Spare yourself almost certain disappointment!! Terrible property!

I literally don't know where to start but to begin by saying that after decades of travel, both for business and pleasure, this was the most disappointing property I have ever spent time in. It is also the only property between my wife and myself (we have easily stayed at 100's of hotels and resorts in the last 20 yrs) that we have asked to leave and we're willing to spend another $125 for transportation to get away from a mere 16 hrs. After checking in. From the mold in our room, to the lack of basic expectations in our room (towels, do not disturb sign, toilet paper, iron, the list goes on), to the obvious disregard for property maintenance and the clearly uncaring attitude of most of the staff we encountered, this place in it's current condition should NOT be an SPG property. I didn't even yet mention the scariest thing we encountered which was a food service and health nightmare at the only restaurant we ate at before checking out the morning after our midnight arrival. I am not going to bore you with repetitive details as I see dozens more have felt the same now that I looked this place up on TA. On the surface this place looks large and grand and the location could potentially be one that a traveler may desire, but it is clearly a mismanaged, uncared for property that will not be around for long in the state that it is being run. On this particular trip we stayed in 12 different properties in 4 different countries and this was by far the most inferior of them all. I would not send a single traveler that I personally know (or not!) to this property nor will we ever visit this place ourselves again. If this is what the SHeraton brand has become it will take a long time for me to even consider another Sheraton stay. We are longtime SPG rewards members and even carry an SPG credit card. Disappointed in an incredible understatement. We asked to leave within a few waking hours the following morning after check-in. We have never asked to move to another room at a property, much less asking to leave but it was apparent we did the right thing on many levels. Not only did they not even ask us why we wanted to leave but the last few people we interacted with as we prepared to move confirmed the obvious when they were rude and/or unprofessional? They even tried to charge us for a water on the way out after no one would wait on us at the bar nor was there a single bottle in our room. We moved to the Westin Playa Bonita and it was night and day. I highly recommend that property! I will be writing a review for the Westin next. A great experience, great property and great employees. The only potential downfall being the beach which is not as "nice or user friendly" but the many pools more than made up for it.

Next door to Sheraton, you can rent from condo owners. Beautiful property, very safe and immaculately kept! Will definitely be returning with my husband, as we have many more local attractions we plan to see!

The most disappointed vocation.

Stayed at the resort for one week from the 26 Feb to the 5 March. The resort is very nice the exterior of the property is well maintained and the surrounding is well kept. The pool food and drinks are very very poor have no international standards. It seems like they only cater for Panamanian who does not care about standards . The pools need a lot of maintenance, drinks well not one international drink only cheap Panamanian drinks .Cost of living is so cheap in Panama and you can't get fresh juices only powdered drinks . The food was the worst if you are lucky and went at the start of the meal you might get something good whenever something is finish it is not top up . There were so many kids did not even have ice cream . The most popular tea in Panama Canela was out of stuck for 2 days . Could go on and on will not advice anyone to go there for a vocation. The staff is very nice but very poor management.

Sheraton should be ashamed

Everything was awful. The service; staff doesn't speak english, only 1 bar open at night and no waiters. 20-30 minute wait at bar for drinks. Buffet was limited in choice and supply. Opened for breakfast at 7:30 and at 8 there is nothing left. 1 defective toaster for whole clientele. Only 1 Bread knife when only bread available is unsliced. Want coffee...better be ready to run around and steal some...Entertainment...what entertainment? Sunwing representative was mediocre and as demotivated as the staff. Room was dirty and stunk. Asked for new room and got one 3 days later. Not enough towels, palapas, parasols. Had to get up at 6 am to reserve beach chairs...I am SPG starwood member and have never been to a Sheraton as bad as this one. Staff needs training, motivation and there needs to be more of them,.Rooms have no coffee, no hairdryer or iron. Just great!

Great trip

We traveled to Panama for a 2 week trip on Feb 11th. Our stay at the Sheraton Bijao was a good one. Our check in went smoothly, the majority of meals at the main buffet were good or very good. Room was clean, outside pool areas were clean and all open. One downside was that there was a bar outside of the buffet and it was never open and you could only get wine or beer with your meals. The bathroom in our room could be renovated, but everything worked and it was clean.
