Nice place. The staff is excellent and entertaining. My only con would be they only serve draft beer at the bars, if it wasn’t a big deal!

There was a lack of help from the people of Majestic. As far as representing Apple you should do better. Got no information about the hotel. All they wanted to do was sell excursions that's it

Hotel lobby smelled of sewage. Emergency alarms went off first 4 nights of our stay. Beach was full of people trying to sell clothing, jewelry, and drugs

The best quality was the beach

I would give the RIU Bahamas a 6 out of 10. The resort was on the small side and the service wasn't very forthcoming. Maybe the culture isn't as friendly as in other countries? An example is when I called for room service and they didn't answer, I called the front desk. They said keep trying, that they couldn't do anything...not I'll check, or anything like that. Again it's a small resort. 1 building. Anyway, the food was more limited. I've been to the RIU in Cabo and there were more choices...especially for room service (they didn't offer eggs). Standing in line for dinner instead of taking reservations was a hassle. The rooms were cleaned so-so. I noticed, they didn't clean the showers. The beach location was awesome though. We walked over to Atlantis and their beach was not a fine and the water was choppier. Our room was nice. The bed was firm but not too much, but the pillows were small and not very good. The entertainment was also lackluster. The gym was small and could use more weights. We did not use any of the spa services because they were way over-priced. Like double the US. Lastly, no bar beach service.

Where to start! I never wanted to return home! The hotel staff at the front desk , bars, and restaurants were very friendly! I will definitely be booking another vacation to the Bahamas and to Riu palace ! The Thursday pool party is very fun and the activities included were a great way to meet more people and have fun too ! The bartenders were great and always quick! We were very pleased with the hotel and staff all together. It was a beautiful hotel and I love the options given for places to eat!

We were impressed with the cleanliness; the housekeeping staff was excellent, most of the staff was friendly, excluding the front desk staff who were indifferent. The dinner reservation policy was deplorable. If you wanted to have a spot for dinner, you are required to line up an hour before opening for a chance to get one of maybe two seatings. There was no way to take your time, enjoy the vacation and eat when you wanted, and were forced to only go to the buffet, which was only fair in foos quality. Only four restaurants and one was closed one night. ???? Ridiculous. This is the only hotel in all my years of travelling that did not offer a customer desk to check in for flights and print boarding passes. Maybe the only hotel in the world. I was told that my only choice was to use my personal device, forward the e-mail, and then they might print boarding passes for me. My personal device is a company device which I amnot able to use out of country, so I was forced to be at the airport early for check in and boarding passes. Highly inconvenient. We will not return.

The hotel staff was very rude didn’t care if you were there or not the pool was very disappointing small no entertainment everything shut down at 7 o’clock it was just a very disappointing vacation to me it was like a holiday inn would not recommend Hotel ..I feel that everything was based around Atlanta if you wanted to do anything you had to go there... The food was the same thing for seven days nothing different sometimes when you went down for breakfast there wasn’t any thing left no matter what time you went there it was overall just disappointing .... all the staff mentor They act like you were a bother to just get ice from them everyone was in a rush customer service just was not there ... i’ve stayed at the RIU every vacation this by far was the worst the best one that I’ve ever stayed at was in Costa Rica ....

RIU Palace Paradise Island was very clean. The staff was beyond friendly and extremely willing to accommodate our needs. The food was delicious, and the drinks were great. The pools were really nice, and the beach was beyond beautiful. The location was very convenient because it was right next to Atlantis, giving us easy access to the Casino and Marina village. Additionally, RIU is a short cab ride from downtown and the straw market. Cabs are located right in front of the hotel, always there for your convenience. Next time we visit the Bahamas, we will definitely stay at RIU.

Most of the staff make it feel like an inconvenience to serve you, they have no consideration for time and often will take a plate without asking if you are finished. We had a issue with our room at check in and instead of an apology, they rushed us to decide on the new room. There was a sewage break right out side the front doors that just sat untouched for our entire stay and the smell was in the lobby the emit week, they did not even block off the areas to keeps guests from passing through there. We did enjoy the location and had fun on several excursions, but would not recommend this hotel to others.

Our room was the family suite which I thought would be one big suite but instead it was a smaller suite with and adjoining room as the 2nd bedroom. The suite had the pretty black/white/purple decor as in the photograph on the website but the adjoining room was not and was more standard burgandy hotel decor. There was a strong smell of must/mold in the lobby area and the smell of the cleaning products used in the room was a very stong pine sol type scent. There was an ocean view from our room and it was beautiful but we were also over the giant air conditioning unit so we never had any quiet time to be able to hear the crashing of the waves. The bathroom sink had the faucet opposite of what it was marked. The cold side was hot and the hot side was cold. The light switch was broken but was useable. We ended up having dinner at the buffet all but once because there are no reservations allowed at the fine dining restaurants and we were unwilling to stand in line for an hour prior to the opening time hoping we would get a spot. Alcohol was not top shelf and there were no top shelf options available. What they did serve VERY watered down. So much so that in the 5 days we were there, I drank all day and never once even felt tipsy. Entertainment was sparse but we were there more for relaxation so that wasn't a deal breaker. Service was good but the service staff attitudes/friendliness was hit or miss. Outside bartenders were not at all friendly but the sports bar staff was much better. The best/friendless service was provided by the front desk/check-in team, room attendants, dinner service in the buffet area, the entertainers in the evening in the sports bar, and the bellmen. This hotel is literally right next to Atlantis so we walked over there once evening and I will say that the Atlantis was chaos comparatively speaking. Huge, loud and lots of kids/families roaming. I definitely preferred the vibe of Riu to Atlantis. The ocean water was perfection but the sand was littered with cocktail straws and cigarette butts. I never saw it scraped for small trash once but there was never any actual trash like cups laying around. Overall I personally was disappointed with this hotel and will try a different one next time. I thought I was paying for the top of the line at this hotel but it didn't feel exceptional. Another guest did tell me that Riu was once of the better hotels in the Bahamas but said Sandals was superior so I will look into that one. Overall I would say this hotel is average from what I expected.

