It was my birthday on June 19th nothing special was done also was my wedding honeymoon since we never got to go on one cause I only get 2 weeks vacation on plant shutdown my wife twisted her ankle called to front desk twice for an ice pack finally after an hour and a half I walked down to the CVS to get an ice pack and a brace to put on it I was not very happy and probably won't stay at this place again when I go back.

Upon arrival our room where not ready. It was to early to check in but then we received a call telling us that our room was ready for checking and we didn't have to wait long and we were allow to check in early. I loved everything about this hotel and the people went above and beyond and I would recommend anyone this hotel and would love to stay there again.

Find Kevin Sanchez at the raw bar in the hotel lobby. Ask for the Lobster Roll(its not on the menu). The best roll I have ever had!!

Overall I was extremely satisfied with my hotel stay. I would have appreciated knowing ahead of time that I needed $200 room deposit. I had to use money I set aside for food as my room deposit. Also I would have liked my room to have been ready when I arrived. I wanted to shower and change but had to wait 2 hrs. After these initial issues everything else was great.

This property is very clean, pool is nice, staff are good. House keeping in the rooms, is marginal. Some days they did not come to clean. This property is a "hotel" feel not a "resort" feel. The area is, has a lot to do. Restaurants and bars are in walking distance.

My family and I stayed in many hotels however this beats them all. The hotel, location, staff , pool, lounge and the bar where unbeliveable. The cleanliness and the friendliness of staff and local people was great. I will stay there again and tell my family and friends to choose this hotel and applevactions if they plan to vacation in Puerto Rico.

We are going back for sure it was wonderful,Santos in check in was great:) we had the best room ever please get the corner room with beach view and city view cost a little extra but well worth it we were on the 11th floor. The bar was great the staff were always nice and hotel was very clean. The staff were very helpful as well.

Overall had a great trip, but my only concern was that on my itinerary it stated that with 2 adults and 3 or more night stay we would receive "complimentary breakfast" everyday and when I spoke with the hotel they said they could not do that, I had to take it up with Apple. So not sure what can be done at this point now that the trip is over - just wished the staff was a little more accomodating to our needs. Thank you.

Family vacation in San Juan prior to cruise

We had a Caribbean cruise departing from San Juan and decided to stay here on with Marriott/SPG points. We received an excellent beach/pool facing hotel room that had excellent views, our toddler would love to sit on the balcony while he drank his morning milk. The rooms were very large and comfortable, stylish and modern. The hotel rooms are fully equipped, they provide two free bottled waters a day but a good tip for people staying in this area is that there are two (24/7?) pharmacies just around the corner that you can buy food/water/juice/etc at local rates. The in hotel food tends to be on the pricier side and there are many other restaurants/pubs within walking distance. Hotel pools were excellent and refreshing with a water slide. There is also the public beach just beyond the pools but the Atlantic ocean was rough. The hotel is close enough to old town about a 10-15min taxi ride so close enough to spend your time exploring the touristy part but also far enough away to enjoy the quiet pools and beaches. Excellent service generally from all hotel staff.

(Updated) I want to thank Ibet Velez the “At Your Service Manager” for getting us switched to our preferred room type after the initial problems we had at check-in (see original review below). I’ll say again that it’s worth a call to the hotel to confirm your room type prior to arrival since there seems to be a disconnect between what the website shows and what the hotel personnel understand. Since we had the opportunity to stay in both a King w/roll-away and a 2 double I’ll add that if you have to use a roll-away this is not a bad option -- one of the most convenient roll-away’s I’ve used and a spot by the front door for storing it out of the way. We enjoyed the ground-level Cabana Lanai as it was convenient to access the pool by just walking out from the room. The sliding door takes a bit of muscle to open but is very soundproof so you can sleep through the noises of the many kids playing in the pool area. Lots of families with children here which I guess is not surprising given the water slide and nice pool facilities. Good pool options for adults too including a swim-up bar. The fitness room is well equipped and also nice to have tennis courts available. Overall a good experience but I'd expect better service for the price. The Condado area is a great area as well: - The nearby CVS actually has the best prices on alcohol, snacks, etc. - Restaurants we liked include Pannes, Cayo Caribe, Orrozco’s - Uber to Old San Juan is pretty cheap -- $7 one time and $14 during a more active time (check out the cruise ship schedules to try and time your visit to avoid all those extra people!) Airport notes: - Taxi is $20+ from airport to hotel (regulated rates based on distance, bags, and airport surcharge) - Don’t forget when flying back to U.S. to stop at the USDA baggage screening just inside the airport to get the green tags on your bags! ORIGINAL REVIEW I made the mistake of relying on technology to handle my reservation. Clearly, Marriott and the Bonvoy app are not yet up to the task. Booked an upgrade for the Cabana/Lanai room directly through the Marriott website. I saw the "King or 2 Doubles" in the description but could not find a way to indicate my preference so I assumed with 3 Adults indicated they would figure out I needed the 2 Doubles. Used the Bonvoy app to check in when they notified me that was available. When I showed up they had no keys ready (so much for mobile check-in) so went to the desk and was given a room on 7th floor. When I pointed out we had a reservation for a Lanai/Cabana room at pool level, was told they only had a King available. I asked to speak to the manager. After explaining I had done everything possible (other than call in person) to confirm my reservation the manager indicated they had no doubles available for the next 9 weeks. He offered us drinks at the bar while we waited for a King room and roll-away. I feel bad for my daughter since she was looking forward to having a vacation where she got to sleep in a "real" bed.

“5 Star” Location, Pools, Beach and Gym, Room was borderline “Average”

If it wasn’t for the room, this would be a 5 Star review. We loved the location. The pools were well maintained and enjoyable. The beach access and ability to play in the ocean were ideal. We even went to the gym, which was clean, fully equipped and safe. The room had a distinct smell, the pillows were awful. Upon initial entrance to the room, I kept thinking we had an issue with our toilet because I kept smelling something foul. I finally realized it was our pillows. The pillow covers were clean, but the pillows themselves smelled like they came out of an old storage, or they had been under water previously. I know there was some damage at this hotel from the hurricane, and being from Houston, I can sympathize with needing time to get everything back into shape, but I’m really hoping items like water damaged pillows were not salvaged, but simply thrown away. I don’t gamble, so I can’t comment on the casino. The surrounding area was filled with great restaurants and lots of foot traffic. We walked around at night and always felt safe. I would consider going back, but will likely ask to reserve one of the remodeled sections of the hotel.

Casino personnel are all extraordinary: very helpful. courteous and willing to make you fell at home. I had particularly the opportunity to meet Angelitza Castro, and Compliance Officer. This young lady is always ready to serve in a very lovely and tender way. I observed her dealing with other people and she was always willing to serve them in an excellent manner. Tha Marriott Stelaris Casino should be proud of having employees like Angelitza. She is, in my opinion, a goodwill ambassador representing Marriot Stellaris Casino.

The Bellstand Lead, Pedro De Jesus reacted very quickly and got security involved and helped in every way. He was very thorough and helpful. Went way above and beyond in providing service and help for this issue. Great job, he is an asset to the hotel!! As it turns out we had left this item while departing our ship
