The hotel has 4 restaurants that your able to dine at, however everytime we tried to eat at the specialty Restaurants they were always booked or they were done taking anymore customers. One of the restaurants literally had only 10 tables in there. We had to eat at the same restaurant everyday we were there Nd was the same food. The hotel was kind of boring for my son. Last year we stayed at the Dreams Aventura in Riviera Maya and the staff was very friendly and u were always greeted upon departure and arrival.

Hotel really was great for spring break. The beach was awesome and so was the pool. The size of resort being large, it felt small. Rooms need a updating. Bathroom needs better lighting. But shower worked very well! I think SPA needs updating and better services, needs a better set up when doing services. The changing area needs seating and ammenitities and the rooms where you get a massage need sheets not towels to lay on and the massage needs to be a REAL massage, not a rub by untrained staff who do a less than fair job. Had a HUGE problem with housecleaning! HUGE PROBLEM! They came daily however, we noticed the dirty towels we left on the floor to be replaced, they folded and put back as new! We had very dirty, bloody towels from a cut, and they put them back folded! This happened multiple days. Even pillow cases that got very dirty, never replaced! Disappointed and I would share this with future ppl looking to go because it was awful. On a good note, the entertainment was incredible at night. GREAT job to those hard working entertainers! They were a highlight most nights! Restaurants on the property were good. Buffet was great. Impressed by food for being an all inclusive resort. Service at beach and pool was great. Pool and beach were very clean. Easy to find chairs at both for it being a full house at spring break.

The hotel was very nice! Where my problem comes in is we paid extra for a Jr suite with an ocean view. I get it that the trees will grow...BUT the rooms that they obscure the view, DON'T CHARGE EXTRA!!! I feel we should be refunded the extra we paid.

We had stayed at Riu Palace Pacifico about 5-years and thought it was a good location to try two weeks. We book an Ocean view Junior suite for the added space a two week trip might justify. Our initial room was not a Ocean view and we brought this back to the front desk before we unpacked. We had to spend the first night there and were moved the next day. We had to checkout by 11 and did not receive our new room until after 3. Our new room 4039 had the promised view. The patio had only 1 chair which I called the front desk about and they said that there were none available. One appeared on about our 10th day. There was a floor lamp next to the loveseat, except the outlet was not there, the wiring was there, just no outlet, open wires. The wall lamp opposite had a burned out bulb, also repaired about 10 days in. Overall the food and dining options were good. The beach was nice for that part of the bay. The staff was professional and were very nice. It seems that the Palace is showing the signs of its age and use and overall is poorer condition than 5 years ago, but still ok. I would say it is slightly over priced for everything we experienced.

Overall the Riu Palace was great. Room was on 1st floor so it had a slightly musty smell but the convenience of using the stairs over the 2 elevators that were available. There were not enough pillows on the bed and the ones provided were small and hard. We did receive more pillows on request. Pool showed wear & tear but was nice and never seemed crowded. Food in buffet restaurant was very good and there were many choices at all 3 meals. Service at the buffet was excellent. The only comment I have is that the wine in the restaurants and bars was not consistent. There was a red wine that we liked but it was not available everywhere. The whiskey selection was sub par but it is an all inclusive place. I would like to see an option to upgrade the wine & liquor selection. Thank you

The hotel did not have rest rooms in the lobby. There was only one rest room for all the restaurants and the pool area and lobby. They were not close by and need stairs or a ramp to access.