this hotel was nothing like we had thought it would be. It smelled like sewage when we first walked in. The bar was not clean & service was poor. The rooms are nothing like the pictures on line. The pool closes at 6, I thought this was a resort in the islands?? No entertainment at this resort. The only restaurant we could eat at was the buffet, we were turned away from the Steakhouse, they told us they had already hit their limit for the day?? Really?? The coffee shop doesn't open till 10. The 2nd day we were there, found a baby tadpole swimming in our toilet. Maybe this can explain the sewage smell in the lobby?? I have booked several vacations with Don Branam & Apple Vacations, pleased with the agent, and will continue to book with Don. I just will not go back to this resort or recommend it. We were very disappointed in this one.

If you like steamy bathrooms with inadequate ventilation, birds diving at your food at the outdoor "jerk" bar, a rat watching you eat breakfast through a window to the garden, No water sport amenities whatsoever, No computer facilities, overcrowded look and beach areas, the RIU BEACH RESORT HOTEL is for you. Rather than really solving problems, the staff and it's associates, TRAVEL IMPRESSIONS are experts in "pass it the buck". Unless you only want to eat and drink yourself to death and dance and sing around the pool with the staff, do NOT come to RIU.

Don’t stop at the negative reviews!!

After filtering through hundreds of reviews of this resort, having never been to a RIU Resort, despite being world travelers, we booked a week at this resort from Feb 3rd to Feb 10th, 2019. Our first impression was positive and we wondered why people had submitted so many negative reviews. After several days at the resort, we were still wondering why the reviews were negative. We believe some of the feedback could have been more specific to perhaps suggested improvements as we do agree there were some things that could be improved. We found some reviews to allocate poor ratings of the entire resort potentially based on being disappointed or annoyed by one or two issues. So, moving forward:- Yes there are pros and cons to the no reservation system for the A la Carte’s. However, it is still about choice and priorities. We chose to make the best of our days by the pool which meant eating most evenings at the buffet. We found the food to be very good and there was sufficient choice. We ate one night earlier at the Japanese, and were in line by 5.35 pm to be seated at 6pm. Service was excellent and food very good, no complaints at all. There were a couple of larger groups that consumed much of the seating therefore it reduced the availability for mostly groups of 3 or 4. It was easier for couples to be seated. However, those who did not make the first seating were issued pagers and as soon as there was a free table they were paged and seated right away. The music was pretty loud but great tunes and the animation team were confident, entertaining but not pushy. There is only one bar in the evening and it is loud in there for sure, but you can take your drink to the lobby or outside to beat the loud music if that is an issue for you. Another advantage is having the option of a liquor dispenser in our room. We appreciated that and more importantly, it was nice to be treated as an adult allowing you to relax in your room or your balcony and have a drink without having to hang out in the bar. Options are always a good thing!! The beach was good to walk but not the most calm for swimming while we were there. We compared it to the likes of Roatan Honduras, a tough one to beat! We found the staff to be friendly in all areas and willing to assist as needed. The resort was spotless in every area, from the lobby to our rooms, lobby washrooms and pool washrooms. Some of the cleanest we have seen and we have traveled extensively in the Caribbean and other parts of the world. The close proximity to Atlantis for those who wish to visit is very convenient. It is literally a 3 minute walk to the rear door to Atlantis and then maybe a 10 minute walk to the marina shops and casino. We would recommend to friends while providing them with our feedback on specific items so that they knew what they should expect, but this adult only resort got a plus check mark from us and we would return.

I go away with a group of women every year. We came here last year (Feb 2018) and had a BLAST! We decided to come again this year (Jan 2018). We had a good time, but we found that the food went down hill. The music at the pool bar sucks now (it used to be top 40 and now it's generic latin music). The entertainment staff are the highlight---they are incredible dancers and make sure everyone is having a great time. I would go back just to hang with them again, but on everything else I would take a pass.

RIU over Atlantis

I had a conference to attend at Atlantis in the Bahamas and I planned to take my wife. I had a limited budget and after reading reviews I was concerned that the food was not included at Atlantis and that it is very expensive and I would surely go over budget. After reading reviews for Atlantis I decided to look at RIU. The all inclusive deal is great. The hotel is next door to Atlantis. It is adults only. We liked the food. Pool was nice, beach chairs next to beautiful water. We had a great time. We took a few excursions to Stuart Cove and rose Island which were great. Very safe area. Would stay here again. More bang for the buck.
