The Beaches in the Area of Santa Clara and Playa Blanca are some of the most beautiful beachfront area in Panama. A very important fact here in Panama that between the months of January thru Easter Break the beaches are areas very popular by most of the local population. The secret to an amazing vacation is to make your reservations from Sunday thru Thursday. You will find the hotels busy but not impossible and you get a more personal attention, space in the beach and pool area.

We are two couples who traveled to this resort and had a great time. Based on all the reviews one can see that some people liked it some don't but that's not necessarily because it's a bad place, simply different opinions from people who have different standards. I personally am determined not too go on vacation to complain over things that I have no control of, the fact that I'm on vacation it's a reason to enjoy even if things don't always go to my liking, I try to find a positive in everything. Having said that perhaps this is the reason I never had a bad holiday. Now to my review of the Sheraton. This is a smaller resort where everything is very accessible. The layout is very nice, clean and the rooms are comfortable with great views to the pool area and ocean, of course those facing the pool area. The food was very good in basically all restaurants, the grill was my least favour that's why I didn't go back, but didn't leave there hungry, so it was ok. As for the buffet, it is true that the birds are there in abundance because the buffet is an open concept so it's natural birds roam around. While some people made a huge fuss about it, we actually found it entertaining watching these birds busy diving into plates and flying off with a whole slice of bread it was comical, but I do realize it's not a very sanitary practice.
As for the slow service, yes it was a fact but it was obvious they're under staff. I have to admit that management doesn't show professionalism when it comes to control what goes on at the resort; for instance, On the weekend there are a lot of locals coming to the resort and it gets very crowded which they take over the place in every sense of the word and when they leave any food available gets into their "doggie bag" and the place is wiped clean. This is where management should be on alert and prevent from happening.
The beach of course isn't "Cuba" beaches but it was ok and we enjoyed it. Of course the weather was amazingly hot which we enjoyed immensely especially leaving from a -30 and above, no complaints for sure. The entertainment at night especially was none existent, aside from the pianist at the lobby which he was really good, other than that nothing else, but we were ok with it. During the day there was a lot activity around the pool.
All and all, we had a great time I probably wouldn't go back because I like to visit different resorts but I would recommend this resort for anyone with an open mind who's main priority is relaxing in the sun and wiling to interact with diverse cultures and different foods and just explore...it makes your life that much more meaningful...but that's me and perhaps that is the reason I never had a bad vacation. Good luck and for those who visit the Sheraton, enjoy!

Vacation as it's supposed to be, relax! We took a suite overlooking the ocean. The room was wonderful and the concierge lounge was always very convenient. The hotel is all inclusive and the food is great and the drinks are just perfect. Except the piņa coladas which is like drinking a hot milkshake. Stick to the mixed drinks. The pools are abundant and there's lots of wading pools for toddlers. The beaches are calm and there are lifeguards on the beach for resort guests.

My husband and I travelled with 2 other couples to Sheraton Bijao in early January 2015. This is a small resort which is quiet with not much going on. I must say though that the piano player at night was just super amazing. Cynthia at the bar was nice too. The food at this resort is average, nothing special to write home about. We didn't like the birds hovering all the foods, which is absolutely unsanitary. What we loved most was the perfect weather we got, and the day trip to the Panama Canal was great to see at least once. The employees don't speak English at all, except Ricardo at the front desk and maybe a couple of others. The girl that does the excursions cannot understand a word of English, don't know how they have her there. Anyways, our Sunwing rep was pretty good at helping us out whenever we needed her. Beach was nice as was the food by the beach. We did hear of a few people getting food poisoning though, one had to go to the hospital to get cared for. I think food is left too long at the beach area, and the chicken stays out there for a while, so be careful. For the 5 hour plane ride from Toronto to Panama, it is unlikely we will ever return. I can have just as much fun in Domenican or Cuba for a much shorter ride, and my nightly shows which I so look forward to. A la Carts weren't too bad, but nothing special. At the buffet at night, a lot of times we would all order some beer, and it never arrived, on more than one occasion. We are not complainers, we just laugh as we are happy and on vacation, we could get up and get it ourselves, which we did with the wine one night. Glad we took the trip though !!!!
