no apology for us having to stay in our hotel and wasting yet another day on our vacation that should've started three days prior , no I'm sorry no thank you, no bringing the luggage into my room, he just turned and walked away. My Faith in the Sheraton, and Apple vacations was lost at that moment.

Eight years ago we had an excellent experience at the Sheraton Kauai so we chose them again. It is still nice--clean,comfortable beds/rooms but they have cut back on the extras. All-inclusive breakfast used to be lavish and outstanding (lots of variety,gourmet/fine dining quality), now it is more like you would find at a good travel hotel.Internet connection is poor (even w/ extra router);we needed to address an office emergency and what should have taken 10 min on-line took several hours. Staff was friendly and housekeeping was responsive to requests for more soap, towels, etc. Next time we go to Kauai we will probably try different accommodations.

Upon arrival to the hotel, I was informed I did not have a reservation by the front desk staff. The FD manager was summoned, and he was extremely rude. The FD manager did not greet me but instead responded to the FD clerk by saying, "What is the problem here?" I was then told that my reservation had been cancelled two days after booking by an Apple rep, which came as a complete surprise to me. I had received all travel documents in the mail, and the $4200 charge for the trip was on my credit card. I was informed they would provide a room for just one night. I had just travelled 14 hours by plane and was exhausted. The front desk manager was again rude and said, "We will be in touch with your travel agent in the morning, and I suggest you do the same.” I called AV as soon as they opened and was informed my reservation had not been cancelled by AV. When I went to the front desk the next morning, I was told that the package that was offered via the AV website was no longer available and should have been informed this by AV. The FD staff was again rude and said I could continue to stay at the hotel. Neither the hotel nor AV apologized to me. I was treated so poorly I will never use AV or return to this hotel.

We stayed here a couple weeks ago and it was very nice. We enjoyed our time staying here. The staff was very helpful, and the restaurants were very good. The grounds of the resort were the best part - luscious, colorful, so beautiful. The pool was not the cleanest, but it was ok. The hot tub is very hot but once you get used to it, nice. The beach is so amazing. You can snorkel right in front of the hotel. The colors of the ocean are very pretty. There is a lot to do and the concierge are helpful. There are not many good options but the once they have are delicious. The rooms are a bit dated but good all the same. We did check out the Hyatt Regency next door and it was much bigger, newer, better, and (dare I say) prettier. The food was also better. But we did really like te Sheraton and we recommend it. Kauai in general is awesome (we went to a wedding there!).

The hotel has an absolutely beautiful location with lovely grounds and lots of places to sit ,relax and enjoy the view , but if your room is in the wrong location on the property it’s going to be a different vacation. We stayed in building one ocean front. Can’t say enough good things. Spacious room. Beautiful view. Loved the rocking chairs by the fire pits to sit and watch the sunset. But building two overlooks the pool and can be very noisy and there is no privacy on your balcony. Unless you are with kids I wouldn’t stay there. Other buildings are across a road in an area with noisy construction. If you decide to book here be very specific about where you are booking.

Meh. But it’s a Sheraton, so adjust expectations lower

I’m hesitant to write this review, mostly because it seems that others have written truthful reviews and all they got from the manager was a public acknowledgement on Trip Advisor but no further contact or recourse for things that went wrong (I’ve contacted a few of the reviewers). Pro’s: location is great, beach is very nice (be careful of rocky side) as you have both sand and rocks. Great if you want to learn how to surf. I like the property layout but if you aren’t in an ocean facing room, don’t pay the 350+ per night to stay here. Restaurant staff is nice, pool staff even nicer and the place is definitely kid friendly. Sunset views from the lawn can’t be beat! Try to have drinks during pool happy hour as it’s dirt cheap and ask them for the number of a free shuttle (yes it’s free and the guy who runs it is awesome!) to take you places within a 2-3 miles radius - he comes on demand and I didn’t have to wait more than 5 mins. Obviously, this credit goes to the guy not the hotel. Cons: check-in desk staff is hit or miss - first person I got was great, second time I interacted with them, the desk could not have been ruder. I’m an Ambassador Titanium Elite and was surprised! I went to the concierge once and she was more interested in chit chatting with a couple about random stuff than acknowledging or helping all 6 of us waiting in line. The host stand at the bar at the pool can be rude - but if you give them some attitude the woman is actually nice to you (hmm, shouldn’t it be the other way?). It’s tough to tell what you get for the $30 resort fee - one bottle of water per day?? The rooms are definitely dated, but my room was clean and house keeping did a GREAT job. Valet parking is nice - the team is good. I’d give the place more stars - but my unsatisfactory experience with the front desk (rude) and Concierge doesn’t make me want to do so.

Nice and quiet

Beautiful spot. They are adding a building so there is contrition on site but I cannot hear it at all from our building. The pools are a good size, and heated. The pool by the beach is perfect, lounge chairs everywhere, cabanas for rent. There is a rental counter to get boogie cords, snorkel gear, inter tubes for kids etc. The hot tub is a decent size and hot. Lava restaurant is next to the pool but overpriced for lunch by the pool especially if you have small kids with you. We had the ocean view king room, not a suite but enough room to feel comfortable with 4 and definitely with 2. We were on the 2nd floor and I didn’t not hear anyone above below or next to us. I am super picky about hotel cleanliness and this resort did not disappoint, super clean. The staff has been friendly everywhere we’ve been around the property. Nice sidewalk along the beach to get in a morning stroll or run. 2 small fitness centers, different equipment in each. Only 4 stars bc when your at the pool and just want a cheaper option for lunch so you don’t have to drive somewhere, you don’t have options. They have spa amenities but it’s at the hotel next door. The concierge mentioned a beach front massage but discouraged it which I think is a bad idea. It may be nice for some. We did not get any spa services. We got breakfast with our room so we ate at Lava’s restaurant, reviews will be posted under the restaurant. Picture is the view from our balcony, beach is about 30 yards or less from the building. We saw dolphins swim by and a whale tail.

I haven't actually stayed here yet, we are arriving her on May 10th I checked daily on the rates and the stayed about the same pretty much day after day,, until the day I actually booked the room. The rate went from $359 to $363 to $379 to $389 all in one day... I booked it at $389 . It actually went up to $411 after that I booked the Advanced purchase plan that included breakfast . I decided to check this morning Sunday 4/7, I booked my room on Wed 4/3, and now the same room and plan is $355. I called to see if I could get that rate and I was told NO. its non refundable. I said I didn't want to cancel it.. I just wanted the lower rate. they told me I could have have it that no changes can be made, As of today they have not charged my cc yet and I was actually thinking of calling my cc co and have them dispute the charge, but due to the rules on the reservation itself, I don't know what recourse I would actually have. So My advice is, make a reservation that you don't have to pre pay anything for... one that can be cancelled a few days prior to arrival.. and then check daily to see if the rate has gone done. That way you can get the better rate,
