Not Bad But Not Good

The Hotel The hotel is nice, I like the pools and the aquabar. There is a kid`s club, but the entertainment for adults is not very good. The Rooms The rooms are not in very good conditions unless you are a SPG guest and got the upgrade. The Staff The staff is friendly and helpful. The Food The food is terrible, they just dont know how to cook, they once had two chefs from Europe and the food was great then they left and the food became garbage. Even at their fine dining restaurant the food was terrible. My Last Stay Well it was pretty regular. The food was terrible, and we left the fine dining restaurant and went to the buffet to see what they had , and we were stopped by hotel staff and questioned about why we were eating at the buffet since we had just finished dining in the restaurant, at that point my wife was about to blow up, and I was very blunt, I told them that the food sucked AND THAT NEITHER MY DAUGHTERS, 4 & 8 Y/O, were not going to bed hungry because they cant cook, by the way the buffet sucked too. Breakfast is ok.

Nice place to visit

Lovely hotel, rooms nicely decorated, but kinda basic. Beach is okay, a mix of black & yellow sand. 2 hours from Panama City and after a long flight to have to drive 2 hrs is tough. I would do a spilt stay and spend the night in Panama City then go out to Playa Blanca.

Spacious, time constrained, overpriced...

Our family spent time here for a company conference. While the rooms were spacious and the conference facilities accommodated several hundred people we were disappointed that the pools were only open during the day and closed all evening and night. The food provided was in large quantities but was limited to mainly pastas, soups and the meat of of the day (chicken, fish...). The fruit and salad bar offered minimal choices and also was not very fresh. While drinks were included in the daily price, it only included a couple of common drinks with low end alcohol and local versions of "cheap" beer. While there were options for other drinks they were often >$10 per drink...

Great hotel, horrible food!

Really enjoyed the hospitality and the water -view suite. The Sheraton Club was nice, great ambiance, service, premium beverages. Downstairs on the other hand, food was uneatable. The staff didn't really seem to enjoy what they do. As an SPG Preferred Member I expected recognition and a better overall service.

Disgusting please don't go

The hotel is very nice but be aware that the food is the worst in all 3 meals. The main chef Christian Conrad from South Africa needs to urgently return to his country to learn basic cooking and food management for a hotel. A plus would be if he also learned customer service. The pianist in the lobby is the highlight of your stay to make you forget the lousy drinks served. First time that I knew Panama produced Vodka which translates to rubbing alcohol in a bottle. Liquors are house brands, no drinks in your room, water bottles scarced and controlled, and the food has been the worst I have eaten in my life. No break for breakfast with the stale bread that is recycled for lunch and dinner. The omellets are dog puke, the lunch hot dog and nachos, dinner in the Japanese (haha) was white rice with soy sauce and cheap hard chicken or worst meat. At the steak house called Coco Solo the chicken again was so hard you needed a saw to cut, lets not mention the steak. The employees are extremely nice and go out of their way to try to make the best of the worst. At the beach most chairs are broken and you will not find anyone to assist you at all. Truly a want to forget never return experience. It is a disgrace they carry the name Sheraton which implies a standard in its own very well not met at this low budget high price hotel. Want to thank Michael the waiter at the main buffet dining room for trying to fabricate an un existent quality food to make us feel better. Thank you it was appreciated and we understand where there is no recourse nothing can be done.
