Beautiful resort

The resort is beautiful and the service was excellent. While the buffet was consistently only fair, the restaurant meals were excellent! Plan ahead and make reservations for the restaurants, it's worth it! We had a wonderful stay, but the last night was quite noisy- there appeared to be a lot of locals there and the partying went on all night. Other than that the resort was quiet and relaxing. It is about a 2 hour drive to the airport and any tours that you would want to do. It was worth it though to be on the beach!!!

I have traveled Around the world and this resort was one of the best! The staff was attentive and friendly.. The managers made sure everything was personal and perfect. The rooms and the food were excellent . Never had such attention to detail and personal detail. Highly recommend this resort.

Very nice resort. Depending upon traffic volume from airport it is a 2-3 hours commute to the resort. The buildings are very old, but the staff works very hard to keep everything shinning.

This is our fourth trip with Apple. There was no Apple representative on site at our hotel and information about optional tours, excursions, activities, etc. was limited. We did not have an introductory session upon arrival as we had on other Apple trips.

We were changed an additional fee to get a balcony room at check in. The pool bar had small children, driving, rude, unsupervised.

Very nice hotel, wonderful staff! The only comment is make sure you know your Spanish, it is very hard to find anyone that speaks english. I'm thankful that my husband speaks Spanish otherwise communications would have been very difficult.

We booked the hotel knowing little about it - the rooms were basic but nice. As with many Central American hotels everything is tiled - no carpet - so as expected you can hear the next room but thankfully the hotel wasn't very full when we were there. The staff was excellent and food was great. We were very happy overall with the hotel and the service. Best brush up on some Spanish as not all the staff could speak English - and ask questions about nightly entertainment as it was a mystery to us what they had in store for us each night we were there. If you are taking an excursion - be sure to see the old part of the city either coming from or on the way to the airport. It is going through a major transformation. Overall we would recommend this resort.

Quiet but clean and beautiful resort

We stayed five nights at the Sheraton Bijao Beach Resort. We didnt realize it was rainy season when we went (Sept), so it was overcast 40% of the time. The resort is about 2 hours from the airport and Panama City, so if you want to do any excursions be prepared for a long car trip. Overall the resort itself was very beautiful and sits right on the beach front. It was quiet while we were there (we were there Mon-Sat so not too many local weekenders were there) so there were always chairs at the pool and reservation spots for dinner. There were quite a number of kids at the "adult" pool so sometime it was a wait to get a spot at the swim up bar. The food was typical resort type food, but it was a little better of a selection and all of the restaurant entrees and appetizers were good (we especially like the Hibichi!!) The rooms were clean but modest with no real ammenities other than bottled water - no liquor or beer in the fridge. Overall it was a relaxing vacation and a beautiful country with lovely people.

Not the best hotel ever

This hotel is fine probably to go with friends or if you don't spect much of a luxurious trip. The hotel is quite old and it has some issues such as cleaning deficit, not taking care of the beach (full of cups as the hotel uses plastic glasses which are normally spread all around probably due the high frequency of drunk people). The hotel is crowded and there is music played 24/7 at a really high volume, even at your room you can hear this early in the morning or late at night. The best thing of the hotel is the beach, the buffet food needs to improve as well and the restaurants which aren't the buffet.

I spent an incredible New Years vacation at this hotel with my family. Staff were incredible and was pleased by such impeccable service. Each meal was well presented and delicious. I saw that not just my group were enjoying themselves but others as well that we made friends with. But the New Years party was the best. I witnessed how it poured rain on the 31st and how rapidly this hotel rearranged the venue making sure that the dinner and party would be memorable not just for my family but for everyone there. The buffet was probably the best ever seen in an all inclusive hotel and delicious. Each night we were in the lobby bar enjoying the Piano music. Talk about class! Then the entertainment-wow, I couldn’t believe this was an all-inclusive. Our 4 days felt as if we were on a cruise. For sure am going to come back.

If i have a chance - i will give this property - 5* !

