Excellent - but watch the upcharges
DONNA V.

The resort was amazing and service outstanding - but many items have up-charges not included in the all-inclusive package. So many in fact, that we asked every time we ordered and still found charges at checkout time. This becomes frustrating as we likely would have made different choices had we known about the upcharges. Also, we had a friendly debate about the difference in all-inclusive alcohol content; is it possible for me to really drink 5 Absolute Vodka dirty martini's and not be totally inebriated or hung-over when at home I cannot finish two? We still had a great time ... and appreciated the no-hangover aspect. Our bartender, Ricardo, was GREAT (and made AMAZING dirty martini's)!

shuttle service sucks!!!

we had a 4:30pm flight in which we were picked up at 12:10 for. this 4.5 hour time was spent driving to another hotel to pick up passangers that never showed up. we sat in the car with no explaination for 45 minutes. finally I found our driver and asked what the hell was going on. he proceeded to wrap up looking for the missing passangers and took us to the airport. we were so early for our flight there was nobody in the terminal to check the flight in. sat waiting for another hour until a desk attendant for our airlines checked us in. we then had two more hours to wait for our flight at the gate. you really need to better coordindate the shuttle serivce since that wasted the better half of a day for nothing. Overall the hotel was good. the only issues were the staff was incredibly slow in bringing you your drinks (avg. 20-30 minutes) and food (Avg about an hour). The hotels website specifically says no tipping, but every restaurant you visited and every service provided, you were told that a tip would be appreciated. Now- generally, I do tip, but not when food arrives and hour after ordering and when your beverage arrives 30 minutes after ordering.

Beach was not swimable but there should be chairs and umbrellas to enjoy the view and beach experience. Food was excellent. Bathrooms were disappointing because no tub and only one sink and the bath area was tight. The necessity to sign a ticket for every item even though it is all inclusive is very annoying!!!

Didn't want to leave

The property is very quiet, relaxing, and secluded which is exactly what we were looking for. The food in all of the restaurants was fantastic, we enjoyed every meal. The service was exceptional. Our Butler- Ricardo was fantastic! He was always available and eager to help. He took care of everything we needed! The guys by the pool and cabanas (Sibhid, Alan, and Guadalupe) worked so hard. They brought us food and drinks before we even asked for it! The only reason I can't give it 5 stars was our experience in the VIP lounge. It seemed a bit disorganized and inconsistent in terms of service. Sometimes there was coffee ready in the morning, sometimes you had to wait on it. Sometimes there were glasses out and you could make your own cocktail, sometimes there were no glasses and no one around. Sometimes you had to wait to get a plate or utensils. It was just not as smooth as our experiences with VIP areas at other resorts. It still wouldn't stop us from going back! Everything else was fabulous. If they can get that area dialed in, it's just about perfect!

Will be back!!

Wonderful resort. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to assist. Our butler was Alfredo Tijerina and he was fantastic! He assisted us to make things go smoothly. He made sure we had a dream vacation!

