Quinta Real Huatulco

Overall the hotel and trip was great. Issue was when we got there, the hotel did NOT have our reservation at all. They told us they aren't a Apply hotel and don't book through Apple. The flight knew about us with no issue. The transportation from airport to hotel knew about us? I showed them the paid receipt and your website that shows Quinta Real on it? This was also the first time we were told this was NOT an all inclusive. NOTHING is mentioned on website at all other than it has 2 restaurants (one is day and one is night). They sent us down to pool to have lunch and told us to come back in a couple hours. We came back in 2-3 hours after paying for lunch and they finally figured it out. They did upgrade our room. My issue is NOT with the hotel. My issue with with Apple?? How did they NOT have our reservation when we purchased it through Apple? What if they had been booked? Than no mention of it not being all inclusive on website. I did TRY to call Apple when I was there and could not get through to either of the published phone numbers. I sent an email in and somebody did call me back from Huatulco and told me someone from corporate would get back to me. I have heard nothing. I have traveled with Apple many times in past and never had this problem.

We were looking forward to our stay at this beautifully described resort and made a reservation with Upon arrival they tried to get us to upgrade to a nicer room for a quoted price and we accepted their price. They asked me to cancel my reservation with bookings and we agreed upon a price for the upgraded room. BIG MISTAKE! I was charged for one night stay with for the canceled reservation, and then the price we agreed upon was changed to 1000.00 USD per night. I did not expect this kind of deceitful behavior from a place with such nice reviews and photo's. One of the reason's I agreed to the upgrade is the front desk took me to the room we reserved and it was not clean and had the TV box laying in the room and the furnishing we very dated and dirty. Do not trust the staff at this place and stay away. It ruined our day and we finally found another place to stay. They also did not have their restaurant open because they said they did not have enough guests to open it. Really? You are away from everything and would have to get a taxi ride to any other place. Please beware of this place!

This is a wonderful hotel, has the must beautiful scenery, you can see from every room the stunning Huatulco bays, the people working there are amazing, the food is average and its not an easy beach to swim in. However you can have a wonderful stay, specially if you don't like crowds. It has everything you need, the place is beautiful, the view magnificent, the personal working there is amazing, it has 2 beautiful, really beautiful infinity pools, 10 minutes from downtown. I really recommend this place.

This was our second visit. Villa had been updated and was wonderful. Low key, fabulous pool with excellent food at pool bar. Huatulco is not so touristy as some of Mexico. You feel safe ! Taxis and food so reasonable. Only thing we would change would be main restaurant at hotel . All in all great location!!

In a word - dilapidated

This hotel felt old and in need of renovation. The room I stayed in had a window that didn't close properly and was tied with a string. The AC was very loud and indicated a new filter was needed. One of the armchairs had visible food or something that had been left uncleaned. Very understaffed. On a Sunday morning at 9 am there was no one to provide chairs/towels on the beach. All the other resorts on that beach were in full swing. Food was average. The pool was lovely and uncrowded. With taxes and fees the cost of my room for the night was $278 US. I would expect much more for that amount of money in Mexico.

Beautiful scenery

Everything was great, top notch restaurant and food, great service, but they were lacking personnel, that translated into up to an hour's wait for each meal. Otherwise great rooms and accommodations, not to crowded just perfect.
