We stayed for four nights in August 2018 for a honeymoon. We did four nights at Harmony in Coconut Bay and then switched over to Serenity for four nights. I wanted to answer a question during our entire trip: is Serenity worth DOUBLE the price of Coconut Bay. I mean, how could it be? Coconut Bay is already all inclusive, has great reviews, and generally looks like it can be perfect for any type of trip. The answer, which you don't have to wait for a quick commercial break to find out, is...YES. It is absolutely worth it! Let's find out why. Rooms Coconut Bay had a nice-sized room. Bath amenities were solid, shower was...ok (it was like a pre-formed plastic shower), deck was fine, and the bed was comfortable. Overall, it was like a standard, non-premium room I would expect at a Caribbean resort. Enter Serenity's suite. There's NO comparison. We had the lowest tier room (Plunge Pool Butler Suite) but it didn't feel like it at all. There was no reason to ever leave our room as everything we could ever want was there. The plunge pool fit my 6'5 self with room to spare. The outdoor shower had a view of a small mountain. We got bottles of wine every day in our mini fridge and there were tons of other drinks in there like fruit juices, bottles of water, Perrier, Coca-Cola products, club soda, tonic water, and I may be missing some extras. The bathtub fit myself and my wife together, the bed was enormous and it has a TV that comes out a trunk at the foot of the bed (was this real life?). Overall, Serenity is truly more like renting a guest house or an airbnb with top of the line fixtures, finishings, and amenities than anything else. Dining Coconut Bay had generally good food. The restaurant system there was interesting. You had to make reservations DAYS in advance. Like I'm talking we didn't make it to all of the restaurants because they didn't have availability. That was extra frustrating and we weren't expecting that. On the upside, you could walk up later at night like around 8:30 PM and basically try to fly as a standby passenger diner and try to get a no-show's table. We did that twice. They do have places to get food open pretty much all hours of the night; I think the pizza place closes in the early morning which was awesome. Now I'm not one to really focus on the food anywhere and make that a reason to spend a ton more money; you find me at a white tablecloth restaurant maybe two times a year if that. Serenity. Had. Amazing Food. Not just the food that was good, the options of where you could have it as well. Have dinner/lunch in a cabana or just have a private dinner at your room. You can also almost set your own menu. Let's say you really liked the crab cakes and grilled vegetables and chicken like we did. That became our private dinner one night. Our wine glasses never went empty and it almost became a game to see how low they could get before we got offered a refill. They were serving Frontera wine which is definitely a step above any all inclusive I've ever been to. The drinks are just so much better at Serenity than Coconut bay which I would expect but it's not just like they use an aged rum in the rum and coke vs rail rum, the mixed drinks are just better. Grounds and Amenities Coconut Bay has so much to choose from. They have an adults-only pool with hot tub and several other pools with a lazy river and waterslides. They have these chairs that look out at the water and they're on rotating platforms so you can perfectly align yourself with the sun for maximum tanning or burning. They have some sort of entertainment every night and it's actually pretty fun. From live music to group dance lessons and even adults-only beach parties. I was really satisfied with this aspect of Coconut Bay. Serenity did not have any night entertainment that I was aware of which is absolutely fine because Coconut Bay is a 300 ft. walk. The pool at Serenity is awesome and the landscaping is meticulous. When we were there, we could always get a cabana if we wanted which was important for when it would rain furiously for two minutes in the afternoon. Honestly, since we traveled as a couple, we didn't need the best pool are since the suite is awesome. This is probably more important for group travelers. This turned into more of a Coconut Bay vs Serenity review but staying at Coconut Bay first gave us an idea of how much value our dollars would get us. Honestly, we weren't really that impressed with Coconut Bay just from the restaurant reservation system, them running out of towels, slow service (this is the Caribbean, I know), and the beach being completely covered in seaweed to the point we actually walked on it the first day and that was it. Coconut Bay definitely provides a completely different experience than Serenity so there's that to consider but there we just many times we felt a little let down. Going into Serenity, we were hopeful but our expectations weren't super high. Serenity exceeded anything I could have ever expected and for sure set a new super high bar for service, room quality, property quality, and amenities that I will unfortunately judge future all-inclusive properties by. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so wonderful.

We were looking for a quiet and relaxing week in the sun and Serenity delivered on every level. The boutique property was lovely. Our accommodations roomy, well appointed and spotless. Gourmet menu was delicious, and the service impeccable. We would highly recommend this property. Special thanks to our friendly, helpful and responsive Butlers Gregg, Dez and Yannic. Thanks also to hotel manager Michael for being a gracious host and resolving a day one hiccup immediately and beyond our expectations.

If you're looking for a romantic, secluded, completely pampered vacation this is the place. The staff is warm, friendly & extremely accommodating. Our main server Hannah set up a romantic anniversay dinner and along with the rest of the staff made it truly special. Although the entire staff was awesome we had Hannah as our main waitress and she always had a smile on her face and made is feel as if we were her only patrons. We would definitely go back whether it was for a special occasion or just a relaxing vacation.

From the moment i arrived at Serenity it took my breath away. Gregg our butler met us on arrival and escorted us to our amazing room and even brought us some cocktails from the bar to welcome us.The rooms are big and spacious and cleaned twice a day with the plunge pool a lovely and refreshing thing to have right there outside of your room along with bar area and a fridge stocked up with our favorite alcohol :-) The food was top class and we ate there every single night because we loved it so much. There was the occasional evening entertainment such as a singer and pianist which was great and of high quality. The pool area again lovley and relaxing with plenty of space to swim and bathe. The staff at serenity are amazing and really give to that 5* service , it was an unforgettable experience and special shout out to Gregg out amazing butler. Thank You again. Jody Findley

Serenity was all and more than I expected from an all inclusive vacation. From the minute we arrived, the entire staff went out of their way to make this vacation the best ever. Always greeting us with a smile and going out of their way to get us whatever we needed. Thank you to the exceptional bar staff...Jessa, Daisy, Lez, Kay, Donad and Lee prepared and delivered the best drinks ever, always open to make you whatever drink you could think of. Jonathan from the grounds crew was there to offer you a daily dose of fresh coconut water off the tree...and even went out of his way to find me a fresh mango! The butler service was fabulous. A special thank you to Gregg, Yanic, Linus, Rochel,Quade and Dez for always having out room stocked, reservations and excursions booked. You really made the week easy! The maid service was exceptional and Miss Rosey never forgot to leave an inspirational quote at turn down service...very nice touch! The restaurant staff of Ginel, Whitney, Allana, Cathy, Tyler, Hannah, Earlan, Ray, Delon, Asha, Jakim, Sadie, Ali, Calre, Kevin, Chard, and Ray were outstanding! I can't say enough about this resort and their staff and they all deserve to be recognized! I can't go without recognizing the General Manager, Michael Smith...he runs a great resort and goes out of his way to make sure his guests are happy. Thanks Mike! We will definitely be back to the best all inclusive resort I have experienced! We made a lot of new friends and now what I would call my Serenity family! George and Teresa thank you!
