When we arrived at the hotel, there were four of us -- two couples. One of us was told we had an upgraded room at no cost; the other couple was told they had an upgraded room for the first night but then would have to move the next day. When we told the hotel staff that moving and ultimately not being near each other was unacceptable. After much discussion, we were told that we would need to talk to the reservations manager the next day. The next day, we were told that we both could move to be near each other. While we really did not want to move, the reservations manager made the process very simple by showing us choices in the rooms. We ended up still with upgraded rooms, close to the pool and close to our friends. All in all, it worked out -- and we received free massages, champagne, flowers, and tshirts for the inconvenience. The hotel was very nice and the staff seemed attentive. It was nice to stay at a smaller hotel that, even though it was full, never seemed to be packed at the beach, the pool, the bar or the restaurant. The Terrace Restaurant was great, and the other restaurant where you had to make reservations was even better. I would definitely go back to this hotel again.

An absolutely unbelievable, incredible, magical holiday. My partner and I have been very fortunate to have experienced some incredible holidays, but this one was the best. The resort itself is idyllic; set on a beautiful beach with stunning views and loads of space. It was never hard to find a place to perch - from the beach pool (and bar!), to the beach itself, the spa pool, the lazy river and the terrace. The food was fabulous, especially the Malabar beach restaurant. But without question, the main differentiator of this resort is the staff. Service like I have never experienced. I am very worried I will miss someone, but I would first like to call out my girls - Tasha, Cassie, JoJo, Sheema, Lise. The fun we had! Especially ganging up on the boys - Gilly (Bad Boy), Densen, Glen, Stretch (Zakim). Nothing was too much, including serving us trays of beer, rum punch, sandwiches and cakes whilst watching the rugby! (in the room above the gym which involved quite a few stairs). They even find you in the solitary lazy river, maneovering the stones to ensure you are served. I know I've missed people, but as you know that's only because I had a few too many vinos and forgot names! You were all incredible. I would also like to thank Shan, Michael and Luigi for getting us off our loungers and enjoyiing the beautiful sea. I would highly recommend a private boat trip around the island. It was spectacular and Luigi even let me play dominoes with the locals (I'm practising for the next trip Luigi!). The servers at all the restaurants were also fabulous - my namesake Nicole in particular. And I've never had such perfect eggs as cooked by the egg lady. Keto and the piano man in the champagne bar were fantastic and I recommend you take advantage of the champagne tasting at 7pm evey evening. I don't drink champagne so they always had my favourite wine ready and it is a great opportunity to meet people in a lovely environment. The resort is designed for you to do as much or as little as you want (hats off to the 7am yoga peeps!) We preferred to walk the beach and the climb to the lighthouse is well worth doing with stunning views in all directions. I have read reviews about the clientele tending to be older, but that was no problem for us and we met couples of all ages, truly amazing people that will be friends for life. We will be back! Thank you Rendezvous.

I hadn’t planned to write a review of Rendezvous. It seemed as though everyone has mentioned every aspect of the resort and there really couldn’t be anything more to enthuse about ! However, we were looked after so well and we had such a good stay I feel that the hotel deserves a good review. This was our first holiday without our daughters since our honeymoon in 1995 ,so we opted for an adults only resort. The transfer to Rendezvous from the airport is quite long but interesting and a good insight into the landscape and geology of St Lucia. We were more than happy with our garden view room on the top floor with views over the spa across to the sea. It was immaculately clean and looked after for our whole stay. I think the bathroom had been recently refurbished. There were plenty of toiletries ,cotton wool etc. You get robes and slippers also. The bed was soooo comfortable. The turn down service also extended to candles being lit and music put on for your return at night. The beach and grounds are also well maintained. We used the side over by the beachfront cottages - a bit windy but we thought quieter. As soon as you settle down on your lounger the staff bring you a bottle of cold water and then basically bring you drinks constantly for the rest of your stay. I discovered Mango, ginger and Lime (very refreshing) and I didn’t even have to ask for it from day two , it just arrived ! The Terrace restaurant is situated looking across the beach, a lovely spot to take your meals. The food was good ; I loved the varied choices - plenty of fruit at breakfast and many different salads at lunch. We noticed that if anything ran out it was quickly replaced (unlike other all inclusive resorts we have stayed at when if you get to lunch late after a trip there is little left) Dinner alternated between buffet and a la carte . Staff always brought wine by the bottle (we had to detox when we got home !) We loved the Malabar Beach restaurant in the sand. Service was exceptional there also. We never made it to The Champagne bar for tasting sessions , but we did go either before a meal or after, and we found it very quiet. It was lovely sitting outside -which we found warmer as the air conditioning inside was a bit chilly - with a glass of champagne, listing to the insects and marvelling at the suspended lighting (which reminded me of the candles in the great hall at Hogwarts !) We went on a few trips booked through our travel agent ; The “toute Bagay “ tour (you have to see the Pitons) and a sunset cruise. We also went to Martinique on my birthday which was interesting , but bear in mind if you go, the open ocean can be quite choppy and we also got quite wet on the catamaran . It was nice to see another Caribbean country but St Lucia is much nicer in my opinion and definitely more welcoming ! However, if you don’t want to leave The Rendezvous there is lots to do there. We were always awake by 6.30am so did the sunrise yoga - the beach studio has amazing views across the ocean. It set us up for the whole day and Pauline the yoga teacher is very knowledgeable and dedicated . We also did Pilates, an early morning walk to the lighthouse and borrowed paddle boards. My husband did several scuba dives (they are inclusive at the resort but you can pay extra to go out further) I also had a fantastic foot massage at the Spa. Castries is about a 20-30 minute walk. We went on market day and it was vibrant and busy. The locals are very friendly . So you can be as active as you wish at The Rendezvous. One thing is for sure : if you take a trip out you will be welcomed back like an old friend. All the staff are amazing and they made our stay very memorable. We LOVED St Lucia - thank you Rendezvous.

