Second time in Sandos, the experience got even better
Francisco R,

This was our second time traveling as a group of friends to this hotel, and as the title said we had an even better time than the last time. even though we got there a little before the check-in, they were attentive and helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfy, one had a view of the pools and the sea. The food was great, 4 different restaurants to dine plus a buffet. the restaurants require reservations, so plan ahead. the pools were clean and the service was good, we always had drinks and food as requested, though sometimes it took more time than expected because of the amount of people being served. During our stay there were many recreational activities in the hotel. A lady by the name Ximena had always an activity to keep us entertained; from a contest in the pool with a bottle of tequila as the price (which we won, easily), to a cooking class, beach volleyball, and even aqua aerobics in the morning. She was always kind and fun to be around, i cant recommend taking part in the many activities in the hotel enough.

Disappointing visit, won’t be returning

I booked a trip here in early July for a bachelorette party of 11 girls. I’ve been to Cancun before and did thorough research before committing to this resort due the reviews and photos I saw online. My initial thought during arrival was the resort is beautiful, clean but pretty empty. While our stay overall was a good time, I would not recommend this resort to others and won’t return here for the following reasons: 1. Pool area was open and clean but they do not have a swim-up bar and only 1 outside bar that’s not conveniently located near the pool. Service was incredibly slow. We had to go look for staff members almost every time to get our drink order in and it took even longer for the drinks to come out. They seem extremely short staffed and non-attentive 2. Food was underwhelming. For the price you pay, you’d think you’re getting some decent meals. They do not have many options. I believe only 3 real dinner options and 1 being a buffet. I did not have a great meal here other than the hibachi restaurant, which requires reservations to be made the morning of. You’d need to come down to concierge desk to reserve at 7am to get a slot for dinner 3. The bracelet doesn’t get you towels. They hand you a card when you check in and that card is for towel. You’ll need to keep the card with you and hand it back during check-out, else you’ll be charged $50 per card 4. Lastly and the most importantly, I want to mention that this resort doesn’t operate ethically and management is nonexistent. Before coming to Cancun, we had booked a car to pick us up from the resort to airport at 1pm the day we were leaving. We brought down our luggage at 12pm; I had mentioned to the concierge desk that our car is expected to arrive at 1pm and that we’d be back after lunch. We came back around 1pm, as our luggage was getting packed in a car. We thought our car had arrived and the concierge lady told the bellhop and that’s why he was loading up the car for us. All is well on our way to the airport. Once we got there, the driver asked us to pay $80. I was shocked and said that we had already prepaid with the company during booking. He said that he was not part of that company we booked and the bellhop must’ve put our luggage in the wrong car. We had to pay that driver and couldn’t get our money back from the other driver due to late cancellation. We pretty much paid $150 combined for a ride to the airport because the resort miscommunicated. I really should have reconfirmed and that was my fault for trusting. I contacted the resort right away on Tuesday morning. I explained the situation and they asked me to also email them so I did. On Wednesday morning I emailed back to ask if they can respond that they’ve received my initial email but I got nothing... By Thursday I called the resort again. I wanted to make sure I didn’t send it to the wrong email address. The resort said that they received the email and they will contact me in a day or 2. Today is Thursday of the following week and I haven’t heard back from them so I called, again, and they transferred me back and forth between multiple people. At one point, the person hung up on me after putting me on hold. I ended up with the office manager named Yelena who was very argumentative, impolite, insulting and unreasonable. She stated that they had talked to their bellhops and that they followed protocol and they didn’t do anything wrong in the situation. Essentially it’s our words against their employees. I’m frustrated with the way they handled this whole situation. It’s quite obvious customer service is very low on their priority list and management doesn’t seem to care once you’re off their property. I truly regret picking this resort. I normally don’t care enough to write reviews but I love Cancun and there are many great resorts who really care about their customer service. You’re paying a lot of money for great, relaxing and enjoyable time. I’d really advise you to look elsewhere.

Bad experience

Was there a few weeks ago what a horrible experience. Service was so slow and the bars closed mid day. This was suppose to be an all inclusive it sure did not feel like it!when we booked our trip we payed extra for shuttle from airport and back. So when we were going back to airport the bell boy and put our suitcases in the wrong shuttle and we had to pay again since it was not the one we had payed for. So I ended up paying double. We called the hotel and they wouldn’t do anything about it. Very disappointed!

A Great Experience!

We had a great time. We had a balcony in our room with a beautiful view, i recommend the pool view, its much better than the other side where we stood. Everything was well put together, we stayed during fourth of july week, they had great entertainment, the host was great, he was full of energy, he did a great job at keeping everyone entertained. The only thing thats not so good are the drinks, i hated them, the mojito was not consistent between three bars they should have the same recipe, or the drinks weren't strong enough, or just tasted funny. We went on a few excursions that we set up through the hotel and it was worth it, your shuttle driver has snacks and ice cold water on board, in case you missed breakfast. Everyone was nice, and funny. Be prepared, Mexico is an experience well worth it. Do not think twice, i now feel like i lived life.

Always wonderful and relaxing - Pure luxary!

We have been coming to Sandos Cancun for many years! We are never disappointed! The accommodations are beautiful and so clise to everthinh! Pool, cabanas, beach - all within 5 minutes. Alejandro has taken great care of us each year! We always have a cabana ready and waiting! The wait staff is there for your every need! Each year, we meet new members of the social activities team and they are engaging and friendly and make each day great! Ximana, Emmanual, and Abby were this years team. The restaurants all serve great food! Our favorite is the Japanese one! The chefs make that so much fun! Though they should keep that area cooler! I also lovethe water aerobics, cooking lessons on the beach and sunset stretching class. All wonderful for adults! The concierge team is very helpful too! We continue to look forward to each vacation we have there! Thanks to the entire team!
