Great time on the 15floor of this all inclusive resort. We have stayed at the palace next door a number of times and enjoyed the RIU attitude, after 20 years with Sandals, which have outgrown the beach resort concept. So, we moved over to the adult only and had a great experience. Thank you RIU.

See pics. Horrible rooms

HORRIBLE rooms!! Please see pictures. The good, the bad and the UGLY! GOOD: Aruba beaches are beautiful. Calm and clear waters makes you forget how awful the rooms are. The water is so calm and perfect to play and swim in. The beaches have white/beige colored sand, that is clean, Except for guest throwing their Cigarette butts on the sand. The Arubans are very nice people, and I never once saw a vendor approaching anyone on the beach or at the Market. The food and drinks at the hotel were decently good, and the staff was attentive (except for housekeeping). She was upset because our room was full of condensation cause we left the patio door open and now she had to mop up the room!. OMG really, we can't open the doors to enjoy the view because it'll cause the room to sweat!!!! BAD and UGLY: The hotel rooms are absolutely atrocious. The hotel lobby appearance was unimpressive but the front desk clerk was nice. The furniture in lobby was basically weaved patio furniture, with tan vinyl fabric, it was very unattractive. Upon exciting the elevator to your room, you're welcomed with a musty smell and carpet that is so worn, it was fraying at all angles. Its tile carpet, so a lot of the pieces are flipping up and the edges were worn and frayed. (Please see pics) Stains all over the place and it smelled very musty. WALLS: The walls as you walk to your room are all scuffed and nicked and the plaster on the walls is the worst application I've seen. It's applied so thick and bulky it gives it an appearance of (what are they covering up). Most likely Mold (see pic). The metal corner guards under the plaster are all rusted and bleeding through the paint. (See pic) ROOM DOORS and FLOORS: The door to our room was again scuffed and rust all over the place. They are super heavy and all you hear throughout the day and night are doors slamming, because people don’t assist the closing of these heavy doors. The floors are cheap laminate wood-like tiles that are bubbled and many areas RUST: The room walls again are rusted at all corners, door frames, patio balcony. One morning we woke up to water all over the floor and walls from the A/C condensation. Mold all around AC vent, and even between the wall seems, the mold is bleeding out. (see pic) The Lamp Shade was full of rust, anything that had metal, also had rust. MOLD: The A/C is cold, but the condensation is so bad that mold is all over the vents and bathroom walls. All the ceiling A/C vents throughout the entire hotel drip condensation and are covered in mold. Employees go around with long stick wiping down the condensation and the condensation on the floor and painting over molded stains. ENTERTAINMENT: The daily entertainment was pretty good. DISAPPOINTMENT in HOTEL but LOVED ARUBA: We were highly disappointed with our room. Upon talking to other guest, they too had the same problems we saw and experienced. Don't believe the room pictures you see on their advertisements. This hotel is definitely not worth the money we paid. This is my 3rd time staying in a RIU hotel in the Caribbean's, and I've been disappointed in 2 of them. I'm done giving them a 2nd chance. Please SEE PICS

Fabulous!

The hotel, the food, the restaurants, the staff, the beach and the activities are nothing short of awesome. My husband and I could not have been more pleased. Our only complaint was having to leave. Aruba is indeed One Happy Island. We will be going back.

Traveled with our adult children ( 21 and 24 yrs old ) We had connecting rooms on the 15th floor, greats rooms, very clean but bathrooms are showing their age. Staff was wonderful, always polite and smiling! A big shout out to Carlos at the pool bar, he went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of Also loved our made to order omelets and the fine gentleman making them! We wouldn’t hesitate to return!!

Honeymoon Visit

We had our honeymoon trip at the first of August and it started out great. Super fun and amazing views though food was not great. However on our second to last day we went out on an excursion from 9am-4pm and during that time I had left my wedding ring on my bedside table (where I left it whenever I was scared it might get hurt). During that time our room was cleaned and when we got back my ring was missing. We tore apart our room on the separate times to look for it and never found it. After the first time we called the front desk and they said they'd investigate it but everyone had already gone home so it'd have to wait till the morning. We then looked a second time and when morning time came around they said didn't know what we were talking about and took a couple hours to actually figure it out and then they asked their employees but received no answers. We asked what we were supposed to do from there because they didn't want the cops involved so we tried to be nice and did what they said to email their corporate office to figure the issue out from there. This was right before our flight so I sent the email and we flew home. By the time we relieved the email address didn't work it was too late to do anything about it but call them. So we tried and our calls have been ignored or hung up on. I spent an entire night of my honeymoon crying and they did nothing to make it better in the slightest. I didn't feel safe in our room after that and I will never stay at one of the establishments again if this is the way they treat their guests.
