The front desk was probably the least impressive part of the hotel. They really didn't care that we were there, not very helpful, and not responsive to a running toilet.

I think it is important to note our travel situation. We have a 6 month old and 22 month old. A little hiccup at the airport in not having us on the list for transportation, however that was easily rectified by the onsite staff and a couple Pacifico's. We arrived earlier than check-in so took some time to get lunch and tour the hotel. As we've done Apple trips before, we didn't check in with the onsite Rep. The restaurants didn't take reservations but you better be there right at opening or risk not getting in at all. We only ate at the buffet for breakfast, sometimes lunch and once for dinner. I found it to have great selection and friendly staff catering to us and the kids. Our favorite restaurants were the Steakhouse and Japanese. Staff was wonderful at both and engaged with our two boys. The food was very nice and large portions. Steakhouse puts out a nice New York and the salmon was really good! The bar staff was engaging and very friendly. They knew their drinks and appreciate the tips (brings good service as well!!). The drinks are quite weak so just ask for muy fuerte. Our room had a king size and a sitting area with couch, as well as balcony with view to the ocean. We used up all the space with the 2 provided pack and plays, our stroller and luggage. since the hurricane went through about a year ago, you will find the accommodations to be new and modern. All the amenities worked well, our refrigerator had plenty of water, coke, 7up, Dos Equis and soda water. Each room has a dispenser with a bottle of Jose, Smirnoff, Gin and Brandy. Our days consisted of breakfast, playing on the beach, lots of pool time, kids napping on the chaise lounge while mom and dad took advantage of the bar and wait staff, more pool time, getting ready for dinner and dinner. Our eldest did stay up late enough a few nights where I could take him to the shows. The first part was catered to kids and he enjoyed participating or watching. There were a lot of kids around and he liked to play with his "friends". There is a water park but we found the water at the kids park to be freezing and our 22 month old thought the slides were just a bit too big. I did try the adult park slides and the speed slides were awesome! In all, this is a 4 out of 5 star resort. Very family friendly. The staff is excellent. The view is perfect and has a large beach out front. Food is solid with plenty of options. Take care of the staff and they will take care of you.

I have stayed at a Riu Palace in Cancun, so I was expecting about the same. However, it was not even close to the same level of customer experience. No drinks at check in, food was just ok, bartenders were not as attentive, shower glass leaked all over floor, just lots of little things that shouldn't have been there. Both of us also didn't feel quite right the entire vacation. Not sure if it was something they cooked with or in the ice, but something was definitely wrong. We will not return to this hotel. In addition, I have complaints about Apple Vacations. I was going to write a letter but hope this will satisfy and I receive some follow-up. First, the airfare was AeroMexico operated by Delta. I called Apple 2 days prior to the trip to confirm how I should fill out the online Immigration papers. I was told to use the AeroMexico flight information. Well that was wrong, so Immigration was irritated. Next we get out to meet the Amstar rep, Carlos. He says will be a few minutes because we are waiting for 4 people of the same plane and then he will put us on the shuttle. 10 minutes later he sticks us on a bus. My transportation was supposed to be on a 6-12 person shuttle. I complained and was told I was the second stop and the bus was it. Well I was the forth stop and it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to the hotel. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! Then we get there and no welcome, no drinks at or hotel or on bus, no communication on what to expect, started off not very good. I talked to the Amstar rep and the hotel and she did nothing. I talked to her the next day to confirm the departure transportation and still nothing done. She also told us Lovers Beach was closed and tried to sell us a boat tour for $100. Yet when we walked the beach we found taxi service, boat tour and drop off at Lovers Beach for $40. I feel I was lied to multiple time by 3 different Amstar reps. Furthermore this is no way a 6 Golden Apple resort. Get rid of the golden and just go to apple ratings. This is a 4 star / 4 apple only resort. Nothing special, but still good.

Good food and bars. There's not much to the entertainment and the maid service/mini-bar stocking are comically slow. However, Cabo San Lucas is beautiful and the swim up bars are great.

This resort is just too big!! The coziness just wasn’t there. There was no entertainment worth going to watch everything was in the Santa Fe. We love the evening shows so was very disappointed in that. Don’t get me wrong we had a great time otherwise!!

Each room looked out at the ocean. It was beautiful. The only complaint that I have, is that they did not leave wash cloths in the rooms. I had to request these. But other than that, it was great.

