Another excellent visit

Fabulous hotel run by equally fabulous staff prepared to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is perfect. This is our 4th stay at Savannah Hotel and each stay gets better and better (currently planning out 5th visit) The 3 onsite restaurants have a beautiful selection of fresh health food - plenty of fish, salad and vegetables - cant imagine how anybody could go hungry with the varying selection on offer daily. The hotel is extremely well maintained with constant work being undertaken in a discreet manner so as not to disrupt ones holiday enjoyment. The beach is amazing at low tide for rock pooling with a wide array of weird and wonderful creatures to spot. We were there over Christmas and cannot thank the hotel staff enough for making it a Christmas to remember. Keep up the great work and we look forward to seeing you all again at the end of the year x

Mixed feelings

I have such mixed feelings about our stay at Savannah Beach as there are lots of positives e.g. it's a lovely size, not a massive, impersonal property. There is a nice amount of guests that give it a friendly buzz. It's in a great location, you can walk to the magnificent Carlisle Bay beach and you're just a short trip from a variety of places. There are some really friendly and helpful staff. However, what really makes a holiday for me are the people and there are also some very miserable staff in both the bars and restaurants. One day we popped back to our room when the cleaner was there and she was incredibly rude. Shouting at me and my girls and making me feel like a scolded child! I'm all for a chilled, Caribbean vibe but the beach bar service could be extremely slow. At the start of our stay, the lunch service was terrible but you could see that they then worked at improving that and so while the food offering was reduced, the service times greatly improved. Unfortunately the quality of food was very variable. We had some fabulous meals but also some tasteless ones. Please, please, please offer some alternative salad dressings - oil and vinegar or vinaigrette. You provide such lovely salads but only mayonnaise or occasional Thousand Island dressing which are both heavy and thick. One definite area for improvement are the sunbeds on the beach. Most are way past their sell-by date, sagging and uncomfortable. These in themselves would be a reason to upgrade if you're thinking of doing so as the little VIP area has really nice beds. I do think that something went wrong over the Christmas/New Year period as I booked this hotel partly based on the fabulous service reviews on here and can't help but feel disappointed by the service we received and I've noticed a spate of recent negative reviews that weren't there before?? So I'm assuming that things will return to 'normal' again now that the festive period is over. Finally we also booked here because of the performing arts and children's clubs on offer in the Virgin Holiday brochure as my children don't like sunbathing but love singing and dancing. When we enquired about the club, the receptionist knew nothing about it and when we checked out the children's club we found a very dark, smelly room and a programme of activities for older children that seemed to consist of movie time and video games. Needless to say that neither of the girls fancied going along. We did enjoy our stay because we are relaxed holiday makers, we had a lovely, bright room with a nice balcony (just needs seating for 4) overlooking the courtyard. It was quiet for sleeping and relaxing. There were some nice singers and entertainment in the evenings and they really made an effort on NYEve to make it special. But unfortunately we won't be returning guests, which is a shame.

Savannah, you little gem. We have recently returned from our second visit to the Savannah beach hotel We were there over Christmas and had a fabulous time. We are all ready planning our 3rd visit for next Christmas.we stayed In a pool access room with balcony overlooking the courtyard, perfect for evening drinks. This is a fab hotel and a super find, small and so very friendly And the location is perfect for exploring The staff work tirelessly to ensure everyone has a good time. When it comes to food there is plenty to choose from With the choice of 3 restaurant's Drifters along side the beach for buffet Meals where you can watch the amazing Sun sets. Chop stix for asian fusion food And Rachel's for those special a la cart meals. Thank you Savannah for the super Evening you put on for returning guests The meal in the Hastings room was amazing. You are doing something right To have so many returning guests Keep up the good work. We would like to wish each and every member of staff a very happy New year We can't wait to come back and see you All in 2018

This hotel is well located on the south coast and on the beach. It's an historic property with the main building being rather quaint and the newer section which makes up most of the accommodations being more modern. The property has a restaurant that is mediocre but is open air with a nice view. This hotel has the potential to look quite high end but the décor makes it seem a bit tired and cheap. With a very small investment, this property could be quite upscale. The front desk staff (especially Joanna who shook hands with us when we checked out and genuinely cared about our stay) are friendly and very helpful.

Decent , but could be made better

Stayed for a week over new year, on arrival your first impression is oh dear , old carpets and chairs in reception is not a good look. Walk to room with plates and cups left in corridors again not good. Once in our room things improved , we had a club room which was large, clean and tidy. The food was ok , breakfast very nice , chopsticks again very nice , racheals food was ok but the service was terrible , only six tables to serve and we were in over 2 and a half hours. Drinks in the restaurants took for ever to arrive and in the beach bar beer glasses were quarter pints !!! Special mention to Pettles who looked after the club deck , she was fantastic. Overall the place grows on you as your stay goes on . With a few improvements this could be a very nice place. Think I would return in the future.
