We stayed here Aug 28 th for 2 weeks we’ve stayed 4 times before ...Staff are friendly and helpful . The room was kept lovely and clean by housekeeping The ocean views are Amazing from most rooms at no premium cost ..The buffet restaurant this time was not up to usual standards. The options were limited and food was running out by 8.15pm although the Dining room was open until 9.30pm ! Never experienced this at the hotel before We have always loved the food here and there were so many options to choose from so we were very disappointed. We ate out quite a lot which was fun BUT not what you want when you have paid for all inclusive .. We went to Doctors cave beach one day which is a beautiful public beach just blocks along from the hotel ..You pay to use the beach and to hire a sunbed but it’s worth it as it’s kept so lovely with shower room facilities Starbucks coffee a Restaurant and waitress service for drinks on the beach They have an extensive cocktail menu .. Next Door to the hotel is tracks & records Ussain Bolts sports bar & restaurant serving very good Jamaican food. Overall we love Jamaica and have lots of lovely memories at this hotel But this visit the dining experience was not great. We told management how we felt and they were very helpful and understanding

Loved it!

Enjoyed the small resort and exceptional service. The people are amazing. Food and drinks were great. There is no time like Jamaica time, no worries. The entertainment was wonderful as well, families were welcome and children enjoyed themselves.

Solid three star.

I visited beginning of September. This is generally hurricane season so the hotel was maybe 40% occupied. At this time there a few thunderstorms but it was still warm. The ocean was warm. Here are postives: Room spacious upgrade to ocean view because of low occupancy. Grounds kept clean Short journey to airport Security kept peddlers at bay Ocean was warm and beautiful Most of the staff offered friendly service, not as attentive as cuba or other places but not as pushy as dominican republic. The entertainment shows were well choreographed Gym overlooks ocean but it's very small and v. Basic No single supplement -best thing for solo traveler. Negatives (room for improvement ) Bathroom dated and toilet didn't flush properly Pillows smelled; not thoroughly washed The stretch of beach is very very short and narrow. No running or long walks. In peak times I imagine it gets really crowded! The food was ok. Just ok. Not a great deal of choice (and I am not fussy) The drink choice is basic. I don't drink but friends said low quality. Some of staff had conversations among selves leaving guests waiting to be served. No access to drinking water. Water in Room rarely topped up. Should have filter on bar for convenience. The WiFi is not free and slow. All in all this was my 4th trip to Jamaica. It was most basic hotel for comparable price. The hotel was a three star not more. For the price paid in low season it was fair. I would not choose this hotel in high season and pay extra. Probably would not stay here again. *Sorry for any typos...

If your money is funny this is the place... BEWARE.. you get what you pay for!

I’m absolutely disgusted I don’t know where to start.. Since I’m starving.. I will start there.. The food is HORRIBLE... I’ve been to MBJ at least 25 times and I’ve never been at an all-inclusive resort— where you have absolutely NOTHING... and I do mean NOTHING to eat.. there’s not enough selection on the buffet.... did I say buffet?? It’s more like a continental breakfast... it’s a joke.. the bacon is always burnt— I don’t know if someone told the cook that Americans like burnt bacon/ because it’s been burnt every single day!! I will say the banana cream juice is pretty good.. but I cannot survive off that alone. Since we are traveling with a group— everyone’s finacial situation isn’t the same... so we are forced to stay here.. otherwise I would move to another resort.. FAR FAR AWAY!! The entertainment is decent— for an older crowd. (And I do mean senior citizens)The staff look like they hate to be here as much as I do. NOT friendly at all.. The rooms are very spacious so that is a plus, if you like sleeping on an ironing board— my back hurt so bad. I did mention maybe getting the mattress changed but the front desk clerk suggested that I put a comforter under the sheets to give the bed some softness..Today is day 3 and also the first day I’ve had face towels in the room. My ocean view room is blocked by a tree. My bathroom has tons of mold/ mildew built up..(hence: the property is outdated) I smell no chlorine in the pool AT All.. although they assured that me it’s being used.. the drinks are a waste.. I didn’t come to get drunk— but I would like a small buzz.. We literally had to go get drinks at the liquor store.. Watching TV in my room has been the best entertainment on this property— and i don’t even watch tv..Please whatever you do bring your OWN cups— they are NOT washing these cups/ OR glasses around here.. You have to pay $20 a day for WiFi or $5 for 30 minutes. You also have to pay $2 a day for the use of the safe.. They have a club on property— the DJ was excellant last night— however it was just The DJ, me and my husband. O God.. let me not forget the mosquitos!! JESUS CHRIST— I may have to get a blood transfusion once I make it back to the states— the mosquitoes are SOOOO DISRESPECTFUL.. I’ve used over a half a can of OFF.

Great place for couples, potentially great for families

I really liked staying here with my hubs and my daughter. The accomodations were clean, everyone was so nice, and the scenary is just breath-taking. We were close to the Hip Street, 5-mins from the airport, and the food was not bad (there were many options). This is not a luxury place, the rooms are a old (but clean), and the lobby could use a touch of glamour, but as I mentioned, everything is clean and when there is a problem, the reception is very fast to respond (we had a broken chain link in our toilet which was fixed within the hour). I would suggest investing in children's areas (the playground was off limits), although I wonder if I would have seen them if I had traveled during more traditional US summer school times. Everyone was so friendly to my daughter, I was surprised not to see more kid-oriented activities. The one incident I found annoying was the excessive noise from the beach party. Some background info: a toddler exhausted by 930 pm usually means two exhausted parents too, which would have loved to keep partying but couldnt physically do it, thus needed instead a relaxing night. As we were staying in the third floor of a beach front area, we heard everything: loud songs, rowdy partiers, screaming, etc. I have no problem with this (in facts, I was a bit jealous), but like myself, I imagine others might have appreciated more quiet. If possible, I suggest moving the beach party to another area, or toning the volume down. For the future, I would probably not choose this area of the hotel if Im travelling with my daughter (if I am with friends, then it'll be my first choice).
