AMAZING experience

Stayed in August 2016, and it a very comfortable and amazing all-inclusive. Staff is very accommodating and upgraded me to a beautiful suite over a leak in a previous room. The food is the best! The beach is unique with its black volcanic sand. No one bothered me. I was told this is the hotel people from latin america vacation. The water sports shop was the best and I appreciate my first paddle surfing and jet skiing lesson. Will definitely return.

Best if you are a member of the Starwood's Reward Program which allows access to premium club level for top shelf liquor and custom prepared breakfasts, the resort itself is acceptable. Our ocean front beach walk-out room was very pleasant suitable for both my husband and myself and our son

NOT a 5 star... old, hard to get a seat in the restaurant, beach or pool

The location is good, the beach is nice although it has dark hot sand. It's impossible to find a chair near the pool or the beach after 9 am and finding an umbrella or papala is almost impossible. I'm not talking about the best spot... just a spot, a place where to seat and relax on your vacation. Food was ok with some memorable plates, alcohol is good and the staff is friendly at all times specially when they have to tell you there is no available seats in the buffet and it will close shortly... We had a great time anyways

Lied to about restaurants being full

They lie and tell you the restaurants are full, when they are nearly empty, just to save money. Unfortunately, that really sets the tone for the rest of your stay when you are lied to like that. We met several other couples who experienced the same thing, and all agreed it was a cost saving measure. Most of the staff were on nice but when we complained about our entire family of 9 missing dinner, we were told it was company policy and that was it. The grounds are nice. Maintenance is pretty good. Multiple pools, so overcrowding was not an issue. We stayed in the Oceanview upgraded rooms and they were nice as well. I would have rated higher if it weren't for our entire family missing dinner together due to that stupid policy.

This was our 8th time here at the Sheraton Bijao Beach Resort

I've been waiting to write my review only to see what others have posted. Before I write I just want to so that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My wife and arrived the last week of February 2017 and we stayed for two weeks. Some of the reviews posted I can't believe these people where at the same resort that we stayed at. From our flight leaving Toronto ON and we flew Sunwing - was great no issues. We arrived at the SBBR around 9-9:30 pm. The ride from Rio Hato Airport was fast and comfortable. We arrived at the resort check in was fast and our bags we delivered to our room even before we where in our room. We went for a quick bite to eat even at this time of night the food was plenty full and a large variety and very good. For the next two weeks the rooms were very clean - the towels and sheets smelled like they were just taken off a outdoor clothesline nice and fresh daily. All staff were very great from front counter check in - room maids - bar staff - food servers - cooks - chefs etc all very helpful and very respectful of all our needs. For the two weeks the food was great a large variety each day always very tasty. The bar drinks where great as well. I would like to mention a couple of the staff that made our stay extra special Masiel Hernandez and Jorge Mendez thank you very much both My wife and I appreciated all you both did. We will be returning February 2018 for our 9th stay and looking forward to our arrival. Thanks again Bev and Joel
