A great vacation in Panama

After reading some less than stellar reviews I had concerns about the trip I had booked. My concerns were completely unfounded. The food at the buffet tasted great - we traveled in a group of 4 and always found food we enjoyed. We also had fun at the Mediterranean and Japanese restaturants. We never had to wait for a drink. In main dining area with buffet - big Kudos to Michael- server - he was amazing. Brought us our cappucinos with every meal ( we requested with our first meal) without asking. He also made sure our wine glasses and water glasses were refilled, and our dirty dishes removed. Jose at piano bar made the best cappucinos and again, we never had to wait for a glass of wine. Our room had comfortable beds and was sparkling clean everyday. All public areas, including bathrooms of hotel were spotless. The pools were also well maintained and clean - and had life guards at all areas of pool. We were in the ocean every day( except when we did excursions) for hours. Soft sand, beautiful shells. No problem to get a chair with umbrella on beach. Life guard also on beach. The hotel provided water dispensers on beach and at pool. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to others and would return again myself. We always gave tips at bar, dining room and in our room for maid. We did not see a lot of other guests leaving tips - not sure why not ( visitors should realize that all inclusive does not mean no tip needed ) - the staff work hard and appreciated that we acknowledged their hard work.

It has a great potential

I think this hotel, with a proper renovation plan, can be a great stay in the area. It is an all inclusive hotel. We had a standard room, with a spacious bathroom. It was a little bit plain and simple.

If you enjoy 3 buffet meals a day with limited choices & questionable food, then this is the place for you. If you don't mind the cheapest quality of alcohol made because it's "free", then this is the place is for you. If you don't mind waiting for 10 minutes for a drink because it's "free", then this is the place is for you. If you don't have a problem with paying for an air conditioned room and the AC being broken in a tropical country on the beach, then this is the place is for you. If you don't mind your room being 80 degrees, hot & so humid the sliding glass door is fogged up, then this is the place for you. If you like to have a sliding glass door that doesn't open to anything except the parking lot below, then this place is for you. If you love loud music and entertainment such as limbo contests and dance offs until 11pm in the open areas, then this is the place is for you. If your children (and you) can sleep through the entertainment, then this is the place for you. If you are okay with a small dorm room with no artwork or sparse furniture, then this place is for you. If you love crowds and to be surrounded by people on your holiday, then this place is for you. If you don't mind flies all around the buffet and landing on the serving trays, then this place is for you. If you don't mind carefully controlled access to their thin beach towels that are the size of a bath towel, then this place is for you. If you love having no shelves at all in the bathrooms and a light with one lightbulb, then this is the place is for you. If you enjoy staying in hotel rooms with ceiling tiles similar to those in high school, then this is the place is for you. If you are okay with exposed pvc pipes pumping water into the pool, then this is the place for you. If you are okay with the entire middle section of the dining area being closed off with yellow caution tape because of leaky ceilings, then this is the place for you. Best of luck!!!! I HIGHLY recommend the JW Marriott Panama Golf and Beach Resort a few miles away in Buenaventura. A night and day experience. Not only was it fabulous, but we paid LESS for our accommodations!

Definitely not worth the price

We arrived to several of the restaurants closed so all that is available is a buffet, which is poor quality. The hotel noise is so loud that it's impossible to sleep. The music comes up the stairwell and the walls are extremely thin so I had to put noise cancelling head phones on to sleep. The hotel is worn out and in need of up dating. I would not recommend this hotel.

Excellent place for rest.

This is a nice hotel for family vacations. There is a Japanese restaurant with a very friendly chef and all the staff were pretty kind. The food was good. The pools and the aqua bar were fine. The rooms were fine, with comfortable beds, bathrooms nice and clean. With a lovely view of the beach. I went with my wife and had a great time. Definitely we will come back!!