Our Family Won't Stay Here Again

If you are looking for an all-inclusive trip to Mexico that includes great food, amazing rooms and exciting entertainment-then Riu Palace is NOT the best option. Our family came down to the Riu for a week long get away. We paid for the Junior Suite with an ocean view. The pictures on the website were really misleading and nothing like what was advertised. Here is the breakdown: Room The Balcony had a totally obstructed view of the ocean. In fact, it was so far away that you had to squint to actually see the beach. I’ve included an image. If you have small children, beware of the glass table tops on the furniture. Each piece of furniture has very sharp, pointed glass corners. I can’t stress enough how dangerous this can be. Just one fast brush up against the glass and there can be a serious injury. There is also a small 2- step stair that leads from the sleeping area, into the living room. I fell down these stairs one night and nearly broke an ankle. And no, I wasn’t drinking. The bathroom is ridiculous. You have to step over a two-foot high wall just to get into the tub. Please see photos. All and all the room was not convenient or safe. Room Service I thought the staff did a good job keeping the room clean. We did leave a small tip each morning for house-cleaning. One of the days they did not clean our room. Perhaps they forgot about us. Not a big deal, as we are pretty clean people. We found that if you leave at least $5.00, they will make available extra water and coffee. Food The restaurants are mediocre compared to other all-inclusive resorts I’ve experienced. The coffee you get in the room is nasty. It’s not very strong and won’t add pep to your step. The buffet serves up the same old food daily. For example, breakfast was pretty much all the same. Don’t get me wrong, the food tasted good. The lack of variety was the letdown. Dinner buffets were really delicious. They cooked fresh shrimp, fish and even lobster. I also thought the wait staff was on top of their game. Overall, I’d give the food a 7 out of 10. Pool/Activities Probably the biggest disappointment at Riu Pacifico is the pool. It’s not large and grand like the photos online. Instead, it’s just a simple pool, with a swim up bar. The pool is just there, under a hot sky. The bottom of the pool was starting to come up and needed work. No kiddie slides for children. The kiddie pool is a paltry-swim whole with nothing else. The bathroom is a long walk away from the pool, near one of the buffets. By day two, we were bored to death. There is literally not much to do except the following: Drink Eat Go to Beach Watch Show at Night. I wish RIU would please think about entertainment for families a little more. How about having some shows that are kid centered? The Riu is nice place for senior citizens to visit. There is nothing wrong with a resort with an older crowd. If you have a family, especially with kiddies, then I would not recommend this hotel. There are just too many other resorts out there that will provide a fun time for your entire family.

Great stay

We visited the Riu Palace Pacifico middle of April and we had a great stay but we both got some sort of 12 hour bug vomiting. Not sure if it was the food or something else. The A’la carts were mediocre

Just returned from 2 week holiday at this fabulous hotel. Service, food and friendly staff were 1st rate. The animation team were amazing and put on some great evening entertainment as well as working hard to entertain guests daily by the pool. The rooms were cleaned daily with some very clever towel displays left on the bed. Puerto Vallarta well worth a visit and try pipis for some great Mexican food, if you like a good cocktail try senore frogs, very entertaining staff👍 Just love the Mexican people, so friendly and obliging. Would certainly go back. Fabulous.

We've stayed at this resort three times now. Our most recent trip was booked with the ocean view suite with patio spa tub. The room was very large and the balcony was big enough to have a huge party! It was very nice to be able to spread out, enjoy the view and take an evening dip in the tub. The RIU Palace brand never disappoints us. We really enjoy all of the nice restaurants and the Buffet is top notch. One of the things we enjoy at the RIU is the room fridge and bar. They do a great job keeping it stocked. This RIU has a 24 hour bar in the lobby with fresh coffee's, a fridge with hamburgers, hotdogs, fruit and a few other things. They have several games you can also play. You can travel with confidence to this resort.

We will be back!

April 2019 girls trip for four ladies with high-stress careers. Our goal: no stress, no decisions and to be pampered. This goal was immediately realized at Hotel Riu Palace Pacifico! The proximity of the pool to the ocean was perfect. The entire property was amazingly clean. The staff was fantastic, we loved being treated like royalty by Ricardo on the veranda for breakfast and lunch. The buffet was extensive and we did not tire of our choices. We also enjoyed the other restaurants available for dinner. We enjoyed massages on the beach and two of crew treated ourselves to the spa services at the hotel. Note the massages and spa services are additional costs, but for our trip, well worth the cost. We spent a little extra money for an ocean view and it was worth it to us. We had a junior suite with two double beds, a small sitting area and a small balcony. The mini fridge was well stocked and re-stocked every day. We drank the water at all restaurants and loved being able to do that! We walked the beach every morning and felt very safe in doing so. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets at night. There was a meal provided near the pool/swim up bar/beach area at lunch, so you did not even have to leave the area if you didn't want to. While we were there, there were quite a few families, and the more shallow end of the pool got very busy with them. Overall, this was not an issue for us, but worth mentioning. I will definitely visit the Riu Palace again, and hope to share it with others.