We stayed in this called 5* (!) place for 1 week and there was NO single day we did not fight for our survival in this place ! But management does not care as they do not speak any english or maybe pretend they do not understand what you say . Everything started from moment we arrived - i payed a fortune for delux double room with ocean view and we were placed in partial view - we went to claim the room i booked - after 1,5 hour we were moved , then - this room was for 2 people - there was only 1 shampoo , 1 conditioner , 3 large towels and only 1 hand towel , when i asked - i have been told - " its finished (?) " Room was stinky and moldy with dust all over - later i understood why - you need to see the tools they use to clean the floor dirty nasty water and they smear it in your room - yaks .. so list is very long : -safe did not work -fan in bathroom did not work -room AC had NO filter -room had only 1 night stand and no way to plug your phone near bed Hotel was crazy crowed with families of hundreds kids , babies and toddlers , to get food in a restaurant was always a struggle, staff was trying to bring supplies as quickly as possible but its was not possible and very often when you hear the answer :"Sorry, its Finished!" Another issue - hygiene ! They serve ugly plastic glasses for drinks and due to limited capacity - glasses became stinky and greasy - so on top of your drink you see oily film with smell of dirty water , brrrrr... Beach : Ocean and beach was nice but there was not enough sunbeds and people drop towels on then at 7am regardless they used them or not , also there are wild dogs on a beach who were laying on sunbeds and taking pup and leak on a beach so you will experience a unpleasant surprise :-( Entertainment : There NO English speaking show or entertainment in this property so be prepared to be excluded from all activities . I can continue for more but in general - if this will be 2,5* hotel and i pay $120 a night - this will be fare but if they claim this is Sheraton Hotel 5* - and you pay $420 a night - this is real rip off deal . So stay away !!!

Okay, but avoid the weekends!

We stayed at the Sheraton for four days after a trip to Panama City. We arrived on the Saturday of a long weekend and what has been said here before is absolutely true: completely not what we expected, absolutely awful. The place was crowded with mostly locals, kids running around everywhere, the buffet was a mess and so were the bathrooms. It was not pleasant at all, noisy, dirty, overcrowded. Luckily, the crowd left on Sunday afternoon and it got much better then. Still not a top-scale all-inclusive Ressort but it was okay. The breakfast buffet is nice. The lunch and dinner buffets are okay, mostly the same every day and they could put a little more effort into it. The Italian restaurant was very nice. The Japanese is okay but they rush you to eat four courses in less than 60 minutes and serve the dessert (ice cream!) while you still eat the main dish. Personally, I don’t like that. What also bothered me is the large amount of birds that occupy the breakfast and lunch buffet and tables. It’s disgusting. They are everywhere on the tables, the chairs, over the food. And so is their poop. The hotel should do more to avoid this, it’s not very hygienic. The room was okay, and the staff was friendly, they tried with the little English they spoke. The pool area is nice and so is the beach and the ocean. One incident, that happened before we arrived, had let me to expect the worst, and I also want to share it here. Since we didn’t have a rental car, I contacted the hotel before our visit about transportation. They gave me the contact details of an agency they work with, colon2000 respectively their sister company aventuras2000. I send them two mails (in English as their website is in English as well). Got no reply. Called them (already a hassle to do from abroad). The lady that picked up (I tried three times) always told me she doesn’t speak English and hung up!!!! So I called the hotel to ask if they have another suggestion. They gave me the number of another shuttle service (said they didn’t have an email address) which I called. This number didn’t exist. It was very frustrating. We organized our own transportation in the end but I sent a mail to the Sheraton telling them about what happened. I am fully aware that they just gave me the names of a service they are not associated with, but I do expect a hotel (any hotel but maybe even more a Sheraton) to make sure that the recommendations they give are reliable. That’s my expectation and I told them this in my mail. Until today, this message has not been answered in any way. Very bad customer experience. The stay itself was okay, apart from the first overcrowded day. I enjoyed the few days we spent here but doubt that we will come back again.

We are very disappointed in the beach and the service here...we are here right now and can't even sit near the beach cuz they don't pick up the debris on the sand and garbage along the beach too ...the food is just ok not much selection and the 2 restaurants that are open is ok too ...i wouldn't come back to this one for sure
