The hotel was clean. Your web site said there were activities at the pool and beach but there was not any. Your web site also said that you had a threatre with entertainment. Yes there was a threatre but it was closed and when we asked about it at the front desk, we were told that it has been closed for a long time. We told them that it was on the web site and the desk clerk said that it has not been updated in years. We were told that there was a lounge with entertainment near the casino and there was a three piece band starting after 11:00 pm that was really sad. All of your restraurants had the same food. The Captains Corner had birds flying everywhere and landing on the food, serving dishes and tables. They were also trying to eat from the buffet. There was no night life around or in your hotel and mall. Everything closed by 8:30 pm. There were no beach activities at the island and at the family hotel. The Steak Restraurant gave the all inclusive people different treatment and menus than the other guests. The best part of the hotel was the Blue Bar at the Marinia Hotel. Overall I would not suggest this hotel to my friends although it was clean, it was very boring.

The hotel atmosphere is stunning but a bit noisy you are on the Main Street. We were out of water for about 16 hrs but that was okay. We asked for a honeymoon package and got nothing. We had to beg the maid for bottled water in our room. The maid did not come to our room until 3-4 in the afternoon after our day was done. The food selection was not good at all. We ate at LG Smith Chop House three nights it was excellent food and service.

We had fun on our stay, the bar at the ocean view and marina hotels were great and the bar staff provided the best service of the whole stay, they remembered our names day after day and provided recommendations for things to do around the island. The food was ok, as I would expect with an all inclusive package; although I did have higher expectations of the steak and chop house. The decore and service was very good but with that I would have higher expectations of the food; my wife's fish was like from a package frozen and my steak was a little petite for my liking. We had an over all good time and enjoyed the island beach and the pool areas.

I was very surprised to find that our hotel was not on the beach. The pictures showed sand and trees, but there was no beach leading to the ocean. There was however, a boat that takes you to their island which was beautiful! Iwould stay there again!

I paid for ocean front room & got partial view. Traveling with two small kids, I was expecting two queen beds but got one king & very bad sofa bed!! As much as I paid, I expected better room. It was good but not excellent. But staff is excellent & goes out of their way to help you. Food was disappointing. We loved their private island . No nightly entertainment at all!! Kids activities are also not many. I have stayed in better hotels with more kid friendly activities etc. We loved the island, if we go back, I'll go to a different place.

"Ocean View" rooms overlook a Street, a parking lot, and a Marina and the Food is Terrible
Rach S,
Thu Apr 19 14:30:43 EDT 2018
I stayed at this hotel from March 8-11, 2018. I did not have a good experience and will not go back - despite being a Marriott loyalist and a big fan of the Caribbean. First, my room. I purposely paid (close to $500) for an ocean view room. I planned to spend alot of time peacefully on my balcony with an ocean view and going to sleep and waking up to the sound of waves and watching the tide come in and out. Please see the attached photos of the view from my room. It is of a street, in front of parking lot, in front of a marina. That is not an ocean view . I am astonished that the Marriott would try to sell any room in this hotel as having an ocean view. The hotel itself is also across the street from the other Marriott tower called the Ocean suites. Those rooms arguably have an ocean view. The hotel that I stayed in that is at least 1/2 mile away does not. Second, the food on the Marriott property. Again, I stay in Marriotts all the time - and from Zurich to Louisiana to the Caribbean I could always count on having some local, fresh options. I understand that Marriotts, and indeed, most large chain hotels, are family friendly and cater to wide variety of tastes. I know that instead of Michelin star inventive food there is likely to going to be the club sandwich and the pizza options - but I also always expect that I can ignore those and instead have at least a few fresh, local cuisine options. But the Aruba Renaissance does not offer ANY local fish options. Instead they offer very limited frozen and farmed seafood options at their restaurants such as: Pasta with shellfish or farmed freshwater salmon at their more upscale restaurants; Fish tacos with unidentifiable fried fish that as might as well have been chicken nuggets at the pool bars and private island; Shrimp quesadillas at the Adult pool restaurant and bar with tiny (likely frozen and farmed shrimp) that were definitely not caught anywhere near Aruba. Their restaurants cater to the worst stereotype of American and British tourists. Again, I understand that the Marriott is still a large chain, but I have stayed at Marriotts all over the world, including Courtyards and never had such poor food offerings. I admittingly, am a food snob, but due to the price and location of this hotel, I think this criticism is warranted. I should say that the staff at the restaurants, the bars, front desk, cleaning services - everyone really was nice and helpful. I believe these are corporate Marriott issues not local staff. I will never go back to this hotel again and will take a closer look next time I stay at a Marriott. I still can not get over the audacity to sell that room as an Ocean view room. Finally, I have been writing emails to Marriott customer service since the 3rd week of March, and just today I have been on hold for a total of 1 hour and 45 min (and counting) trying to get someone to address this room issue. I will think twice about staying in a Marriott again.

The best hotel in Aruba

This by far is the best hotel in Aruba. If you want some peace and quiet without the noise of children this is your place. Kids are not allowed to stay in the hotel nor stay on the famous Flamingo Beach. Yes, the beach where flamingos are in the wild walking up and down the beach. The Renaissance is across from the marina in the downtown area. The Renaissance spends a lot of money marketing this hotel and we have noticed the additional crowds to the island. Recent hurricanes in the Caribbean have scared tourist from the Bahamian islands but still want a tropical environment and Aruba is the place! We come at least once a year for the past seven years and have always enjoyed the Renaissance!

Still here and enjoying it. Room is nice, large comfy bed, kitchenette with fridge, sink and microwave. Ample living room space with couch, nice balcony. Bedroom door doesn’t work, stuck open, that’s the only issue, but do you really need to close the door? Lots of amenities close by, shops and restaurants. Short walk to pier where cruises dock, more restaurants and shopping there. Private island is a nice add, getting a massage later today. Would definitely return

We spend a week in the Renaissance Aruba Marina Hotel. Beautiful located in the city center of Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba. The room was very nice and good decorated. Good sleeping bed. The staf is very very friendly. They make you feel good. The service given was perfect. With a boat you are brought to their exclusive beach island. The island has flamingos and a seperate adult only beach, next to a family beach. New was their cabanas. All in all a perfect stay and recommended.

From the moment my wife and I walked in the Renaissance hotel till the moment we checked out, the experience was fenomenal! The nice girl behind the frontdesk named Frederique helped us really good and told us the place to visit and have dinner. Every day we saw us she asked how the holiday was so far and named us by name, which was really comfortable. The rooms were really clean and breakfast was well orginised. The hotel in it's entiry was just perfect. One of the nicest holidays I've ever had.
