A great get away for those who want to "chill"

The condos were perfect for our group. They were roomy and clean and close to the pool and beach. The beach is exceptional and the water is perfect! The staff, especially Sherman, Eddie and K Jay, were very helpful and friendly. We completely enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave. We would love to go back there every year!

Royal West Indies - Turks and Caicos Lush

The Hotel is surrounded by Sunshine and lush greenery. There are Palm trees at least 4 types, ferns and blooms even in January. The restaurant and bar are VERY pricey as are most restaurants on the island. We, most unusually as I've heard hit a patch of rainy weather that limited our activities. But my husband and I still wandered around Provo with our rented vehicle. The Conch Farm was also closed due to the hurricane last fall. The climate is to die for, absolutely perfect. All of the aches and pains we had from subzero temperatures in Wisconsin were gone. And the ocean is the most gorgeous aqua one has ever seen.

We enjoyed every second of our stay at the Royal West Indies. We stayed in an oceanview studio. It was clean and comfortable and had gorgeous views of the gardens and the ocean. We enjoyed happy hour every evening from 5-7, with all drinks half-priced. The bar would get pretty busy but we always found a place to sit. The beach was amazing! We were there in early August and it was never really busy. The maids did a wonderful job keeping our room clean and supplied with fresh towels. There were bikes, Hobie Cats, paddle boards, and kayaks that could be used for free in 30-minute increments. We loved reading by the "quiet pool." We will definitely go back!

There is very little negative to say about our trip. The value for the money allowed us to do more once there. The hotel staff was great, the whole island was one big welcome committee, everywhere we went people were so gracious. Even the other guest went out of their way to be nice. Not one bad thing happened during the entire visit.I will recommend this place and Apple vacations to everyone. We came for our 40 anniversary and were not disappointed.

The grounds and rooms of the hotel are beautiful. The resort is near the far end of Grace Bay, which meant things were quiet but we had a fair walk to get to other restaurants and shops. I'd recommend plenty of cash for taxis or just renting a car. The taxis charge per-person, so any group of more than two is definitely better off with a car rental. The casino is right next door, and the hotel offers $10 vouchers for $80-worth of drinks and chips at the casino. The service is very laid-back - they are happy to help, but not in a rush. The beach is lovely and the hotel provides beach gear for free.

The hotel was exactly what we had expected. Affordable clean and comfortable. The wifi worked great throughout the facility and the beach was outrageous. Check in and out was quick and overall we found the locals excellent. We never felt unsafe walking not having rented a car. Don't really feel one was necessary. Caicos Dream tours provided a great snorkeling trip

The hotel was great and very comfortable. Washer & dryers in rooms and they gave you one load of soap was a big bonus so we could pack much lighter. The food was very good and the hotel was in a perfect location with a great beach compared to the stretch of beach at Grace Bay. The only minor negative was the beach guys were somewhat hesitant to let the kayak and hobie cat out. You have to be very demanding to get them to get it in the water. Probably because most people use it and have no clue how to sail so I could understand their hesitation. Otherwise I would definitely stay there again. It in a perfect location.

We went to Turks & Caicos with high expectations of the Island but were not sure about the hotel. I can gladly say this hotel/resort was ABOVE our expectations! The staff was not only pleasant (Including Mr. Lopez who was very accommodating to all our needs) but the hotel was gorgeous. The pools were well maintained and the beach was breathtaking. I have already recommended 3 family and friends to the resort.

Wonderful 6-Night Stay at RWI
,
Wed Aug 08 16:12:33 EDT 2018
My boyfriend and I had an excellent 6-night stay at the Royal West Indies Resort (7/29-8/4/18). As one of the more "affordable" options in Providenciales, I was very apprehensive about staying at this resort with the idea stuck in my head that this resort would be "cheap". I am SO glad I was wrong - it was absolutely beautiful. We had room #712 (Studio Botanical) located on the ground floor of Unit 7. Our room was footsteps away from the hot tub and quiet pools which were swaddled by luscious foliage and tropical plants showcasing all colors of the rainbow. Every twist and turn throughout the property was worthy of a photo opp. Our room was not flashy, but it was spacious and clean. The full-size refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, toaster oven, and all the utensils and dishes that were provided were much appreciated as we stocked up on goodies and booze at the grocery store to save money and time. Perhaps the only thing we actually disliked about the room was the bed as it was a bit too firm and did not pair well with the sand that would inevitably make its way into the sheets no matter how well we rinsed off at the end of the day. We did not request room service every morning, but it was always good when we did. Service was also just that - good. I have read several reviews of certain employees that were particularly rude or annoyed with guests. However, if they exist, we never encountered them. Would I recommend Royal West Indies? Yes. Maybe RWI does not have all the luxuries of the more expensive resorts on Grace Bay, but I was so pleased with our overall stay, I couldn't see paying the price tag to stay at most of the other resorts we saw. It's that sparkling turquoise water that is the real superstar and we spent only short bursts of time in our room. We also found the lack of traffic (car, beach, and foot) that we experienced to be a major pro for this resort. I have several photos to go along with this review. If you choose to stay at Royal West Indies, I hope your stay is as perfect as ours.

