ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT
Nightly Activities & Entertainment:
Light entertainment taking place at Bar One. Happenings and live moments during the day and at night.
The service at this location is the finest I have ever experienced. The wait staff by the pool knew what I was drinking after my second drink and brought by the drinks merely when mine was half empty.
The restaurants are reasonable and it has the one of the finest Japanese cook top restaurants ever. The best is Rene at the steakhouse restaurant. Rene makes the finest flaming coffee which had the whole table taking video. Rene extremely professional and had my name memorized after the first evening. Thank you Rene for making our trip over the top memorable!

The resort is small but the service is excellent. The rooms are nice. Food at the buffet not very good. The Hibachi and steak restaurant are both excellent. Only complaint is concierge desk constantly trying to get you to buy into their vacation time share. That is irritating.
Great, relaxing, laid-back vacation!

If you are all about the food, beach, relaxing and great service, then this hotel is for you! This is our second trip to Sandos Cancun as a couple. The first time in July of 2013, the second time for 9 days beginning September 2, 2015. We had a fabulous vacation both times. The main difference between the months were the amount of visitors. September is a beautiful month to visit Sandos.
Food: The staff at Sandos takes much pride in their cuisine. Here are our recommendations. Zango: Great breakfast & dinner buffet. Daniel, Bernardo, Jesus and Gloria were our daily servers. The service is top notch. We loved the food and our servers shared authentic family recipes with us in conversation. Seasons: We ate lunch here every day. This is a wonderful, course-dining experience in which the menu changed daily with different international tastes. We are foodies and were blown away. We had three servers at each meal. Great views and great flavors. Gaijin: Energetic waiters and the food is great. The portions are on the larger side and they have Sapporo beer! St. Trop: Great outside fare. Tried the fish soup, chef salad, chicken wings and the fish. They make any type of drink you want here. Bar One: Has great drinks and could use a little more light at night. Please tip, it is not expected but is a nice gesture.
Beach: Sandos beach is well taken care of by the attentive lifeguard, Rafael. The entire outside staff make sure that you have everything you need. Get a massage from Jose, he is the best.
There is an on-going seaweed problem in the entire Caribbean area. Cancun is a great place to visit because of the waves helping to clear the beach of the seaweed. We visited Puerto Morelos to snorkel one day and the beaches and water were ruined by the seaweed. There was not much effort to control it there, unlike Cancun. There were 2 out of 9 days of our recent vacation that we would not swim in the ocean due to seaweed. If the ocean is part of your amusement while on vacation, please do your research.
We have stayed on both sides of the hotel and had a balcony both times. We enjoyed the north side of the hotel a little more, but the events at the Golden Parnassus next store can be quite loud at times. This is not a loud, partying hotel. The room service was great and the housekeeping was fine too. The wifi worked fine, no complaints. The concierge were very helpful, but like to talk about their Elite Club.
We will definitely be back.

We visited Sandos Cancun with my wife and our 23 yo son and 17 yo daughter.
We got the ocean view suite. We were very skeptical when we first saw the room. Despite the amazing view and great beds, furniture were below par. Very old TV's, an uncomfortable couch and a two chair dinning table in a room of four. No glassware or plates, an old microwave and a tiny fridge. For a prime suite I would expect way better then that.
But as soon as we called room service everything was resolved. We were lucky to have the most amazing guy to help us out on all of our needs. The guy's name at room service was Carlos. He made sure to make our ten days stay as much comfortable as possible. Stayed on top of our room needs, fast, willing and very polite. Great guy and I wish all hotels I visited in the past had a guy like Carlos.
One of the days I chose to go fishing. I got a nice big snapper and I brought it back to the hotel. For fishing lovers: yes you can bring back your catch and I recommend you too. At the buffet restaurant you have the option to bring back your catch and they will prepare it for you. Oh my, that fish was the most delicious fish I ever had in my life. That wouldn't be possible if not for the amazing young chef of the buffet. The guy prepared it exactly as I asked him too, and I am so glad that I listened to him for a couple extra spice additions.
I really have to mention Valerie at the reception. Always smiling, greeting us and made our day.
Lyz, our morning yoga instructor and our daily activities fairy. Such a sweetheart.
Last but not least all the guys at the pool area that were making everything to keep us happy with refreshments and snacks. Esteban, Jorge, Federico thank you for not only being there to serve us but making our days at Sandos special.
At the end of the day furnitures are furnitures, but great people can make your vacation unforgettable.
Nice, but NO Night life

We were a group of 3 couples wanting to have fun in Cancun. The hotel is nice, if you want to eat at the Japanese restaurant i highly recommend reservations otherwise you are out of luck. the "Seasons" restaurant was great, BEST duck I've ever had! the staff was friendly as well and the rooms were clean. The only problem was that at night is very quiet... unless you are going out in the town this hotel does not offer any activities or entertainment. So if you are trying to relax this is the place for you, but if you want to party maybe look for activities in town.

Recommended for LuxuryNestled at the edge of the sparkling azure waters of the Caribbean Sea and Laguna Nichupte, Sandos Cancun Luxury Resort is among the finest hotels on one of the greatest beaches the world has to offer. When not basking in the warmth of the sun on the sugary sand, indulge yourself at the 15,000-square-foot Spa del Mar, or dine on cuisine inspired by the south of France and enjoy the pleasing mix of European and Mexican warmth and service.
