One Happy Island - One Awesome Resort

My partner and I just returned home yesterday and we had a wonderful time in Aruba. A lot of credit for that wonderful time goes to the hardworking staff at Antillas. The moment we walked in the door we were greeted with smiles (and champs) - who can beat that? And in our final moments at the resort, there were hugs and handshakes and lots of "See you next years!" But in between the hello's and goodbyes, there was so much fun and relaxation. I must give a shout out to the most amazing, the kindest and the most enjoyable person on our trip, Mirian. Mirian is a server at the Atlantis International Buffet. She was our server for the last 3 nights we were there and with each of those 3 nights we made sure to ask for a table in her section. She knew our drink orders instantly and kept them coming, but most importantly it was her smile, her bubbly charming personality and her professionalism that won us over. She is a HUGE reason that we will be back very soon to the Antillas. Ask to sit in Mirian's section at the buffet. I have NEVER met a staff and hotel quite as friendly as the Antillas. Literally, a smile every corner you turned and someone was always saying "Hi" or "Hello". Aruba really is one happy island and I could see it the entire time we were there - on resort or around the island. Room = wonderful junior suite, ocean view - the view was spectacular all day long Food = incredible!!!! we did not eat at any of the speciality restaurants because we didn't feel we needed to. The food at Atlantis for breakfast and dinner was GREAT and for lunch at Palm Beach or Malmok was fantastic. Staff = OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING!!!! We will be going back to Aruba soon!!!! Book the Riu Palace Antillas in Aruba for your next vacation!

Bartender Kenneth made very good drinks and was very sociable and provided excellent information about places around Aruba. Server Esteisy provided excellent service. She was always cheerful and attentive.

Top service for sure

Just got home today after a week there. First off the service is fantastic. Anything from a simple question to a real issue was handles with a smile and true caring. Another thing I personally noticed was that someone was always cleaning something. The pool, the floors and I even saw an employee cleaning a garbage can. The hotel is just fine despite what some of these people say in these reviews. The food is fantastic although there are more choices next door, but that a perk of staying here. You can use both facilities. Steak house and arubian restaurants are awesome. I have been to Aruba 6 times now and this is number two only to the riu palace next door. The people are truly special and make you feel the same. I miss it already.

My husband and I travelled June 4-11 to the Riu Palace Antillas in Aruba. This is the adult only hotel. Check in went very smoothly. My room was 1603. It was cleaned by Alexandra who did a terrific job. As long as you are down by the pools or beach by 10 you will have no trouble finding a great spot. People were getting up early and saving chairs. I do recommend taking towel holders as the wind does blow. They do sell them in the store. The pools were kept clean and the entertainment staff did a great job. The pool service was great. On most days Genesis waited on us and was pleasant. Lunch was served at the Palm Beach. Susanna was our waitress, remembering our drinks. Hot dogs, hamburger and chicken along with french fries but you could also use the adjoining Malmok restaurant which was a buffet and either sit in air conditioning in there or out in the open in Palm Beach. We ate dinner for the most part in the buffet, as the service was excellent and the atmosphere and food was terrific. Al Roker was our waiter and did an exceptional job. We only ate at one a-la-carte restaurant, The Steakhouse. We did this on our second night and we were disappointed. The food was good (steak and lobster) but the service and atmosphere left much to be desired. When I eat at any a-la-carte restaurants on any of the islands I have visited I always came away feeling special and felt like I had a romantic dinner. This was not the case here. I felt that it was rushed and like an assembly line. No one offered dessert or coffee. We were at the first seating and they wanted us out to prepare for the next service. After that we decided to just go to the buffet as the food was good and the service was excellent. We never went to the buffet at the Riu next door. They also had a coffee shop which had packaged salad, fruit, sandwiches, liquor, danish. It was a great place to stop in early in the morning or at night after the show or casino. I would recommend the Riu Palace Antillas. I hope to visit again.

Not bad. Wouldn’t return

Just finished up a week long trip for our first anniversary. This is our fourth all inclusive trip in the Caribbean. First time in Aruba. The good: Food was great. Easy to get into the various restaurants and even the buffet is above the average of other all inclusives. Pool is nice and plenty of shade even when it is packed. If you want to workout on your trip the gym is a good size and has plenty of options. Walking distance to many shops and tours. Drink service is prompt. Staff is friendly. Manager is always around talking to guests. The bad: Room was horrible. Bed was one of the hardest we have ever stayed on. My college futon was more comfortable. The room in general wasn’t well kept. Broken mirror in the bathroom. Stained ceiling, drain in the shower wouldn’t drain. Toilets hardly flush. TV didn’t work. Door wouldn’t latch without being slammed shut. Overall the halls, carpet and general up keep of the guest floors was very poor. Not one bartender could recommend a drink. Drinks were very weak. Drinks were different from one bar tender to another. Overall our stay ranked as one of our least favorite trips. Aruba is very nice. Our resort staff was friendly but the resort missed its mark many times and the room itself ruined the trip. We did try to get another room but couldn’t be switched.
