Great Vacation with our Granddaughters!

My daughter is a RUI fan and booked this All-Inclusive resort for a spring break holiday with our grand-daughters, ages 3 and 6. We went along to spend time with all of them. What a great vacation we had! First of all, they booked this RUI because it was kid friendly. There were activities the girls attended which they loved. At night, there was a kids show before the adult show they went up in stage and participated in. The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms very clean. Food was very good; however, if you want to eat at the steak restaurant, you will need to get there early, as they do not take reservations and the number of tables is very small. We had to wait almost 45 minutes before we were able to be seated. We did not go to all the evening shows while we were there, but did see the Elvis show, which was good. With your bracelet you will be able to visit some of the other RUI resorts in the area. We walked to two others for the lunch buffet one day. Across the road is a shopping market. We took the girls one afternoon to get braids with beads put in their hair, price was very reasonable. We did have to arrange for transportation from the Cancun airport, came to approx. $46 per person round trip. The pools were great, beach was beautiful with the blue water, but there was a lot of seaweed along the water's edge. The only negative thing I will say about this hotel is that there is no shampoo or conditioner in the room. There is a dispenser in the shower that says soap/shampoo, it is really just soap that will not make suds in your hair. I asked at the front desk for shampoo, they did not have anything different. be sure you bring your own. All in all a very nice place we would definitely go back to.

Above and beyond

My family, me and husband (to be) stayed for wedding weekend. The staff really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay and to give us a great wedding dinner. The whole weekend anytime we saw them they always wanted to know how we were enjoying ourselves. The hotel has recently been remodeled and I think it has been my favorite stays to date at a RIU and we have stayed at the palace's as well so that's saying something. The pools are probably my favorite they are saline and with my 5 month old we were really able to enjoy the pools without all the crazy chemicals! Also I found the food to be really good, we ate most nights at the buffet(easier with 5 month old in tow), buy it has a great selection and honestly enjoyed it a lot. Thank you to all the staff and especially Elena and Philiberto.

We went begin april 2017 and it was great! The people of the hotel were very helpfull and friendly. From the reception, to the bar tenders, animation people, cleaning service... for us a A+!!! The entire hotel was also very clean. The room was beautiful and very clean. Animation was FANTASTIC! Food was super. We had a lot of choise and it was also very hygienic. 5 th Avenue was like 5 min away with the taxi and it was 90 pesos. The beach beautiful. We dont have any negatif point to say about this hotel.

Myself, husband and 2 children (aged 4 & 1) have recently returned from a 11 night stay at this hotel. It is modern, clean and tidy. We upgraded to a junior suite and we weren't disappointed- the staff rang us to check we were happy with our room. Check in was swift and our suitcases were taken straight to our room. Food was varied and plentiful- plenty for our son also who can be a fussy eater. Pools lovely and clean and a nice temperature- plenty of sun beds around pool and on beach- no need whatsoever to reserve any as even at 10/11am still lots available. They brought round trays of cocktails, soft drinks, iced coffee around pool area all day- if they didn't have what u would like on tray then they would take your order and bring you whatever drink you like. All staff friendly and went out of their way to ensure you had an enjoyable holiday. Our 4 year old used the kids club and the staff there were lovely and made him very welcome and came around pool to find him to ask if he wanted to join in whatever activity there were doing next- lots of different activities for the kids throughout the day- was good to get him out of the sun for a bit. Beach is absolutely gorgeous and literally a stones throw away from the pools. Air conditioning worked very well, rooms cleaned to a good standard. Mini bar in room restocked every other day with soft drinks and beer- optics in room of vodka, gin, rum and tequila! Shopping centre across the road and Playa del Carmen town a 20 min walk or a 5 min taxi ride which cost 90 pesos. Evening entertainment was good and our son enjoyed mini disco which was on beforehand. Cocktails are lovely! So much choice! We realised at Cancun airport that we had left our babies carrier in our room- we contacted the hotel when we returned home and they were very helpful in locating it. Only thing that could maybe be added to the room is tea & coffee making facilities- doesn't really bother us but I know some people like a tea or coffee as soon as they wake up. Also if you have a pushchair or mobility problems request a group floor room as there are no lifts at this hotel. We were on the second floor so it did mean carrying the pushchair up 2 flights of stairs which wasn't too bad but could of been a struggle had we been on the 3rd floor! We had a fabulous holiday and will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel!

Nice vacation

There were just as many pros as there were cons. The beach was one of the best we’ve seen in Mexico. The room was great with a spectacular ocean view, but there wasn’t a coffeemaker or any clocks. The shower only had a half wall and the water always sprayed thru the window leaning into the room or the bathroom. (Usually both) There were three pools but they were all within yards of each other and they weren’t very big. Speaking of the swim up bar, the service was incredible. As busy as it was, you never waited too long. But, there are kids at the resort, and that pool wasn’t adults only. Kids were allowed to run free including on the tops of the marble table tops to jump into the water. There is a buffet and four restaurants only the Asian we learned was also a buffet. (And not very good.) The food was pretty good although the menus are limited and there is little change in the buffet daily. The 24-hour snacks were never filled. When we got there three nights all that was left were salads with oil and vinegar. All of the sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs are nachos were empty. They cook burgers near the pool with the swim up bar, but the meat had a taste and texture of meatloaf. We had a ‘nice’ vacation but it is not a place we will return to.