Disappointed honeymooners
ROBERT E.
Oct 31 2018
Very Disappointed that when we arrived they had no clue we were there on our honeymoon even though we booked a honeymoon plus package. They said unless you do the wedding here we really don't know about it and then blamed Apple for not letting them know. Upon arrival we tried calling the front desk for over 20 minutes and eventually had to just walk down and talk with them as no one answered. Also, we were supposed to have $700 ++ in resort credits and when I asked they said no but ok, we will give you these coupons. Talk about deceiving. Also, the shower in our room flooded our entire room due to extremely slow drainage. They offered to move us but to a room that wasn't even half of what we ordered, so instead we had to leave the room for 3 plus hours and wait for them to clean it. We visited another property while down in Cabo and the service and quality compared to Riu was 10x what Riu was. In no way should this location have 6 golden apples. Service, quality of food, rooms were just not up to par or what we were expecting considering you give the same value to le blanc which was amazing. I will not be going back to this property and not 100% sure about apple at this time since the rating was so far off. As well as being directed to contact customer service when I got home instead of my booking agent helping me when I emailed her.

Beautiful Resort and friendly Staff

I was here January 3-10th with a group of about 60 people for a friends wedding. Our check-in/out process was so easy and so fast, it was truly appreciated after a day of travel. The resort is very clean, the pools were great and not over crowded. The food at the buffet was very good and they had a nice selection for lunch and dinner. All of the Staff were very friendly and helpful. A small group of us went on a whale watching excursion at the marina (booked at the ScubaCaribe stand next to the towel hut and it was awesome! Our Guide and Captain were great, if you are there during whale watching season you must go. Some of the restaurants by the marina are really good too. The beach isn’t great, the sand is very shelly and hurts your feet to walk on it and you can’t go swimming in the water but there is nothing anyone can really do about that, it honestly didn’t end up being a big deal. Only thing that could be improved on is the nightly entertainment. Some of the live musicians were really good, while some of the other shows were pretty boring and not really entertaining. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the future!

Come to Cabo every year and first time here. Great beach location, away from the masses but only 15 minute walk to The Office, Mango Deck, etc. Great service by the whole staff, and pools were very nice with great views. Rooms are older, but were always stocked. Nightly entertainment was nice and enjoyable. The restaurants were good, Misaki and Krystal were very good. Best food was at lunch was at corner restaurant on water and next to pool (I forget name, but don’t miss it).

Beautiful Hotel, excellent food, immaculately clean, nice rooms. tooooo large.

My family of 11 went to this all inclusive resort over the Dec. Holidays. Basically it was a good family trip however personally I was extremely disappointed in the lack of available included varied activities. I understand that the Pacific is not safe at this location but it was a big deal to get to the Marina or the part of the beach where you could rent equipment or pay for moderate excursions. Everything was a taxi ride away and the locals were not very honest in their dealings related to what you were getting and who was to be paid. It is not fun to be on your guard all the time. There was an amazing New Year's Eve Dinner but the nighttime entertain was far below our expectations. The DJ played the same type of music over and over. The entertainment staff did their best but didn't have great material to work with. Some of the activities were across the road at the RIU Santa Fe and this was not communicated clearly. There was a great waterpark for teenagers and adults but this was also at the Santa Fe. In short I would not return here.

Amazing resort!

This was by far the best all inclusive resort I've been to. The resort was about a 45 minute drive from the airport, much of it along the beautiful coast. Check in was a breeze. The resort is located on beautiful beach front with view of mountains. We knew beforehand, but one downfall for some may be that the waves and undertow are usually too strong to allow for swimming. Beautiful beach to walk along nonetheless. The resort grounds were immaculate; everywhere you looked someone was cleaning. The walkways were always clean, trees/flowers trimmed to perfection. The staff were all friendly. Pool service was amazing, we were always being asked if we needed another drink. Food and drinks were also very good. The main buffet had an amazing view of the ocean- would definitely recommend sitting outside for meals. There was good variety of meat and seafood. Lots of fresh fruits at all meals. Great salad bar as well. We went to two of the a la carte restaurants - The Krystal and the Steakhouse. Both were very good, great service. We enjoyed the Krystal the most. We went to the coffee bar a few times a day for great coffee, lattes and cappuccinos. It was beautiful to sit and enjoy delicious coffee with an amazing view. We didn't pay for pool or oceanview, but once we arrived at our room realized we had a view of both which was amazing! Our room was always cleaned very well, fridge stocked. One of the only downsides we saw was that the noise did carry from room to room, especially if there were people coming back late at night. The resort had two main pools, one seemed a bit quieter than the other. There was always pool activities available or bocce ball, volleyball, etc. The pool was also heated which made it very comfortable swimming. There were also two smaller pools with swim up bars. All pools were beautiful infinity pools! We did walk over to the Santa Fe and Riu Palace Baja California which we had access to. The Santa Fe had daily pool parties which we did not attend but were available. Overall, our week was well worth the money! Will definitely be recommending to friends and family.