A quiet and relaxing resort

We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica during the first week in April and, overall, were really impressed with many aspects of the resort. Arrival -we found our shuttle easily at airport and were surprised to be the only two people on it. The drive from the airport to the resort was about 40 minutes without any other stops along the way. -we arrived around 3pm and were able to check in immediately, with no wait in line. However, we did see that another couple had been waiting for a while and were told their room wasn't ready at 3 (the check in time). Reception was pleasant but nothing special. Resort -the hotel and grounds are beautiful and tastefully done. The resort is on the smaller side but it never felt crowded. In fact it was often half empty! The resort is really quiet and, with the exception of Saturday afternoon, there was no rowdy or drunk guests. Even the one group that was definitely having a good time were not really overly loud or disruptive. The pools are large but the water is on the cold side. We could always find chairs to sit in by the pool. Getting an umbrella was slightly more difficult because there weren’t that many and, on windy days you are not permitted to use the umbrellas. The beach is basically empty as swimming is not permitted. -you can visit other resorts owned by Pueblo Bonito. PB Sunset Beach was very nice and the food we had there was also excellent. PB Rose was closer to downtown Cabo and had access to a swimable beach; however, it was loud and crowded and the food we tried was terrible. -we were told we could take a free shuttle between resorts and into downtown Cabo but this proved to be more complicated than expected. When we attempted to take the shuttle from PB Rose back to the Pacifica we were told all the shuttles for the afternoon/evening were “full” and that we needed “a ticket”. We could never figure out how to get tickets (despite this being “explained” to us a couple times). Room -our room was comfortable and reasonably well appointed. The bed was comfortable. We had a nice view of the resort and ocean from our small veranda. The room had a coffee maker and minifridge. The fridge had two beer, two waters, and two cans of coke and was usually replenished daily. -the room is not overly soundproof and we could hear people walking up stairs and around the room above us. Fortunately, the resort is very quiet so this was rarely a problem but it could be if the resort was full. Gym -The gym was brand new, large, and well appointed with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, free weights, and machines. It was also almost empty most days. Probably the best gym I have seen at an all-inclusive. Service -every staff member we encountered was professional, extremely polite, and very helpful. The service really stood out compared to other similar all-inclusive resorts we have visited in Mexico and elsewhere. The service in the restaurants was exceptionally good. -That being said, the service was very slow at the pool (for food and drinks) even by all-inclusive standards and occasionally they forgot our order entirely. For example, we waited for over an hour for lunch at the snack bar on a couple occasions. Food -The food (snack bar, restaurants, and room service) was exceptional for an all inclusive and we were really impressed with the quality and variety. The Sunday brunch buffet looked particularly good (though on the smaller side compared to other resorts we have been to) but we were not able to try it as we had to leave before it opened. -room service had a wide variety of breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night options and all of the things we tried were really good. The wait for room service ranged from 25 to 60 minutes. -it's important to know that not all of the options on the restaurant menus are included and many of the best meals had additional charges (40 to 50 USD or more). -also, some of the restaurants have additional entry charges (20 to 35 USD) as well as additional charges for certain menu items. -we were surprised to learn that there is no lunch or supper buffets. For supper, you need to make a reservation at one of the three restaurants on site (or at restaurants at sister resorts). When making a reservation, we were usually able to get the time we wanted; however, the restaurants were often half empty when we arrived, which made us wonder why we needed to make a reservation in the first place. -the Steakhouse at the Golf Club/Quivira should not be missed, even though there is a 35 USD pp additional charge. The setting and restaurant are beautiful and the food was delicious. Alcohol -many "top shelf" brands had additional costs and they were not brands that were overly expensive or fancy (e.g., Patron, Makers' Mark, and Jameson's were not included) -the house red and white wine (only all-inclusive wine options) were absolutely terrible and undrinkable. At the restaurants the wines on the wine list are extra and one of the cheapest bottles cost 50 USD. Tipping -almost every time you order a drink and every time we ordered food, we were asked for our room number and then provided with an itemized bill of the cost in USD and Mexican pesos. Even when the cost was 0 the bill was still provided and tipping expected. Internet -internet access was sporadic and did not work well from our room. Instagram in particular was very difficult to use. The wifi was also very slow, even for basics like checking email. Summary -overall we were really pleased with almost all aspects of the Pacifica and would return.

This was our second trip to Pacifica and was even more amazing than the first. Because we were celebrating our anniversary we decided to book a room in The Towers and we were not disappointed! Ricardo was our butler for our stay and was beyond amazing. He went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed. His knowledge of Pacifica, Sunset and what to do when we went into town was a tremendous help. We were late to reserve for the wine tasting event but he helped us reserve a spot. The wine tasting was a great way to spend an evening! Marlon and Gabriel, the resort sommeliers, provided some history on Mexican wines and were very engaging. Gabriel is also the manager of the Peninsula restaurant, he is a genuine and humble man that has a great team and great food. Valentin works in the rooftop lounge and makes great a margarita and mojito and was always on top of it when we visited. Our experience at The Towers has spoiled us and will make it difficult for another resort to live up to.
