We loved this resort! The preferred club ocean view with hot tub was beautiful! Our lil club bar & snacks was a treat on our way in & out of room.. the location was perfect walking to town or a quick cab was easy and safe! Food, drinks and atmosphere were wonderful and exceeded our expectations! We have traveled to many all inclusive and this one is on the top! I loved the staff and pool... it is a smaller resort, but we did not mind.. beach is a lil rocky but nothing to complain about

Nice resort

My wife and I decided to spend our vacation at Secrets. We both have many food allergies, 5 in total, and Secrets is suppost to be one of the best. After 10 days eating almost every meal on site I can say their restaurants are very accomadating. Will start off my saying one of my allergies is nuts and at the lobby bar they provide to people upon request a plate of snacks with peanuts and pretzels. This did bug me and made me be careful of where I touched. I ended up only touching my own glass and washing my hands every hour while keeping my hands away from my face. The staff didnt seem very worried about me even though many staff members new about my allergies. Now.. totally different when you enter one of the restaurants. We had received two allergy card from the main desk for our allergies. My wife and I would show them to our waiter and they were always very careful with the food. I ate many things that they specially made for me without this or that. Our favorite was Bordeaux the French spot. Scallops and lamb and steaks and French onion soup and so much more. You can order 2 of the same menu item if u like it that much which we did. For lunch they even have a couple options. We went to oceana a few times it is very good for wings and fries they even have poutine. Many many other items soups and salads and ceviche. They also have a poolside grill that does good hot dogs, ok burgers and gyros. An area aswell for make your own nachos. Good for if you want to take a plate or two and sit on your beach or pool chair. Now for breakfast they only had the buffet. The food is good but after 10 days you pretty much eat the same thing each morning gets a little boring. But then there Ceasar, our breakfast waiter. Make sure you ask to be sat in his section. He is very happy and a hard working man. He is usually running to get you your mimosas and coffees. He works 2 jobs to support his family and definitely deserves a tip. The pool area is very well organized. A ton of chairs with a mix of sun and shade. The wait staff are very hard working and always having fun. Every waiter remembered our drinks from the day before and throughout the day. The drinks are not watered down trust me on this. I got to thinking they were for the first day then I ordered a drink with little ice. So much better. They top the drinks up with ice to keep them cold but it's so hot the ice starts to melt and the water stays on top. Just order your drink little ice and your set. The entertainment at the pool was awesome. Water aerobics pretty much every day. Every second day they bring in a live band. They have poker tournaments, ping pong and crazy games. A couple days they ran a fashion show around the pool. They do water volleyball and even have a giant chest board poolside. Noeh is a blast with his entertainment. He runs a few games and has the best attitude towards his job. The beach is not like the Cancun side that's for sure, but it is a great beach. Lots of room to walk to the left or the right. My wife and I even walked to the malecon. I do recommend water shoes. We found some really cool ones on amazon for 11 bucks and brought with us. The beach gets rocky in this area because there are many rivers that flow into the bay. You can do barefoot no problem but we just found the shoes helped us walk faster. The vendors at the beach are not much of a problem. Just tell them no gracias and they leave you alone. The hotel offers paddleboards and kayaks. We did the paddleboard one day and took them out pretty far. One group of people went to the other side of the bay. The ocean was very calm and easy to go around. The room was nice and clean. Amazing views. We were on the 10th floor and the sunset from the room were the best I have ever seen. One complaint which is only an issue if you go to bed early is because of the hotels design to gain views is it also acts like a megaphone to the live music in the lobby at night. So loud it is hard to sleep. The music was done by 11 every night so if you just stay up no need to worry. We had room service a couple times and it was always on time and good. Was expecting when we ordered for it to be 45 mins to and hour but they said 20 mins and the phone and yes it was there right at 20 mins. Overall the hotel is awesome. Great food, great drinks, great service, many activities to do, live music almost every day. We will for sure be coming back if we come back to PV.

Great trip!

