I will strongly recommend this hotel as a great rejuvenation destination for family, friends and acquaintances. I must say ... it was a priceless and breathtaking trip! We had the best room, upgraded to a suite with ocean view. My husband and I slept well with the sound of the tide coming on shore which was like a lullaby for us. Every night there was a variety of entertainment that we enjoyed a lot. We also enjoyed the variety of foods which was very tasty. The Sakura Japanese Restaurant Chefs showcased how to cook their food, At the Mediterrenean restaurant, there was a big surprise for my husband's milestone birthday that was very well presented with yummy food and a birthday cake, with staff singing "Happy birthday" in both English and Spanish. Needless to say, it was a real surprise with a Lobster meal specially cooked by Sous Chef Jonathan and a birthday cake was also sent out to our room, requested by Santiago Tapia, the Director of Operations. Very thoughtful of him! So far, It's the best All-inclusive vacation we ever had. More>

the hotel , beach , and grounds are very nice. The hotel seems a bit worn in places and the rooms not overly lavish but the beds and pillows are wonderful! There are small things that could be easily fixed: have enough black tea available, have hot water, coffee and milk at the coffee stations always; have the pop machine working at the beach grill, and put coffee and tea there as well. We were there during a major holiday and the hotel was completely full; there were way too many kids running around, the wait at the pool bar was way too long for the small glasses they give , and the restaurants, primarily the buffet could not handle the numbers - there were no seats, food was not replenished, no cutlery..When the local people left the real hotel emerged and it was quiet enough but not boring ( the entertainment staff is amazing), the staff at the bars and everywhere in the hotel were genuinely friendly and enjoyed our company as we did theirs. I want to go back again as soon as I can because I like the smaller hotel where I feel like everyone knows you, I love the Sheraton beds, but mostly I loved the staff because they seemed to really care! Awesome place to vacay!

The food, the drinks, the pools, the room, the view, everything was great! This is definitely one of the best beach hotels in Panama, and the all inclusive is definitely an ALL INCLUSIVE. You can even book a dinner in any of the specialty restaurants if you don't feel like eating in the buffet, which is great as well. The pool bar has a great staff, and the drinks are well made. The rooms in the top floors are the best, and it's definitely one of my favorite places to go in the beach. More>

I booked a stay in this hotel because I'm a Starwood member and I hoped that we will receive what you usually expect from the Sheraton brand. In summary, quality of food is really poor and drinks are cheap. This hotel is a low tier all-inclusive - a big quantity of food and drinks and minimum service. Only one guy in the front desk was really friendly and helpful (actually the only one that know what I was talking about Starwood member). One (and maybe only) good thing about to food is the Japanese teppanyaki themed restaurant - you should book it as soon as you arrive since they have limited sitting. Regarding the rooms, they are kind of old with poor lighting, also they don't have outlets! (I had to disconnect the lamp to charge my phone - eg, there is a coffee maker but no outlets to connect it). I guess that if you look for this kind of option (low tier all inclusive) this should be an option but I don't think that worth the price (is priced as Sheraton). Definitively I'll keep staying in Sheraton brand but not in this one. More>

Know what to expect....cheap, but you get what you pay for.

First off our trip to Panama would get 4 stars out of 5, we had a blast and stayed at the Sheraton Bijao for six nights - our entire trip. Depending on who you are this could be just what you are looking for and if you are younger and looking for a cheap all inclusive this could be just the ticket. We traveled in October which is the off season and arrived on a Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday night and Thursday were Great. I left the lights on in our rental car where arrived and the front desk even tracked us down to tell us our lights were on an hour after we arrived. Definitely saved us from a dead battery. While there are some signs of age, overall the cleanliness and decor are what I would expect from a resort in this price range. Friday is where it changed...bus loads of probably 18 year old college kids came in for Friday and Saturday and the place definitely changed. Thursday it was very quiet, the staff was fine, service was good....Friday afternoon it got crowded, the staff got frazzled and it became less enjoyable. The worst was after dinner when DJ Megaphone got on the mic. The PA system could definitely get dialed down a couple hundred decibels. It's a resort, party, have fun...but cruise ships a couple miles out at sea could probably hear DJ super amp. There were families with young kids here...during the week you might be fine, but on weekends if you like to get your kids in bed before 10:30 forget it. Okay, doesn't sound too bad so far, why the 2 star rating? You are told to be on time for dinner reservations or they will be cancelled. At no dinner we went to were more than 25% of the tables in use, yet it was very important for us to be on time or risk the feeding trough buffet. Rushing to the room to shower before dinner one night I got out of the shower to discover that when they cleaned our room they neglected to leave clean towels - or dirty towels for that matter. Dirty clothes dry off - nice. If you like coffee in your room you can enjoy it on your first morning. After that do not expect to get more coffee or coffee cups....it will not matter how many times you request more at the front desk, you will not get any more. Speaking of coffee the coffee maker in your room is intended for use with a 2 cup filter and you will have a 4 cup filter. After your first put drips everywhere but in your cup, simply remove the filter and filter holder and put them right on top of your coffee cup and you should be able to brew a cup. The buffet was not terrible. I would give it an average rating. The 3 restaurants are also not terrible. Average to below average, but definitely below expectations. There are a lot of locals here and not too many foreigners and most of the people are friendly. The beach is okay. The swimming area is very large. You can walk for a mile in each direction and they keep the beach area at the resort pretty well maintained. Do you like firm beds? If yes you will be disappointed. Our bed was way too soft and I woke with a sore back every morning. The pillows were also very flat and could have been better. I like to relax and read at a resort...by the pool, on the beach, under a shade hut, I don't care give me a good book and a good lounge chair and I am a happy man. I went through three good books and one so-so but never found a comfortable chair. The pool chairs are terrible, what the mattress lacked in firmness the chair did not, there was no give. The chairs on the beach were cheap and uncomfortable but more bearable. If you want a cheap resort that is all inclusive, you don't mind loud evenings, don't want or expect good service, want a great location on a nice beach and don't have high food expectations then this could be just right for you. If you are used to nicer resorts, then plan on a lot of day trips to enjoy beautiful Panama away from the resort especially on the weekends. More>