DO NOT STAY HERE

I stayed here from August 4-8 with my husband 2 kids aged 3 and 4, and it was the worst experience ever. They gave us room 135 and when we got there my husband was laying down on the bed and kept saying that something was biting him. When he got up and looked on the bed there were biting ants all over the bed. After that we went to bath our smallest son and began to fill up the tub. When we started filling up the tub the water was filling up brown. It looked like someone had peed in the water. We could not bath our kids or even let them brush their teeth. Even the water at the pools were so cloudy and murky. It was so dirty. After informing the guest services about it they said that all their rooms were booked and they had no rooms to accommodate 4 people. We asked for a refund and would book another hotel. After about half an hour someone called us and said they had an ocean view room. We switched rooms to find the same problem With the water in the bath tub and sink. They gave us a room on the 3rd floor which made it difficult to carry a double stroller up the stairs every night. I would not recommend this hotel at all. It is very very dirty and their manager does not seem to care.

A smaller and more traditional island feel for Grace Bay at a better price

Really appreciated the smaller, low rise feel to this hotel -- and less expensive than the Miami Beach style towers along the beach beyond it. Had a nice room, with a pool/ocean view and full fridge, toaster and microwave for make breakfast and keep everything for a rum punch handy. Grocery store is a 20 minute walk as are some really good upscale restaurants. The beach is incredible -- 60 yards wide, beautiful powder white sand, and easy access in and out of a perfect temperature ocean. This hotel offers far more of a West Indies taste than the other larger resorts -- and we loved it. Yes, everything is pricey in the Turks and Caicos, but we found it quite reasonable and it exceeded our expectations.

Planning our 5th stay!

My husband and I love RWI resort. This is our 5th stay coming up in February. The first time we rented through the resort and the next rentals we did through private owners. We met a wonderful couple who showed us the ropes and took us around the island as we did not have a car the first time. Our very first trip it rained a lot but we just loved the resort atmosphere and the friendly people we had to go back, and we've been hooked ever since. The bar is nice and everyone recognizes us now each year and are very welcoming. It's not crowded which we love and it's our winter escape each year at a reasonable price. Towels and beach chairs are always available and the beach is just a few steps from the rooms. The beach is the best beach I've ever been to. Happy hour is a must with half price drinks each night. Lunch always delicious at the bar. We tend to stay away from the actual restaurant as the service is not as good as the bar and there are so many wonderful restaurants on the island to try..the restaurant is mediocre. We've stayed in building 3,1,5. We've had the studio and the 1 bedroom. Both are nice. The studio is really all my husband and I need. We usually eat breakfast in our room. Book reservations ahead of time for restaurants as the best ones do book up. Coco Bistro is a must restaurant practically across the street but book reservations at least a month or more in advance.

My husband and I went here for our birthdays this year. We chose it because of the decent reviews and some of the lowest prices in T&C. I would say we were 90% satisfied with this place. Like some other reviews that I've read, the food options were very limited. I'm a vegetarian and literally ate the veggie egg rolls like 4 meals because I didn't have many choices. The drinks were ok, but super overpriced. Expect to spend $10-$15 per mixed drink. The grounds were covered with the most beautiful foliage. The pools were well maintained and quiet. The beach was PERFECT. We don't go to tropical resorts for the pools- we go for the beach and we were extremely pleased at their beach. Clean sand, quiet beachgoers, gorgeous water (the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life) and always a lounge chair available-most with beach umbrellas. We went to Jamaica, the year before and were SO disappointed by how much we were HECKLED by people as we laid on the beach- even with a security guard deterring them. We never felt safe and we could never relax. The Royal West Indies was the exact opposite. We often fell asleep on the beach. NO ONE approached us as we laid on the beach and we felt extremely safe. I recommend going to the local grocery store and getting your breakfast foods to save money from going to their restaurant. Other than that, I definitely, for the price recommend this place for your T&C vacation.
