When we arrived at the hotel, there were four of us -- two couples. One of us was told we had an upgraded room at no cost; the other couple was told they had an upgraded room for the first night but then would have to move the next day. When we told the hotel staff that moving and ultimately not being near each other was unacceptable. After much discussion, we were told that we would need to talk to the reservations manager the next day. The next day, we were told that we both could move to be near each other. While we really did not want to move, the reservations manager made the process very simple by showing us choices in the rooms. We ended up still with upgraded rooms, close to the pool and close to our friends. All in all, it worked out -- and we received free massages, champagne, flowers, and tshirts for the inconvenience. The hotel was very nice and the staff seemed attentive. It was nice to stay at a smaller hotel that, even though it was full, never seemed to be packed at the beach, the pool, the bar or the restaurant. The Terrace Restaurant was great, and the other restaurant where you had to make reservations was even better. I would definitely go back to this hotel again.

I wanted to give people a heads-up about Rendezvous Resort in St. Lucia since I hadn't read anything similar to our experience in the past. We were treated TERRIBLY when we tried to use our Day Pass and want you to be forewarned. After extensive research and reading lots of reviews, we decided to book a Day Pass at Rendezvous Resort in St. Lucia while sailing the Carnival Victory. We paid $10 to take a taxi to the resort, only to be turned away at the gate by security. Initially, when our driver told him we had a day pass, the guard seemed confused as if this was the first time he had ever heard of such a thing. Thankfully, I had my printed confirmation, so we gave that to the guard and he used his phone to confirm that we had a Day Pass. Imagine our surprise when he came back, handed the paper to our taxi driver and flat out told us "No, you cannot come in. They are all booked up." Our taxi driver tried talking to the security guard, stating that we had a CONFIRMED pass for the day, however, he would not budge. I asked if I could speak to someone at the resort, as there must be some sort of confusion because we clearly had a confirmation and they knew how many people would be at the resort when I booked it only a week or two prior. "NO! I already called them. You can't enter" was the only response and he told us to leave. I was devastated. Our taxi driver was also very upset and felt very bad that we were treated so poorly and our visit to his island was ruined. He explained how their economy depends on tourism so badly and it was terrible to see visitors having such a bad experience. I read on here after we returned home that some people had received emails explaining that there was a virus outbreak "due to cruise passengers" (which is terrible logic, by the way, there have been outbreaks everywhere including college campuses). We NEVER received such an email before, during, or after our visit. PLUS, even if they sent it during our visit, we wouldn't have seen it due to not accessing the internet while on vacation. Being turned away at the gate like we were trying to trespass on the resort left a TERRIBLE taste in our mouth. This was a terrible terrible example of "customer service." We cruise with the intention of visiting multiple ports in order to determine where we might like to spend extended vacations in different islands. Perhaps to them $120 wasn't worth the effort of maintaining good customer service, but perhaps they don't realize that they now have lost out on a future 7+ day resort vacation we may have booked at their property. $120 isn't much, but I'm pretty sure thousands of dollars makes a BIG difference. Shame on them. So there we were, left at the gate and having spent $20 to taxi there and back for NOTHING. We had no towels, no drinks, no small bills for spending/tips, etc.... Our entire day on the island was ruined by Rendezvous terrible customer "service." Thankfully, we were able to work out a deal with our taxi driver to take us back to the ship to get our towels and other items and he drove us to Marigot Bay for a decreased price b/c he felt so terrible. But I wanted to warn other cruisers about this possibly happening to them--- apparently a CONFIRMATION means nothing to this business. If you still plan to book a Day Pass, be extra prepared and bring a towel, drinks, small bills, etc and have a back-up plan b/c you may be just left twiddling your thumbs like we were. Shame, shame. This was the ONLY blemish on an otherwise beautiful trip to the Caribbean.

Stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it; would return. Great staff, clean grounds, very good rooms, great excursions offered (additional fee), and fun included activities. The staff is always keen to invite you to activities without being pushy at all. The resort holds about 250 people which is a plus or minus, depending how you look at it. Their Trsyting Restaurant had decent food but is way too outdated for a younger crowd, which is the minority at the resort. Roughly 75% of the guests were over 50/55 when we were there. Again, a plus or minus, depending how you look at it. With that said, the young and old guests had little problem getting along and hanging out, even getting in some good volleyball games with ages spanning 50 years.

I will keep this review short as The Rendezvous does what it sets out to do very well Position is fine, you dont have to look at the cemetary but they are pretty quiet anyway.Aircraft noise was not intrusive. The food was good including the included house wines which were considered above average. We enjoyed it and will probaly go back. The staff are great and make the place special. Dont go if you dont like couples enjoying being couples.

My husband and I returned from Rendezvous today and had to post straight away as we have had the most amazing ten days celebrating our silver wedding anniversary. Like so many of the positive reviews we cannot understand any of the negative comments so won't repeat but just say it's lovely! Although the hotel was full the family have commented on our photos looking like we were alone in the resort as there are so many lovely quiet spots to relax. And there are always sunbeds of every different style available, from beach loungers to wicker chairs with footstools and brollies by the spa pool and beautiful doubles chairs and sofas around the lazy river. The all inclusive is amazing - the waiters cannot bear to see an empty glass and are constantly topping you up. Mini Me and the other Water Waiters even come to the secluded spots to see if you'd like a drink and bring round cold towels and ice pops in the afternoons. We also had a sailing lesson and went kayaking. The Champagne Bar is lovely for a pre dinner meal and they pull out all the stops to help you celebrate - we had champagne on arrival and champagne and flowers for our anniversary, the hotel laid on a free Valentine's Sunset cruise with champagne flowing and snacks (we were set to pay $55 each for the Virgin equivalent!) and our table in the Trysting Place was decorated for our anniversary meal. Our rep made us aware of recent illness and pointed out the hygiene things such as hand sanitisers but the people we saw who were ill were up and about within 24 hours (we had food poisoning on holiday in the Canaries last year and were ill for days) so we do believe it is a virus. The only minor points were that the bathroom in our beautiful verandah suite didn't quite match up to the luxury of everything else (small towels and basic toiletries) and the internet connection can be dodgy but it is a new addition to the hotel. Overall, if you want relaxed, intimate luxury - go for it!

We visited the Rendezvous in February 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel met all our expectations that we had gained from friends that had previously visited the hotel and on line reviews. The hotel location, on the outskirts of Castries, is ideal. It is about a 25minute slow walk into the town market area, past the local airport and island graveyard. I might add that the airport is not at all noisy as the aircraft are only local small prop type. The hotel grounds are kept well manicured with plenty of areas to relax both in and out of the sun. The rooms are in excellent condition and typically colourful. The better rooms are closer to the sea, with larger patio areas and more costly, although our garden view room met all our needs. The food in the main Terrace restaurant was buffet style and both varied and excellent, with weekly beach barbeques and carribean nights. The local beach is sandy, kept tidy and ideal for a long walk as it stretches about two miles.What sets this all inclusive resort above other resorts are two items, the first is the quantity of different types of free water sports and the second more importantly is the hotel work team. I can't emphasise enough how friendly with a "can do" attitude the team have and cannot distinguish between the different teams, ie entertainment, bar staff, catering/restaurant staff, reception or housekeeping and those i haven't mentioned, that must reflect on a strong management team. There is a second fine dining al la carte, restaurant, the Tryst that i would recommend as a change from the main Terrace restaurant. If i could offer some suggestions for improvement these are only minor, ie the polcy of men not wearing shorts at dinner in the main Terrace restaurant should be enforced as some males were wearing shorts, the staff should all have name badges so they can be addressed by their first name and identified when giving exceptional customer service. A head waiter (Maitre de) to identify vacant tables would be useful as the resturant does gets busy and a board with the main dishes on the buffet would perhaps save time with peoples choice of selectionl. We did have a few rain showers so an umbrella in each room would also be useful. Yes we are alreading thinking about a return visit