We loved this resort! The food is the best we’ve ever had. We loved Bordeaux with excellent service from Martin & Aldo. We also enjoyed the Asian where Abraham, Martin & Manuel were fantastic servers. We started each morning at the buffet which had absolutely every breakfast item you could think of including a fantastic omelette bar. Raul really put us in a great mood each morning with his jokes, great customer service and tasty mimosas. The pools are great! Lots of entertainment ie: bands playing, foam party with DJ. There are plenty of seats in quiet areas too. There is no problem getting chairs, very few people ‘saved’ seats like we find at other resorts. We were treated so well by Saul, Omar & Miguel at the pool even in the rain while waiting for hurricane Willa. All the rooms have a view. This is definitely the best resort we’ve been to for entertainment. There was music in the lobby bar every night, shows every night, a small casino with slot machines, etc. The house band "Black Sheep" were fantastic. They played great music which made for a fun pool experience and really livened up cocktail hour in the lobby bar. This resort is within walking distance or a $4 taxi ride to town which was very convenient. The best ambassador for this hotel and the main reason we would return would be the treatment we received from Jamie. The first time we met him, he just came to talk to us on the pool deck, he cleaned our sunglasses while we chatted. We were lucky enough to meet Jamie and his lovely family after work in a local restaurant for tacos and will remember his genuine kindness forever. Every time we needed anything Jamie made sure we had it. I would also like management to know that every day I was the first person at the pool. I set up my spot by 8:00 and read until my friends joined me. Every morning a young man named Edgar was there setting up chairs, etc. He always made sure I had towels and if he saw me moving an umbrella he would run over and help me. Edgar was by far the hardest working person at your resort. We will definitely return!

Nearly perfect!

I visited Secrets in November 2018 with my partner for 2 weeks. We booked and flew with TUI. Check in: Easy peasy. There was a bit of a queue as we all got off the coach transfer at the same time but it only took about 5 minutes to check us in. Staff took our cases and within about 2 minutes of us getting to our room our cases arrived. Room: Lovely! The bed was so comfortable! Well stocked mini fridge and a few evenings whilst we were getting round someone came round to top the fridge up and asked if there was any drinks we wanted. The room was cleaned daily and apart from 2 nights we got turn down service. The shower was great, some people said theirs didn’t get hot but we were always guaranteed a hot shower regardless of the time. It was a well equipped room and had everything that we needed. The first day we had an issues with the mosquito net door on the balcony and someone was up to fix it within minutes. We loved leaving the door open and listening to the ocean as we slept. It’s a spacious room - could have done with more drawer space and hangers. Food: Amazing!!! Definitely the best from an all inclusive we have ever been to. Italian - gorgeous and I always think AI Italians are rubbish but this was brilliant. French - absolutely the best however on our last night we found the food a bit cold and the service slow. Oceana - better for lunches due to the menu size but still good at dinner time. Castaways - burger was amazing!!!! Mexican - loved the decor inside, food was great especially the ceviche and we had amazing cucumber margaritas. Japanese - we only ate al a carte here and weren’t that impressed so didn’t go back for the teppanyaki. Market cafe - brilliant selection for all meals and fresh Barefoot grill - only really had nachos here which I don’t really think you can get wrong. Romantic beach dinner - I’ve seen a lot of reviews about the chefs table being the preferred option if paying for food on the resort. We had the beach dinner, amongst other things we had surf n turf. Wow wow wow. It was amazing!!! Our waiter was superb and the setting at sunset was just perfect. Drinks/bars - drinks are really good quality and if you ask for anything they will try and accommodate you. Staff - the staff are brilliant here. Noe from the entertainment team always had us laughing, we did yoga with Luis most mornings, and were always chatting to the guy who does the table tennis ( forgotten his name) and they were all so so friendly and always making sure we were ok. All the restaurants staff were great too and the girl who greeted us each morning at the market cafe was an absolute joy!!! Not staff but Molly the TUI rep was so helpful with recommendations and again making sure everything was ok! We did rhythms of the night which was great. The hotel is located brilliantly. On the main road walking left towards the marina there is La Isla and bars/places to eat and to the right it’s about a 25 minute walk to the malecon. Our only real issue with the hotel as many have mentioned was the noise. For around 90 minutes every afternoon there would be a live band by the pool and then in the evening the lobby. We wanted to listen to the waves and relax and sleep but felt it was always really noisy. But you can’t please everyone and the hotel does seem geared towards an American audience and they seemed to like it. Also a lot of the songs would be repeated. We would definitely return. The views are out of this world!!!!
