Fun Girls Vacation, But Too Many Kids

Stayed at the Riu for 5 nights. Its a beautiful hotel that needs some updating but it is very clean, open and airy. We arrived on the last flight from Miami so there was no check in and all the restaurants were closed. Our only food option was room service which was quick but turned out to be a small sandwich with 1 piece of cheese and 1 piece of meat. Order room service only if you're starving. All other food chances are outstanding especially the buffet breakfast. It is the best breakfast brunch I've ever dined at. The variety of food, drink and desserts are astounding. Champagne is served with breakfast every morning. The service is excellent and all wait staff, busboys, chefs, cooks and others always offer a smile and kind word. They are very friendly and are always willing to help where needed or called upon. The only issue is the kids running around with no supervision doing disgusting things at the food stations. Your best bet is not to sit too close to the food service areas. All other restaurants were very good and we tried them all. We enjoyed the steak house the most. The service is outstanding in all the restaurants and bars so please make sure you try them all. The pool bar is a great place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful pool and sunshine. It usually crowded so get there early to claim your sun chair. They say you can't hold sun chairs but everyone does it so get up early to reserve a few. The waiters are come around to take drink orders but you can also go to the bar to get your own drinks. Service at the bar is busy but you will eventually get your drinks. The entertainment crew are great fun and get people in involved it daily activities. They don't pressure you but try to make the day fun. If you want peace and quiet hanging on the beach is probably your best bet. The beach is clean and spacious but you will also need to get there early to get your sun chair. The rooms are spacious and clean. Housekeepers came twice daily and restocked the fridge and always left extra clean towels. My only issue was the sheets not being changed the entire time we were there. I noticed because I spilled soda by accident on the sheets and the same spot was there over the course of 5 nights. I also noticed that sheets were a little sandy. The bed appeared to fresh and clean but the sheets were never changed. This is unacceptable for this kind of property. No other issues with room other than the sheets and the broken bed. Overall we had a really fun time. We always felt safe and loved the size and cleanliness of the property. We are debating about returning but I think we prefer an adults only hotel. P.S. The pool closes too early.

AMAZING.... BEST HOLIDAY EVER!

We arrived at this amazing place by coach which took you about 20 mins via Oranjestad to the porters and staff waiting with processco nice touch. Very organised check in then walk out the door to the most amazing View... Stunning! The rooms are partially refurbish massive shower and basins with separate toilet, when opened door did have musty damp smell but did go once air con on, rooms are big with massive bed and well stocked fridge the smell was the only negative! Food is amazing, only ate in Steakhouse and Buffett as we found so much choice and high quality.... I suppose the other restaurants you need to like what you are planning to eat as did hear the odd person saying it wasn't for them and others raving so can't please everyone. Staff are amazing, Rosa, Julia and ramfis ( I think) at breakfast are a credit to the please. Bar staff Ana, Jonathan on main bar/Barry bar are the best and can't do euough not sure why there not supervisors... Diego, Robert and keyla on pool bar also friendly and helpful. Entertainment team work hard as usually but didn't watch any shows, did go to beach party which would have been better if no games just music but that is my preference. Used next door a couple of times for outside besides the beach bar which was amazing to watch the sun set. George from the beach was great and book tours via him as so much cheaper and better than Thompson. People reserve sun beds and parasols on the beach from midnight watching it is hilarious so if want entertaining for a few hours opening your curtains and see them all scutterling about.... few people had towels and stuff removed/ Stolen by others which is terrible but if everyone just went when the towels and beds opening at 7 then wouldn't be an issue, didn't affect me as I didn't want any shade and after dinner you can always get a parasol! No one wanted to go home on the last day and no one we spoke to craved anything from home which is unusual as everyone usually plans there first meal once they get home...... If using casino get drink from bar and take in. Outside the hotel is very expensive seems like very rich country as even the tat such as beach bags and shirt were $20-30 magnets from $4-12 few markets in Oranjestad were cheaper. Few people we know went out for 2 Steaks, shared starter and few drinks was $150 plus $30 tip and another 4 went for Italian shared starter, main dish each, 4 beers and water $290 which I think is expensive. The hotel provides excellent choice so no need to go out but understand people like too just be prepared to pay for it. The most amazing place was made by the beach and Sea turquoise sea and clean beach no seaweed unlike a lot of Caribbean island we have been too, the windy provided a nice rest from the sun but the most amazing tan lol. I can't wait to rebook for next year and can understand why it is called " one happy island" I felt like this every day which made up for the small negatives we had and made this our best holiday ever and we travel 4 times per year!!! Thanks for everything RIU palace Aruba xx

Stayed at the Riu Palace. Awesome property. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great service in all restaurants and bars. Junior suite ocean view was a great choice. Very windy island so bring towel clips...lol Jean Pierre, server and bartender at the pool is the best! Very attentive and real sweetheart! Would recommend this property in a heartbeat!

We booked the Riu Palace for a 1 week vacation the first week of June 2017 - Check in was fantastic (glass of champagne never hurts) - We were unpacked and at the beach which is gorgeous less than an hour after leaving the airport. We had requested a room closer to the Ocean and we got it (with a small terrace which we were not expecting). The entertainment was good, the food was better than average (Buffet was very good however the Italian and Steak Restaurants were average) and because the hotel offers good value we were able to go out for dinner outside of the resort for a couple of evenings. High recommend Madame Jeannete in town. All in all a wonderful resort and a wonderful stay on a beautiful island.

We where a group of 21 and we had an Amazing time at this RIU. The staff in all restaurant where great and always did their best to accommodate all 21 of us. The food was excellent in alll the restaurant with great variety throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool was kept clean and maintained throughout the day and night. The maintenance of the hotel and rooms was on point at all times. 24hour Room service was also part of the all-Inclusive package. We found that Island tends to be on the breezy side no matter what part of the island you are on. This did not stop us from renting Jeeps and doing our own tour of the island which was great and the island beaches are beautiful. We also charted a catamaran just for us and that was lovely experience that included snorkeling and water slide off the catamaran. The only reason I did not give them a 5 star in service is because of the staff at the front desk especially the supervisor on duty, no matter what time of the day you stopped by even if it was a simple question they always responded with attitude and like they didn't care... so all the work that the chefs, housekeeping, bartenders, maintenance, entertainment group, etc did was ruin thanks to the front desk staff.
