We stayed in September. We had read the reviews but most were positive. We upgraded everything we could. Heart sank when we walked into reception it really needs upgrading. Smelt musty and felt a bit of a nuisance for actually turning up. Our room was lovely over 2 floors and everything we could possibly need. Vip decking was closed the day after we arrived and didn't open again until 3 days until we left. However we still had beach service. Alicia is worth 7 stars let alone 5 she is an absolute credit to the hotel. We felt most of the staff need re training in customer service. Spoke to several couples who were return guests and most said they won't re visit which is a terrible shame because with some tweaking it could be really nice The food wasn't great but we never went hungry. Never understood why we had to wait to be seated at breakfast and sometimes we waited a long time and were totally ignored while staff had a little chat. Had emailed the hotel before as it was our 40th wedding anniversary and had wanted to pre order some extras but they never replied. So that was a major let down.

A Little Disappointed

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and the staff are great but we feel the hotel is becoming a little tired. The food wasn't as good this time and not as much choice but in saying that we always found something to eat. There were issues with weed which is not the hotel's fault but it was sometimes after 11am before staff started to clear it away, couldn't believe how many breaks they get and constantly on their phones instead of working.Staff at the burger hatch often abrupt and rude which we are not used to, surely some training in how to treat the customer wouldn't go amiss. We don't feel that Chopstix is in the best position, people coming and going while you are eating and if it rains it has to be somewhere else anyway, food is good though. One evening in Rachels 2 gentlemen wearing dress shorts were told to go back and change but a girl was allowed to enter in shorts barely covering her bottom, surely this needs to be addressed!! it seems like double standards men have to look decent but women don't? we also feel that Richard is wasted on Drifters bar, when he is at the bar in Rachels there is a more special and friendly ambiance. We also had our evening bookings missed twice when we were told they had been made, fortunately because it was quiet we were able to dine. Overall it is a friendly hotel but needs some money spending on it.

Savannah Beach - Great for families

We found that a family holiday splits in two: ours and the kids' - who are old enough to be self-sufficient. There was a lot for the kids to do while we did our own thing. Being on the beach was great, saw turtles hatching and coming up to lay eggs. We are adventurous and went out a lot, the people were welcoming and friendly - a few real characters too! Kids enjoyed the organised tours as we did. We had a family suite: 2 bedrooms but only one bathroom which didn't prove to be the constraint we thought it might have been. The room was by the pool, a minute to the beach, comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful. Evening entertainment good. We would like to return one day, the trip left such good memories.

Wonderful helpful staff

I stayed in the hotel for two weeks in October with my husband and thoroughly enjoyed it. The all inclusive food was adequate but the a la carte option in Rachel’s was great. The location was good and transport easy to use and we even got to see a nest of turtles hatching , the hotel staff were really friendly and helpful , I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
