I don't even know where to begin! Amazing!!!! I have never been treated so good in my life! The staff is out of this world. The staff does everything for you. They even place your towel on your beach chair for you. We had a group of 9 and they put our beach chairs together everyday. Never a gloomy face there. Everyone is happy to be there and help you. Great drinks, food and atmosphere. You could not ask for more!!!! I promise!!! Best vacation I have ever been on or ever will go on! Place is rated top 5 in the entire world!!! I would say, GO!!!!!

Will certainly return!

Wow...what a great resort! Beach is AMAZING! The staff goes above and beyond to serve you. From helping to find chairs on the beach (thank you Eddy and Carlos) to chairs by the pool.... everything you want/need is never a bother for them. Great bartenders (Andres, "Toro", Ruban), concierge Roger, wait staff and entertainment staff - great! We only ate at 3 of the restaurants - Porto Fino, Oceana, and Himitsu (we didn't do the grill, just ordered off the menu). Seriously the BEST food we've ever had at resorts. We've been to Secrets Silversands as well as the Vine and Maroma Beach was just as amazing. Two tips - 1. GO TO THE FOAM PARTY! 2. When you leave chairs, PLEASE TAKE YOUR TOWELS when you leave/move. It's difficult to determine "available" chairs sometimes.

Best vacation ever :)

My friend and I had a great time. The room was lovely and every single employee that we met was super friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful and the pools were great too. The Mexican restaurant was my favorite.

Most Excellent

From the moment of our arrival, the courtesy and hospitality was obvious. The staff was exceptional in every aspect, especially VIP service, the Concierge and housekeeper staff. We especially appreciated the Concierge checking with us to make sure everything met our needs. Also the wait staff in every restaurant, bar and buffet was exemplary.

Really Nice Place

We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Secrets Maroma. We traveled with our 2 adult sons. I do not know what the occupancy level was, but it was very quiet when we were there. There was never a crowd and never had to wait for a table at any restaurant. Our room was in building 14 on the second floor. I was really concerned about noise as we were close to the elevator, but it was not an issue. Not much a view of the ocean from the 2nd floor, so go higher if you can. The room was really nice and great size. Couple of things I want to point out: 1.) The thermostat has a button on the side to switch between Fahrenheit and Centigrade. If prefer the fan to run constantly to drown out any noise, but there was no option to do that. So, we set the thermostat to 65 and it just ran constantly. It did get to 67, which is pretty chilly. 2.) My wife and I have been married for 28 years and are very comfortable with each other. But, the bathroom set-up is terrible. A glass door with a whole in it is no way to close off the toilet. Also, if one of us needed to use it at night it lit up the entire room. 3.) The bed was very comfortable. Actually, more comfortable than our bed at home. 4.) TV worked good with many choices in English. 5.) I-Pod dock is old style and does not accept iPhone 6 or iPhone 7. 6.) Room service was really good. They do have the “magic door” but we had them come in and they set up for us. It was very good and only took about 30 minutes. Everything came exactly as we ordered and hot. 7.) I read about how slippery the floors get when they get wet and they were not kidding. Be VERY careful if any water gets on the floor. 8.) Nespresso Machine: Ours did not work at all, my sons worked poorly. One call and they came and fixed it. It’s odd that they only give you 3 pods and housekeeping does not refill them. They send someone else to do the mini-fridge and they refill the pods, so that only happens once a day. 8.) There is plenty of closet and drawer space. We put the suitcases under the bed. Our sons were in building 12. 2nd floor also, and no view of the ocean. They liked being close to the main building. Overall the food was very good. World Café was open for breakfast and lunch, not dinner. They told us that since the occupancy was low they did not open for dinner. The upside to this is that most nights every restaurant was open. We ate breakfast every day at the World Café (except for room service once). It was all very fresh and very tasty. The omelets were wonderful and Margarita makes a great quesadilla right in front of you! For lunch, we really enjoyed the Seaside Grill. If you order from the pool or the beach the food comes from there. The Shrimp Tacos were just amazing. The char-grilled octopus was really great too. The pizza at the pool was really tasty. The Barefoot Grille had great hot dogs, burgers, fries and whole fish. Dinner: Our favorite was the French restaurant, Bordeaux. Make sure you have the escargot! I have never had them in the shell before, but they were the best I have ever had. The crème brulee was really great and the perfect size. We really enjoyed the duck, the beef bourguignon, and the seafood casserole. Our second favorite was Himitsu. We sat at a regular table (not where they cook in front of you). The sushi appetizers were great as were the entrees. The entrees were expertly prepared and the presentation was just magnificent. We like Oceana too. I had the fish of the day and it was cooked perfectly. Our server, Manuel, was great. Portifino was just OK. None of the dishes really stood out. We like El Patio the least. While the dishes sounded to be authentic Mexican, they all tasted the same. It’s a shame because the atmosphere was beautiful inside. Since we loved Bordeaux so much we skipped the steak restaurant on our last night and had French again. It was just as good as the first time. As other reviewers have said the house wine (included) was very good. There other wines are so overpriced it’s just not worth it (For Example: $6 US for a glass of Yellow Tail). I did email the resort about a week before we arrived and told them that I did not want to be approached about Unlimited Vacation Club (timeshare). They honored that request and I was never approached. We split our time between the pool and the beach. Both were really fun. The entertainment team was great. They would ask you if you wanted to join in and did not pester if you did not want to. We really enjoyed our time with Emma and Ursula. I did the bike tour and I wished I hadn’t. It was very hot, lots of mosquitos and not a whole lot to see. We did not use any of the included water activities. There are plenty of blue “floaties” to use in the pool. They were nice just to lounge around. The service at the pool was fantastic. They were always there to get a refill or some food. They had a couple of really nice touches like a cart that would come around and give you and ice-cold towel, an ice-cold bottle of water and they would clean your sunglasses. They also walked around a few days handing out popsicles. Beach service was not as good and certainly nowhere as frequent. We never return to a hotel as there are so many choices out there, but this place was great. If you are looking for a relaxing, elegant vacation, then this is the place for you. This is not a party crowd.
