Good time for Group of 9

We came for a bachelor party weekend with a age range from 27 to 67. Each generation had something that suited them well in terms of places to hang out: quite pools and restaurants, to party pools and active bars. The grounds are very well kept and the food was decent to good depending on the meal and restaurant. The service was outstanding - the servers, front desk, grounds, everyone was happy to help as much as they could. We liked the location - only a 10 minute cab ride from town. We didn't use the beach much, the waves were pretty strong as was the undertow. Luckily the pools were large and had plenty of area to sit in and out of the water. We didn't attend any of the shows so I can't comment on those. Overall, this exceeded my expectations. More>

My wonderful Husband and I were searching for the perfect A-I. This place has it all. You will never go hungry and never wash a dish. The swimming pools the color of the ocean constantly cleaning😏we did discover The Quiet pool vs The Party Loud Music side. The rooms are nice, clean balcony view of the ocean. Bring your binoculars you might see a whale! Next trip we will bring grand twins. Tip: if you want to shop stay closer to Marina area. More>

Cabo What to Expecting When you are Wabo-ing

This trip was for our second Anniversary Celebration. The resort is beautiful, very clean, and spacious. I loved our room, 3064. The view was breathtaking, great for photos! The A/C worked perfectly, which is a must considering my boyfriend prefers to sleep in the Arctic. The wi-fi in the room was spot-on! It never failed! Also great so we could touch base on business and still enjoy a great vacation. I was a bit disappointed that the staff at the front desk seemed very disinterested that it was our Anniversary and our first time in Cabo. But I think because so many visitors leave the resort to enjoy the Marina/ city that the front desk staff doesn't think they really need to go ABOVE & BEYOND. Well I really like ABOVE & BEYOND. That being said, it was a great resort. You might see the Santa Fe in your search... DO NOT BOOK THE SANTA FE. I'm 25 and my boyfriend is 29, we are the type who goes out for bottle service. We enjoy nightlife... the Santa Fe scared the life out of us. It was disgusting. Staying at the Palace was the BEST THING WE EVER DID! You do get what you pay for, when I vacation I want to feel catered to in a beautiful setting. The Spring Break insanity at the Santa Fe makes you feel like venereal disease are breeding in the pool. Speaking of the Pools, so if you are die-hard beach person by now in your Cabo research you know, Cabo is not for swimming. Cabo is for surfing and Deep Sea Fishing (more on this later). If you truly NEED beach swimming, you shouldn't really go to Cabo at all. But the Riu Palace makes up for this in the best ways. All of the pools are as beautiful in real life as in the photos. The Pool bars are amazing with gorgeous scenic views of the ocean and the Arc. Bartenders are so attentive and entertaining. I fell in love with our pools. Now, on to the food- It is one of those resorts where you HAVE to make a reservation and yes if you want Krystal you better wake up early however Other restaurants you can book in advance or go the night of your choosing. The Steakhouse is the same location as the Beach Buffet... wish I would have known that but the steak was divine. Even so, the seafood is really was impressed me. Sushi and Ceviche were amazing! I usually don't like the buffet at resorts but the Palace Buffet was delicious! Breakfast and Dinners were wonderful, I never felt bored and always left so full. The Bloody Mary's are superb. Because Cabo is not a beach swimmers dream we spent some time doing excursions. We did the Cactus Adventure, Deep Sea Fishing and went to Cabo WABO. Cabo is more pricey than other locations but it is also more commercialized. The Marina is beautiful and the restaurant Alexander was FANTASTIC! It is all worth seeing and experiencing. The Buggie Cactus adventure was so much fun! I would do that again 1,00000 times. During deep sea fishing, we caught a Marlin, brought the fish back to the hotel and they made it 3 different ways for us! We went to the spa for massages on our actual Anniversary date- great spa and great service! Beautiful view and atmosphere. I loved the couples massage. We both fell asleep. We also did a photoshoot on the beach, the cost is pricey but we were able to negotiate them down from the original $15 per photo. The pictures came out beautiful, it was worth the keepsake. So here's my real recap on Cabo, don't go to fall in love. Go with a group, go with friends or go after you are already in love. The resort is not for romance, it is for a relaxing and fun vacation. We fell in love in DR but we laughed and played in Cabo. RIU Palace is beautiful- it is worth every dime for sure! My boyfriend and I really had a great time- but next year BEACH :-) More>

The positives: Lovely pools, good location if you want to go down to the marina. That's it. The negatives: The property and the rooms are very dated and not to nice. I would say average to below average. I have a hard time giving this place two stars. We were quite disappointed. Our biggest complaint was the food. It is sub par. But worse than that, two of the three nights we were there, we didn't get to eat dinner. We were told at checkin that dinner reservations were not necessary because they were not busy at the hotel. When we walked up to the Japanese restaurant, the place was almost completely empty. They asked if we had reservations, we said no. They refused to serve us. Exact same thing happened the next night at the Steak house. After loudly complaining, they finally gave us a table. When one person in our group ask for two entres, they refused. This is an all inclusive place but you would never know it. If you are looking for a nice quality vacation with comfortable beds, nice linens, good food and customer service this is not the hotel for you. Very very disappointed. More>