Heaven, again!

We had previously stayed here for three nights but promised ourselves a longer stay, it was well worth it. We booked direct and from our first contact the service and staff were exemplary, in fact they were all fabulous from start to finish. Our transfer was by (resort arranged) taxi from UVF and arriving to a cool drink and warm welcome was great. Our room was a Garden View Room, ground floor (last time was 1st floor which did have a glimpse of the sea), with the only access via he patio doors. It was a huge patio with coffee table and chairs as well as double day bed and drying rack. However, despite our speedy carefulness, and light turning off, somehow little bugs did mange to sneak in and we were bitten quite badly in bed a couple of nights (perhaps plug in mozzie deterrents could be provided?). The room itself was huge, with masses of storage, a chaise lounge with footstool, mega bed, desk, welcome fruit platter, bubbly, tea and coffee with fresh milk in the fridge. The open plan bathroom area was also spacious, with standalone luxury bath, separate shower (oddly separated from the loo by an alternating glass door) and basin with counter top and under storage. The pressure in the shower was not that great. The resort itself was fab, two main pools (one traditional with excellent Aqua Fit sessions daily, the other by the beach bar and sand). Both had plenty of loungers (double padded ones at the non-beach pool), plus there were many loungers on the beach. Staff brought towels and came round on a regular basis offering chilled water, cold towels, fruit punch, Pimms, or indeed anything from the swim-up bar. Bliss. Breakfast was served in the Terrace restaurant, buffet style, with such an array of foods and the brilliant multitasking "egg lady", what a marvel. When we could we chose a table on the beach decking at the terrace. On two nights we dined at the Terrace too, avoiding the buffets (it was a holiday, not a bob up and down event). The first time was good, the second time was a bit manic, Valentine's Day, our table was repeatedly overlooked and a couple of times we had to jump up to waylay staff who were buzzing round trying to serve others. The live sax and then live band on the beach were lovely that evening, as was the pop-up dance floor and loungers set in pairs with candle lanterns, under that stars around the beach fire...but dining that night was underwhelming. Malabar Beach and Trysting Place are much better dining options (see sep reviews). Pre dinner most nights we enjoyed a glass of champagne at the Champagne Bar, different ones were offered to taste each evening between 7 and 8pm. However, the Bar felt like it was taken over by groups of friends so a couple coming in on their own had nowhere to sit (the sofas are quite large but don't seat many people). Fortunately there are a couple of tables outside on the veranda under the tree. Overall this was an absolutely wonderful week and we would love to return for some more Heaven on Eearth!

Great relaxing holiday

We booked a premium garden view room and were not disappointed. Large room with lovely bath, all usual facilities plus a nice balcony/veranda. Room was clean on arrival and was maintained throughout out stay with a turn down service daily. The resort itself is very nice with immaculate gardens, 2 pools, spa, gym,2 restaurants ( that need to be booked) plus the main terrace which serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meal daily. There is a boutique shop, tennis court, water sports plus other daily activities . The resort is all inclusive and serves brand name spirits. The wine served on the all inclusive package is fine although you can purchase a wine of your choice if you prefer. The beach and pools have plenty of sun beds and we had no problem getting one daily which was great. Towels are available from 8am and changed throughout the day if you require. The staff at the beach bar offer a great service. Water at regular intervals, juice, melon on sticks, ice poles and any drink of your choice delivered to you while at your sunbed if you don’t want to go to the bar. The staff are amazing throughout the resort. So friendly and helpful . Nothing is to much trouble and they are a credit to the rendezvous! I have to mention Denson and Sasha who spoke to us by name not only around the pool but wherever we saw them and tended to our every need. Terrace Restaurant This serves a good choice for breakfast and has an egg station operated by Veronica. Lunch is buffet style with salad bar, hot dishes, desserts, cheese Evening meal varies from buffet, beach bbq and menu choice served to your table Overall the food in the terrace is good. Malabar Restaurant Lunch and evening meal served daily. Choice of starter, main, dessert Menu is changed every 3 days so you can go more than once in your stay and have something different each time Overall the food at the Malabar is good Trysting Restaurant This restaurant is superb... Again menu changes every 3 days but is only open in the evening. Food is excellent !! Starter, main and dessert available The beach is nice, kept clean and you can walk all around the cove and feel comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here

Lovely hotel, great service in beautiful gardens

We had a lovely stay and the best recommendation I can give is that we have booked to return next year and have asked for the same room as we loved it so much! The good Really luxurious rooms with very comfortable bed and a lovely veranda. Beautiful gardens that they are rightly proud of Lots of space and the two beaches are really big so not crowded and the beach staff were really attentive Warm calm sea for swimming and two pools which were nice Lots of activities if you want them Malabar beach and the Trysting place are fabulous for dinner - super food and great staff. Breakfast in the main restaurant was amazing as was lunch (dinner was a bit hit and miss). The bars are fun and well stocked and Jojo is a bit of a star! Room for improvement As often the case in all but the very top resorts there simply arent enough loungers with shades on the beach. When we were there our first few days we could not finding space by the pool or beach so we ended up by the lazy river or back on our veranda. After that we had to set our alarm and get to the beach by 8.15 to get a lounger for the day. You supposedly cant reserve for more than an hour but people clearly did and then went off for hours. Its a shame as with a few more umbrellas and beds you could have a lay-in or go out and still spend the afternoon on the beach would be so much nicer.
